Nyx Queen of Darkness Crew

Posted: Mon Oct 17, 2011 4:11 am
Name: Nyx Queen of Darkness Soquili Owned: ( co-owns count as 0.5, minis count as a full Soq ) 13 (four of my 15 are co-owns.) Soquili Name: Coral (for a girl) Acanthastrea (boy—it’s Australian type of coral, known as Acan for short.) Personality: ( traits, likes/dislikes etc ) I’m doing this in female perspective instead of confusing myself and you jumping back and forth. XD Temper is kooky. She likes to do things her own way, even if they are a bit odd. She's totally the type to believe in Nargles. Coral is a very unique foal. She’s not forgetful like her grandma Dory, but is actually a bit ADD. At first she fears she’s like her grandmother and is sad and upset. But with time, she realizes if she focuses she can remember things and not get distracted. I’d love to have some plots where, she forgets what she’s doing then has to find someone to help her find something—eventually resulting in losing her own baskets when she has them. But over time, she gets much better. I’d also like her to be fiercely independent and boisterous. She likes to sing and dance, and often repeats herself. She's kind and intuitive. She has a knack for saying the right things at the right time, even if she doesn't understand she's doing it. She'd do anything to help a friend without questioning any repercussions. Future Plots: ( tell me what you have in mind for the foal in his/her future =) I have a few ideas of her losing things---eventually resulting in losing her own baskets. I’d also like extended RP wit her family, and possibly forgetting she’s met some family before and have to meet them again. I’d also like for her to be enamoured with water and kelpies. She has a strong desire to learn to swim, and meet as many kelpies and mers as she can. I have a few other ideas, but I don’t want to develop them so that she can grow up and be shaped with her siblings. Prompt Response: (Please note, I NEVER read any entries when I’m entering a contest—so if there be any similiarities, you’ll be the first to know since I won’t have read them LOL) Coral laid on her side with her head facing the sky. The stars illuminated the night as she laid back worrying. She’d recently met her grandmother Dory, who was….not quite all there. It was scary, she was so forgetful she’d had to ask her name at least six times in an hour! And after all, Coral was an easy name, right? What if all the things she kept forgetting was the same as her Grandma? Maybe she was losing her memory too! But she wasn’t old like Grandma…but she did forget things a lot. What if she had inherited it? Coral let out a long sigh as her siblings slept on undisturbed. Would she remember what their names were tomorrow? Would they or mom and dad get mad if she forgot about them? What if she got lost and forgot how to get home? What would happen then? Coral could feel all the anxiety pressing in on her chest, her breathing became heavy before a very reasonable idea struck her. If she forgot things, then…wouldn’t she forget she was forgetting them? Grandma Dory was always happy, she never looked said about losing things or not remembering—it didn’t seem to phase her at all. It wouldn’t be that bad then would it? Then no one would yell at her for forgetting her chores or eating a snack before supper. Coral gave a delighted sigh. Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad if she forgot some things. Not bad at all. ----- Thanks for the lovely chance dear!

