Tin smiled brightly. "Well, then, it is a great pleasure to meet you, Pachelbel," she replied, liking the way that kuh sound in the middle of his name came from the back of her mouth. It was almost rough and elegant at the same time. "You can call me Tin, and thank you," she added, turning her head away a little bashfully. Compliments from guys weren't something she was exactly used to - the only compliments she'd ever gotten had been from father figures and her brothers - but they definitely felt nice on her ears.
"You're an amazing dancer," she returned, letting herself admire him a little. "You must have tons of talent and skill, to work with those bells the way you did... I only saw you dancing earlier for maybe a few seconds, but that dance we just did..." She trailed off, not knowing how to describe it. He was awe-inspiring. "I would ask you how you did it, but I've heard that a magician never reveals his tricks," she said, winking as her shy cover began to slip a little. It wasn't that she meant to be shy - it was just a natural thing until she knew someone well enough to show her true self. Although, dancing for this guy had definitely been a breakthrough when it came to first encounters... Mentally rolling her eyes at herself, Tin turned her attention back to Pachelbel. She seemed to be thinking way too much today - she couldn't stay focused on this handsome guy in front of her, which was odd...
Realizing her mouth was a bit dry, she asked, "Would you like to go find some water with me? It's getting rather hot in the sun..."

Pach blushed slightly at her compliment and the wink. He shuffled a hoof. "It's nothing really..." he cut off his start of explanation though when she mentioned she was thirsty. "Oh I know of a pool not far from here. I've spent a lot of time in these woods. My grandmother lives close by...well when she's around anyway." he nodded his head and directed her though a break in the underbrush. He went over and moved aside a branch and shyly motioned her through, trying not to blush hard when she had to brush past him to get by.
He let the branch snap back into place and walked along with her in the much cooler shade of the trees. "As for the dancing...Some of it is just practice, practice, practice under my mother's guidance, but even she says that's not all of it. She thinks some of my ability is due to flutter blood. My grandmother and father are both flutter types so she thinks while my brother got the wings, I got a little of the grace and dexterity of flutter kind. I can make more pinpoint maneuvers, and maybe a little more attuned to my bells because of it. She teases my father that while he can't dance well he does have wonderful rhythm." he glanced over and smiled at her, then motioned ahead. "There's the pool." he said indicating a deep clear pool of water fed by a little stream. "Careful, its ice cold." he warned her.

Tin followed him as he led the way to the pool that he was talking about, trying to squeeze elegantly between Pach and a branch, but failing miserably when her wild mane got caught. Carefully freeing herself, Tin accidentally bumped into him. "Sorry," she apologized quietly, stepping ahead into the little clearing in which the pool was as he spoke. The whole place was beautiful and peaceful - a kind of tranquil she hadn't seen in a long time.
As he talked about his family, Tin listened carefully, wondering what it would be like to have grandparents. When he was finished, she said, "I have never seen a flutter, but I've heard that they're stunning..." She trailed off again. Her trains of thought were just derailing all over the place today. "You are lucky to have grandparents. My parents are foreigners to this land - my mother is fairly certain she didn't have parents to begin with," she continued, on the subject of family. Not sure whether she should let him on to the parenting she had had, she cautiously left that part out. Maybe another day she would tell him about her biological father. Of course, if he ever met her parents, he'd know right away that something was off, seeing as she was the spitting image of her biological father (minus the leaves, of course). Kenton, her foster father, was a big, brown, full-blooded Cerynei. There were too many discrepancies between their appearances for them to even be remotely related - but Kenton was her only real father.
Walking over to the pool, Tinúviel looked down in it. "This place is so quiet and peaceful, Pach," she murmured, turning her head to glance at him. "Come over here, I want to show you something."

Pach nodded. "I take after my father, so...Possibly?" he hazard. He tried to figure out if he was fishing for a compliment there or not. It wasn't really in his nature to do so, but he wondered if it would be such a terrible thing if she thought he was handsome. He frowned a bit though, what if he took her to the grove one day, and she met Beat...and she liked Beat more than him, and not just like but Like Like. He mentally flailed. He loved his brother, but he didn't really want to lose this mare to his dashing brother.
He broke off his train of thought and looked back at Tinúviel. "I guess...I don't see her very often. Grandma Clef is sort of elusive, and you can never really find her when you want to. I've never met my aunt and uncle either, who were born after my father went off with my mother."
Pachelbel watched her and then tilted his head setting off the bell in his mane. "What is it?" he asked moving next to her to look into the pool.

Tin smiled at him. Pach was such a cutie, though she was pretty sure she shouldn't tell him that. He'd probably just blush and clam up, and she didn't like making people uncomfortable. Plus, she wouldn't have as much fun with him if she said something that made him flustered. Nodding as he talked about his grandmother, she glanced at him as he strode elegantly closer to her. His grace distracted her from the little orange-flashing fish in the bottom of the pool...
Realizing she was staring, Tin looked back down into the pond just in time to notice that her hooves were right on the edges of the bank. And the dirt was crumbling beneath them. And - sploooosh!
Crying out a little bit, Tinúviel tumbled into the pool.

Pach stared into the depths of the pool not sure what he was supposed to be looking at. He was slightly disappointed that she didn't comment one way or another about what he'd said about his appearance, but it was probably for the best. His eyes widened and he cried out a bit ,his bells jangling discordantly, as he watched her plunge into the pool. "Tin!" he rushed back to the edge and watched her with wide worried eyes. "Are you okay? Are you hurt?" he said all in a rush.
He knew the pool wasn't that deep, but it was possible she could have turned an ankle falling in. He looked around quickly, looking for something to help her out of the pool with. He frowned not finding anything then looked at his chest then back to her. "Here, grab the bottom of my scarf, I'll help you out." he said stretching towards her.

