It was a little difficult, maneuvering on top of the thin ice when he had a rather large sniper rifle slung over one shoulder, the strap digging into his arm. Gale's eyebrows drew together, and he grimaced - the first step had made a deafening crack, just like Bix's, but the second step was solid, which reassured him.
At least until he heard a splash. Twisting around, he could see water spilling over the paper thin ice around Bix's foot.
"Bix! Bix, are you okay?"
Worry was beginning to settle deep into the pit of Gale's stomach, but he could not stop now, as much as he wanted to just turn around and help his friends across. He had no way of knowing where it was safe to step, and moving all together was more dangerous, as it put more weight on one area - which meant that the only way they would be able to do this would be to each do it alone and follow their own separate paths, at least until they reached the other side.
Damn that Caelius and his vague instructions, Gale thought furiously. Jinhai made another noise of discontentment.

He almost didn't, if only to irritate the rifle more, but now was neither the time, nor the place, to squabble with his weapon. Clenching his teeth together, Gale stepped to the side this time, then quickly forward again.

Bix hissed a bit as he felt his foot plunge into the cold water. It was a good thing he'd chosen high coverage, warm clothes as his chosen outfit for battle. His boots kept most of it out but he felt a slow seep of icy water.
"I'm good.. just my foot." Was he good? His words said it but his tone seemed slightly panicked. He saw that Gale seemed to have found a solid spot but it was much too far and between him and that solid ice seemed to be more cracking surface underneath Tika's feet.
"Just keep moving. You're light on your feet. Think elf feet. Legolas feet." He hoped no one could hear him cause he was muttering it softly under his breath. He hopped over the broken patch of ice to the next one, hoping to find more of a foothold.

Bix didn't have to say keep moving twice. Or once. Tika was well aware that staying put could mean an icy and unwanted dip in the water below. The teen defiantly did not want that to happen. The question was WHERE was safe to move?
Gale not being on E6 anymore made the choice easy. Tika went ahead and moved over to E6. Then, semi following Gales hasty tactic, moves over to D6.

CRASH! The sound of ice collapsing could be herd, as both Ferdinand and Gale plunged into the icy waters. The paths the took crumbling. However, as Tikaanis follower her path, there was no cracking. She was on the right path. Quote: OOC: You've fallen in the water! Make your way back to the start! Both of you have also take -1 HP and are now both soaking wet and cold. Not a good combo...

Bix's next step sent him plunging into the icy water. It was a bit of a shock and he felt his stomach in his throat that one second before he fell, that one second when he realized his choice was the wrong one. Suddenly he was over his head in water and all the ice behind him broke away, leaving him no choice but to swim back to the ledge as fast as he could.
After hauling himself out he realized Gale had suffered the same fate despite having found at least one safe spot to stand. Tika seemed to be doing well and the ice under her feet didn't crack at all.
"There. We.. n..n..n..need to get there." He was shivering and he'd taken the moment to unsummon his weapon. She was doing him no good right now. The bag of marbles was tucked back into his belt and he chose a new path. He felt he needed to be faster to he took a jumping leap, attempting to cover more distance.

The string of curses Gale let out were probably not particularly appropriate for someone his age.
But dammit if the water was not freezing him all to hell.
Sopping wet, shivering, and angry beyond belief, Gale dragged himself out of the icy water. It took him a few moments, since his fingers were shaking so bad he could hardly grasp the side (Jinhai had slipped back into his unsummoned form, the silver ring on Gale's finger feeling frozen to his skin), but after quite a bit of effort, he managed to haul himself upwards onto the ledge.
Where he sat for at least several minutes, attempting to get some of the feeling back in his legs.
<< That was...unpleasant. >> said Jinhai.
"W-w-way to st-tate the obv-v-v-ious," Gale spat out, his teeth chattering violently as he pushed himself to his feet. There was no way he was just going to sit here and complain, so he quickly stalked towards the vast field of ice in front of him, determined to make it across this time.
[ Gale is going to F7, followed quickly by a leap to E7. ]