Name: Ruhane Chiisai Soquili Owned: 2 Soquili Name: Slic aePie (Slick yeh-Pii) Personality:male Slick is a confident cold, often charging headlong into trouble. It shows, and often gets him deeper into the mudpit than he really wants to go. The odd thing is he likes it that way. Likes: Being part of the Problem, being part of the Solution, Practical Jokes, Physical Danger(Masochistic Soquili. XD) Dislikes: Being told 'Don't do that'(He'll often do the exact thing he was told not to do), spoiled sports, sore winners, anger issues female Slic's a real sweetheart. The only downsides to this are her distractability and the absolute timidity this filly's wrapped up in. It is so easy to turn this filly's head from what she was doing it makes teaching her anything difficult. A determination to learn means that if a challenge is presented, however, she'll stick her nose wherever it needs to be to learn more. Likes: Learning, Competition, critters, helping others Dislikes: poor sports in any capacity, hearing the words 'impossible' and 'can't', Bullies, Being made fun of Future Plots: I generally try not to plan plots. The future is supposed to just happen, not occur on a string of planned chances. I LOVE to rp, so if I get the chance, she'll definately have time on the block. ^-^ Prompt Response:Prompt You wake up one morning and realise that the whole world (well a couple of meadows and some woodland) is spread in front of you to explore so you decide to go on a 'grand adventure'. What happens during said adventure? Slic tilted her head softly out at the grass, peering through the basket's blanket to examine this strange place she was surrounded by. The sun glinted off everything so bright and pretty! Her eyes filtered over to that bright mare... The one that had spent the most time with the baskets, and waited for her attention to waver, an easy feat, before slipping out from under the blanket and slinking off. Once around the trees and out of view of the mare, she trotted about experimentally, testing her legs, before she began a gleeful walk through the area. The thin little blades of grass tickled her ankles and low-hanging leaves on bent branches tickled her nose and ears, and she gave a tentative giggle, playing with them for a few moments, before turning to look at something else. She found herself on a hill, overlooking a little valley with other foals at it's basin, watched over by a couple lazy adults more interested in conversation than actually watching the rambunctious little monsters. She started down the hill... And stopped, halfway, a heavy thud falling in front of her. She stared at it's maker... That stallion looked familiar, big and bulky, and with a stern look. A sheepish grin overtook slic's little maw as she started to back away, again, up the hill. The stallion followed, and once at it's top, nipped at her tail to chase her back into the basket. The blanket above her shook a little as she peered up at the stallion, who offered a soft smile, before settling next to the trio to talk to the mare that had taken the mother's place... Babysitters, apparently. She pouted in the basket, offering the stallion a silent raspberry, but settled in to think about the world, curious what else she could find about it when she was actually allowed out of this stifling little basket.

"I shall call him Squishy and he shall be mine and he shall be my Squishy. Come on, Squishy Come on, little Squishy." Name: ATh e a r t Soquili Owned: 12, 6 co-owns (and still looking for newbie co-owners :3)
Soquili Name: Istas ["Snow" - Native American] (female); Enapay ["Courageous Appearance" - Native American] (male) Personality: Likes - Flowers, puddles, bugs that are pretty colors, climbing Dislikes - Dirt that gets stuck in the mane/tail/coat, eating flowers, scratches, bruises, pain...
[+] Friendly - Istas likes to make friends, even if they don't appear to be nice. She'd immediately go up to someone and try to pretty much talk them into being her friend. They'd be wild flowers picked, games played, and many, many necks nuzzled. She wouldn't even understand if someone was hinting towards liking her -- Istas would just see it as a very close friendship. If the opposite gender (or the same gender) wanted to get her attention, they would have to tell her straight out that they were looking for more than just friendship. Everyone is a friend to Istas! (Even the less-friendly she'd try to make more friendly.)
[+/-] Focused - When something grabs Istas' attention, that thing will probably have her attention for a while. Mostly when it comes to things besides her Equine race, Istas would happily chase around a butterfly until the butterfly gets tired of flying. She would follow a rabbit until it goes down its hole for the night. When it comes to peoples' ideas, she understands the concepts very well. At a young age, as long as the person isn't talking fast nor trying to confuse her, Istas would probably be able to connect the gaps. If it did confuse her, she would not let it go. Bottom line is that she has to finish something once her mind and/or body has started.
[+/-] Brave - She treats her body when it comes to grooming like she's a princess, but Istas definitely loves to cause trouble with her courageousness. Climbing on top of boulders and attempting to climb up trees, Istas just wants to put herself out there and see other things. Her saying in life (she doesn't really know where she got it) is "things are always sweeter at the top"... In which she totally misunderstands the 'top', at first anyways. Istas does have a tendency to get hurt a lot, and then say she won't do it anymore, but she puts that at the back of her mind and continues the next day anyways.
[-] Disobedient - Istas just doesn't like following what people say; if they so go in one direction, she would definitely go in the opposite. There isn't very many times were she would agree to someone's ideas either. It's not the fact that she just disagrees, but more so the fact that she doesn't want to agree.
