When she'd discovered who she was to be paired with in the weyrling barracks, Dezima had suffered another round of 'EEEEeeeeEEee OMGs'. She had been paired up with her friend, Brynja. That was the second most awesome thing that had happened to her in a short amount of time. The first would be the sweet thing prancing along beside her as she walked with Brynja and Larth. Microth kept giggling at Larth's constant pestering about how His looked. She thought both Theirs looked fine and that it really didn't matter because they were Theirs.

Once presented with her riders knots from Weyrleader W'lin, Dezima had to show Microth so the green could sniff them and see what they were. What are they for? Do you have to eat them? Her tail swished behind her like a felines, blue gaze flickering towards everyone else that was in the room. Her fellow siblings were here! She and Larth should go visit with them. Oooh and the tables! Microth wondered what they were like from underneath?!

<Don't go under the tables! At least not while it's so crowded.> The weyrbrat informed Microth with a smile as she attached the rider knots to her shoulder. "And now, we do not eat them. They go right here, see? They tell everyone that I am a greenrider." She rubbed the head that leaned against her. "C'mon! Let's see where Larth drags us." Dezima grinned at Brynja. "Do you see anyone from your family here?" She asked.

Microth pranced along next to Larth, eyes swirling as she glanced from one dragon to the next. Larth! Larth we should investigate the meat tables soon! Oh and look! There is Tyeth and His. And Zurith! The green nudged the larger blue, making sure he actually heard her.

"Maybe we should find someplace to sit too." Dezima offered, though she didn't think they would have too much trouble. As long as Brynja's Larth didn't try and drag them to 'front row seats' or something.

"Yes, yes, come on! We'll be late!" Urged the new rider as he carefully nudged his dragon from his laying position. Aside from getting a good amount of food, it would be good to meet with the other new riders, he figured, especially his bunkmate. K'har wasn't really familiar with any of the others, but they couldn't be too bad, right?

Heth did get up, but he decided to take his time still. While he was hungry, he wasn't exactly starving at the moment, so he didn't feel too much of a need to rush unlike his bond.

But, eventually, the two made it over, finding that many of the others had already arrived. Once there, Heth seemed to be a little more lively, happy to see his siblings moving on about. They took a moment to try and see who was about before K'har spotted the one that might be N'mol. While he wanted to meet with everyone, he figured it'd be good to seek him out first.

"Ah, hey! You're N'mol right?" he asked the boy.. hoping he had the right person. He did have a bronze with him.

greeted the brown contently while sitting himself at K'har's side.

My clutch-siblings are getting excited Mine. Zurith noted to his rider. He didn’t quite see what all the fuss was about; after all they could see each other for a very long time.

F’law dutifully followed after his dragon. Perhaps that’s because this is the first time everyone has had a chance to gather and greet. Also, I’m not going to feed you a lot or you’ll become sleepy. He selected a nice bowl of meat and moved out of the main way of the table. Zurith trailed behind until he stopped. Picking up the first piece he set it into the waiting blue jaws. He smiled to himself at the dragon’s relish of the meat. All too quickly the bowl was empty.

Placing the bowl in the used section to be dealt with by weyr drudges, he looked up and over at the tables. A familiar outline and set of crutches propped up against the table caught his attention. With Zurith following at his side, F’law headed over to speak to his father. He was rather pleased a dragonrider had thought to get him, and that his father had come. After all this had been his idea. He approached within speaking distance. “Hello father. I’m glad you could come.” He glanced at the blue beside him and his cheek flushed just a little. “You were right. This is Zurith. Zurith, my father.”

The older man shifted to face his son with a wide grin. “Right? No Falawny, merely right in giving you both the chance you need. You’ve done our family proud. Hello Zurith, a pleasure to meet you. ” He tilted his head at his son and dragon. “Perhaps you should tell me what your new rider name is?” He was so very proud of Falawny even if the boy was slightly nervous about their meeting.

