Oh, God!
Really?
Lucien sighed and rolled his eyes at the screaming match between Leona and the bald chairman. His idea of caring extended to dressing like an idiot and doing only the coolest of socially conscious things without actually having to give an actual damn about what was happening in the world. Oh, he could spout off long diatribes about the "corporate machine" or "The Man" but they were mostly long winded speeches about things his pampered suburban life didn't know a thing about. They sounded fine when everyone around him was as stoned as he was. They didn't hold up to real logic.
Then the green haired woman got up and began to speak. With the bald guy screaming it was hard to hear her at first but obviously she knew how to overpower a crowd. He listened. Whoever she was she seemed to care more than he did about anything and wasn't shy. Lucien felt strange...tight...
He actually started to care what she had to say.

While people had been shuffling in, some angry, some exasperated, some flustered and some just downright curious another man had been lingering around the building oblivious to what was going in on the inside. Corey Boone often visited large city events, trying to find any possible way to make some good publicity for his business.
At first he hadn't been sure about how he could do that at a city hall meeting, but in the end he'd settled upon a classic. It might not be good publicity... but the sea of flyers advertising the arcade Electric Dreams on cars outside was publicity nonetheless.
Having finished for the most part, he shuffled curiously towards the building. As a knight now he did kind of have a job to keep tabs on things he supposed... and maybe the meeting would provide some important information. Or maybe he just was a people's person and REALLY liked to talk. Sliding his way in he grinned and waved to people as he passed, greeting people pleasantly despite the semichaotic aire of the room.
Todd Gray was not the sort that usually came to these kinds of meetings. He'd never been on the PTA or the neighborhood association. Though he did grill a mean steak at those occassional summer block parties in the neighborhood. Usually he just left stuff like this to his wife.
But things had esculated in the past year or so. Past the point of just sitting back. Crazy stuff was going on in his hometown. People getting hurt and going missing. He worried himself to sleep some nights that something would happen to his daughter.. something beyond the regular parental worries. It was hardly fair and really.. it didn't seem like the government and the law enforcement were doing a damn thing about it!
Having shuffled his way in to the seats, Todd couldn't help but bristle a little as he heard a woman shout, his teeth grinding. He'd dealt with her type before.. picketing building sites and fussing because they were taking down a tree somewhere. As if a tree were worth more then his daughter!!
"Maybe if people weren't dissapearing left n' right and the buildings and streets weren't getting all torn to s**t every night we'd have some time for 'recycling'." He grumped back, not really excepting a response, simply blowing off steam.
"What the hell do you think is tearing stuff up and making those monsters anyway lady? Renegade litter? Car emissions?" Freaking environmentalist morons.

Tallulah was here as much out of curiosity as she was to play damage control if things got out of hand. She glanced uneasily at Penelope as they took their seats, ascertaining that the younger girl was holding up okay. The meeting was already underway, but she had a sort of basic grasp of what was going on. How was it that the senshi had such a bad rap and the negaverse hardly even got mentioned?
"Heroes with bad publicity," she whispered to her companion, a sour look pasted to her face. A meeting like this was bound to attract the wrong kind of attention. There was no telling how many senshi had come to look out for their own reputations, but she didn't think for a second that there weren't also disguised negaversers somewhere in this room ready to add fuel to the pyre.
"It's a witch-hunt," she added, glad that she had recanted and allowed Penelope to come. It was good to have someone here who she knew shared her feelings, even if the rest of the room had might as well be a hostile sea of crocodiles.
She listened to the microphone and stewed. How the ******** had these people never realized that there were two groups in this war, and it wasn't the ones in kerchiefs and mini-skirts who were killing people? Tallulah ground her teeth. Perhaps she'd been living in too insular a group of senshi: once outside of it, the people of Destiny City were ungrateful jerks.
"Don't they know a superhero when they see one?" she groaned quietly to Penelope.

Kathryn had the dubious honor of making the meeting at the last minute. She'd been running around before the meeting and had almost forgotten that she wanted to attend. Instead of finding a chair and sitting down she leaned up a wall and scanned the crowd. She'd had a vested interest to come and see what was going on. Terrorists. Kathryn listened to the green-haired woman who held the floor at the moment. It was all she wanted to do at the moment.
The random encounter that she'd had with the strange young man Kathryn personally hadn't cleared up any of the confusion. Waking up to bird song in the morning and having no memory of ever falling asleep had been startling. Kathryn pushed back her bangs and let her eyes narrow as she took in the atmosphere.
"This is all well to discuss what to do - but has anyone ever asked one of these "terrorists" why they are doing what they are doing?"

