Poor Zao had been a little behind, not spotting the first frog at all. But this one...he was determined to catch this one! He went after it like a cub a quarter his size, a bit clumsy, but obviously having fun. And not at all minding the mud.

A slip and a near miss was not enough to discourage Vyoga. Once he got going, he seemed rather at ease with what was going on. When a second frog appeared, he scrambled and turned himself about and made a clumsy but hopeful grab at it- trying not to notice that he was pretty sure he cut Chasasa off.

Struggling to make sense of the chaos going on around him, Chasasa ended up watching more than moving- there had to be a method to the madness, here. Vyoga was obviously intending to keep moving- a sudden familiar black-and-white blur cutting across him was enough to tell him that.. but it didn't seem to be very effective. With a chuckle, he watched his friends and pridemates go before settling his gaze on the frog and waiting for what he hoped was the best time.

Another frog missed...but Zao wasn't the sort to give up just because others were quicker. Nope! He was still having fun, and he was determined to catch at least one! Seeing another flash of green, Zao went after the new frog, grinning.

Frogs were slippery creatures. Seemed a pretty logical deduction.
After sheepishly apologizing to all the other Swampie lions she had bowled over, adults and other adolescents alike, Mwezi sat for a moment. Partially to catch her breath and partially to reconsider this insanity.
And really, insanity was the best word for it! Insanity and chaos.
There were frogs and lions bouncing around everywhere! Was it really worth it? Yet every time Mwezi considered quitting this ridiculous game another chirping peep-toad showed up to taunt her. Ooohh.. you little jerk! I've got you this time!!
Twisting around to nab at the frog, the muddy lioness was almost caught between the pair that got to it first, squeaking as she ducked and crawled out from beneath them to avoid the fray. Crap. Too close for comfort.

She would maybe capture this little frog, he was certainly flashing is little green butt near enough for he to just take that final leap. She grins broadly and dives hoping against all odds that she might manage to scoop up the delicious little morsel.
Helianthus beams, maybe, just maybe this was her shot...

Another poorly planned attempt, another miss. Still not discouraged, Vyoga slid to a stop- managing to stay on his feet. He looked around but now he was trying too hard to keep things going, he didn't actually see a frog but he saw others moving so he joined the scramble blind but hopeful.

Chasasa was still moving much slower than the rest of them, hanging back and watching the chaos each time and looking for opportunities to come to him rather than trying to make them-- which seemed to be the strategy of others, at least Vyoga didn't seem to be really thinking. It had to be better, keeping a distance- when the frog evaded, it would go away from all the others.
His tail swayed behind him as he watched and waited, and sure enough another chance presented itself and he jumped.

Once again, Penda found himself missing a frog. Although really, this one was just the fault of poor timing. Right as he found himself shaking the mud out of his eyes (sort of, it insisted on clinging to his mane and dripping down onto his snout) he saw another flash of green amidst the swamp. This time, he hadn't even gotten the chance to move towards it before he found a brown lioness had already caught the frog. But there was a bright side to his failure. This time, when another frog popped up, he was in prime position to pounce!
There was no hesitation this time. He could think of how many baths he'd need later, when he'd caught all the frogs he possibly could! (And hopefully caught the eye of La'u Khara'i.)
