Nyx followed closely behind Axel and recalled Tazieff when they landed.
The elite took the flashlight and grinned, "Don't worry, TRP, I'll be fine! The Boss wouldn't have chosen me if he thought I'd be in any real danger." Or so she thought. "Besides, Deimos is an idiot and The Boss is depending on me. Now come on, lets get this show on the road."

"Mmm.." TRP obviously didn't share Nyx's blind faith in the boss's benevolence. She trusted Lucere certainly, and was completely loyal to him. He was a great leader and had done nothing but good things for Team Rocket. All the same, she had no doubt he'd sacrifice the safety of one Rocket for the team. She didn't have the heart to explain this to Nyx.
"Alright." She handed the radio over. "Keep it on and keep talking.. like we discussed." TRP's expression held the same concern she showed for the lower-ranked Rockets she led on missions. Nyx was an elite now, but TRP'd known her since she was a new recruit. She wanted to protect her. "Good luck."
And the pair headed off in opposite directions along the lake's edge, bright flashlights making them easy to pick out in the darkness.
"You find anything yet, Nyx?" TRP's voice crackled over the radio, "Lake looks the same as usual over here."
"Agent Nyx here- Nothing on this side of the lake."
"Damn. Keep looking. If this turns out to be a wild swanna chase Lucere'll have our hides."
"Hold on, I think I saw something. I'm going to check it out. Maintain radio contact- Agent Nyx out."
The pair carried on like this for some time, talking almost constantly on all channels.
- - -
Somewhere in Galactic HQ a signal light started flashing. A Galactic leaned over and pressed a headphone to his ear. Minutes later Tethys was being summoned from bed.
"This had better be good." A flat voice spoke behind the Galactic, and then Tethys - nearly silent in her fuzzy slippers - leaned over the console. The woman's ice blue hair - in a long braid that nearly touched the floor - draped over her shoulder. Considering the nature of the hour, she was in a plush white bath robe. Considering the nature of her profession, she'd wedged a pair of guns through the sash.
Nobody commented on Tethys' appearance. Her uniform wasn't responsible for her terrifying reputation, thus the lack of uniform didn't change the fact everyone in the room knew she could kill them before they realized what they'd said wrong.
"Apologies, ma'am." The Galactic seated at the main console spoke, "The scanners picked up some chatter. It's definitely from Team Rocket." He pressed a button, switching the audio to speaker.
"Still nothing over here." TRP's voice came over the speakers, "If that little green b*****d doesn't show up soon I'm going home."
Nyx's voice responded, "Celebi was sighted around here somewhere, we just have to keep looking."
The Galactic looked back at Tethys, "We've been listening in for a little while now. It's definitely Team Rocket. They've mentioned Lucere twice now. It's two female Agents. One uses the name Nyx. The other is TRP. They're at Elemi Lake following a lead on a Celebi. Doesn't sound like they have any back up. Just a scouting mission."
"This is good," the commander murmured. Tethys kept her eyes trained on the screens, her pale face showing no outward acknowledgment as the Galactic filled her in except for the mention of 'Nyx.' Oh. That woman. She straightened up with an audible sigh and gave the tracking program a sour look it didn't really deserve. "Get a lock on their signals. He'll want to see this." With a brisk turn, she strode out of the room with a muttered "Unfortunately."
- - -
Back at Elemi Lake TRP was growing tired. They'd been at this for some time now. "...anything yet?" She muttered into the radio in a tone Nyx would realize had nothing to do with Celebi.

"Not yet," Nyx replied over the radio, sounding just as tired, and equally bored, as TRP. What was taking Galactic so long? Any other time they didn't want them to show up, and they always did. The agent took a seat on a fallen log, continuing the radio chatter while taking a little break.

"..well keep looking. Something's bound to turn up.." Nothing turned up for the next ten minutes. Then twenty. Then Thirty. Forty.
One hour later, as the pair made their umpteenth pass of the lake, a sound echoed across the night sky. It sounded like a jet engine.
"s**t.." TRP muttered to herself before turning around and taking off at a sprint. "You hear that?" She shouted into the radio.
Moments later bright lights appeared over the treeline, illuminating the lake and everything around it. They were fixed to the front of a large metallic mantine.

"Well damn. Party's over." Nyx said over the radio, though she was actually relieved they finally showed up. The elite squinted and shaded her eyes with her arm. Damn those were some bright lights.
In an effort to make Galactic's arrival not look like something they were wholeheartedly trying to make happen, Nyx sent out her Charizard, who also recoiled from the bright light. Who needed that much light to see?

Somehow TRP had hoped that Team Galactic would never appear. It wasn't much of a hope and it was obviously a pointless one now. Out of breath, she neared Nyx's location and sent out Axel ahead of her.
"Team Rocket!" A familiar voice rang over a loudspeaker hidden somewhere behind the bright lights. The giant mantine had shifted into hover mode and was turning as it approached the pair. The jet-sized machine set down in the water, engines spraying a fine mist around it before cutting off as the mechanical pokemon settled onto the lake's surface. The lights dimmed, making the craft visible. Deimos was leaning in an open hatch on the side, one hand on his hip, cape billowing out over the water, "Nice to see you. Very nice." He winked.
Behind the hatch on the other side, Tethys winced.