Before anyone else in the room could respond to the debate on environmentalism in a city constantly getting destroyed, or Kyndall's impassioned, and spot on, questions, the roof gave way as if on cue. From it dropped the very girls in question, or so it seemed. Four skirted heroes, and perhaps some of the non-skirted ones, fell from the sky and landed heavily on table, or on top of people, and the 'leader' of the group landed on the stage.
She looked at Exasperated Wife and then grabbed her by the head, snapping her neck in a triumphant show of death that the crowd would understand, before quickly claiming the starseed inside her before she fell to the floor. She held the glowing crystal in her hand, so the rest of the crowd could see.
She hoped the boys had secured the entries and exits at her command, as the entrance had been rather rushed for the sake of drama. Always in the name of drama: a good entrance could not be wasted.
This was the first impression, after all.
"My ears are burning," Painite said, her eyes moving over the crowd. Short and Bald screeched and leaped off the stage, flying much faster across the ground than anyone might have give him credit for considering he didn't seem to actually have ankles or knees. "You lot must not be saying very nice things about us. That's a damn shame. For you."
The game was on.
(ROUND ONE IS BEGINNING.
This round is a surprise attack by the Negaverse! To drain energy, they can roll as many times as they like, within the time limit, and without double posting (this rule only applies to this round). Everyone else? Try not to die/to find a good place to power up!
This round will last until 5pm PST. I will not be here to end it, but as soon as it is 5pm PST, about two hours from now, everyone can start fighting and defending themselves!
To attack someone, you can roll one 100 sided dice every hour period! (5 -6 pm, 6 -7 pm etc) It does not have to be an hour after your last post: just some time within each hour. Like at 5:45 one round, then 6:35 the next. That's fine.)
OKAY, have fun! Be creative. Kill as you would like >> Fight hard!)

Kyn was startled out of her rant. She turned to the back of the room and looked at the women who spoke. She blinked, trying to figure out a reply.
"That's a great idea!" she exclaimed, sweeping her arm over the room. "Why don't we ask them? Do you see any of them here? Do they stick around once the damage has been done to chat? Just how do you propose we ask them?"
To be honest, the woman wasn't being entirely rational. She only saw one side of the argument and only felt the pain of her loss. Maybe it was a witch hunt but she didn't particularly care. If these girls weren't above board enough to stay out in the open all the time that led her to suspicion. The fact that no one seemed to know who they were. Even Clark Kent was made suspect every once in a while.
"Furthermore, who's to say those girls didn't take the missing people? It's not like we can find them and how often do you know of where fifty people disappear overnight without so much as a trace? Can you prove it wasn't them? If it wasn't them why haven't they come forward? If they're really so good why don't they come out and offer to help? Why hide?"
As if on cue the skirted foes came bursting through the ceiling. She watched in horror as the leader casually killed the bald chairman's wife. Her eyes widened in surprise. How could Tony possibly think these people were any good whatsoever? It only confirmed in her mind that he was being used or brainwashed.

Jarosite had slipped around from the front, slamming a good heavy fist into each of the ushers (taking their energy too). He heard the booming voice of Painite through the doors and took that as he cue to slip in and lock it behind him. He stood in his get up in front of the door, resisting the urge to summon his picks. And resisting the urge to summon his true outfit too.
The shorts were riding up in the most awkward ways...
His silver eyes watched the crowd with a smirk on his face, and he moved from his position long enough to drain one of the people in the back.
All hell was breaking loose and it was wonderful.

Sugilite had followed to the roof and kicked in with the others, landing slightly awkwardly on the table that she hadn't been aware of until it cracked under the accumulated weight of her (and several large bits of roof, she reminded herself). As the dust and rubble cleared, she heard screams and Painite's voice. Seems the show was underway. Her heart pounded in her mouth, and she could feel every inch of her body tingling and alive. Straightening up, she kicked a bit of table away and grinned a wide smile that was pure exuberance and burning excitement.
"Come now, come now, don't look so scared. Turn that frown upside down, the senshi are here to save the day!"
Leaping down from the table, she grabbed a frozen civilian and pulled them close, plunging her hand into their chest and pulling the starseed out. Then, carelessly, she let the motionless body drop to the floor and began to stride forward into the cluster of people.
"Smiles all around everyone!"