[-] Talkative - Although tied in with her friendliness and having a focused attention span, others do get tired of her talking. Istas doesn't really understand when one thing should stop; she stops mostly when her or the other person gets tired of hearing her. They either walk away from her, or tell her straight out that they're tired of ehr talking. Istas, however, doesn't take offense. She likes to talk and doesn't care if others don't like it (as much).
Future Plots: - "I'm... Like Grandma?!" : In an instance of time, probably transition from young foal to young adult, Istas will meet someone that she met before, but completely forgot that she met them. She would think that she has short-term memory like her grandmother, but instead, the friend would hint around the stuff that happened that day and she would slowly remember.
- "So that's what it meant?!" : With Istas' phrase for life being "things are always sweeter at the top", she's going to have to learn the metaphorical meaning of the phrase. This will hopefully be taught to her by some elder or someone just older than her in general (perferably someone that's not super nice... because it will be about power urges). She will learn the truth and decide (or be persuaded) if she really wants to be at the top or not... And she'll need to learn how to get there (whether by good means or not).
Prompt Response: Quote: You've just visited Grandma Dory at the beach, and whilst you had great fun playing in the sea etc, you were struck by how poor Dory's memory was. Your parents have told you she's always been that way, but it gets you thinking. Do you worry you might 'inherit' the memory problem? How do you think you would cope if it did happen? Istas looked over at her grandmother -- she didn't really understand how or why her grandmother forgot so much. It kind of scared her to think of her being the same. It wasn't because she wanted to remember things, but more so she didn't want to forget the important people in her life. She saw that her mother and father didn't seem to have the same memory problem, so was she going to be like her grandmother?
When she was a little ways off from her siblings and parents, Istas sat down on the ground and rested her head in the cool grass. She looked at the blades of grass that were nearby, just thinking and wondering what it felt like. There was sadness in her, feeling that it would be horrible if she couldn't remember her family and the other Soquili she met day by day, but what of everything else? If she got hurt one day, or Mommy or Daddy said something mean that made her cry, she could forget that, right?
She dug her face into the dirt just a little bit, frustrated on what to think. She loved her grandmother no matter what, so why would it be bad to turn out like her? Even if she did, it didn't mean that she wouldn't still care for others around her!
Realizing this, that she would always be a friend to all no matter what happened to her memories, she stood up again, this time, taller than before. Istas knew that she was who she was. Her grandmother loved her even though she forgot who Istas was at times, but there was still love! Istas knew it was very much there, and if she inherited the memory problems, she would be just like grandma!

Name: Marzipanz Soquili Owned: 10.5 I believe. ^_^; Soquili Name: Female Vanora: meaning a white wave.Male Bryce: meaning the speckled, or freckled, one. Personality: Female Vanora is a very dependable little girl who strives to take credit for things. It is because of this hunger for recognition that the filly often offers herself up for chores and tasks. She holds honesty up above everything else and believe's it's what creates strong bonds and everlasting relationship. When she does catch another telling a fib she can muster up quite an over-reaction. She'll puff up and bring on the tears and make whoever it was who was caught in his white little lie feel regretful. It is that guilt that they feel that she depends on to trust it wont happen again. Male This little stud of a colt is quite proud of his bright colors. A word that would best describe him is cutesy. He might come off as girly with the way he giggles or fawns over adorable things but he is very much a stallion at heart, finding girls to be adorable. Once he grows older he finds that he wants to 'catch' a girl of his own so that he may spoil her. His idol would obviously be his father. Future Plots:Female - Emotional Volcano: This would sprout from a Soquili lying to Vanora. Preferably somebody who she trusts very much or a family member even. She would unleash this huge fit and over react to the point of her disowning the other. This could end the friendship or be mended later on in life. - Taking Care Of Grandmama D: Vanora would take it upon herself to go visit her grandma every day, for her father's sake. Upon one of these meetings she learns of the forgetful trait of her family and grows weary of her thoughts. Possibly becoming a bit paranoid for an undecided amount of time. Male - You're So Gay and You Don't Even Like Boys: This plot would