As Herryk stepped back, Pur lost her bearings on the ground and slipped forward just managing to catch herself before she hit the ground. She looked up and his quiet yet stunned expression was enough to tell Pur he had understood what she had said. She drew a shaky breath and exhaled in the same way.
"I...," Pur went to speak again, but she wasn't quick enough in her words. As she managed to open her mouth and begin her sentence Herryk took off on her. As quick as a torrenting wind she was alone.
"Come back!" She yelled, falling to the forest floor once again in exhaustion. Why? Why didn't things ever go smoothly for her? She wondered this and she rested her head against the leaves and the mud, left to contemplate what she would do next.
