Amitola bit her bottom lip thinking. She was hoping he would say yes so she could share her most favorite story with him. It was not a story she guarded just one that reached close to her heart. But his asking for a short one now put that a bit out of the question, though not terribly long it was longer then what he asked for. The green eyed mare did like his proposal, the idea of telling him the story when they were eating lunch and she could lay about and tell in to the full extend it was what made up her mind.
"alright, I accept your offer Shijin." she smiled. "I shall save the story that is dear to my heart for our next meeting and instead give you a creation story that I like. As for a safe trip home you can see me to the two-legger camp I was heading to. I like to listen in on their story tellers"
Taking a moment to collect herself, to think about the story and a few ways to shorten it down just a little. Most creation stories did have a lot of details about the exact transformation of the stages of earth or what the story is creating. She took a deep breath letting the story fill her mind, body and soul so it was all she thought about. Once filled with the story she spoke, her voice steady and true that seemed to hold a wisdom about it.
"This story comes to us from the two-legger's, Apache, called The Jicarilla emergence.
"In the beginning there was but water. All living things were in the underworld, all speaking the same language. Two-leggers and other daylight creatures wanted more light; nocturnal animals wanted darkness. They all played a game to decide, and those who wished for daylight won. The Sun peeped through a hole into the upper world and was able to tell the two-leggers about what it saw. The two-legged wanted to see for themselves so they built four mounds to help them reach the upper world, one in each of the four directions, piling up fruits of a particular colour. The fruit grew into mountains, but it was not high enough to reach the upper world.
"The two-legged ones tried making ladders of feathers but they broke. Four buffalo offered their right horns as ladder rungs. With thanks the two-leggers build the new ladders and emerged on earth. They tied the Sun and Moon with spider thread to stop them escaping. Four storms blew the waters away and the two-leggers circle around their emergence hole until they eventually settled in one place."
Amitola looked up at Shijin as her story finished, letting the story slip from her letting it go, just a bit so that it ended. Even with out all the details in the longer version the blonde mare thought she did a good job of condensing the major points of the story.

A smirk escaped, as he watched her bite her lip, and ponder for a minute before deciding to agree. Perfect! It was just what he had hoped she would say. He would indulge in one of her stories, then be a gentlesoq and guide her home after. It felt right to do so, since it was in fact so late at night. He'd feel responsible if something were to happen to her, while he stood here and did nothing. He likely would have followed her home...but at a distance if she had declined. This way, he could have assured her safety, and respected her answer. No need though! She had agreed.
He waited patiently, for her to start her story, silent and still, so as not to distract her.
Shijin marveled at the skill in which Amitola used, to unfold her story before him. From the moment she started her story, he knew it was going to be good. He listened with full attention, as she told on, a story of creation. These ones always had such a magical feel to it, but he had not heard many. He did know that depending on location, and culture, different views were obtained on the origin of things. This story seemed to have a feel of dedication, and endurance to it.
"Delightful image of creation unfolding. Amazing Amitola." he beamed at her with heart. "To imagine anyone trying to climb a ladder of feathers, is interesting. I would think it is symbolic. I do enjoy the way the story plays at my mind, trying to find wisdom and insight in the words. Thank you."
He continued to grin, then added. "I do hope I will get to hear another of your stories soon! Before I guide you home, tell me, for I must know, when can I see you again? Would you like to meet me here, at your convenient time of choice? It would be my honor to accommodate you well. I only ask that it be afternoon, as mentioned before, with a light lunch." His smile still..did not waiver.

Green eyes were alighted with something deeper in them, as they always were after a good story, it was as of a small change and peace came over Amitola though was not seen anywhere but the depth of her eyes. "Tis a deep story, though many do miss the undertones of survival and determination it holds. I do think it says a lot about the people who believe in that story. but then most creation stories do..." she trailed off lightly a thought crossing her mind and a smile on her lips. though shortly after her mind wondered her eyes snaped back to Shijin and a light blush was on her face.
"Sorry sometimes its hard to shake the meaning." she smiled at him, the warmth in her face back, "I hope when we have more time we can talk about the meanings in the stories as well. I have to say that i am pleased you looked deeper into."
Amitola was happy and really could not wait till their next meeting, and she wanted it as soon as possible! But she had to weigh her previous plans to these new ones.
"How about in two days? Though I would love to gather with you tomorrow I do not think I will be free from our stories in time to hear the two-legged stories I set out to hear. So Tomorrow night, and the night after I will listen as I planned but the afternoon after I shall be yours to dine and capture your ears in a story or three." the blond mare thought that would be a good time. she could head back to the two leggers after if she wanted to spend more time around them, or she could pick a new place to listen at... or... just maybe spend more time with Shijin.... she liked the last option best of all.

"It was an utmost pleasure to meet you tonight, and I am filled with delight in knowing I will see you again. I do not wish to hold you up any further Lady Amitola." He bowed with grace, honored by her acceptance of his offering to do lunch. The time mattered not, and two days seemed neither too long or too short to him. Time is something he felt was predetermined by a power above all living things.
"Come, might I fly with you? As promised, for keeping you at this late hour, I will guide you to your destination. I am sure you would not find harm, but I would sleep better knowing that after we crossed paths, you found no ill fate in the night." He knew of those who would prey easily on a lovely mare such as herself. Even though it wasn't terribly late in the evening, one could never be too cautious.
Shijin stretched out his wings across the night sky. He gave them a few swift flexes, causing the ribboned gold stars on his ankle to inch this way and that. He stood there with his wings stretched out, once he got the blood flowing through the hollowed bones.

As Amitola did not need as much room as Shijin need she stepped back, letting the stallion's expansive wings stretch out. She kept her eyes on those wings though, watching where they sat on his body so that she should be able to fly close enough to him in order to keep a small conversation as they traveled together. The flight may not allow for a long conversation, as she knew she was near-ish the camp, but she did want to talk with Shijin as much as she could.
Taking off was easier then landing for the blonde, at least she did not sound like a falling boulder.... Still using the cliff seemed like the best idea. the pale rainbows in her wings caught in the moonlight as she fluttered her wings back and forth for a moment. And with a swift movement she moved off the cliff face, letting the wind ruffle her hair. She swooped around and moved behind Shijin to fly with him.
"Its not far away." she looked the direction the camp was, "About a half an hour or so as the crow flies in this direction. As we get closer the lights from the fire should be easily seen." Though with another there to fly with her they might cover the distance faster, or slower to keep in each others presence longer.

"Shall we then?" he said as he flapped his wings with force, causing the air to woosh as his gathered enough velocity to take off with a push of his hooves. As he leaped into the air, he arched upwards to give room for Amitola to take flight too. With a glowing eye of observation, he watched for her to take off. Part of him was interested in knowing how she took flight.
"Please, fly towards your destination, and I will fly beside you. I will follow your lead Amitola." he spoke with a voice a few decibals louder, to take over the swooping noise of his wings. It was only louder when in a hoovering state like he was currently. Once they started to move forward, he could glide most the way on his wings. He would give her the room she needed, but stay close enough where they could talk if she so chose to. Talking and flying did exert more energy for most air born soquili. For him, he didn't have to flap his wings very much while in flight. He could talk without exerting any extra strength, or get winded, for a long time.
