"I see....there's only one choice then..." Sliding off his desk, the Professor placed a hand on Riku's shoulder, then reached for Lucien. Pushing one and pulling the other, he all but slammed the children into one another "Congratulations, you're now partners!" He announced with a grin, then immediately turned and moved behind his desk "If you're too weak to survive on your own, strength in numbers is the way to travel. Tactic or Strike would probably be giving you an earful right about now..." Rook stated plainly as he dug through the drawers of his desk "...but this is the Guard Class. A shield is strong, but it will never match that of a wall."
Straightening a little, the Professor handed two Pokeballs to Riku, and then three Pokeballs to Lucien, along with a Potion for the boy "Standard supplies for the new guy, and half the supplies for stage left."
"You'll be working together for the course of this mission, one will I'll allow the madame to explain" Rook looked to Lucien, then gestured to Riku "She'll also be the one directing you to the Island."
[Riku gained: Pokeball x 2]
[Lucien gained: Pokeball x 3, Potion x 1]
((Alright, time to explain the differences of venturing in pairs.))
((For the sake of Sam (Yes, I've officially shorted that long username to just Sam.) I'll start by explaining the normal way. Normally when traveling through an area you'll roll a 20 sided die just like you did in battle. If the number you rolled matches something on the encounter sheet you'll encounter a Pokemon. If you do not you'll simply continue forward without consequence.))
((Keep in mind all encounters are mod controlled. When and if the Pokemon shows itself, or if it is spotted is the responsibility of the moderator not the student.))
((Now then, the pairing difference. First and for most when making travel posts you two will trade off back and forth. This means that is Riku posts first and doesn't roll anything, Sam will make the second post. If he doesn't encounter anything Riku will post again. It'll basically go back and forth like that till you encounter something.))
((Secondly, Area Guardians will now appear in pairs. Meaning a Double Battle...which I will explain when and if it happens.))
((Oh, and additionally, if you roll a Passive Encounter (The Pokemon doesn't leap at you fangs first attempting to rip your face off.) it's possible to switch who fights it. Allow me to better explain. Say Lucien encounters a Magnemite, but the Magnemite hasn't attacked or given some sort of challenge, it's possibly for Riku to fight it instead if Lucien chooses not to.))
((Any questions?))

Lucien listened in on la cheri's report on her failure during the mission. His eyebrow raised at her description of the so-called "mauling" she suffered. True, she did seem to be limping slightly- so a bit more violent than the types he was used to dealing with. He snuck a glance at Renoux, who shivered imperceptibly with anticipation- whether the Pokemon wanted to prove itself, or it was apprehensive about the mission ahead, he wasn't sure, but he was concerned, nonetheless. He had won his first battle in the registration process, but that was strictly a training excercise, nowhere near a real-world applicat-- Mon Dieu, why have I just been smashed against la petit cheri? Partners? Quoi?
He turned to his so-named associe, feeling slightly awkward. This was the closest he had ever been to a femelle in... well, ever. He was 13, for faith's sake. He turned to her as Monsieur Rook went behind his desk, handing him a batch of supplies. He ignored them for the time being, trying to gauge his new associe on visual cues alone. Well, her Larvitar seemed strong enough to handle itself- well, if it wasn't for the fact that it had failed as well, by extension. Ah, well. C'est la vie. They both would benefit from a partner, as they both were rather... inexperienced in these matters. Lucien smiled a bit wider than was usually provided to societe, and extended his hand, hoping he seemed... comforting.
"Enchante. My name is Lucien. And, you are Madame...?"
((Don't worry about it- everyone calls me Sam. EVERYONE. You are not the first, and you certainly won't be the last, I guarantee it.))

Riku gladly took the pokeballs thanking Professor Rook, happy to be given another chance at trying to obtain the Chrono stone but also surprised when she heard that the male beside of her would be accompanying as a partner. The girl was fairly friendly and despite her youth of ten years, she had known plenty of people girls and boys so she was perfectly comfortable associating with people. She hoped that just because she had failed, the boy didn't think she was weak. As he introduced himself, she smiled back in a friendly manner. "Nice to meet you, Lucien. I'm Riku and this is Ryuu." she said, referring to her Larvitar beside of her. Though Riku would much rather like trying to do things on her own, she would probably benefit from this and perhaps they could go farther into the depths of the island.
She did wonder if she would run into either the Sandshrew or Phanpy again. There wasn't any real way to repay them, but the girl hoped to get the chance to thank them for their help. There was also that Growlithe or Roggenrola that she'd like to battle again... This time, she would do it the old fashioned way- in a pokemon battle! "The ferry to the island is close to the pokemon center so we should head over there. I'll tell you the mission on the way." The girl was definitely eager to get going and ready for her second chance on the island.

