Michio heard crashing above him and shifted the peep hole of the blood dome so that it was viewing directly upwards and saw the boulder falling towards him with increasing velocity.
"What in the actual ********> he called out from the dome, which was muffled to anyone who might have heard it. He stressed out and pressed his blood harder to his hands as well as his eyes, solidifying the dome for another round of abuse.
"Might as well give it up kid! You can't break me!"

A fracture forms along the surface of the boulder as it makes contact with the blood barrier. Rapidly the boulder breaks apart but the minor stones hang in the air for a moment, raising up slightly before ramming back down to pelt the barrier.

"God dammit kid!!!!" he shouted from within the dome, getting really annoyed with this child's constantly failed attempts to harm him. He strengthened the dome once more for another round of punishment, hoping that the child wasn't just stalling him so that someone more powerful could appear and actually pose a threat to Michio.

Stealth Check: 900 Surprise Attack: 2400
The stones began to patter to the ground after their impact against the barrier. For a long moment no sound came from the forest of bamboo. No movement could be heard and no further attacks came from outside the barrier... a soft giggle came from within the barrier. "Mr..." From behind Michio a young girl, possibly no older than four, watched him keenly from where she sat with her legs crossed. Her dark, green eyes were eerily sharp from beneath messily cut blonde bangs. "You're too loud. Shut up." With a tilt of her head, she smiled and raised a hand to wave good bye... the fingers and skin melting away half motion to create a whip of blood that was aimed to slam into Michio's side with incredible force.
Michio's peephole had shifted back to the source of the voice when he saw that not only was it a little girl, but that she was wielding blood just as he was capable of doing. The skin in his face went pale and he was far too shocked to make a move as the blood dome melted around him and left him unprotected.
'How could a little girl harness this much power? And how can she do that? Is she a Ketsueki? She must be!' he thought, then his thoughts followed with 'Ow...' as the whip landed across his left cheek just under the eyepatch and sliced down his chest, leaving a gash in not only his slash-proof coat and slash-proof undershirt, but also across the bare skin underneath.
He began to bleed pretty heavily, the wound spilling his life giving fluid down his front and onto the already damp ground as he fell to his knees. He could do nothing but stare as he watched the girl, his mouth hanging open.
"How... you..." he tried, but he could not form words into a functioning sentence.

The young frown slightly as she shifted to her knees before raising to her feet, her arm retracting back to it's normal size -- the skin reforming rapidly back to it's original appearance. Walking over to the boy that knelt, bleeding to his death, she stopped just a hands breadth away from his face, folding small arms over her chest as she watched him calmly. "That's it? Pathetic." She whispers softly, a pout forming on her face for a moment, "Boys could keep themselves up..." She giggled before she leaning forward to plant a kiss on his cheek on Michio's kiss that would inject a contact poison into his blood system.
Michio stared as the girl approached but still found himself unable to move more than just turn his head as she approached. Some of his warrior spirit stirred when she chastised him for having just taken the hit, but he wasn't able to move until after she'd delivered the poisonous kiss onto his cheek.
The burning sensation was unreal and unlike anything he had ever experienced. It was as if he had rubbed arsenic directly onto his cheek. The poison spread throughout his entire face almost immediately and the veins on his face darkened and began to pulse. If Michio had not already experienced being blinded once, he might have even called the pain blinding.
He jumped to his feet and grabbed his right wrist, tearing the skin and causing it to begin bleeding profusely. Using this, he attempted to wrap up this little girl in a near-cocoon of blood, intending to leave only her face exposed. "Who are you and what do you want? And why are you able to use the same jutsu as I am?" he half-shouted at her, the pain in his face intensifying and spreading to his neck as the poison moved through his bloodstream.
The girl turned around with mock surprise, allowing the blood to wrap around her small frame. "Now you've got me all wet." She mutters shyly, turning away without any difficulty despite the blood holding her, a blush reddening her cheeks. Slowly she raised both hands to her lips, pulling the flood along with her motion causing it to stretch in its viscous state. Opening her mouth widely the skin of her cheeks separating - the sinews and muscles fully visible as they stretched to unnatural limits, the young girl pulled the foreign blood into her mouth and clamped down, beginning to slurp it inward at a frightening speed that threatened to draw more blood from Michio.