include another stallion, or even a mare who points out that Bryce is to feminine for his own good. He would probably be self conscious for a while before going to one of his parents for advice. - 'Catching' a Lady: He has this illusion that love is a game and that one simply has to catch a female in order to make it his own. This could be either a good thing or a bad thing depending on what sort of female he lassos. ( I have plenty more ideas, but I just ran out of time! D8 ) Prompt Response: Prompt 1 You wake up one morning and realize that the whole world (well a couple of meadows and some woodland) is spread in front of you to explore so you decide to go on a 'grand adventure'. What happens during said adventure? Glorious rays of morning sunshine decorated the content, blissful countenance of a slumbering colt who rested beneath the sheltering branches of a towering tree. This brightly painted child was known none other as Bryce, the speckled rainbow. Well, he was closer to a rainbow than most Soquili could ever dream to be. Sweet magenta eyes soon came to flutter open as distant song birds helped greet him on this fine sunny day. First came sleepy blinks as Bry attempted to rid the crust from his eyes, but almost immediately after realizing the position of the sun in the sky his big beautiful orbs snapped open in full awareness. It was nearly mid day! "Oh fizzle-sticks!" he exclaimed with a buzz of panic and disappointment. Today was the day he would get to see the world from a whole new perspective. You see, he and his family had shifted their sleeping grounds for the night, simply because it would make the journey to grandma all that much more enjoyable in the morning. In other words, it wouldn't take the whole day. Whilst they were nestling down for the night these lands were blanketed in a veil of darkness, and little Bryce knew that in the morning the lands before him would be anew and ready for experiencing. Since the fair haired child woke up so late his expectations were that his parents would be ready for them to hit the road. Both to his surprise and concern he found that the close bundle that his family had drifted asleep together in was now disbanded, and here was young Bryce all by his lonesome. Had they forgotten about him? The foal jumped to his hooves in haste, darting his head around in every which way. His ears were perked forward, nose sniffing for familiar scents of his parents, and hooves shuffling about as though he had to be quick and decide which direction to choose before he fell to far behind. Why would his parents leave him to fend for himself? How could they misplace him, out of all their children. Bryce with his distracting colors and flamboyant personality. "Mama!" he shrieked out in a high pitched tone, clearly far from hitting puberty. Fumbling around on his hooves it took Bry a few moments of consideration before darting off in a random direction. He thought that this was the way they were headed last night. Perhaps they had gone ahead, expecting him to catch up after he slept in? As much nonsense as that sounded like Bryce could only hope it was true. (( I would very much like to incorporate this into a real RP perhaps. If all parties are willing to participate and enjoy the plot.))

Name: stormflower Soquili Owned: 9 Soquili Name: F- Karena , M- Nalien Personality: Likes/Dislikes Likes-Cloud watching day dreaming(f)- exploring(m)(Gender wise it wouldn't matter really, but being male he would be a little more adventurous perhaps where being female she would have her head in clouds just a tad more) Collecting sea shells especially when it's with grandmother Dory Running Dislikes-Those who are rude These who pick on others and take advantage of those who are 'weak' Spiders, Snakes, and Rats (Oh my! xD) lol Basic Personality This one has a love for stories and adventure and could listen to stories others are willing to tell all day long whether they be real or those pulled from the clouds. She/he has a good time contributing to them as well often daydreaming of the different stories that have yet to be found. She/he longs to search for them so she/he can return to tell her parents and Grandmother Dory all about them. Family is another important thing, the most important thing. She/he would do anything for family, no one threatens that. She/he is a kind and strong soul that stands up for what she believes in and stands up for those that find themselves feeling down and low. They are the type that will come to the aid of a stranger if they are being bullied on the play ground. She/he can't stand to see others picked on because they are seen as 'different' or 'weak' or even 'ugly'. Future Plots: -She/he will long for a small adventure, to see what the world has to offer, but would also want to stay with the family and remain close. I imagine he/she would feel a close connection not only with his/her parents(naturally) but also with Dory. Family is everything though wanting to be well educated, family is more important so after seeing what there is to see she/he will return to be close to them. From there