Lucien nodded respectfully to both Madame Riku and her own little one, Ryuu. She appeared... apprehensive. Rightly so, since she had been- by her words- mauled, on her last venture to the island. Lucien's mouth twisted ever so slightly as he pondered this- they would both have to be on top of their game if they were to succed. He could only hope la petit cheri could hold her weight.
Lucien nodded again as Riku explained how things would... operate. He was glad of the nearness of the Pokemon Center to the ferry- if Renoux was injured, he would be able to get him to safety quickly. And that was what was most important. Lucien's mouth tilted slightly in a half-smile, and he gestured toward the door.
"Well, then... lead the way, mon cheri," he said, following her out as she left.

After Six got his pokelot, he managed to find his class. He was in the Guard Team, for which suited him well. He did endure a lot of thngs; physically and emotionally. He walked into the classroom and started looking around. He started rembering times back then in his childhood. When was the last time i actually went to a school? he thought to himself. Six didnt really like to remember his past. It brought up too many emotions. So he shook his head and suppressed the emotions like always and focused on what was happening now. He looked around for the Instructor. He saw a man sitting at a desk facing all the other desks. He assumed that was the Instructor. He approached him with ease. "Hi. Im Six. Im new to the Academy. Is this where the people placed in the Guard Team come?" Six asked while also introducing himself.

What Six would find behind the desk however was in fact not a man, but a Bisharp garbed in a half shredded black coat. Hanging just above the desk as if awaiting the child's arrival was a rather large black pinata in the shape of a shield. Seeing that the boy's attention was focused in the proper direction, the Bisharp took a match, struck it against part of his armor, then proceeded to set the pinata aflame.
The fire started slowly at first, but quickly grew into a full blaze. Rather then the typically expected flame however, this fire was black. As it consumed the pinata, the thing abruptly exploded, showering glittering bits of who knew what around the area.
Six would hear a faint clatter following the bang, and when he turned to look he'd see a darkly clad man, arms cross, standing atop one of the students desks. Smirking slightly, the man awaited the child's reaction. He'd only see this trick moments ago while passing the Strike Class in the hall, but it seemed a magnificent way to make an entrance!
Pushing his chair back, the Bisharp suddenly stood up ">Your coats on fire.<"
"My what...?" Rook looked over his shoulder and down to discover the edge of his coat was indeed on fire. "OH DEAR ARCEUS!!! PUT IT OUT! PUT IT OUT!!!" The Professor screamed, flailing his arms wildly and falling off the desk. Once he was back on his feet he promptly began running around in circles like a mad man till the Bisharp hit him with the Fire Extinguisher from the hall.
"Thanks...I needed that..." The man remarked to the Bisharp, breathing slightly ragged. It would seem that Six's instructor was a tad on the quirky side.

When Six looke more closely behind the desk he realized it wasn't a man, but a Bisharp. He saw the BIsharp strike a match against an armour and lit up the pinata that was hanging right above the desk.
The pinata was consumed by a rather unusual flame black fire. Soon it exploded surprising Six, making him take a step back but still taking notice that his Snover was behind him. After the pinata exploded, glitter soon surrounded the area making Six more aware of who knew what would happen next.
Six hear a clatter that was followed by a thud right behind him. He turned quickly and went to a karate stance and so did his Snover taking a defensive stance. Six was thinking that there might've been another test to see if he was truely Guard Team material.
As soon as he turned, he saw a man with his arms cross on top of a desk. He then noticed that the corner of his coat was on fire. The Instructor must've noticed as well seeing as he was panicing, fall to the floor and hit with the fire extinguisher. Six soon started to burst into laughter along with his Snover.

"Yes...well then..." The man dusted him self off and proceeded around the desk at the front of the class "Welcome to Akumu Academy, and more specifically the Guard Team" He plopped himself in the chair, swinging his feet onto the metal surface of his desk "I am Professor Rook Parnasus VonTrune, I'll be your instructor during your time at the Academy." Despite what had just occurred, the Professor seemed to be stating all this rather calmly.
"Now then, are there any questions before I brief you on your first assignment?" He asked, hardly cracking a smile now.