The new rider gave a soft cough at his father’s reply. While he’d been content to stay home, his father and family had encouraged him to attempt this. This chance had turned into Zurith. What could he say to that? Zurith crooned reassuringly at His’ shoulder. You should tell him the name we picked for you. Tell him it is a pleasure to meet him. The blue curled his tail around his feet, ready to sit there if father and son wanted to talk all night. Not likely, but he was ready for it.

F’law gave a half grin to Zurith before turning back to his father. “He says he’s pleased to meet you too. Zurith decided that F’law would be a good name.”

His father nodding approvingly offered his hand to his son to shake. “Rider F’law.” Once the handshake was completed, he leaned back in his seat. “I’m perfectly contented to sit here and watch all you younglings with dragons mingling. You should too, F’law. I’m well supplied with food and drink. Enjoy yourselves.”

Squaring his shoulders, F’law took his father’s hand. Silently he promised to visit with Zurith when he could. “Yes father. Thank you again for coming.” With that he and his dragon drifted away from the disabled man. You should have something to too Mine. Deciding his dragon had a good idea, F’law headed toward the human food tables.

When Treeth had eaten her fill at the buckets after hatching Viddle had taken her to wash the still clinging sand carefully from her hide so not to scratch or score her with the tiny grains of doom. It wouldn't do for Her's hide to be sore. The two fell asleep in Treeth's bowl while oiling her hide. The young woman jerked awake when she heard A'in and his blue. She couldn't remember his name but she knew that if she heard it, it'd be okay because she'd learn it. She wished she'd taken the time to get to know her candidate class mates better. Treeth pulled Viddle from her thoughts

"Oh right I'd forgotten. I want to wear my hear down, I need to go wash it though, I'll be back shortly. Gella will stay with you."

Viddle nuzzled into Treeths shoulder since it was there and got up going to her trunk to get the sweet sand that will cut through the grease she used to twist her hair. Gella floated in through the window and circled over Treeths head chirping questioningly at her. With out turning to look at the smaller green Viddle said,

"Gella stop. Treeth is bigger than you, don't upset her."

The green flip croon and landed on Treeth, and Viddle was sure they were talking or something. She called a quick I'll be back before heading towards the baths with her sweet sand and comb. She combed through her hair until it hung in loose wet tendrils around her face and down her back to just under her shoulder blades. She cleaned, dried, and dressed herself to head back to her barracks. As she walked her hair dried a little. Reaching the entrance she stopped, someone was lurking outside her room. Her room where Treeth was!

After the assassination of Kestril, within their very walls no less, Viddle had been numb, now though she was edge for Treeths safty. She sprinted down the hall towards the figure, to see it was only a weyr-brat.

"Hey what are you doin?"

She asked as she came to a walk, the lad turned and blushed,

"I was asked to deliver a package to Jr. Weyrling Viddle."

"That's me."

She took the package and thanked the lad before taking it into her shared space, then to her bed to unwrap it.

"Did either of you notice that there was someone outside just now?"

She asked of the two greens

Viddle nodded, so long as they knew he'd been there. Treeth appeared at her elbow to look at the package Her's had received.

"Oh look," Viddle said "It's from my family, oh wow look at these!"

Viddle said as she started pulling things from the wrappings. She held a rich green vest and coat, tan pant's and a green belt to match. New feast cloths! Quickly she changed into the cloths and turned for Treeth

Treeth hummed happily to finally be on their way, Gella perched on Treeths hips watching where they had been instead of where they were going. At the door Viddle greeted the Weyrleader and accepted her knots. Once inside the cavern they scanned the space each looking for something.

Viddle saw her family gathered in one corner and moved towards them a hand on Treeth a bright smile in place. Treeth followed Her's and gazed around spotting her bunk mate and his

With her hair now loose and dry it fell in rich chestnut and dark brown waves to the middle of her shoulder blades, her hazel eyes were bright as she greeted a tiny woman with deep purple hands, an equally large hairy man, a second small woman, a younger boy, then on to an older man, finally scooping the youngest, her nephew up and onto her hip,

Stromath, good evening, Tyeth greeted, pleased that his brother had approached him. It was good to already be making strides towards positive relationships. It required almost no effort on his part, though he was sure some of his other Clutchmates would require some bringing around. I am glad to see you and yours. This is N'mol. He flipped a wing slightly in his rider's direction, and N'mol couldn't help the easy grin that started on his face.