Michio was repulsed by her reaction and cut off the blood at his wrist, which sealed the wound almost immediately. "Listen. I just want to go to the village and see if they have any information about a certain someone. I don't know why you're attacking me and I sure as hell don't know why the hell you can use Ketsueki techniques. But honestly, little lady, you're giving me the creeps. So unless you can point me to the village or can give me any information about Uchiha Jin, I'm going to be on my way."
He folded his arms and looked down at her as she slurped up the last of the blood that he'd used to try and hold her.

After Michio said his peace, the little girl before him merely stared at him and smiled with an unnerving innocence that did not match how she had behaved for the past couple of hours. Sure that he was getting nowhere with her, he shook his head and began to walk away. A few minutes later, he noticed that the little girl was also walking in his same direction. “Where I'm going is nowhere a child needs to be. Even one who's got the same abilities as I do.” he called to her, but it did not sway her determination to tail him. He frowned and turned back to the road ahead, then kicked off into a full run. After a ways, he looked back but could see nothing behind him. That didn't mean he'd lost the girl, but after a few moments of waiting, he found himself without being assaulted once more, so he was satisfied.
The Ketsueki looked down at his transformation and noticed that the gash was still there, cutting through the blood and down to his own form. This upset him, but he sighed rather than get truly mad, heading off into a set of bamboo stalks. Once inside, he activated his Water Release: Ferocity of the Rapids technique as well as his Water Release: Hidden By Blood technique in order to create an all new appearance for himself. Taking the little girl as inspiration, he became merely four feet tall with a malnutrition level of skinny build. His hair stretched to the back of his knees and curled at the ends everywhere except at his bangs, which were straight and jagged, cut just sbove his eyebrow as to not get into his now black eyes embedded inside of a dark complexion. For his clothing, he shaped the blood to resemble a pair of ratty looking shorts and an equally ratty looking tank top and a pair of sandals. All in all, he now looked as if a small, impoverished, homeless child who happened to be out for a stroll in the countryside. For what reason was up to whomever came across him.
Rather than return to the road, Michio activated his Hightened Reflexes and Padding Like Silent Flow Techniques before sneaking off, hoping to lose the little girl for good as well as keep himself from getting discovered by anyone who might not want him in the country of the Village Hidden in the Rain.
As he moved to sneak through the brush, he couldn't help but still get the feeling he was being followed, so he kept an eye out for not only the little girl, but any wildlife that might find he, the appearance of a small child, appetizing. Though if they were smart, they smell the unnatural nature of his blood coating and steer clear of him. All the same, he felt an unnerving presence somewhere nearby and was constantly looking around with all of his senses on high alert.
As he walked, he began to remember back to the very last time he'd been in a forest. A few days before his parents murder by the hands of the Inuzuka clan.
----------- Michio stepped through the forest and listened to the birds make their various tweets and caws, heard the rats and the squirrels squeak and squawk as they gathered their food supplies. He could even hear the snakes slithering along the brush, their soft bellies gliding nearly silently across leaves and over small twigs. In the distance, a rather loud bird could be heard singing an off-tune song with it's tweets. More of a call to it's fellow avian family than anything else. But as beautiful as the forest was, Michio was not here to bask in the serenity that the forest offered. He was on a mission, a favor asked of by his aunt and uncle. There was a pack of wolves running a-mock through the forest, using it as their den while they would come out nightly and pick off the chickens and other small farm animals that Michio's aunt and uncle were cultivating to keep the village supplied with milk, cheese, and eggs.
He stood atop a rather high branch and hid himself in the leaves, his bone claws extended as he waited patiently for the wolves to begin their hunt. The sun had just begun to set and only the moon gave light to the pathway below. A squirrel ran up to the leaves he was sitting in and raced across his lap before Michio or the squirrel even knew that the other was that close. Once across his lap, the squirrel panicked and took off for the edge of the branch, then turned around and began squawking at him, giving away his position to anything that could speak squirrel chirps.
