The mare gave a gentle nicker cuddling up to her stallion. It was a giant leap they were taking together, but she was determined to make something of it. The mare's tail flicked idly as she played with his, her red eyes glistening at his gaze. At his explanation, she tilted her head a little. "She's with foal?" Kainda's thoughts began to run a little thinking it would be better that she not take up child. But she couldn't help but smile at her compliments and his voice so full of praise and love for her. The mare nipped at his chin lightly with a whicker. "I love you all the same, darling Dark Tide." Her voice was a gentle whisper.

Her eyes went wide at Dark Tide's reactions. He..he wanted children? Were they that serious? Kainda's heart was racing quickly as her mind flashed with possibilities. How was she to raise their young? Her parents were nomadic and extremely harsh. Could she do it and make Tide proud? He seemed to insist on both of their capabilities as Dark Tide described how their foals would turn out...how amazing they would be. She began to think of a strong cold when he expressed he wanted a filly. Kainda was shocked that the male wanted a little girl, and yet it made her feel better. It made her feel all the more confident of becoming a mother. "I'm sure we'll split both sides, dear heart. I'd rather our children be a healthy mix of both. That way, they know where they came from." She looked down as if toward her belly imagining to be round and full. "Dark Kai..." Kainda murmured gently wondering if it sounded well. When the time was right, she'd ask him.

"Tide..." She murmured gently. "What...what are we now?"

"I don't know Kainda but I love you and I want no other. What does that make us?" he asked her his ears pricked forward. He was curious to know what she thought. He wasn't sure what they were but he did know that they were more than boyfriend/girlfriend. He loved her, she was his Kainda. He wanted her by his side every night. He wanted to have children with her and he wanted to keep her safe and proud. No other male would hurt his Kainda with out him squashing them beneath his hooves. She was precious.

Her head tilted to get a better look at his facial expressions, his eyes mostly. He was asking her? Kainda realized that sometimes Tide was just as confused as she was if not worse at other times. He was a strong stallion with a good set of physical traits, and his mental prowess often blew her away sometimes. Genuinely, she felt for him and wanted to be more. But her beliefs? The humans that he would willingly protect even if it meant his life..? This was a huge step for her...

The striped mare took a breath opening her mouth to speak. "Tide...we need to talk. You know this was going to come sooner or later." She stepped away from him to give each other space and to clear her mind. His smell often enveloped her, made it hard for her to think. "I love you, Tide. You know that. But we believe in two different ideals. You want to protect the very things I despise. Humans aren't worth us. They aren't even worth themselves." She eyed him warily. Ever since being with him, she had started to become on the fence with her view on humans. This was now his chance to sway her onto either side.

[If this relationship works over the long run, I'll consider changing her alignment to good whee We'd have to have a bit more RP to prove it though.]

"Have I bonded with a human? No. Do I see humans on a regular basis? No. Would I help an innocent party if they were in trouble? Yes. But I would do that be they Azrein or Human. That is why I am a good alignment, it was the way I was raised and the alignment of my herd. I love you and I will never leave." he said. He spoke his heart that was all he knew. He also knew that dispite their differences and the odd spat that he could live happily with Kainda.

He inched forward and floofed her forlock over to the other side of her forhead. "My Kainda, you should not worry about this, we havent even come across a human together yet. Its not like I drool all over them. They are just usefull when you need to weave a basket or something and have no hands." he smirked.

As much as he spoke to pacify her fears and dislikes, Kainda was still annoyed at his heroic side. Why would he stick his neck out for anyone anyway? It's not like he would ever see them again or get any sort of reward out of it. But this was his way as he said. He was raised as such to protect all life where she was only raised to protect herself.

The last part of their conversation cut her thoughts short. It surprised her how cunning Dark Tide could be or act. He was not only a charmer, but a deviant of mind which made her quiver with excitement. Maybe...maybe there was a darker side to him that she had yet to see. Maybe he was more practical than she gave him credit for. The mare nipped at his lower lip taking in his scent. "Well...I suppose you do have a point, beloved.... But then her face became a little more serious. "And what of our foals? How do we raise them?"