Coughing slightly, Tin surfaced. She was whole and uninjured, but now that she had been submerged... She figured it was time for some fun. "I'm fine, I'm fine, Pach," she said, laughing. Reaching up to where he stood, she gripped his scarf in her teeth, trying her best not to tear it as she dragged down to the side, so he wouldn't fall on top of her if he slid into the pool like she hoped he would. In her foal humor, she never stopped to think whether or not he would care about getting wet... But then again, he needed an icebreaker. And then maybe she would compliment his looks - he was certainly far too handsome to go without at least a little bit of praise, poor guy.

He was relieved when she said she was alright, he didn't really know what he'd do if she was hurt. He moved just a bit closer to let her grab his scarf, his hooves dangerously close to the edge. He swallowed a bit as she grabbed his scarf, she was so close he could feel the warmth off her body.
He blinked though when instead of just a firm hold she started to tilt. "Wha--? Wai--!" he felt the edge of the pool crumble under his hooves and his back ones start to slip. With a resounding splash he landed next to her in the pool. He gasped a bit at the shock from the cold water then stared at her incredulously. "Why did you do that?" he asked blinking at her. There was no anger in his voice, just stunned disbelief, with a hint of amusement.

Sputtering and giggling at the wave of water that rushed over her head and Pach's expression, she aimed a small splash at him with her hoof. "Well, I thought it might be a little bit of ice-breaking fun," Tin said, spinning around in a little circle in the water. "Plus, it really is hot out there, and my system doesn't take dehydration well." She gave him an apologetic look - though he didn't sound angry (rather, he sounded a bit like he was enjoying this), one never knew what might be going on in a stallion's head. "You're not mad at me, are you?" she asked, sincerely hoping he wasn't. She could feel a little bit of his warmth radiating through the water toward her, and though it felt nice, she thought she might be going insane. Somehow she'd managed to get herself into this beautiful mess with a sweet boy, and she didn't think she'd be wanting out anytime soon.

Pach shook his head quickly and wrinkling his nose when the water hit it. "No!" he said. "Why would I be mad at you?" he asked. "Mother sort of shoved us all in the water at one time or another. You can't fear what you understand. Its good logic." he nodded. He mentally kicked himself. He really needed to find ways to stop talking about his mother...it must sound so pathetic to her.
He frowned a bit about the dehydration...he wasn't sure he understood. "Is...that because...you're a child of the forest?" he asked hesitantly, hoping she wouldn't be offended. Although the children of the forest were renowned for their beauty and wisdom, he didn't really think anyone could be offended by that...but you never knew with some girls.
Then in a moment of spontaneity that surprised even him, he twisted his head to the side and dipped it in the water throwing a small wall of it towards her.

Tin laughed - she could almost imagine Pach's quirky family playing in the water, though she didn't know them. "That is good logic," she replied, having forgotten about his question. "You sound like you're really close to your family." It was charming, how much he talked about his family... Subconsciously, she wondered a bit why she never really talked about her own...
Tin smiled a bit shyly. "Actually, I'm a grandchild of the forest," she said. "My mother is a nymph - a dryad. My brother looks far more like her than I do... But that's kind of why I dance the way I do," she explained. "I can hear the trees singing."
Giggling as the water splashed against her again, Tin splashed him right back, edging a little closer to give the wave maximum impact. She had a small feeling that this might turn into a water war...

"Well I still live with them." he admitted. He knew some might be turned off by the fact he still lived at home, but it was home. Where else would you go? Eventually he supposed he'd leave the fruit grove and make his own way, but there was no point it doing so yet. Maybe someday soon...but...he shook his head, right now he was happy dancing with his family. Even if it didn't compare to even a moment with Tin.
Pach blinked and nodded at her answer. "I think its amazing no matter what it is exactly that you do. I'd never seen anyone move like that before." he gushed.
He snorted as water got in his nose then splashed her back laughing as he did so.

"I still live with my family, too," she said, not including the fact that her family was one of the head families in her herd. Smiling, she thanked him and added, "I've never seen anyone dance like you, either. You're amazing."
Tin couldn't help it - splashing him back was automatic, and so was the laughter that came with it. Mentally kicking herself from the unstoppable flirting, she realized the obvious; she liked him. A lot. If she hadn't, she would have treated him the same way she treated any guy - teasing and distant. But she allowed him to get a little bit closer to her inner self, the one she hid from everyone, even her family... Though she wasn't sure he knew that, it was true.

Pach blushed just slight and shuffled feeling embarrassed for a moment. "Thank you." he said, tossing his forelock out of his eyes to get a good look at her. She was something else, and the way she danced, whoa! It blew his mind. He vaguely remembered a long ago conversation with his parents when he and Beat had finally been old enough to take interests in girls "that way", that one day they'd meet someone with who'd they'd fit with. Someone who you knew you could be yourself. Someone who made you feel like you were home. He'd been embarrassed at such a topic of conversation, especially with parents, but he'd listened and considered it all later alone.
He looked at Tin again. He wasn't sure, but he thought he felt some of that with her. For once he didn't feel as awkward and silly as he usually did, he was honestly comfortable around her, or at least as comfortable as he ever got. And when they danced? Pach knew that if he lived another 100 years he'd never meet another partner who could move with him like she did. He didn't say any of this of course, just locked it away in his heart to be examined later. For now he'd enjoy her company and their water fight, which as it continued, mixed with the sound of their laughter, was like a song and dance of its own.
