Where Bul was dragged in, Sammy lingered behind resting on the door frame listening in. It had taken her a while to get any hint to where Nox would be, and in the end she had to trail behind Riley and Jericho to get anywhere. Still she wasn't ready to jump in right away till after everyone else had spoken.
Apparently she had missed a fact somewhere about being turned into weapons. The idea hardly seemed pleasing either.
"Going back is honestly the crappiest thing we could have happen, at the same time that Island might be where we could find them and put a stop to them... assuming we ever had a plan to do that." She spoke quietly form her spot by the door, she had shut it behind her as quietly as she could. Her face wore a grim frown showing just how she felt about the whole ordeal in general.
"We might have actually dealt with the fog before that trip actually, back when some of us entered the woods to follow that pendant. We ended up in there world. Though I don't think any of us where having hallucinations during that little 'trip'."

Nox's last words had Riley retreating inwardly just a touch. Whoops. She stole a guilty glance at Jericho, before straightening up and returning her gaze to Nox. As long as they don't take anyone else, or we don't get sent on any more field trips to it. She hedged, answering with something close to an agreement, that wasn't quite an agreement after all. So you're saying the fog won't ever come here, then? Then all we need to do is secure the school.
That, at least, was a workable problem. She turned to Jericho again, giving him a quick look that signalled soundless communication, and-
Riley jumped so hard at the sound of Sammy's voice, that she slid right off the table and fell to the floor. What was with scaring the death out of her tonight?! She turned around and glared at the ghoul, her chest rising and falling quickly as she tried to regain her composure.
While still on the floor.

Hunters.. So that's what these humans were called?
"Does anyone know why they're targeting us? Outside of turning us into their weapons that is," he frowned before catching Riley's gaze. He nodded lightly to her before glancing behind to see Sammy hanging around. When did she--? Ah, it didn't matter right now.
Turning back to Nox and and Riley, he let out a breath.
"Something tells me that's a lot harder than it sounds, especially if they apparently have spies among us. How do we secure something when the inside could be just as bad as what's outside?"

Bul's eyes wavered to Sammy whom had just entered. It wasn't startling for him as he wasn't invested in this discussion like Riley was but his attention quickly returned to the topic at hand.
A scowl ran across his face and a couple pointed teeth showed at Jericho's remark. "Are you ******** serious?" They couldn't be turned into weapons. That was literally impossible. Right?
"We don't let them see that's how. Not that they have anything to learn from us yet. The most powerful things we learn at this school is to use protection charms." Bitterly the monster stuck out his tongue. "Unless they plan to take those away..." he snorted.

When Sammy spoke up, Nox directed a flat look toward Riley, and then full out scowled as the discussion progressed. "Look, this whole situation isn't just about this school and it's students. It's broader than that, it's global. And yeah, you guys are in the most danger, but that's because you're also the most vulnerable. So lets hold off on trying to storm the castle, right? Shox over-extended on that island visit, and I doubt this place could manage a repeat now that they know that we know. At least not without a full-out war on our hands." His pacing slowed and he sighed, "Jack damn....the fog....just hope the zombie chick's wrong about that. It's not a normal fog..." Nox's voice trailed off, as if considering what to say next.
"Ok. Here's what you need to know: avoid strangers. Avoid portals. Avoid strangers with portals. If strange fog is lingering about, get the hell away and call an adult. Even a ******** gnome will do. If you're confronted by a hunter, maintain a distance and find cover. Some have excellent range, so escape by flight," a glance at Jericho, "...should be a last resort or used for...decoy purposes. And if you see a hunter that calls himself a doctor? Dr. H? Kill him. I know it's pretty much frowned upon, but you guys are minors anyways and seriously? Kill him."

Moving a bit closer to the others she glanced down at Riley offering a hand to help her up before speaking again. "Vulnerable? Because we don't know how to use our FEAR or something else?" She frowned a bit, but he was right, running off into another fight would get them killed, so why wasn't the school sending someone else capable of that fight in right now instead?
"Well that Fog involved one of those pendants, we got back when someone finally touched it, not to mention we've seen some of the teachers with those same pendants... but I missed out on what they were talking about exactly."
What came next was a series of instructions and the closest thing anyone had given them in the form of directions for the whole situation, at least for her. Avoid strangers, okay so don't get too friendly with new teachers and Treaters around town, portals, okay she didn't like to think about them much anyway. Avoid them combined, well that was simple. Don't fight, lame but acceptable... for now Kill Dr. H?
Well at least the last part sounded kind of fun?
"Not to get too off topic, but... how can they get here, to us? Is it the same way Jingle Berry got here during the exams? Hell how did he even do that?"

Riley took the offered hand, and used it fully to pull herself to her feet. Jack, Sammy. I've got enough to worry about without you sneaking up on me like that. She mumbled, before hopping back onto the table.
Nox's advice, as short as it was, was music to Riley's ears. At least he was being honest about what they could do to stay safe. Unfortunately, as soon as he ordered them to kill one of the humans, everything about the situation came sharply into focus.
And Riley shuddered.
She couldn't help it. Riley was a predator by nature - and she had been muzzled for far too long in this school. Nox's words were a sweet, seductive lure. Her eyes lifted just slightly, as if her worries had left her in place of comforting happiness.
Okay. She murmured cheerfully as her sole reply.