He nibbled along her long lithe neck. "I think, my heart, that we should let our children chose for themselves, that way it would be fair." He brushed his soft nose over where he had nibbled. He was so lucky. He leered at her with smoldering eyes. There truly was no equal for Kainda. He heaved a sigh and cocked a hoof. He watched the sun play with her stripes. "How many children do you want Kainda?" he asked with excitement in his voice. "Where shall we live? Not too close or too far from the herd I don't think I want to abandon my brothers but I don't want to be curtailed from my true potential as your love."

The mare tilted her head a little, ears flicking back then toward him in interest. "Well...maybe. I want our children to have some sort of guidance...even if it's just a little." The mare again thought back to her parents. They weren't there, but sometimes they were and when they were, it was refreshing and calming. As much as she wanted their foals to have freedom, they may not even know what to do with it.

His question caught her off guard a little. How many did she want? "It depends...If we don't have any intention to move...I want as many as you want. If we will be constantly on the move like my parents, only one or two. It wouldn't be fair to them." Her eyes searched his for a moment reveling in the idea of having children with Dark Tide. He was everything she ever wanted in a stallion, and they were beginning to get closer. She enjoyed their time together and it got to the point where she wanted to follow him home. Instead, she slept in their little glade next to his pond or went back to the area where she beat up so many trees. "We can live where the pond is...I don't think that's very far from her brother's herd." It was refreshing to see that he was thinking of her. She definitely wouldn't want to lose him now. That would only make it harder on her, especially if she were to be with foal. "Anywhere is fine...but I will have to meet your brother's herd eventually. They will wonder where you are most of the time.." Kainda slipped away from him heading out toward the fields as if inviting him to go now.

"They have figured out that I am with a female when I am not at home or on patrol, but they have no idea exactly how much you mean to me. Enough so that I would leave the herd for you if I had too. I don't think they often see me as capable of deep thought or deep emotions. I never really show it much because they all have their significant others with them and in my opinion are to absorbed with that to look much deeper then their own snouts." he paused to catch his breath. "I don't particularly want to move around all the time, I would prefer to stay in one spot, or at least stay in that spot more often then not. I would love to have many children." he nodded. "As on the point of guidance we could explain our positions to our children and support them in their choices, does that sound right?"

Her mate had definitely given a mouthful, and she sensed how he was feeling. It disgusted her how his herd could simply treat him as a simpleton when he was obviously more than so. "You should still make yourself known no matter what. Even if it in front of their mates. Show them up a little." The mare gave a gentle whicker looking into his eyes. There was so much quiet emotion there it was deafening. If only they would see who he truly was.

Kainda gave a gentle nod. "That's true. I think we can make that work. And I think talking to them when they do need us is another good thing too. I want them to be independent..but I want them to know that we are there for them." The mare nudged his cheek gently taking in his scent with a sigh. Kainda was comfortable here. She didn't want to leave this little serenity she found.

As Kainda nudged his chest, he felt his heart lurch and the pillars of his world came tumbling down. He now knew for sure he had found what he had looked for. His mate, no other mare would ever compare and she had ruined him for all others. He was irrevocably hers and he would fight to the death for her and their future children even if he had to fight his family. Tide had grown up and discovered his true self.

He knelt. "Kainda, will you be my life mate? You are my world and in your eyes I see the future I have been looking for. Be my Queen?"

Kainda nuzzled into his chest reveling in the touch of his muscles. He was strong in both mind and body. How could she ignore the strong attraction between them? Her heart was beating a mile a minute taking in his scent - his musk.

Which was taken from her as he moved away. Kainda snapped her eyes open to protest, but the sight she beheld was...moving. He was bowing to her, but why? She opened her mouth to speak, but he beat her to it. At first, the mare backed up a little everything in her body screaming for her to run. But her heart was begging her to stay. Begging her to accept. Kainda closed her lowering her head so that her hair blocked her face. Her head or her heart? It was such a strange choice...