--------------
Something moved ahead of him and Michio ducked low, hiding back into the bamboo. He wondered if it was the little girl or if it were something else. He hoped it wasn't an animal, but as he peered through the stalks, he saw two men walking along the road in shinobi attire. Their Rain Village headbands shined in a combination of the sleek rain and what little light broke through the clouds hanging over the country in a constant sun shade.
“Did you hear about the new bounty?” one of them asked the other, his voice deep and somewhat hollow.
“Yeah, I did. I thought that's why we were out here?” the other man replied, but the one shook his head as he took steps.
“A few measly trinkets to capture someone? If the target is that important, they must be powerful. That reward isn't worth the risk.” the first man said, shaking his head as he continued to trudge along. It was not long before they were out of earshot, leaving Michio to remain hunkered down where he'd ducked.
'Bounty, huh? I wonder if that's on me... if that's the case, the Sand Village moves fast... but only a few trinkets for my return? I'm surprised that they want my return, not my death.' he thought. 'I need to get to the bounty board. I need to see exactly what the Sand Village is offering for my capture.'
With that, he continued to sneak until dusk fell and beyond.

Kaito let out a small laugh at the comment Arina made about her mother bringing her back to life just to whoop her a**. "Yeah just to avoid all of that let's just not die, pretty solid plan if I say so myself!" The group carried on over the bridge and proceeded following the path as Arina continued speaking of making a little mini vacation out of their mission, and Kaito was fond of that idea to say the least. "Yes! Yes I'm so okay with that you have not even the slightest idea, I need a break from everything right now. After this missions up I'm sure we're gonna be pretty damn busy with other missions... So maybe we can just casually take our time on our way back?" The Akimichi only could hope that Hanako felt the same way as both Arina and himself. Surely she would voice her opinion on the matter sooner than later as they had a little ways of walking before they would reach the rain country.
The trio carried on through the fire country, they wouldn't see much besides tree and shrubbery along this journey. Fire country consisted mostly of those things, and to make things worse Rain Country was laid out nearly the same. "I dunno about you guys, but I'm getting a little anxious." This wasn't necessarily a bad thing, but surely it was human response to jumping into a real fight. Kaito had been in scuffles before but he was obviously no seasoned veteran on the battlefield, not yet at least. That was something he would strive to be, but not rush it. Those types of things took time and practice that he would accrue over time. "I'm sure this will go smoothly as long as we get some sort of plan rolling here, so we should probably figure something out." Kaito was speaking much more seriously than the other two had probably saw him before. They had almost reached their destination thus battle would soon be among them. "I wish sand gave us more information about the guy. B rank isn't any joke, and they basically are sending us in blind. All they really gave us was he's got anger issues and some kind of fake eye or something... I guess we go with something basic strategy?" Kaito turned around facing his teammates but continued walking. The road ahead was fairly straight so he shouldn't have any issues with tripping or falling over. "Unfortunately we haven't saw each other in combat yet, well... You guys might have saw each other in action but I've only known you guys for a day so... yeah."
His tone was still fairly stern, his serious face still on. "I'm mainly a ninjutsu user, I specialize with the scorch style, so mostly deal with fire and wind affinities. I'm assuming from meeting your family that you specialize in taijutsu Hanako? And Arina, I believe you mentioned you're are medic?" The drunk would wait for confirmation from his teammates before continuing. "I think this is pretty obvious how this is gonna work out, realistically this guy being a B Ranked bounty is stronger than any of us alone, just work together and we'll be off on our vacation in no time flat!" His typically smile would reaapear at this point, and he turn himself back around just before they started going down hill a little bit. "Oh yeah, forgot to mention... Welcome to Rain Country!"