Frowning at both Bul and Sammy as they didn't seem to quite get things at first, Jericho let out a sigh.
"Like it or not, our FEAR levels aren't really anywhere near the graduates, and the first years are worse off," he frowned, "We couldn't even be felt by the humans that one time because we were so damn weak."
The thought sparked a bit of anger in him, thinking about that again. Then, as Nox spoke, he raised an eyebrow.
"Dr. H eh?"
It wasn't everyday that they were given the ok to actually kill a human. It was a little thrilling to take into consideration really. The guy must be one hell of a person for Nox to say that, even with all the precautions he said just now on how to deal with the hunters.
At the mention of Jingleberry, Jericho glanced to Sammy. Wait.. Jingleberry came to Halloween?

Hmph... you act like we're just going to know when we see a spy. There are strangers entering the school all the time. Bul tumbled around with his thoughts and stared at the table for a while in silence. He'd love to kill someone as much as the next but someone with such an authoritative name would put up more of a fight than the likes of dancing hunters hanging around abandoned schools in the fog. That was a fight Bul would never forget.
"Killing someone who's clearly got an upper hand on us sounds like a task the entire school would need to take part in..."
Shooting Sammy a glance again the half beast raised a brow. Jingle Berry was an unfamiliar name to him.

"Jingleberry? Seriously?" The 'Treater's mouth lifted in actual smile that did not bode well for Christmas, should Candy Cane Lane be without it's guardian. In a slightly better mood, he came back to the subject at hand, "Getting here isn't the big question, what with portals and pendants and all that s**t, it's how they stay here without exploding into a thousand bits of flesh that's one of the bigger issues, and one they're not letting me in on. The agreement between the school and the TOTC is, well, mutually self-serving at best, and the Shox hasn't felt the need to share." Smile and good mood? Gone.
"And stop getting all perky at the mention of killing humans! Jack! This has gotta be why they keep you kids on such short leashes. Don't go looking for the hunters! Any of them. Just...if the opportunity arrives, take the shot. And like I said, maintain your distance."

"Sorry about that Riley, didn't mean to cause any trouble." She offered a small shrug along with the apology before taking a spot leaning against the wall.
"I know what you mean Jericho... but it's more then that. Even if we where as powerful as the horsemen, what everyone is saying makes it sound like they have all the power and knowledge..." And some of us turned into weapons, what ever horrible advantage that might give.
The look she got when mentioning Jinngle Berry was a bit of a strange one. It almost made her worried for Christmas, sure they had wrecked it pretty bad the last time they visited but the look Nox was making ranked up there with the one Red would give before telling the students to run an obstacle course. "Yes, he showed up during my exam and well; a few of us ended up knocking him about till Hellma showed up, we beat him... but they had this conversation, something to do with Jingle Berry's mother and what Hellma did to her. After that we woke up in the medical wing recovering." She pointed to her side where two scars still remained from the JOYfull sowrd at the end.
Slowly a frown crept into her face, "So the hunters get here; and they can stay, but we go there, we go crazy and get killed or turned into weapons. And then Jingle Berry can waltz into here as well? At this rate we're like the stomping ground welcome mat for anyone to just walk in and kidnap students...."

Riley looked displeased at being chastised. She couldn't help what she was, and she certainly wasn't going to feel bad about it.
Her look of displeasure remained as Sammy spoke about her exam. Riley looked pointedly at Jericho, which meant looking in the opposite direction of Sammy. It was a little rude, but it helped her temper. Only he could feel it flaring up underneath her cool exterior.
Sammy's right, but I don't see any easy solution to this other than continuing to get stronger in the hopes that, if we do encounter a hunter, we won't have to run away. They deserve a taste of their own medicine. Eventually.

Frowning as Nox snapped at them, Jericho grumbled lowly before looking over towards Riley to catch her gaze. Her being irritated and temperamental at the moment was not helping with his own mood right now. Letting out a breath, he looked back towards the others.
"That's pretty much the only thing we can do at this point Riley," he frowned, "Though, with all of this going on, you'd think the school would be a little more tight about these events allowing prospective students coming by. Times like that make it hard to 'avoid strangers'."

With a clenched fist Bul seemed rallied towards Jericho. "The school is messed up though. If they knew we were so 'jack damned delicate'-" Air quotes were thrown, "then why send us to the island at all. Exposure is great but that's what classrooms and teaching is for." He was ready to add this this but he had to bite his tongue and lean back on his tail once more. Getting irate would stir trouble.
"I personally don't sidle up to losers I don't know very often but now that I know this? I can only trust my friends.." Another pause led to the half beast sighing heavily. "Even that's risky."

The questions were greeted with an impatient gesture, and Nox's scowl deepened with every remark. For a moment it looked like he was going to just leave them there, but finally just took a deep breath, and slowed his motions. Eventually, he tried to answer their questions, "As you guys should already know very well, travel between Holiday Worlds is possible, so stop pissing yourself over the ninja. The thing with the hunters...nobody is happy that they can do it, and I'm fairly sure that moves are being made to discover and stop their means but..." he shrugged and continued, "...like I said, I'm not in the know. But I can guess, and my guess is...you guys are being used. From what Hex has told me, they did something similar last year, when you guys visited Christmas?"
The grin reappeared, as kidnapping the Sandy Claws was a definite mention on almost any 'Treater's bucket list, "This looks the same, only after the Island fiasco, they're playing it safe. This school is well defended, full of vicious surprises, and staffed by some of Halloween's most dangerous citizens. Basically: the school's a happy little Hunter Trap, and guess what you guys are."