"N'mol," he introduced to K'en, holding out his hand for a shake and hooking the thumb of that hand into a pocket afterward. "It's good to see more weyrbrats in the ranks. What did you choose for your honorific?"

Yours has a brother. A twin, like our Queens, Tyeth lifted his head and looked around briefly, trying to spot the brother before returning his entire attention to Stromath. It would be best to build strong bonds with those in his Clutch who had the potential to be dragons almost as great as himself. His attention was distracted from their conversation by another greeting, and he turned green eyes to Heth as he and His approached. Another taking time to greet him! He almost didn't even have to exert the effort. However, later, he was sure, he would have to go out of his way to see the others. The Greens and Blues, in particular, would likely avoid him, thinking themselves not good enough to address a Bronze. He would have to show them they could trust him.

Hello, Heth, Tyeth greeted, easily adjusting to allow for the Brown to be added to the conversation.

Someone he'd never seen knew his name? N'mol looked up slightly at the older boy, and he gave him a welcoming smile while his mind absently filed away that this was a Brownrider."Yes. I am. And you are?"

You see, N'mol? Tyeth commented privately to His as he stood a little straighter. Let anyone looking their way see what a fine Bronze had had the grace to hatch first and give everyone a good show at the Hatching. Already, they know us.

Yes, I see that.

K'en hadn't actually intended to go 'meet and greet' with the rest quite so soon, but since Stromath had already taken the initiative and bespoken Tyeth he didn't have too much choice in following along. He returned a polite smile to his fellow bronzerider, reaching out to shake the proffered hand. "I've shortened my name to K'en. Well met, N'mol." Certainly they'd already known each other as fellow Weyrbrats, but this was their first time greeting each other with their new names. All of them here were starting a new chapter in their lives.

It is a pleasure to see you and Yours as well, Stromath returned, looking up at Tyeth's when he was gestured to. And yes, Mine has a twin. He and Gneisth are not far. It didn’t really surprise him that they had already split off as well; the brown was quite social, so he had doubtless already found another sibling or two (or three) whom he wished to speak to. The bronze turned to look as another brother and his rider approached Tyeth and his. Good evening, Heth, he greeted to the brown.

K’en too turned to look at the other, but since the address had not been directed towards him he chose not to interrupt. He recognized the other, but his name was eluding him at the moment...

"I can't see them" Brynja said, not sounding that put out. It was entirely possible that the male members of her family had been out at sea, and her Ma wouldn't want to leave the hold on her own. If they hadn't been able to come... well, it'd be disappointing, but she could deal with it. 'sides, they might be here somewhere anyway - it was fairly crowded, if quiet. She raised herself up on her tiptoes, peering over the crowd before dropping back down with a grin. "If you see a couple of guys, 'bout six feet tall, with my sort of really frizzy hair, those're my brothers and my Da. My ma's a bit smaller, more like my size"

Larth agreed, pretty much to everything Microth had just said. She had caught him watching Treeth and planning on how to make an approach, but now his head swung around to take both the other dragons into his field of view (and several others on the way between). Having Microth follow him would definitely look good, right? Right.

"Maybe" Brynja agreed, "but Larth wants to go talk to everyone - I don't think he'll let me sit down" This was a bit of an exaggeration, but she was just about as excited. This was one of the best things ever, it really was.

