Huntail 8 HP
Slow and steady might be enough to win the race. This pokemon was a lot stronger then he had guessed. Underestimating an opponent was bad too though. Instead he tried to use his other maneuver once again. The fire dog managed to leap into a run, a focused glint visible in his gaze despite one being covered by a monocle. He was aiming to charge, swerve to the side and then Bite down on his opponent from the right this time!

With that, the pair were able to capture the Growlithe and he is a good addition to their team.

There would only be a single problem with the Growlithe's plan. He wasn't thinking three dimensionally! Twisting his body, the Huntail would propel himself directly upward, seeking out the areas of the ocean well out of the canine's reach. After all, the Fire-Type had yet to try dogpaddling his way around!

It was true, the dog hadn't tried swimming. For obvious reasons since he was a fire pokemon. However it looked like Sir Aiden would need to try sometime soon. The eel had managed to evade him completely. Padding with paws practically flailing around, he began swimming trying to get away from the Huntail. Hopefully he would learn and move fast enough to avoid the oncoming attack

Of course, while swimming might aid the Growlithe in catching the Huntail, the odds of escaping him were laughably low. Unlike the flailing canine, his opponent was streamlined; built to move quickly through the water with the barest flick of his tail. Twisting about, the Huntail would dart off, coming up behind the Growlithe with the intent of slamming into him head log with another Body Slam!

Luckily, he was pretty good at swimming. The random flailing seemed to push him away from the eel in the nick of time and he avoided being slammed into by the swimming creature. This time, he tried to swim again and use this to his advantage. Hoping it would help add to his strength, he headed toward the Huntail from above aiming to bite once more!

The Growlithe was fairly fast but the eel was faster. Even his newfound swimming skills were not good enough. After taking that hit, the fire dog collapsed on the ground. The battle was over and unfortunately he hadn't come out the victor.

The water would evaporate, the terrain giving way once more to shadow, and the Huntail would disappear entirely. Riku would once more find herself in the middle of the dark arena, and as the Growlithe hit the ground, his body would be surrounded in a warm green glow. In only moments he would be completely healed once again. The question now was, would Riku continue to battle with Aiden or switch to someone else?

Riku motioned for Sir Aiden to stand beside of her. After that battle, he needed to take a break. The battle had been close but in the end, he had lost. It was time to test out some of the younger ones in her team. The girl glanced at her pokeball belt and unclipped a pokeball. Tossing the ball into the air, she released the pokemon.
In a flash of red light, the little Numel appeared. Actually Jin was surprised that Riku had released him. Happy, he then almost tackled the girl to the ground. After getting situated and explained that he was going to battle, he glanced around the darkness. Okay, this place was definitely new. Snorting, he was curious as to what kind of pokemon would emerge to be his opponent. This would be his first battle.

Almost as soon as the Numel was released, the landscape would begin to twist in change. The ground became cracked and hard, the sky overhead slightly overcast. Tall leafy palmy trees rose from the earth, and ferns began to dot the landscape; and there, in the center of it all, was a Shieldon.
">Woah, I'd hate to see the other guy!<" The ancient reptile would suddenly burst out, sauntering over ">You know, when they yell timber, you're suppose to get out of the way!<" The Shieldon declared, then began laughing loudly ">I think you're more then a victim of the stick, musta taken the whole Ugly Forest to make ya look like that! Hahahaha!!!!<"

At first the Numel just stared at the Shieldon. It didn't move, eyes just focused on the other pokemon. All of a sudden, Jin shook it's head. At first he couldn't believe what was in front of him. It was a bit naive. ">D-did the rock looking thing just talk?<" he asked. Then the insult finally had time to sink in. ">Bad rock! Bad!<" he yelled, as waves of heat seemed to radiate from his hump to the outside. The waves of heat grew and grew before bursting out towards the Shieldon!

Burst they did...directly off the Shieldon's metallic face plate. Slowly, the ancient Pokemon would let out a long, drawn out yawn. ">Oh, I'm sorry? Were you done? I was hoping to see an actual attack<" He commented dryly, creeping up to the Numel a moment later ">Next time they hit you with the ugly stick, make sure to yell 'NOT THE FACE'...oh wait, too late! Nyahahahaahhaa!!!<" The Shieldon laughed, taking several quick steps back. ">Sheesh, and they say I have a a thick skull. What ya got in between those ears, pebbles?<" The Shieldon taunted, slowly pawing at the ground with one foot. Then the next moment he was off, head down, he was doing the simplest thing of all. He was going to throw his entire hardened body at the Numel in a Tackle!

The Numel felt the anger building within him. It was making the heat in his hump rise higher and higher. The normal dopey look on his face was different as it was now an angry but silly look all the same. Pawing the ground slightly, he released the Heat Wave aiming to get the Shieldon to stop talking! It was really infuriating! The little camel didn't care about the consequences, just had to try again! Plus he just wanted to wipe the smirk off the Shieldon's face.

The Numel's attack would indeed succeed, but perhaps not in the way he'd expected or desired. Sliding to a halt, the Shieldon would be stopped in his tracks, the ancient's body glowing a bright red like heated metal. ">Wuu, I am hot tonight!<" The Pokemon called out as his body rapidly began to cool back down ">You on the other hand are just ugly...n' dumb...dumb AND ugly. Now there's a lethal combo!<" The Shieldon called out, laughing again ">Dumb and ugly...you're DUGLY! HA!<" Yes, there was little chance this Shieldon was going to shut up any time soon. He was a smartass born and bred...except he'd only visibly existed for the last few minutes.
">Yoh mama so fat, she uses an asteroid belt to hold up her pants!<" The Shieldon called out, producing perhaps one of the lamest, most cliché taunts in the history of all things.

The Numel looked irritated. The rock really was not going down. None of his attacks were working. He wondered why? Maybe he wasn't putting enough power into it? Focusing for a second, he began chanting. ">Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.<" He continued saying it to himself while the fire within grew stronger and stronger. This Heat Wave was sure to put a dent in the Shieldon's armor this time!
