Ever the perfectionist, the male couldn't help but feel as though he had misinterpreted the pride for what it truly was. He would have to correct his mistake, but for now it seemed his companion had something else on her mind that she needed to get off. Shrugging it off, Ulimi attempted to focus once more on Nefertari's face but again, her tail began his attention spot. Why was he so fascinated with it? It was truly annoying, but he couldn't take his eyes off of it, quite the entrancing object...
But soon her tail vanished as she stood upon her paws and walked nearer to the male, causing a few chills to run up his spine. She seemed ... interested in something but surely it wasn't what he assumed it was. Or had he truly misjudged her that much? No, he had his faults but misinterpretation wasn't one of them. He was soon proved, if only slightly right as she questioned his name. "Hmm, well I don't think I can say for sure that there is one universal name that is used. More like, many different variations of the same idea. Mostly from females who don't like to have their self confidence deflated by the truth. But some by females who simply didn't wake up next to me the next morning." He shrugged slightly, nervous about actually stating that but - better out than in! He nodded solemnly to himself as he watched Nefertari's actions closely. She was quite the striking female, very sweet and innocent, yet no fearful of the world. She wasn't half bad actually, and she didn't shy from his somewhat harsh truths.
Lost in his own thoughts, Ulimi had to catch himself when she began talking again, his mind now completely taken off guard. He hadn't even expected something like this to happen - but somehow it was. Surprised, the male continued staring, his mouth slowly falling open as he listened, a loss for words a complete understatement. He was hardly shaken from his stupor as she gently brazed his cheek. Shaking himself out of it, he tried to find the right words to fit how he felt. Now he had to care for another - something he'd never done before. Sure, he was capable but was she capable of dealing with him? He wasn't so sure. But, she seemed to intent, excited, and downright anxious. What exactly was she seeing in him right now?
Still slightly confused, he finally spoke up. "W-Well that was a bit unexpected." He mumbled slightly, his mouth still slightly agape, but his tail slightly wagging behind him. "Are you sure that's what you want? I'm not the easiest lion to deal with..." Ulimi paused, as her adorable excited actions crept into his mind. He couldn't say no, physically couldn't say no. It was as if his free flowing tongue had finally capped itself off at the most inopportune time. "But if it is truly what you want, I would consider myself proud to walk beside a lioness such as yourself Nefertari." He grinned slightly, urging himself to lean over and brush her cheek in return, but stubbornly refusing out of fear of awkwardness. "I just want you to make sure it's the right decision for you."

Actually, since you were still interested in the mate plot, I wanted to run the idea past you before I made it a definite. If you'd like the two to travel to the U'W i'm still up for it.