Persephone found herself wrinkling her rather pointed nose at the sound of the hyphenated and shortened versions of her name. They simply didn’t sound right, Prissy or Priss sounded much better but that wasn’t her real name, she was proud of her real name. Her mother had put so much effort into choosing an identity for her, just because she Impressed to a dragon wasn’t a reason to alter whom she was. Pushing herself onto her tip toes she leaned close to the boy before she spoke in a very faint voice as if she were trying to keep from being overheard. “I personally like your name the way it is, Winderick. I know we are supposed to be a traditional Weyr but some traditions are just stupid and should be changed. If we weren’t so stuck in the old ways maybe Weyrwoman Kestril and hers would still be alive.” Persephone stated in a matter of fact manner before pulling away from the lad, her oddly off coloured hands reached across the table and plucked at a piece of meat which she quickly began to shove into her mouth to occupy it. She was very well aware that she wasn’t supposed to speak like that but in her mind it was true. The Weyr for the most part had a somewhat liberal view on certain things yet there were other matters that were still so set in ancient stone, it was dumbfounding, how was the Weyr supposed to better itself if it didn’t change? Just because something was perfect the way it was turns and turns ago didn’t mean that it was without fault now.

A long green tail swished back and forth slowly, Pyrth was enjoying speaking with her clutch brother and was elated when he stated that she and hers could help.

‘Of course! Both mine and myself will be the vest best of dependable friends to you and yours, Pectolath! You shall see!’ Pyrth verbosely explained with jubilation, stepping forward the green brought her snout towards that of the shiny blue and rubbed against his neck affectionately, tiny sweet noises bubbled up from her throat happily. We should make ours go meet the others once they are done eating. Mine is feeling a bit self-conscious and nervous about meeting our siblings and theirs.’

A'in turned when Troiseth looked over to Treeth. It is okay. We all need sleep after an event like us hatching. Tell Yours we send our greetings, Treeth. The blue turned an eye to the teen. Mine, Treeth sends their apologies for falling asleep. A hint of amusement in the dragons cheerful voice.

I take it you mentioned our greetings? No matter, let's go gather with the others that are here. He adjusted the new decorations on his shoulder. It felt strange as he moved around with it.

B'nen liked mingling in the crowd, and Gneisth was entirely in his element. Unlike some of the louder dragons in the clutch they'd already heard the evening of the Hatching, Gneisth preferred a more quiet sort of socialization. But the brown dragon was certainly leading the way amongst the others, gentle nudges in welcome and greeting to the other dragons, especially the ones he had not gotten the chance to say hello to yesterday. He let Stromath handle Tyeth, and angled instead to greet Larth and Microth.

B'nen trailed behind, wondering if his time might be better spent leaving Gneisth relatively to his own devices...but, well, it would be best to feed him soon, and he'd be able to catch up with his twin soon enough. And speaking of twins, where were the golds?

Dezima glanced around, looking for anyone that looked similar to Brynja. But there were a lot of people around and trying to find someone - or someone's - going only off of 'tall, frizzy hair like Brynja' was something the weyrbrat was failing epically at. "I'll keep my eyes open for them." She told her friend, eying the other hatchlings and their new bonded's around them. Probably time to go socialize, right? Sounded like their dragons agreed with this.

Who should we go see first? Microth's eyes danced and swirled with bright blue with her enjoyment of being here and seeing everyone. Plus she had Hers and Larth had His. And their clutchmates had all Theirs. The green pranced alongside her blue clutchmate only to stop and give a draconic grin at the brown that came and side hi to them. Gneisth! Hi! I am well and Mine is well. This is Dezimamine. How are you and Yours? Microth's tail flicked behind her in her pleasure at getting to speak with another clutchmate!

She giggled at Brynja. Larth was definitely someone that liked attention. Or at least that was what Dezima was beginning to learn. And she'd only been around him since last night! "Sounds like Microth agrees with him, so I don't think either of us are sittin' down anytime soon." Dezima grinned at her friend. She turned to start following their dragons, only to find that they'd definitely found another of their clutchmates to talk with. Or rather, he found them. Dezima gave the new pair a wide grin. "Hello there! I don't think we've met before. I'm Dezima. And this is Microth." She patted the green on the rump.
PostPosted: Thu Sep 29, 2011 1:01 pm

"Thanks" Brynja replied, taking another glance around the room. There were so many people here, and the weyr was such a warren (if it weren't for Dezima she'd have got lost at least three times on the way here) it wouldn't surprise her if they were here somewhere and she honestly just hadn't seen them.