Six was still laughing, but by the time the Instructor had sat down behind his desk he calmed down and went back to a serious face. "Hello, i'm Six" he properly introduced himself. I've not questions at the moment." he said answering Professor Rook's question.

((PROFESSOR MODE ACTIVATE: You missed a ", you forgot to capitalize the I in I'm and the H on that last He. Secondly you don't use a period if the part right after is something like " He said. Additionally your first sentence could have used one more comma, it was a bit of a run on.))
"Yes I heard you the first time. I was in a Pinata, not rendered deaf" He commented with a slight wave of his hand, leaning back in his chair. "Well then I suppose we'll begin. Your first assignment is to go to Beginner Island and capture a second Pokemon. One won't be enough for the challenges you're going to face" Rook sounded a bit bored as he spoke, his attention upon the ceiling rather then his student.
The chair rocked back and forth on two legs a few times, before the Professor abruptly allowed it to drop. Reaching into one of the drawers he pulled free three Pokeballs, and a single Potion upon the desk "These supplies will be provided for you on this particular mission...but don't expect things to be handed out to you all the time" Rook stated, trying to make the point clear before continuing "While on the island you must also find a Chrono-Stone. An ingredient for something you'll be needing in the future."
"Go to the docks to get to the island. They're at the Pokemon Center, go around back and go down the stairs...but remember not to go all the way down...few students come back alive from that experience" The Professor rose from his seat, walking around the desk "Now scoot. Off with you. I need to prepare for the next students entrance" He said, dismissively shooing the boy toward the door.

((I'm assuming that correcting is a regular thing to people who aren't very grammatical?))
"Well I'm sorry. I had no idea you were in the pinata. Plus I didn't think you would have heard me." he said trying not to be sassy like he normally would be if a person would've given him the same response.
Six stood there patiently as he heard what his first assignment was going to be. He had to catch another pokemon. "Hmmm...I wonder if there'll be and dark type pokemon. he thought to himself. He would love to have a dark type pokemon, but he would never love it more than his beloved Snover.
So now he knew his mission: Go to the Pokemon Center. Go around the back and head down a flight of stairs, but not too far, and then head to the docks to take him to the Beginners Island.
Before Six left he was given three pokeballs and a potion. Equipment for a new pokemon trainer. Before he left Six had a random thought. Actually, after that thought he had more questions rather than just one, but decided to just let it go like everything else he had to do to his past life.
Before he left he asked one question. "Do I come back to the classroom after I complete my assignment?"

((For my students at least.))
Rook actually didn't respond at first, more so from shock then anything else. It was perhaps the stupidest question he'd all day! "Well the answer to that should be obvious" Was his only response. Six would hear nothing further as the Professor promptly jumped out of the second floor window.

((You really must not like me .____.)) Again, Professor Rook gave him another smart remark. At least Six asked politely. He then walked out heading to the pokemon center.

Nick walked into the room. This was a class, right? Seemed a little... off. He wondered if he should call out Arthur as a "just in case", but decided against it, as that might be considered rude inside a classroom.
He decided to sit back and let things happen. He was on the teacher's territory and didn't want to be rude.

What Nick would find would be a sight a far cry from those met by students previously. There was no absence of the Professor, no theatrical production of the entrance; rather the man was sitting right there in his desk, totally oblivious to the child's presence as he starred intently at a television screen.
At first one might think he was looking over an important message of some sort; but while Nick couldn't see the screen itself, he'd be able to hear what was on it "...And we now return to Pokemon Inlove"
"...Rose, there's something I must tell you." - Male Voice
"..Not now Damien, Xavier will be here any minute!" - Female Voice
"..I know, I can sense him...he is my evil twin after all..." - Male Voice
"What? But he's a Ninetails!" - Female Voice
"Yes. The truth is, I'm not a Cyndaquil...I'm a Vulpix!" - Male Voice
-Shocking and Dramatic Music-
-Cliche Ending Credits Music.-
"...why? Why must it only be on once a day!?" Rook suddenly shouted, shaking the screen as the music continued to play. It was then that the man took notice of Nick's arrival "Bwha?...WAH!!" The Professor cried out, immediately toppling over with chair and TV set. A loud crash could be heard behind the desk, followed by an arm being thrust upward into view "I'm ok!"
Scrambling to his feet, the black clad man thrust his arms forward, carious bits of confetti spraying out from within his sleeves WELCOME TO THE GUARD TEAM!" He called out joyously, clearly pretending as if nothing happened.
