She smiled a little cocky smile "I did survive a tsunami you know?" She smiles softly, "I suppose you got me out of trouble then though didn't you?" She looks up at the big male, she had known he would be something to her, something special fromt he time he rescued her, when he carried her fromt he far pools and brought her home. He'd fixed her leg and now she barely limped at all and that was all thanks to him.
"Maybe I'll get you out of trouble next time." She shakes her head, no, he was her eternal saviour,s he knew it and she knew he would be protective of her, she was much younger than he after all and she had plenty more mistakes to make, Xenon was not one of them. He was one of the very few good things in her young life and she intended to hold on to that.
She followed the big male, keeping up with his pace though his wide steps made her leap sometimes and she was almost jogging sometimes to keep up with him. They stopped before the cve entrance and a smile rose on her maw. They weren't leaving the Bahari, he was teasing her. Looking up at him she pouts a little and nips at his cheek. "You were going to let me think we were leaving? I'll get you back for that." She giggles breaking off from his shoulder to look at the den. "Is it ours Xenon?" She asks looking back at him with wide dancing eyes.

"I considered it a fitting test," Xenon replied vaguely, a wry smile on his lips as she expressed her mild discontent at his teasing and attempts to 'leave' the Bahari. If he was entirely honest he'd been curious as to whether or not she really would leave with him, but given he'd settled nicely into the Bahari he had no real intention of leaving. Provided he could disappear to hunt for a period of days he was content, otherwise, the need to be nomadic and follow the herds seemed to have dissipated from his psyche - he'd just end up 'homesick' and he was getting too 'old' to be chasing herd beasts anyway.
...Well, that's what he'd have others believe.
""But I would say that yes, this would happen to be ours," he murmured, following after the lioness at a much slower pace as she sought to inspect the den he'd brought her to. "It's the only place large enough to accommodate someone my size," he pointed out with a small snort - that, and he found caves more comfortable to lie in than sand. Suffice to say that Xenon had a preference for rock rather than grainy textures, though he was sure Afina would make it comfortable for herself in other ways - hell, if he wasn't careful he'd come back to find it covered in pink seashells.
"And it's still cosy enough for someone your size," he continued before shaking his head. "Add that to the fact that it's a suitable distance away from the tide while still being close to your family's den and well... I thought it would suit."

Flashing a little glare at the older male the young lioness chuckles quietly. "it was a test for all of us you know?" She sighs lightly, if the tsunami hadn't come, she never would have met Xenon, but the pride wouldn't have been in such disarray and maybe, just maybe Xenon would have come and gone, he never would have stayed for more than a day, looked at the sea and gone. The tsunami had been a blessing and a curse. For her, it had been more a blessing.
Afina smiles "It's perfect, well it will be." She turns to Xenon and licks his nose playful before she struts in to the darkness of the den. She would make it comfortable for the both of them and she would look after Xenon. She would make sure he was happy, as happy as she was right now, her heart all fluttery and her stomach full of butterflies.
"Come on, I need to see how much reed I need to bring in." She calls from inside the shadows of the den. "Theres much to do."

"You mean how much reeds I will need to bring in," Xenon replied in good humour, obediently following after the lioness who had taken to her task like a duck to water. He had to give himself a pat on the back though, he'd scouted the area out on his own and found something he regarded as more than just 'sufficient'. More impressive than that, he'd found a place that she appreciated and approved of...or at least he could assume he had since she hadn't wrinkled her nose or shown any form of horror. Suffice to say that Afina was suitably vocal that he could assume she would make her dislike perfectly clear!
Nevertheless, rather than dwell on her potential dislike he took her reaction as a good sign and from this point on, humoured her. As they always said, a den was a lioness's territory, not a lions, and as such she was entitled to make her demands until she was satisfied - if he ended up with paw print paintings all over the walls to brighten up the decor, then so be it... It wasn't as if he hadn't been subjected to weirder requests.