Larth said happily, tilting his head so that Gneisth could see it from just the right angle to look perfect. Not that Larth didn't always look perfect, it would just be more perfect from that angle. The large was glad to see the brown, and gladder yet that they had been approached, rather then the other way around - it gave a certain sense of superiority.

She followed Dezima's turn, with a bright smile for the older weyrling - if she'd seen him over the scant sevendays she'd been here, she couldn't remember his name. "I'm Brynja" she added cheerfully to her friend's introduction, one hand coming to rest on Larth's withers affectionately. "'nd this is Larth. Sorry, don't think I know your name either"

With his tail switching from side to side slowly, Heth looked between Tyeth and His. Another bronze, Stromath was around as well.

the brown asked the two. He felt a fair amount of grief over the loss of their mother, and he wanted to make sure that his siblings were coping alright. Other than that, there likely wasn't any reason for anything to be wrong, but he wanted to make sure that nothing was awry.

Looking between the two boys, K'har was glad that he managed to hunt down the right guy. It.. would have been a little awkward if he had been completely off.

"Ah! I'm Ka... K'har," he said, nearly slipping out his birth name instead. It was going to take a bit of getting used to. Grinning a little weakly, he glanced over at the one who called himself K'en, waving to him as a sort of greeting.

((Sorry. Didn't realize rider names weren't announced anywhere. XD; ))

Viddle turned to her little nephew and brother said,
"Do you two want to go get Treeth one of those bowls of meat there? I'm sure if you ask nicely she'll even let you feed her?"

The green huffed a little, using her as a bribe so Her's didn't have to get up? She would be setting her rider straight.

Viddle looked at her mother who sat across from her, purple hands folded neatly on the table. A tender sort of smile on her face, much like the one that Viddle had when she looked at Treeth, only this was the look of a proud mother.

"My babies." she said softly smiling and tears in her eyes, "My babies, I am so proud of you all."

Viddle smiled a little at her mom and blushed a little,
"Thanks Momma."

The young boys returned with a bowl of scraps then, and stopped infront of Treeth.
"Can we feed you lady Treeth?"
They asked in unison. It was clear the older boy had told the younger what to say and how to say Treeth right.

Gneisth replied, eyes whirling happily. The brown did not mind conceding 'superiority' of the conversation to Larth; he was simply grateful to speak to the others and could care less which of his many clutchmates it was at any given moment. Of course, he'd have to meet them all! And the rest of the dragons in the Weyr besides. The older dragons could wait for later, though. Gneisth himself had rather enjoyed the arrangements of last night, though he suspected His and Stromath and Stromath's would not often be attempting it. And His had said they would get too large to repeat it soon anyway...

B'nen waved with a smile of his own to Dezima and Brynja. The former he recognized, at least by sight--he was quite sure she was a fellow weyrborn of Benden's, though a few Turns his junior. The latter was rather younger than them both, it seemed, and not especially familiar to him, which probably meant she'd been Searched. "Not formally, I think," he agreed with Dezima. "My name's B'nen, formally Bannen, and this brown fellow's Gneisth. I'm glad to make your acquaintance, Dezima, and that of your dragonpair...and well met, Brynja and Larth." These first few names, he hoped, would stick easily enough, but given the sheer size of the group...remembering everyone was going to be a trick for certain, even if Gneisth could tell him the dragons. "Just to warn you, my twin's the one with bronze Stromath--I know the knots and the dragons'll tell us apart now, but otherwise, we are identical." And yes, it still amused him to no end they'd Impressed in the clutch with twin golds. "Neither of us'll mind if you mix us up; we used to try to do it on purpose," he added, with a wider grin. It was still a terrible pity Stromath likely wouldn't tolerate such shenanigans in the future...