as a battered and tired Shinken followed the tracks he had found deeper into the forest he had to pause for just a moment. He had never seen this kind of greenery in his entire life. At least not up in the thick of it like this. He only allowed himself a few seconds before turning back to the tracks and following them to their source. It was there that he found a hunter in a blind. The man had covered himself in mud, and overgrowth. Shinken almost didn't see him. When the young Uchiha spotted the man the hunter let out a grunt of frustration, and rose to his feet.
"God damn it! You just ruined my hunt. The hell are you doing out here?!" The dirty hunter hissed through clenched teeth. Shinken only had moments to assess the situation. He decided it would be best to claim ignorance. To be honest he had no idea where he was going, and this man might be able to point him and direction of something.
"I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to. It's just… Well I'm kinda lost. I got turned off the road and lost my sense of direction. I've been wandering for a while now. If you could just point me in the direction of… Something I would be really grateful." Shinken said doing his best to plead for the man's assistance. The young ninja had his pride, but at this point he was a foreigner, and he was lost. The hunter let out an exasperated sigh, and shook his head.
"For ******** sake kid. Alright, I guess I could help you out. I've got a few spots out over that way, but if you go in that direction over there don't take any turns you should hit a small village. Now get outta my forest before you screw up my hunt any worse." The hunter said as he began to gather up his things. He pointed Shinken in the direction of the village, and then headed in the opposite direction. The young ninja shifted his direction approximately 30° to the right and began the long trek to the village.
When Shinken arrived a small farming community he saw food vendor. The thought of the sandy Rice balls he had brought with him did not appeal to him. If he could get some kind of food here he could refill his stores at least a little. With that he moved up to speak with the vendor.
"Hello, I'm looking for some food and it looks like you're selling. How much are those? Shinken asked pointing to some small fruits. The vendor took a drag on his lit cigarette before responding.
"The fruit is 15 ryo a piece." The vendor said looking Shinken up and down. He quirked an eyebrow and bit his lip as if he was thinking. 15 ryo a piece was quite expensive but Shinken needed the food and so he reached into his pocket and pulled out 45 ryo.
"I'll take three." The young Uchiha said as he places his money on the counter of the stall. The merchant handed Shinken's three fist -sized pieces of fruit.
"You know it's strange, you're the second traveller I've seen today. We don't get many of those. Haven't seen a traveller in weeks. Enjoy your fruit." The man said as he waved the young ninja off. Shinken the however found the sudden and unusual appearance of a traveller in this area suspicious.
"Hold on a minute. He said there was another traveller came through here? Do you know which way he went?" Shinken asked. The merchant got a sudden glint in his eye and he quickly responded.
"Well if you're so interested in this traveller I suppose I could point you in his direction for say 50 ryo?" The merchant said with a wry grin. Shinken wasn't going to argue the point with this man. It could be a lead, and that was worth 50 ryo.
"You've got a deal. Which way did he go?" Shinken asked. He was hoping that this traveller was Michio. But it was a big country, and there was no way to be sure. Even if it wasn't Michio this traveller might've seen something and it was worth checking out. Shinken pulled out more money from his pouch and placed it on the counter of the stall. The smoking merchant placed his hand over the coins and slid them back, before pointing in the direction that the traveller had gone.
"Well he went that way. Good luck finding whatever you're looking for." The merchant said as Shinken walked away. The young ninja unlocked his heightened state of mind, and began to examine the surroundings.

Need to roll a 50 or under to succeed in finding the clearing
As Shinken examined the surroundings he noticed that there were a strange set of indents leading in a particular direction. After a moment he realized that the spacing of these indents was just right for footprints. He couldn't tell if they were male or female, and the indentations had filled up with water, but it was certainly a lead he could follow. The young Genin's stomach grumbled and he reached into his pack to pull a piece of the fruit he had bought. He bit into it and it was sour. It seemed that this fruit had not had long enough to mature. It was better than the gritty sand filled rice balls that he had brought with him sand village, but not by much.