While Ferdinand managed to find the ice under him thick like an angus steak burger, Gale found the ice cracking under him. As gale reached the tile (E7) the cracks from before now caved in, sending him once more into the ice cold water.
Gale takes -1 HP

"I th..th..think I got this now.. Tika looks like you have to take the lead on this one." Bix hurried across the ice towards Tika, being careful to stay where he thought the thickest ice was. Hopefully his and Gale's faulty trips were enough to reveal the path for the others.
"Gale are you okay?" He was still shivering but no worse for wear. The other hunter had taken a second dip in the icy water. Hopefully he wouldn't get sick or anything. "Follow me."

Gale and Bix had fallen in the freezing water. It was hard for Tika to actually look back. But she did in horror. Not only that but Gale tried and failed AGAIN. The teens palm met her face.
This was nerve wracking to say the least. But they needed to get across. They needed to finish this mission.
You know climate like this for an Ice demon like me is actually quite nice.
Tika ignored Atti. She went ahead and took a step to a block before her.

"Tch..." She gritted her teeth as the ice started to crack beneath her feet, quickly taking a big step to the front to try to get away from it. The loud crack from Bix's direction prompted a frown from her; he was stick thin - she could probably break him in half... There was no reason for the ice under him to crack! Then again, it had already been established that the ice was of different thickness in several places.
Then it happened - she heard the distinct cracking of ice, followed by two loud splashes.
"BIX, GALE!" She yelled, watching as the boys plunge into the icy water. Every muscle in her body twitched as she almost leaped across to help pull them up. As they made their way back to the start, she turned back to look at the other end of the room; this was bad... Being cold and wet was not a good combination-
<Unless you are a hot ghoul with massive tits, anyway. Oh baby.>
-for anyone, and to make matters worse, the room was also freezing cold... And then Gale went crashing through the ice and into the water again, causing her to sigh and face palm.

Ferdinand heard the echo of ice under him as he stepped onto E5. Tikaanis was still safe but Ariane wasn't so lucky. As she stepped onto E4, the ice broke, and she fell into the freezing liquid.

Team BETTAH THAN EVAH!!
Before would have stayed rooted to the spot while the rest of his teammates went through the chilling process of discovering which was the safe path and which ended up in an ice bath. He would have, had Vanna not begun roaring in his mind for him to move it or lose it. Also, that this was a good opportunity for him to show off. (Show off what exactly? His l337 flailing skills?) Perhaps.
Because Before had the knack of finding the most direct of paths. Straight into failure. What? He couldn't very well hop to his left! Not with it all cracked 8CCCC Yes, he was no genius and tended to pick the worst of the lot, but even Before could tell when something was a guaranteed failure.

"Boss!" Bix reached out an arm as the female hunter joined the growing number of them who ended up in the icy drink. "I th..think.." he was still shivering, "there might only be one way across."
It seemed pretty unfair considering there was 5 of them and only one path. The odds were against them from the beginning! Thankfully with all the broken ice, the path was more clear for the others. The ice that he and Tika were following remained still while the rest of it was starting to become nothing more than loose ice pieces in still water.
"Follow us. Be careful Tika!" He hoped the hunter in front of him didn't find any tricky twists or turns in their path.

In all honesty right now. Tika was more freaked then anything. She was leading the group down the path. Being up front wasn't exactly ideal for the teen. But there was no time for being a frightened p***y.
"Y-you be careful Bix and just try to keep up." The words were cocky but her voice betrayed her. She was scared. Tika took a step forward.

Ariane was not in a good mood. Not that she was ever in a good mood since they went through the teleporting device, but this just took the cake, especially with Kintama cheering away in her mind. She ignored how numb her limbs were as she swum back to where she first started to cross, glad that she was a relatively strong swimmer. Pulling herself up, she removed the jacket tied securely across her waist, wringing the water out before putting it on, shivering from the cold.
"Let's g-get this over and d-done with," She grumbled under her breath, quickly stepping over the cracking ice to the solid one beyond that; the urge to punch something was growing stronger by the second.
