Micail chuckled at the questions, "I suppose the Kit was weakened too....but like I said he was feral....Hm?" Mical looked back at the kit on his shoulders, "No I was young at the time, but still an adult. I know it boggles the mind that a kit could beat up an adult. But you have to remember that while the kit's body had not grown, his mind had matured. It wasn't like fighting a child. The perma was very cunning." He smiled as he stopped in front of his den, "Now Vic....are you hungry? I could go hunting for you if you like."

"Oh. Okay." Maybe it was time Vic stopped thinking about it. It would only confuse him more. Maybe one of these days he'd meet a perma so that he could understand what Mical was talking about.
Victorino put both paws on Mical's head to peer over it in order to try to get a glimpse of Mical's den. What would it be like? Was it cozy? Was it cold? Did Mical live by himself? There had been no mention of another fox living there. There was no scent of one when Victorino sniffed the air. But they had never talked about it.
Food? Now? Victorino wanted some yes. But for Mical to go hunt some for him? Victorino shook his head. "N-No." Unfortunately, and embarrasingly, Vic's stomach decided at that time to say that yes in fact it did want food and to feed it. "I-I mean, you don't have to go hunting."

Mical walked inside and reached back and picked up the kit and laid him on the warm bed smiling. "Well I think your stomach disagrees with you kid." He laughed as he nudged him with his muzzle. "Lay down and keep warm. I'll go hunt something easy so you don't have to be by yourself for very long." He chuckled as he turned and walked to the exit of the cave.
"Don't worry Vic. You will be safe here." Mical smiled before walked out of the cave. Rabbits would most likely be the fastest thing to catch, and luckily there was a nest of them nearby that MIcal could raid.

By himself long? That wouldn't be something new to Vic. The kit stared at the entrance after Mical left for awhile, trying to figure the older one out. Mical said that Vic had no one else so that Mical should take him in. He said he had a soft spot for pretty things. But that didn't really explain why the fox took Vic in. Was Mical one of those that picked up lonely foxes and brought them home? Had there been other kits he had done the same with?
Victorino snuggled deeper into the bed, waiting for Mical to come back with food. He glared downwards, at his paws laying in front of him since he couldn't very well glare at his stomach the way he was laying. Traitor. Now Mical left him to go do something he really didn't have to do. Vic was perfectly fine with getting food on his own. Not necesarily meat, since he had a hard time hunting, but he never went hungry. Victorino laid his head on his paws again, and looked at the entrance, waiting.

About a half hour after he left, Mical walked back into the cave with two rabbits between his teeth. They had tried to escape him, but he managed to track them down after they alluded him one. Trying his best to smile with the creatures in his mouth he walked toward the kit. He tossed one of the rabbits in front of him then dropped the other.
"Go ahead and eat up Vic." He smiled, "I know how hungry little kits can get. Next time I've decided to take you with me. I'm going to teach you how to hunt for your own food. It will be fun." The male chuckled as he leaned down and munched on his own rabbit.

Vic sniffed at the rabbit before moving closer to it. He looked from it to Mical then back. A whole rabbit? For him? That was...that was...Deciding to try to figure out Mical later, Vic took a bit of the rabbit. He chewed it up, swallowed, went to take another bite of it before he remembered something. "Thanks Mical." Vic settled back in and continued eating his rabbit.
Something registered in his brain and Vic looked at Mical again. "Y-You'd teach me how to hunt?" Sure Vic needed to learn somehow, but he was still certain that this day was too good to be true. He had half-expected Mical to just leave him on the pretense of hunting, pretending that the cave he had dropped Vic off in was his.

Mical laughed at the little kit, "You are more then welcome Vic." The adult finished off his rabbit, then tossed the bones and pelt into the corner. He had little projects where he used those supplies to build things. Maybe the pelts would be enough to combine and make something warm for Vic to sleep on. Smiling at the thought he was caught off guard by the child's question. "Hm? Of course I am going to teach you how to hunt. You need to be able to take care of yourself when you grow up. And I'm the only one here to teach you."
"Besides between you and me....I know how to make hunting fun." he winked at the kit.

Victorino grinned at Mical. "I can't wait." He frowned at something the only other adult he had met said. "But...I'm so brightly colored. That'll make it hard to hunt because the prey can see me." How would hunting for Victorino work if he was seen from miles away? Would he have to rely on Mical all the time for food? He didn't want that...
But he also didn't want to survive solely on fruit or fish either. Oh why couldn't he have been born with a coat like Mical's? His self appointed guardian had such plain lookinf fur, one that Vic envied.

He chuckled, "Oh little one...I will show you that that coat is not only beautiful....but it will be your greatest advantage when hunting." Mical smiled at the little kit, nudging him with his muzzle. "So don't make that sad face. I will start your training tomorrow, and you will see that is a very good thing that you are that color."
The male wandered over to the edge of the cave and brought back supplies to make the bed bigger. There wasn't enough to make a whole new bed, only to add onto the one that Vic already occupied. "Do you mind sharing the bed?"

Vic shook his head. "N-No." What was there for Vic to worry about sharing the bed with Mical? He had been nice to Vic so far, gave him no reason to be afraid. And it was just for tonight...right?
Vic scooted over to allow Mical to add the stuff he had to the bed. "Can I help with anything?" Vic kind of felt like he was taking advantage of Mical. Yes, the older fox said he would be his guardian. But he fed Vic, gave him a shelter, offered to teach him to hunt. There had to be something Vic could do to pay him back, even if it meant helping around their dwelling.

"I promise that it will only be for tonight. I'll make you your own bed tomorrow." Mical smiled at the kit, "I'm mostly just worried that you aren't going to be able to stay warm enough. It gets really cold at night here this time of year." He finished fluffing the bed and grinned in satisfaction. "Hm?"
The male laughed, "No I don't need help with anything." He curled up on the bed making sure that he wasn't crowding the kit too much, but moving close enough that his body warmth would keep the kit from freezing. "Just lay your head down and go to sleep. You look tired."

"Oh...okay." Victorino burrowed a little into the bedding, yawning. Sleep would be a good thing yes. Especially if he was going to go hunting tomorrow. What was Mical talking about? His fur being great for hunting? Vic couldn't wait to see what he meant.
Before closing his eyes Vic looked at Mical. "Good night Mic." The kit gave a small smile to the adult before doing as Mical said and laying his head down, eyes closed.

"Mic?" He mouthed the new nickname, and could honestly say that no one had ever given him that name before. Smiling, he watched the kit fall asleep, then laid his head down as well and closed his eyes. What a strange day it had been. Had someone told him that when he went out to get a drink of water he would come back with a kit that he promised to raise he wouldn't have believed it.
Laughing, he was thought about what to hunt for in the morning before falling asleep.

The sounds of morning softly reached Vic's ears. One twitched, then the other, as his brain started to register noises. Only then did his eyes blink sleepily open. The kit yawned and stretched, accidentally brushing up against something. Vic froze. What else was in here?
He looked around the area he was in before resting on the sleeping adult next to him. Oh. Right. He was in Mic's den. And Mic was his new guardian. And Mic...
Vic grinned and nudged at Mic. "Miiic~ Wake up! Its morning!"

"Ah!" The adult jumped up, looking around the cave. "What...what is it? Are we being attacked?!" He grabbed the kit with his paws and shoved him behind him for protection. "Where is the...in...tru...der..." Mical slowly looked back at the grinning kit, "Why did you feel the need to give me a heart attack so early in the morning?" He comically pouted as he laid back down on the bed.
"Go back to sleep okay?"