The young boy did not let his food situation deter him from following the tracks he had found. They led him toward a bamboo forest. He had to thank fate for small miracles. At least if he was to get into this bamboo forest he might be able to get out of the rain. By now he was starting to become completely soaked through. If he didn't warm up soon he was going to get sick. With nowhere to stay, little food, having to keep moving getting sick was something he couldn't afford. Shinken decided that he could burn off a little extra chakra to warm himself up. He channeled his fire element chakra into his blood stream and skin cells in order to slightly raise the temperature. He maintained this focus as he continued to follow the tracks through the bamboo forest.
The tracks became less and less muddy as time went on. Instead he followed small broken branches of bamboo. The sound of rain pitter pattering on the leaves of the bamboo slowly began to grate on the young Uchiha's temperament. He had never seen so much rain. The young ninja wasn't sure how was that this entire country wasn't flooded all the time. As he continued to walk he noticed small animals moving through the shoots of bamboo. That was when he wished he had a kunai. If he still possessed the throwable ninja tool he could've speared one of the small animals and had a proper meal. Knowing it wouldn't do him any good to dwell on what could have been Shinken continued to push forward through the forest. As he made his way deeper into the vegetation he noticed was beginning to feel more dry. Looking up he realized that the rain had nearly stopped coming through the canopy. Suddenly the sound of the rain against the leaves was a lot more welcome than it had been.
Shinken lost the trail to the following and was forced to backtrack. It was not something that he relished doing. It was wasting precious time and energy. It took him almost 10 minutes to find a track again and he realized that it had diverged from its trajectory curving to the left. He cursed himself for not being more observant. He couldn't afford many more mistakes like that if he was going to gain any ground.
Now that he was back on track Shinken made doubly sure that he was heading in the right direction. Every five or 10 minutes stop and observe the surroundings making sure that the trail had not changed direction. This process slowed him down, but he figured it would save him time in the long run.
After an hour had passed Shinken was finally dry and he was able to stop burning off his chakra. The process it only added to his fatigue and he really would have to stop soon. When he came across a very small clearing only about 5 feet in diameter with a single rock in the centre he was suspicious to say the least. He carefully observed his surroundings checking for traps or any other form of ambush before making his way to the rock and sitting down.
Though the rock called in hard it was the most comfortable he had been all day. His aching legs finally had a chance to rest, and he was no longer cold, wet, and shivering. Despite his warnings to himself Shinken stated that small clearing for nearly half an hour. When he felt as if his strength had returned he set out back on the trail of the traveller he was following.

need to roll a 65 or under to find the broken bamboo shafts
As Shinken's stumbled through the bush he nearly lost sight of the trail. The terrain was becoming harsher and rougher. Even though the rain had stopped there was yet another obstacle in his way. By now he knew the tracking down Michio was not going to be an easy task. He only hoped that when he did find him he still had enough energy left to fight.
With all of this going on the young Uchiha couldn't help but wonder what his brother would've done the situation. His older brother had always been a kind loyal person. Those are traits that Shinken did his best to embody, but he never could live up to his brother's image. At least not the image he remembered. His anger grew at the fact that the village had shoved lies down his throat and forced them to doubt his own brother.
With the things he had seen he knew his brother was right in coming back and trying to change the village. However that mattered very little in the grand scheme of things. He certainly didn't have the power to change things now. Neither of them did. The only difference between him and his brother in this scenario was that Shinken was still alive.
Shinken pushed his way into a clearing and what he saw there stunned him. There was a half crushed corpse of a giant lizard, but it was only a skeleton. The meat had been completely stripped from its bones to cleanly to be an animal kill. There would've been some kind of grizzle or cartilage for at least a scrap of flash if this had been animals. The bones had not yet been bleached by the sunlight, meaning it wasn't an old kill. Something about all of this seemed very off but Shinken couldn't put his finger on it.
As he examined the surrounding area trying to figure out where the trail picked up again he found something odd. Far out on the edge of the clearing just in were some the bamboo began to grow again there was the smallest bit of blood splatter. It was quite a distance from the corpse meaning that whatever happened must've been very violent. The blood sat on the ground in a way that indicated it hadn't simply been a bleeding wound. It looked almost as if there were some kind of kinetic energy behind the blood, as if it had sprayed, but there was so little of it Shinken couldn't be sure. Combined with the strange appearance of the corpse something definitely felt off about this whole thing.
