Lizbot Battle Notes: - a boos HP must be between 1-3 to be caught. - 0 hp means the boo has dissipated. - battling a boo does not mean Davey has to try and capture it - if a boo gets captured, their player has the choice to have it escape if they don't want it taken to the hunter camp's temporary lab - Davey can capture up to 3 boos, but can settle for just one When you're done, just send Davey back here. You can also send him back here at any point, outside of battle. Davey hissed as the ghost struck yet again. He shouldn't have hesitated before activating one of the traps that Doctor H had given him. Quickly placing Azrael back in the scabard hanging from his waist, Davey reached for one of the small grey boxes instead. After a quick inspection, he thumbed a switch and tossed the box to land below the pink Boo. The blue-striped doors of the trap flew open, a beam of... something? it looked like light, but Davey was guessing that FEAR was involved somehow... shot out to try and ensnare the ghost. Like a tractor beam in a sci-fi movie, it began to reel the ghost in. Davey watched, curious and also hoping that this actually worked. (If the doctor had given him defective equipment, then they were having words. Words that would not be at Davey's expense, and may in fact include the sharp edge of Azrael's blade.) [[ HP: 32 - 4 = 28 ]] (( OOC - So, basically, up to you if you're okay with your Boo being caught and taken to Hunter camp, or if you want him to escape <3 ))

Spoon was somewhat in a daze, somewhere between death and dying- from hunger and wounds. It was disappointed once more as the bite filled nothing. It didn't even ease the hunger for a second. It was always there. Its eyes were welling, and now it was pouring as it bobbed and down in place. Though it found itself being pulled downwards. The pink boo with a chefs hat was crying as it gave up its life to the fates while being dragged down to the device beneath it. "Wahhhh--" Its crying was paused. "Huh?" The pink boo was stuck the machine, it was definitely trapped as it tried to wriggle free. Flying was out of the question. It felt like it was much heavier than it seemed. Its body was definitely bigger than the doors. It was helpless. "Food?", said the boo, it was stuck but still hungry. ((Spoon is captured, would you like to name it? -pokedex.wav-))

Davey approached the trap hesitantly. It looked like it had worked, and sure enough there was a glow coming from the light at the end of the box. Closing his fingers around it, Davey raised the trap, holding it at arm's length. It didn''t seem like it was about to explode. Maybe it was safe. Mouth twisting, Davey decided he'd have to risk it for now.
A sad "Food?" drifted out of the trap. Damn thing was still hungry.
"Maybe the doctor will feed you later." Davey didn't know why he was talking to the ghost, let alone trying to reassure it. He wouldn't put it past Doctor H to feed his lab assistants who displeased him to the creature - all in the name of scientific research, of course. Davey made plans to be far away by the time actual inspection of the ghost began.
Clipping the trap back onto his belt, Davey's eye was caught by the two empty traps. Sure, he could take this one back and be done with the mission. But who was to say that this ghost was the unusual one the Doctor had been looking for? Davey had been given three traps... With a sigh, Davey turned to see if he could find another test subject. Or a door.

((Entering from ORP Attic Hub))
Leonard quickly found himself pulled through the house to a dark room. It was much quieter, with one creature, turned away from him. It already seemed injured with bite marks.
It must be in pain.
"I can help with that you know," Leonard said as he floated closer. "Pain seems like such a bad thing, but I can make it all disappear...just like you."

"What is it with you lot and trying to eat me?" Davey answered with a scowl as he turned around. It somehow wasn't surprising to have another ghost approach. At least this one seemed more coherent than the last. (Was there still a faint echo of 'food?' coming from the trap on his belt?) He raised his sword, keeping it between the faintly blue apparition and himself. The last thing he needed was more bite marks, thank you very much. He hadn't carried the imprint of this many teethmarks since that brothel in Shanghai... but that was only because his squad mates had gotten him outrageously drunk, and they were never speaking of that again. This time Davey wasn't waiting for the ghost to make the first move. He had a mission to carry out - it didn't matter if this one could speak well or not, Davey was still going to catch more samples for the Doctor. "Disappearing? You first." Davey swung out with Azrael. And missed. He winced, as Azrael immediately launched into a tirade of insults to Davey's parentage and mental capacity. [[ HP: 28 Damage: 5 - 6 = 0 ]]

Leonard dodged the attack, and glowered at his opponent. "Eat you? Don't be disgusting. The idea is insulting really. Pain is a bad thing. If you are gone you can't feel pain. So really I'm just trying to help you out. Now hold still and I'll finish you off before you realize it."His form of help came in bodily throwing himself at his opponent, a glowing blue blob of helpful intent. He wasn't worried about the sharp stick the thing was waving at him, he obviously wasn't that great at him if he could dodge it. Leonard wasn't precisely known for excelling physically. "One good thing, I guess," Davey muttered. Though the ghost still wanted him dead, so really, it was a moot point. But at least there wouldn't be any more ghost slobber or teeth involved. The blue one was just going to bludgeon him to death, instead. It was like a blunt object striking Davey's head. The Hunter stumbled backwards, wincing and cursing. His hand flew to his head, the fist gripping Azrael pressing lightly against the wounded area. Yeah, that was gonna leave a raised bump. There was a rining in his ears as Davey straightened, settling back into an attack pose. "Sorry, but I'm not dying today." It was time to focus. Hell, if he kept missing, it might even be time to get serious and try out that special move again. Seemed like a waste, but Davey wasn't familiar with hunting ghosts and this didn't seem to be going well so far. Despite Davey's concentration, the next strike also missed. Azrael began muttering to himself, ~That's it. When we get back, I'm quitting. You're so Jacking useless. Did I think you had potential? I must have been hallucinating.~"Shut up," hissed Davey. That didn't stop his face from flushing pink, though. [[ HP: 28 - 5 = 23 Damage: 6 - 6 = 0 ]]