I'm not sure, plots tend to develop around me....they tend to come out of thin air at times. Right now I can't think of any, but as the basket pops and the personality is developed and the baby is rp'd and all, it'll open the door for so many possibilities. -I could see a little knight coming out of this one. Protecting and defending the weak. So finding a good friend through that, someone she/he can show to be strong too. -In foal days to help build up his/her strength and determination to defend those who are weak I think there would need to be a confrontation of some kind where one tries to bully her/him, but maybe she/he slowly realizes that 'this isn't cool...this isn't right' type thing. This would make her/him even more devout in wanting to protect others from being bullied and looked down upon *So far all plots would lead to personality developments and furthering that...that's all that's coming to me at the moment. smile Prompt Response:Prompt 2(as F-Karena) Quote: You've just visited Grandma Dory at the beach, and whilst you had great fun playing in the sea etc, you were struck by how poor Dory's memory was. Your parents have told you she's always been that way, but it gets you thinking. Do you worry you might 'inherit' the memory problem? How do you think you would cope if it did happen? She walked back with her parents in silence for a short time thinking back to her time on the beach with her grandmother Dory. At first everything had seemed normal, but soon Dory had forgotten not only Karena's name, but who she was. Had her father not told her ahead of time she wouldn't of known what to do. Knowing though she just smiled and re-introduced herself and found a pretty shell that reflected the color of the sky. For a time it distracted them both and they kept there attention on the sea and the many shells along the water's edge. Karena felt close to her grandmother and hoped that she could become closer to her and looked forward to her next visit, but she couldn't help but think if her father or if her or her sibling could start to slowly forget things. Karena went on to ask her parents what the chance was she could start to forget things was, but they reassured her that it wouldn't happen. The chances of it were very slim as Dory's affliction is a slight mystery to them. Karena wasn't too worried about being forgotten, but more so about forgetting. She could see how upset Dory got when forgetting a name or even forgetting entirely who Karena was. It was in those moments Karena knew she would be there to look out for her grandmother and her whole family no matter what happens. If she did start forgetting things though will she would keep strong and she hopes she would have a loving family surrounding her to help her through it. Until then, she will be the rock...the one to protect those she sees that are shy and weak. She'll go and see the world to learn what's out there to better help her family and those she loves and she will return to protect them and maybe start her own....until then she'll be a strong filly who looks up to her parents and enjoys time with her grandparents, collecting sea shells with Dory being there for her and anyone who needs her. ((I just want to say that though all the baskets are super cute this one was my fav because I think it looks like it could be a strawberry-lime slushy...or like my sis said a pale watermelon lol. Very cute colors and yummy for the tummy too xD no worries no eating this little one though
Thanks for this opportunity and Sayuri you will truly be missed my dear. <3))

Name: ladyfirefox89 Soquili Owned: 7 full owns, 3 co-owns Soquili Name: Male: Cilek Eguzki ((Meaning: Cilek- Strawberry in Turkish, Eguzki- Sunshine in Basque)) Female: Marrubi Sanaśā'ina ((Meaning: Marrubi- Strawberry in Basque, Sanaśā'ina- Sunshine in Gujarati)) Personality: ~S/he can only remember others by the hoof print they leave behind. S/he is very good at noticing little things. And can tell the difference between each print. ~S/he hates dry climates/weather. One of the main reasons being he ca not see hoof prints easily on hard dirt. ~S/he loves being at the beach. it is her/his favorite place to be. She loves playing in the water. It makes her feel revitalized. ~S/he is very good at reading the weather. S/he can tell when a storm is coming and when its dangerous to be in the water. S/he can also tell when it is going to rain. ~S/he has trouble reaping others. Its not that she has trouble really, she just never really notices how others are feeling. Or can not tell how they are feeling. ~S/he doesn't really see the memory loss as a big problem. Most days she doesn't even remember that she has memory issues. ~It takes about 3 months to be able to remember a face with a name. ~She has trust issues. She is almost too trusting. If someone tells her that they are her family, she usually believes them. ~She always presumes she has met someone, even when she has not. And giggles at the other horse at their bad memory when they say they have not met her, since she is convinced they have. Even though they have not.
