I know this may surprise you, but Danny did not like ostrich in her face. She did not like them in a file, she did not like them in any style. She did not like them fried or boiled, she did not like them poached or broiled.

Moral of the story? Danny did not like this.

So she stood up and angrily mounted the ostrich. She lit up her hands with FEAR in preparation for some major butt kicking time.

Unfortunately, the ostrich was apparently just as fond of Danny as Danny was fond of it. It immediately bucked her off, and Danny went flying. She landed on the ground near Tybalt. "Owwww," she moaned.

Bix was puzzled, to say the least, but there was a crazy ghost and he was hostile. Bix was assuming it was he based only on it's wicked facial hair, but it could have been a woman ghost in drag... YOU NEVER KNOW!

Either way, he was pretty relieved that it seemed to only be attacking Halloweeners so far. Or Halloweinies! HA! He was amused by his own clever taunt but he'd save it for a good moment. He definitely had to tell Gale and Before that one!

Cass seemed to be on a bizarre beserker rampage, so Bix got her back with another shot towards the mad ghost. His shot was on target but the crazy boo seemed to ignore it. Apparently he was stronger than he looked.

In his hand his bow began to glow, it's first taste of FEAR beginning the path to his charged shot.

Charge attack? What's this? Hunters are the antagonists of Halloween students, and cannot use Fear naturally. In order to use their Fear attack, they must charge it up by landing three successful hits on a Fear-infused enemy. Bosses and Boos are Fear-infused. Another Hunter is not.

After obtaining three charges, a Hunter can use their Fear attack. Until then, they must hit normally.

Cass couldn't help but stare at the giant bird for a moment, despite it being sourced from a video game ghost. Ghosts were definitely high enough up on her rage-o-meter that normally she wouldn't stop raging long enough to look away. But it was an ostrich.. she didn't even..what was.... However, she soon looked back to the ghost and lifted her gun again, firing.

"That's a dirty trick, you miserable fslfe-rfldk"

there might have been some wizard swears in that line of dialogue.

However, it did seem that her aim was doing a bit better for the count. She actually might have hit something this time.Maybe she could aim at that stupid face-fuzz going on.

He summoned a huge wave of water that hit all the people in the room, the water slowly draining down the stairs and leaving puddles everywhere.

Bix sputtered, now getting a little pissed. It had been kinda amusing at first but that wave was pretty heavy and the albino hunter was sent for a tumble until he'd hit the railing of the stairs and held on. The idea of washing down all those stairs seemed like a bad one.

He angrily dragged his soggy self to his feet and aimed another shot at the monstrous ghost-wizard. His shot was a glancing blow and Bix wondered if the weight of his sodden clothes was affecting his aim. Despite the lame hit, Mina purred in his mind. He was close to being fully charged so his weapon was getting a bit... antsy.

Sparrow was not expecting the water - Jackdammit that was so damn cold.

Coughing, spluttering, and gasping like a fish, he dragged his bedraggled self to his feet, wincing as he did so. Water dripped down the bridge of his nose and the sides of his face, and his normally tidy hair felt plastered to his forehead.

He took two steps and landed in a puddle.

How very elegant of you, Sparrow Heartreed.

Grumbling, he pulled himself to his feet again, making an inaudible noise of discontent and exasperation. Out of all the things that might happen to him today, this had not been one of the ones he expected to occur.

He was hallucinating. He was definitely hallucinating.

Sparrow swung the scythe again, smacking it against the side of the creature in an effort to get it away from them all.

Now while Cass never considered herself a religious person, that oncoming wave of water caused her to pause and stare in horror as it descended down upon them all. For a few moments, Cass lost her footing and was swept away with it, finally crashing down onto the ground.

She was wet, her clothing was dripping, and frankly she needed to go stab a b***h right then. Nicodemus was humming in her head, it was a mellow noise, simply telling her she needed to get moving. And frankly, she did. Getting up and taking up her gunblade more firmly, walking forward towards the offending Boo to stab him with said weapon. It hadn't been the most... painful of all assaults, but she'd at least hit something with it, and now..

the runes on her gunblade flooded with a runic light.

Nicodemus had clearly gotten some of his fill of the FEAR in the creature.

Danny shook her head and sat up. Wow, ostriches should could pack a punch. She would have to remember that when she got back home. There would definitely be one more ostrich purchase at Amityville. She would ride it majestically everywhere.

Still, Danny wasn't too happy about being ostrich-punched still. She got a good knuckle sandwich into the ghost before he summoned his ginormous killer wave. Danny was smiling from the success of her punch, she didn't even see it coming.

Suddenly her tiny eyes went as big as eggs. It was like something out of a cartoon. Danny tried to run, even flapping her useless wings in an attempt to get away from the wave, but it was too late. Far too late.

The water engulfed Danny, and it was all over. She knocked out right there on the spot, and was unconscious for the rest of the battle.

The girl who was on fire seemed to be wiped out by the wave. It only made sense though. Fire v. Water? Fire loses.

Bix noticed Cass' weapon glowing and he could tell she was ready to unleash something wicked. At the same time the dog (as was confirmed by the awful wet dog joke) unleashed a badass looking attack. The hunter filed this away for later. It was the first time he'd witnessed a real FEAR attack besides those unleashed by the hunters themselves.

The young man moved for a better position when the wizard ghost turned on the dog. He'd seemed to ignore the hunters so far and he found it to be a relief. Bix only needed one more hit to be fully charged so he took aim once more.

He tried to be a little fancy, tumbling a bit and attempting to find cover, but there wasn't much up there with them to hide behind except for the unconscious fire girl. It seemed to be in bad taste to use her as a body shield so he didn't bother. Instead he took careful aim at the Boo and let an arrow fly. It was a solid hit and Bix grinned a bit.

Mina was now humming in his hand. The feathers seemed to blow with an unseen wind and the red gems on the bow pulsed with red light, revealing runes deep inside each of them. His next shot would be his charge if the battle got that far.

Cass tucked the gun of her weapon into her pants, taking up the Gunblade into her other hand, an eerie glow taking up the weapon as she braced it into her hands.

"You know what I can't stand? You." she said simply as she stepped back from the Boo, settled her stance, and then used her hips as a rotating point with which to jab the blade into the stupid ghost-looking thing..... However, in the name of all epic sadness, Cass's anger had her hit the stupid's things robes and get stuck. Fuuu---!!!

She hadn't hit the stupid thing at all!!!

Cass has missed catastrophically! GOOD JOB!!!

Sparrow gave the black dog an appreciative look. He had not expected that attack from someone who seemed so...well, surly, but the electric blue lightning bolts that had exploded from his body were...

There was no other word for it. Badass.

"Nice," said Sparrow, and gave the dog a thumbs up before swinging the scythe around again. Maybe, if he were careful enough, his attack would be just as effective.

Or maybe not, since he slipped spectacularly in a puddle and went skidding across the wet floor instead of hitting the mustached creature.

Which left the reaper feeling quite put out. And slightly embarrassed.