"What do you want, Galactic?" Nyx yelled out, playing dumb. She was too far away to see Deimos' pointed blink. Her charizard roared in warning, ready to attack at her owner's command.

"What do we want? Oh well.. that's a long list. We could be here all night." Deimos chuckled, "Instead let me as you a question. What are two little Rockets doing out alone so late? Seems a bit dangerous. You never know who'll drop in." He smirked.
"Okay enough of this banter. Axel, aim a flamethrower at that ship!"
Axel roared alongside Nyx's charizard and launched a flamethrower attack at the front of the ship. As TRP had expected, the damp machine was unharmed.
"Always the same old tricks. Fire the Remoraid."
"Sir!" A Galactic from somewhere inside the ship shouted. There was a click and a loud pop from beneath the maintine's left wing. The mechanical remoraid that had been hanging there shot forward like a torpedo. A second later it erupted from the water's surface, soared over Nyx and exploded, sending weighted nets flying in all directions. Both Nyx and TRP were successfully entangled.
TRP's eyes widened, "Holy sh-" She hit the ground hard as one of the nets caught her. She'd expected Deimos to cooperate with their plans, but not this promptly. "Son of a b***h.. Axel!" Only Nyx was supposed to be captured this night. Not both of them.
The charizard roared from nearby. He too was tangled in a net. They were scattered everywhere.
"Get us out of here!!"
Flames erupted from the trapped lizard as he struggled to get free.
"Not so fast." A loud whirring sound issued from the mantine and a rope leading from the nets back to the ship drew taught. The engines fired up and the mechanical pokemon started to rise from the water's surface.

Nyx didn't get a chance to make a snarky retort before she was suddenly trapped in a net. "Wha-" Needless to say, she hadn't been expecting that... Her Charizard roared furiously and struggled to get free of the net, but being tangled up and dragged across the ground was very disorientating.
Looked like getting caught wasn't going to be hard at all...

"You've got to be kidding me.." TRP continued to struggle as the pair of them were dragged off the ground. Soon they were dangling over the lake. Axel was slowly making his way through his net, but it was obviously treated with something to make it flame retardant.
"Tsh.." TRP squirmed around to aim Axel's pokéball, "Return." In a beam of light the Charizard was safe in his ball again. "Hoshi." She plucked another ball from her belt and the tiny jirachi appeared.
"Terra!" She happily exclaimed.
"Hoshi, I need you to teleport this net beside me instead of around me. Think you can do that?"
Hoshi blinked at the net, then at TRP. It was a tall order. "Um.." She put a little hand on her mouth, looking uncertain.
"It's important, Hoshi. Please try. I know you can do it."
Hoshi adopted a look of teeny determination and squinted her eyes, balling up her tiny fists. With a little flash and a pop, the net moved two feet to the left. TRP gasped as she tumbled into the air and fell, splashing into the water below.
"Terra!!" Hoshi shouted, diving after her trainer.
Coughing, TRP broke the water's surface again. She took several breaths before nodding, "Good work buddy.."
"Nyx?" Hoshi looked up at the retreating Rocket with concern.
"Leave her." TRP muttered, watching Nyx's net climb higher, "..she's where she needs to be." Although Nyx couldn't hear her, she offered a quiet, "Good luck."
"What just happend?!" Deimos shrieked as TRP's net blinked in and out of existence, "She can't do that, that's cheating!!"
"Should we go after her, Sir?" The Galactic at the controls looked back.
Deimos frowned, eye shifting to Nyx, still in her net. He hated to lose a prize, but he had what he'd come for, "...no. Reel the other one in. Let's go before their friends show up."
The Galactic nodded and the jet continued to climb. Soon a hatch on the underside opened up, pulling Nyx inside.
Deimos was standing nearby, doing his very best to look suave and boss-like. "Cuff her, Tethys. But do it gently."

Nyx followed suit and returned her Charizard to its pokeball. The last thing she needed was Tazieff getting taken by Galactic for Arceus knew what...
She was dragged inside the robotic mantine, which was not a gentle ride. When Deimos showed up with Tethys, it looked like Nyx had been roughed up already, or at least dragged through some bushes.
"Ugh! Let me GO!" Nyx fought with her net, none too happy about the way things were going, even though they were according to plan. It was so... demeaning to be caught in a net of all things.

Nyx's net rose up and stopped face to face with Tethys. Galactic's second in command looked completely disenchanted by their catch. "Yes, sir."
With that, the pale woman stepped forward, grabbing the small elite's arm as she shifted the net's heavy coils. "Don't struggle."
And Nyx didn't struggle, not while she was being freed from the net. But as soon as she was free, the tiny elite shifted her weight, slamming her elbow into Tethys' hip. "Alright, I won't struggle. I'll fight."
In response, Tethys dropped her elbow on the scientist's head.

Deimos gasped, "Tethys, I said gently! Hitting isn't gently!" Without warning the Galactic boss moved to shove himself between the pair, putting a hand on each of their shoulders. Andre, who was on the side closest Nyx, barred his little shaymin teeth at her, clearly more aware of the threat she posed than his master.

"She's still conscious. Get back." A firm hand planted itself on Deimos' chest and pushed him back - this time gently.
