Even though Maral was telling the truth, the female cub still felt rejected. She wanted him to be her friend and to be her bodyguard so she could go exploring - alright, so she had started the day trying to find just anyone and have some fun, but Maral had been the first one to actually do as she wished and to tag along behind her. Most of the bigger lions told her to go home, ignored her all together, or actually chased her back to her den. The younger lions were just useless.

"I don't need a bodyguard to climb the rock because that's close to the den. I will just go back to where I was before I saw you and get all the way to the top. You go and talk to your daddy."

Kosoko set her jaw and marched away from the male, back in the direction of Pride Rock, and tried not to pout too very obviously. She would have to just keep looking for someone else. And maybe find some way to make Maral wish he had gone with her to the top of the rock instead of being a little baby at the bottom.

"Bye," she said, looking behind her one more time before she sped up and ran away into the grass.