Kainda suddenly pictured lilies - their lilies. She pictured his pond that would be their home. She pictured strong foals following them as they ran across the fields. Her breathing was no longer erratic but one of a steady heart beat. She opened her eyes staring at him through her hair. Kainda didn't mind to keep him waiting. Dark Tide was truly her heart's other half and there was no way she would leave him now. No way that there would be ever another male to compare to him. The mare knelt down to match his gaze, flicking her head back to move her mane from her face and eyes. "I will. But only if you ask me as your equal, not bowing to me. I want - no, need - a King that can be strong as his Queen." Kainda reached out and nudged his nose with hers as if solidifying her answer.

The mare was home. There was no else she wanted to be now. No where else but at her mate's side. "I wonder...what will your brother's think now? They may take it as you abandoning them..." Why Kainda cared, she didn't know. But she had changed somewhat. She was no longer a power hungry mare thirsting for the next big catch that would take her to the top. She still couldn't stand humans, but the hate was not quite as strong now, not even there she would dare say. As much as Tide had grown up, so did she. Maybe this was where she needed to be...Tide was her big catch and they would rise to the top - together.

"They may think what they wish, I am not moving far and my loyalty is to you. Ask Ion if he would rather hang around with me or Opal? No contest. It is the same with you. Besides I find your conversation so much more interesting," he winked at her. "Hellfyre just drones on and on about how hot Prism is and Ion fusses over his pregnant mate while their adoptive demon child tries to eat my fish while I am not looking."

"I love you Kainda. I have since the first time we sparred I think. Hmm, now that will be an interesting bedtime story for the children, don't you think?"

"I would believe that your brother would of course choose his mate , but...what if the situation required he choose one or the other?" The mare tilted her head slightly in thought. "No one wants to be forced to choose anything beloved...it is scary to think of." Kainda flicked her tail a little. Her ears perked forward as she heard about the fish. "Oh I'm sure he wouldn't go through with it. He probably does it just to tease you. Well Hellfyre is the youngest brother is he not? It's just like a crush." The mare gave a whicker as if to laugh a little.

She did definitely get a chuckle out of Tide's remarks about how they met. Indeed, she was surprised at how he could find her attractive at her most fiercest moment, but who could blame him? A strong stallion definitely needed a strong mare of mind and body to back him up. "Bed time story? I...I'm not sure what you mean." Kainda's red eyes searched him. She had never really had a bed time story because well...her parents never really fostered affection. She learned it from her time as an adult being with others of her kind and many different lovers. She never knew affection toward a foal and its parents. It was something new to her.

"You give some very interesting insight my love. Perhaps you are right about that little twerp Illian. It certianly is amusing to watch him torture Hellfyre. I also believe you are right about the crush he seemed to have on Prism, they really like each other but I don't think it is an exclusive thing. Though one or the other might come back for more at some point." he looked into her deep reddish eyes and saw a truly amazing and endlessly intelligent creature look back at him. He had truly sound his soulmate and he would eat any stallion who said otherwise whole.

"A bedtime story is just a fable used to put little ones to sleep. You could even use the one about the time we met. My favorite was the rainbow river that told of a great snake and in the snakes wake rivers were formed. That is why they are all windy and bad tempered you know. If you don't know of any, just make one up, they will never know the difference. Like the story of the orange striped mare who took on a six and won type stuff." He grinned. "Not even the six would be a match for you my love, one look and they would be gonners." He kissed her cheek.

"Some could have said the same thing about you and me." The mare teased as Tide agreed with her on Prism and Hellfyre. At first, Kainda was only meaning for her little flirt with Tide to lead him to her cause - the original plan that she and Rakai came up with. But the mare got side tracked and fell into something deeper than she was willing to admit or want to acknowledge..until it slapped her in the face and forced her to.

This forcing wasn't so bad however as she gazed into her now official mate's eyes. His dark, brooding, sexy green eyes. The mare couldn't help but give a visible quiver as she nosed him with her own, nostrils flaring to catch his deep musk and earthy scent.

Beating the Six...oh there was something funny. To think she thought them as a joke and wanted to create a band even more sinister than they. To think she was a different mare only a few moon spans before. Kainda flicked her ears forward a little as she tried her hand at this sort of thing, this fable that he described. "Or a black and white spotted stallion who rescued a fiery, blue maned princess from a dark and evil sorcerer in the dungeon?" It was a start for Kainda. At least she was trying.
