"Really?" Brynja - aware of the brief moment of tension, but not entirely sure of it's cause - relaxed a little, fingers gently tickling Mal under the chin. She had caused some sort of trouble, that was obvious - even if she didn't entirely understand why - and dropping the subject was definitely a good idea. "Shards, these're the first ones I've sat through since I was old enough to help crew"
That had been pretty much the Best Day Ever - sure, learning was alright, but crewing a boat? Crewing a boat was amazing, and practical. Pretty harper songs didn't bring in the fish, and they didn't mend nets or gut fish (she was fairly sure her hands still stank of fishguts from the last big haul). She would have gone mad if she'd not been able to do that - being stuck indoors all day would be the Worst Thing Ever.
"So how excited are you for the hatching?" Brynja added, her voice coming up in an excited squeak at the end that nearly turned a couple of heads. "I'm really excited"

Mal continued to eat up every bit of attention Brynja gave her while Dezima smiled at the happysohappy feelings Mal kept sending her. A flash of surprise flickered across her features while she considered what Brynja had just said. "Really? I've...shells, I don't even know how many classes I've had. Enough that it's a familiar thing now. Wait, crew? You helped crew?" Oooh this was interesting and sounded like it promised a good story or several!
Of course that expectation of hearing some good stories flew out the window momentarily at mention of the hatching to be. "Ooooh yes I am!" Dezima giggled at her new friend. "So excited. I've not been able to keep from glancing out towards the Sands a few times. But we can't get near them currently. Not time. But oh man I can't wait to have the chance to Stand! And see the dragons hatch!" Clearly, the answer was hell yes she was excited.
Before she could get anything else out, the classes attention was snagged long enough for them to be told they were dismissed. Oh excellent! Dezima glanced at Brynja with a huge grin. "Say, you wanna hang out for a bit and tell me about that time you helped crew? And we can talk about the eggs! And the hatching soon to come!" Even as she spoke, Dezima was snatching her stuff up to set away while Mal peeped and launched into the air to circle around her.
"C'mon! I'll show you around while we're at it." Her smile was friendly and the weyrbrat couldn't contain her happiness at finding a possible new friend.
