Voice chat makes it easier to discuss strategies, and just talking in general. It would also make it easier to sync up on replays, asking others to re-look at certain parts of replays together. Just overall make stuff easier. But I doubt we're going to force anyone to use anything if they don't want to.

True, and I find the voice chat on sc2 to be terribly unreliable, it will work for some people sometimes, and then not at all for others.

I'm not sure we could even use it, unless we were in a party, but that has a 4 person limit. Because if we all watch replays, we're all in different games, and couldn't use the in game chat that way. Unless they added a voice option for guild channels. Even then, like you said, it's not that great.

The Lollipop Picnic So when is this gonna happen? I think almost as soon as we have enough people to make it worth it, say, 5ish? Currently we have you, Onos, and myself for sure, if we can get 2 more people, we can definitely start doing this, hell, even 1 more person would be sufficient to start with.

this seems rather interesting in theory but I would imagine it would be a little more difficult to execute realistically. but with that said, I don't think I would mind joining in on a discussion or argument or whatever it is we are doing. just make sure that this thing has a schedule and a format so we don't confuse anyone that wants to participate.

Would you guys rather do this over tinychat or skype?
We'll be starting the first one likely next week, as this week, I'm feeling a bit under the weather and will be beta testing SWTOR all weekend.

I've never heard of tinychat, so if I had to guess, I'd use skype. I'd prefer a program that lets you change the volume of others though (idk if skype can do that, haven't really used it for much)

i personally would prefer Tinychat since I don't have Skype. i understand how minor this inconvenience is but I would prefer the website as opposed to software that I would like to avoid installing in the first place.

I'd prefer a program that lets you change the volume of others though (idk if skype can do that, haven't really used it for much) tinychat is a website, that users can use to stream webcam or mic chat, it runs in the browser and has a typed chat as well for people who don't feel like chatting via mic. It has volume adjustments, and with the use of the program manycam, you can do various things with it. The only problem with tinychat is some weaker computers may have a hard time running it at the same time as starcraft, and my experience some lag issues, but really other than that, it runs quite well. Personally I think TC would be the best choice, so that we can have the main panel of people discuss via mic or cam, and then allow an open text chat below for people who just want to sit in without doing too much discussion themselves.

That works I guess lol. My votes go like this lol. Vent > Teamspeak > Skype > else But we're a democracy (at least it appears), so whatever is the majority vote I'll go with.

i'd be down for this, available whenever on weekends. weekdays could possibly work but yeah.
skype i'd say is preferable if it doesn't exceed 5 people, then vent then whatever else. text-based chat is a bit too slow / doesn't fulfill the purpose of this weekly discussion you want to create, imo. that's my 2 cents but i'll go with whatever you guys want.
e- oh tinychat is mic-based? then whatever works.

Yes, tinychat uses mic, or webcam functions, as well as a text chat window below.
I am thinking of doing our first run on this either, Thursday, Friday, or if necessary, Saturday, so let me know what is best for everyone, ASAP so we can establish an actual time, keeping in mind, this will require about 1-2 hours time commitment, depending on what and how many replays we try doing.
I'm thinking for the first one, we'll start with one replay, and have 2 on back up selected, and just see how long it takes to get through them.