Tate could not believe what she was seeing. Were those... senshi? She squinted and leaned forward, apparently nonplussed by the exasperated wife's murder at just that second. Her mind was occupied by the sudden appearance of the senshi (???), so much that she didn't think about her newly-gained advantage in telling the bad guys from the good.
When she remembered it, there was screaming and fleeing civilians. Perfect cover, really; would anyone noticed the professionally clad young woman striding towards the greatest concentration of people to become her alter-ego? Probably not. Page Avalon concentrated, picking apart the auras for--
Yes. Negaversers. Should have been elementary, really. Obvious, even, she didn't know why she hadn't thought to transform right there... Maybe--
Well, first, she had to actually find an enemy to fight. Avalon stuffed the letter that appeared back into subspace, now that she knew how, and picked up her apple instead.
Oh gosh, Mina didn't even know what to do with herself. A senshi attack!! Right there! But wait... not so much, because that was General Painite. A Negaverse trap, even better. She laughed, exhilarated, and didn't even bother to hide before turning towards her companions. Captain Borgite brushed imaginary dust from her military jacket and shouldered the axe she had just upgraded to.
The nearest civilian was staring at her, wide-eyed terror on his face. She gave him a little smile, the tiny shy smile she'd often given the camera man at work. Then Borgite plunged her hand into his chest and yanked it free.
It was a shame, really, she thought he'd really liked her!

Well. They didn't look like any senshi Tallulah had ever seen - and they didn't act like any senshi she'd ever seen, either. She was perhaps preternaturally calm when the impostors punched through the roof, but it was made up for by the panic that erupted around them. Biting back bile - screechy wife had just been murdered in cold blood for all the room to see - she wrapped a hand around Penelope's good arm.
It was lucky they'd arrived late and taken a position on the aisles, which made it easier to get out of their seats, but the room was crowded and panicked. She hadn't been expecting this, so she hadn't scouted out good places to power up.
"Under the seats probably isn't an option," she said to Penelope, although she doubted the other girl could hear her much over the sudden panic. Think, Tallulah, think, she first urged, and then quieted the mantra - it was distracting. Instead she glanced desperately around the meeting hall, eyes finally coming to rest on a leaning stack of voting booth partitions by the back wall.
It wasn't like she needed a sign. "Come on!" Tallulah hissed to Penelope, tugging her along towards the promising blind. In this mess, hopefully no one would notice them sneaking off, right?
No, definitely not senshi, she thought as they crawled behind the barrier. "Heroes with terrible press," she amended, pulling out her henshin pen and holding it close. "Europa Eternal, make-up!"
The sixth sense that came with her powered form only confirmed what Europa had already suspected: Negaverse. "Time to go unmask some bizarro clones," she said, stringing too many comic references into one sentence for it to still possibly be coherent. "You okay?" she asked Penelope. "You ready to go? Because if you're not... maybe you should just stay back here?"

She knew it was too damn good to be true. Coralie Westerman had kept herself quiet in a back corner of the room the moment she had entered. One of Blanche's suits had been tailored to fit her slimmer, more juvenile form, pale glasses that had fake lenses in them balanced on her nose as she scribbled industriously on the legal pads her previous self had preferred. Even her hair had been changed a bit -- disguise was always useful. It wasn't that the teen really had that much to hide from her senshi comrades, had she known they were in the room. She simply did not want anyone to connect the hairstyle with the teenage girl.
She had a lot to hide from people in general.
The costumes that the Chaos-aligned were wearing were horribly off. A sneer tilted her lips at how inaccurate they were even still after all this time. She had seen the clips of Sailor Nea from almost two years ago now, she had been perhaps the closest but still rather far off the mark. Anyone who knew anything about the damn senshi would have known immediately something was off. But no one cared about the senshi. They were just another group of city-destroying troublemakers that gave their blood every day to protect the goddamn sheep that were the inhabitants of this planet. Was it any wonder she wasn't volunteering to die for them?
Her action was really quite swift. Grabbing her chair and the abandoned one next to her, Coralie grabbed two of the chairs and pulled them so the tops of the chairs she grabbed rested on the top of the ones in front of her. It made a fort of sorts, not really obstructing her from view, but enough that her identity was at least slightly obscured.