Shinken searched the rest of the clearing as well as a little ways into the forest hoping to find another clue of some kind as to what happened here, but found nothing. So far all he had was speculation, and an odd feeling that something was off. He didn't like the feeling of this place and he wanted to get out as quickly as he could, but he couldn't do that until he found the trail again.

INDENTHearing everyone talk about their insecurities did not really surprise Arina as the mission was going to be a difficult one; what did surprise the girl was her lack of empathy because at the moment she was feeling nothing. The best guess was that her body and mind just had not realized the severity and reality of the situation yet, since the majority of their mission thus far had just been mundane traveling. “I am a medical shinobi that uses water and earth ninjutsu,” the young girl confirmed to Kaito, “in theory at least.” Arina smiled chuckling nervously. The truth of the matter was that the girl had very little combat experience and most of that was before she had learned any subsequent jutsu that may or may not affect how the tides of battle proceed. She was interested to hear a little bit more about Hanako because provided that Kaito was correct… They really had a well-rounded team which would be nice as long as everyone had equal skills to appropriately pull off this mission. That being said – They were assigned this mission and obviously, the village would not have done such a thing if they did not have faith in the trio and their capabilities to successfully accomplish their task at hand. Why send a bunch of low level genin whom you have no faith in when you could send higher ranking and more skilled shinobi in their stead.
INDENTArina could not help but think about what Kaito had mentioned earlier. He was completely correct in his conclusion that the Sand Village had left every able bodied shinobi under-prepared for the kill of their bounty. That was not even including the fact that realistically the village wanted the bounty alive if possible. It was completely unrealistic of the village to leave everyone so wholly unprepared, “You are right about those bounties. The smallest of details would help other shinobi prepare for these kinds of missions: affinities, fighting preference, stuff like that.” That begged another question though; did they have an ulterior reason for such actions, maybe? “Do you think the Sand Village has somebody chasing after the bounty themselves? You would think that they probably hope to capture their own missing-nin themselves, neh?” Arina questioned to hear team but also, it helped just saying the words out loud to allow her to better concentrate on her own thought processes. That could probably work to their favor if there were other villages sending in reinforcements; of course, they would also have to share the glory of the kill or capture which was not in their best interest as a village or a team.
INDENT“Welcome to Rain Country,” Kaito announced having lost every portion of anxiety that he had been revealing only a few moments earlier. Arina snapped to her senses looking around the area only to realize that nothing much had really changed as far as environment was concerned. The girl nodded approvingly while continuing to inspect the immediate vicinity. The three of them would need to remain vigilant from this moment on because the overwhelming truth was that the missing-nin in their bounty could literally be anywhere within the country. “It would be best to continue towards the village,” Arina declared though everyone there was probably thinking the same thing; the young girl still preferred to hear everything with spoken and very vocal communication. Communication was going to be key in completing this mission and remaining alive. There it was. She was beginning to feel that anxiety that everyone had been talking about. In between knowing they were now in the projected location of the rogue shinobi and also knowing that he was considered a Rank B mission, the girl could feel her heartbeat start to beat a little faster and her demeanor completely changed being almost on edge; wary of every sound or movement within the tree line.
INDENT“How many civilian villages are we projected to travel through?” Arina questioned Kaito who had been holding onto the map which he had brought from their village and glancing at occasionally just to make sure everything was going according to plan. “It might be a useful way to accrue some information and we could probably use a small break before continuing on. We will not be of any use if the entire team is exhausted from our nonstop travels. I understand it was necessary to reach our target but now that we have reached the area I think it would be mindful of us to regain our strength before continuing on,” the young girl continued on not really curious of anyone else and their opinions; however this would have to be a unanimous vote regardless. ‘teamwork is kind of annoying,’ the girl contemplated how having to compromise and make decisions would be so much more difficult with three people, particularly if they did not have a similar mindset.