Future Plots: ~Meet a soq who can become her friend. ~Have said friend take her on a journey to try and find a shaman who can fix her memory. Though they never find a shaman, it brings them closer together.
Prompt Response: I'm sorry, I can't make an rp responce nwn;;. I have to take the hour ride bus trip home and meet with bf so he can deposite his check.
Though one of her favorite things is to visit her grandmother. She doesnt mind that her grandma has trouble remembering her. She finds the joy of meeting new people exciting, and she thinks maybe her grandma feels the same way. So if she has to be a new horse to make her grandma happy, she doesnt mind.

Name: Exaleen2 Soquili Owned:6 overall 2 are co-owned Soquili Name:Girl: Afiry (Mixture of Swafi and Dory) Boy: Cardinal Personality:For Airy- She would be Nutty just like her mother, spunky with a kind heart, but a little forgetful sometimes. Her attention span sometimes loses its way when watching out for her, causing her to find adventure in everything she can get her hooves on. A slight dreamer, she finds herself thinking of grand tales and stories that she would share with her family and friends. Her mind would be open to about anything in this world! For Cardinal- The male foal would take right after his father. He would be a tad bit shy in front of females, but find it easier to talk to males. Easy going and proper, this little young foal would be the apple of anyones eyes. All he wishes is to make others happy and even better, do the right things in life. His heart would be pure as well as his mind would stay sharp! Future Plots: I would have to see the gender x3 Either way I'd have a family rp's along with a dramatic rp here and there! Prompt Response: (Not replying with a certain gender, so I apologize for using foal so many times in advance x3) Everyone had always told the newborn foal, "Thats just how Dory is." She was forgetful, loud, and more importantly, she was always being as fun as anyone could possibly be. Though she was a basket full of fun, there was always a turning tool that seemed to be....a little misplaced. Sometimes the mare would forget easy things, she would lose track of her words. Almost as if the words were never there, but she continued to talk anyway. It made the foal giggle, but also wonder. What if that happened to them? With a blink of the foals lashes, many wonders circled threw the new borns head, what if that happened to them? Eyes widening, thoughts began to whirl around, what if it was already happening, but they couldn't remember because they had already forgotten they forgot! A swallowing noise came from the foal as the tinkered in their head, a small voice coming from their vocals, "No, it cant have already happened! I'm fine, I know I don't have memory loss like that." Soon after speaking, the terrifying thought came back once more. Could they forever be tormented by the fact they could never remember anything?! Shaking their head, the foal began to pace back and forth. How would they ever know, none the less, how could anyone help them! A small cough came as the pacing increased, how would they handle life?! What if they forgot their name, or their parent's name, even worse, what if they forgot how to eat! Shaking their head harder, the small foal tried to think of something else. They wondered, had Dory ever forgotten how to eat? She couldn't be that old that she was unable to eat, or could it strike at at any time? Biting their lip, the small foal sighed. How would anyone be able to handle this kind of memory loss! Maybe their father could help, or their mom, or their siblings! Surely their siblings would help them, but what if they forgot them too... Pouting a bit, the foal stomped its hove against the ground, "No worries! I won't ever forget!" A smile found a place on the tiny face, as the foal began to bounce around once more. Their father hadn't gotten the memory loss problems, certainly they wouldn't either! They would be just fine, if they could only remember where the last place their father had gone...

Okay so after deliberating (slightly sleepy deliberation, only got 3hrs sleep last night, doing well this week XD), I finally came to a decision out of my favourite entries.
It was a difficult decision as there were many good entries, and as usual I wished I had more than one basket to give away. Thank you all for your hard work and for taking time to enter.
Anyways, and without further ado, congratulations to Scaramouche Fandango, I loved your prompt response as it reflected the family wonderfully.
Enjoy your new Soquili!