Kathryn bit back the harsh reply she wished to give. Apparently her idea was not good enough for the speaker to consider. But that was Kathryn. She didn't wish to take sides. Being objective ... neutral. That was more her style. This wasn't the appropriate time to hash it out with a total stranger. Kat narrowed her eyes in consternation before scoffing silently. Maybe for the rest of the night she wouldn't offer her suggestions.
Pushing herself off the wall that she'd been leaning against Kathryn shifted her position. All in all so far this meeting wasn't what she'd hoped. There was no concrete facts being presented. Maybe she should just leave before things got out of control.
It was at that moment that the ceiling seemingly burst into many fragments and suited figures dropped down. Kat's breathing picked up as she watched one kill the wife of the mayor. This was definitely not of the good. At least she was close to the exit. If things got out of hand too fast that was one possible avenue of escape. Crouching down Kathryn made herself shuffle awkwardly towards the door she'd come through what seemed like moments earlier. Surely she'd be able to get out of here.

It was like a nightmare. No, this situation was worse than a nightmare; at least a nightmare ended when you woke up and you knew it wasn't real. This? This attack was very real... too real.
Penelope couldn't help but scream whenever the exasperated woman on stage had her neck snapped quickly, ruthlessly, by these... these imposters. There was more damage all around her--energy being drained, starseeds being stolen. These were no Senshi, no matter how much they claimed to be. Her heart fell into the pit of her stomach, and her hands began to shake, sending small tremors of pain through her injured shoulder. Not again. Not so soon. Why... why did the Negaverse seem to be around every corner?!
She didn't resist as Tallulah grabbed her good arm, and she bit her lip hard as they struggled towards the voting booths. Yes, the jostling hurt, but they had to get away do... do something. Or rather, Tallulah did. Eternal Sailor Europa was far, far better equipped to handle this situation than Sailor Pasiphae on the best of days; today was not the best of days.
Still, when Europa turned to her and suggested that she stay behind... Penelope crimsoned at the thought of bowing out a fight. Her hands continued to tremble. She didn't want to do this. She didn't want to do this at all. She wasn't sure she could help in any way whatsoever; in fact, she was certain that she couldn't. Sailor Pasiphae was nothing but a liability, a joke. But she coudn't let Europa face this alone; they were both Jovians, right? Europa had come to check on her when she was injured and was working to put things right... no, Europa couldn't stand alone. So, she said the transforming words, "Pasiphae Moon Power, Make-Up!"
Once henshined, Sailor Pasiphae adjusted her sling and licked her lips, her voice nervous as she answered, "I... I don't think I can fight but... if there are any civilians you can send to me... I'll do my best to shield them. I'm sorry, Europa... I'm so sorry..."

What. The. ******** was all for paying lip service to the environment if it meant pissing off his parents and getting laid. He was not, however, ok with getting killed for the cause. As screams erupted around him and everything fell into chaos he didn't really know what to do. At least his sign was on a somewhat study piece of wood. He'd done baseball when he was younger and knew how to swing a bat. If any of these so called "terrorists" or whatever they were got in the way he had no problem taking them down to get out. After all, he didn't care what they were. They were killing people.
This was getting too real for his tastes.

"Why are you apologizing?" asked Europa, shifting in the confines of the booth, trying to get out without disturbing Pasiphae's injured arm any more than she suspected she already had. "You've already done more than I expected of you in your state just by being here."
She glanced out of the booth and then winced back at Pasiphae. "I'm not sure how much they would trust you given the circumstances, but I'll try," she whispered. "I've got to go and, I don't know, rip some christmas decorations off fake fuku." There was no polite way of putting it (nor did there need to be): those costumes were awful.
Europa slipped out of the booth, though it was difficult to be unobtrusive when you were in turns dressed shades of white and ice blue and wearing a bright orange handkerchief. Assuming there were other senshi here, and assuming they'd gone to power up, there ought to be other appearing-
She scanned the crowd quickly and spotted a flash of pink, and then a familiar pair of pink pigtails...
"Princess!" yelled Europa, making a beeline for Chibimoon. Once she had an ally she could better assess the situation. There were too many hostiles here - both negas and civilians bent on a lynching to let your back go unguarded. Landing beside the princess, Europa shot her a grim nod.
"What do you say we reveal some of these impostors for what they really are?" she asked. "Pick a target and I'll help you strip them."
Anyone with eyes ought to be able to tell these weren't real senshi! Their costumes weren't even close and the colors were all wrong! Maybe, thought Europa, with the real heroes on the scene they'd realize their mistake?