Leonard pulled off a rather spectacular dodge by floating to the side and couldn't hold back a light snort of amusement. "You aren't convincing me," he replied, rather ignoring just how close the blade had been. He had actually heard it whistle as it went past. "My hit seems to have given you a head injury, so you may be experiencing double vision. I believe its an incredibly annoying condition, so just hold still again and maybe another hit will clear that up for you." He charged forward again, not really aiming, just closing his eyes and going for it, which at least landed him a glancing blow. [[HP: 10 Attack 8 - 6 = 2 damage]]

"I'll pass," came the flat reply. Not that it stopped the ghost from making good on his word. Davey saw it coming and tried to dodge, but the wisp wasn't wrong about having double-vision. It was only temporary, but was enough for the blue ghost to still glance Davey's shoulder as the Hunter moved. "I'm really getting sick of this." ~You are? Think of me, please. You can at least blame yourself for this. What did I do to deserve watching you fail so spectacularly?~With a growl, Davey suggested, "You could try to help, instead?" Azeael sniffed. He could. Whether or not he would was something entirely different. After a moment's pause, the sword sighed. ~Fiiine. It wasn't as though Azrael could move himself on his own, or really assist physically in any way. But even if it was all in Davey's head (like Azrael's voice), it somehow made a difference. When they moved, with a single shared goal, it was super effective. A critical strike, right through the centre of the ghostly blue mass. [[ HP = 23 - 2 = 21 Damage: 13 - 6 = 7 ]]

Leonard let out a horrendously loud wail. All at once he was experiencing rage, pain, shock, and confusion. This wasn't what he had planned. He wasn't supposed to get hurt...to feel pain. The thought had never occurred to him that he might be injured in a fight. "What are you doing?!" he wailed at the now evil creature he was facing. "I was just trying to help, and this is how you repay me?"Whimpering and sniffling he flew at the boy again, though with considerably less gusto...though he still managed to land a rather solid hit. Apparently he wasn't too considered with being injured in the process of body slamming his opponent. [[ HP = 10 - 7 = 3 Damage: 11 - 6 = 5 ]]

Davey fumbled at his belt for one of the two empty traps. The small box unsnapped, finally, and Davey pressed the button. Once it beeped, he threw it at the ghosts' feet. Er, metaphorical feet, that was. "I don't consider trying to kill me as 'helping'," Davey said. The trap doors flew open, and the light show happened once more. He kept his sword raised while waiting to see if the ghost would be dragged down, or if it would make an escape. Honestly, next time Davey was telling the Doctor to get his damn ghosts himself. For such cutesy little things, they could be vicious! [[ HP: 21 - 5 = 16 ]]

Leonard was too busy ranting at the boy to be grateful that he was trying to help him to even notice himself being caught by the lights until it was too late. He struggled, and made a damn fine show of it too, but he had started too late and was swept in before he knew it. Still, he managed a parting wail. "You'll regret thi--"

Davey sighed. Azrael was back in his sheath again, and Davey used his free hand to rub at his temples. Not only did he get the violent ones, but he got the talkative ones, too. Ah well, at least the Doctor would have some interesting (and chatty) specimens.
"One more trap," Davey said, staring at the only box left on his belt that didn't have a blinking light.
~Are you sure you should risk it?~ Azrael asked. ~Your performance so far has been underwhelming.~
Shrugging his good shoulder, Davey didn't admit that he'd been wondering the same thing. He could admit that today was not his best performance. That was no reason to give up. "If I'm going back injured, might as well have a full three ghosts to show for it."
Not that it would lessen the taunts from Doctor H, but Davey could at least be proud of himself for going above and beyond the mission specs.
"If it gets too bad, we can always... run away." Davey's mouth twisted on the last words. It left a sour taste, but he was soldier enough to know that strategic retreat was often the best course of action. ...Yeah, that didn't make him feel any better about the idea.
"Plus, we still have our ace up our sleeves," he added, brightening at the thought.
~That did go very well in training. Do you think you can do the same in a real battle, though? Especially given your track record today?~
"Won't know til we try."
Decision made, Davey went looking for another ghost.

((Entering from Boo ORP))
Siiiigh It was with quite a long sigh that Theodore Winston floated down the hallway of the house he supposed was his home. He's left the room with all the other Boo's and was now on what he liked to think of as a patrol. He wanted the leggy ones out, they were such a disgrace, with their legs and thumbs. Such a pity that they had to evolve such things to survive.
His mustache twitched as he heard the sound of a footstep, well well, he supposed he must have found at least one of them. He didn't have feet after all so those weren't his footsteps. Another sigh was exhaled and he floated around a corner only to come to a sudden stop at an open door, his bowler tilting slightly, skewed but not removed. Long black eyes squinted at the human from behind a gold monocle and then the Boo frowned, the only indication of which was his mustache being pulled downwards.
"Such a bother, did no one teach you etiquette? It is rude to enter another's home without a proper invitation." He sighed, again. If Theodore Winston had a favourite thing to do it was to sigh. Constantly. "I suppose I will have to be the one to teach you."
