"Yep. Our own world, place and way to deal with things. Or at lease one that makes sense." She grinned laughing finally after all of this properly, "Pawns becoming queens, the day I'm a queen will be a hell of a day."
Looking at her hand of bones again she turned a bit to face Barth slightly below her, "You gota work to get that spot of yours Barth, just the way it looks like it might be." She rolled her eyes thought as he continued. "Sorry Pillows. The world is bigger then your living room."
Slowly she shifted dropping off the cross shrugging her shoulders. "Still got my brick phone?"

Barth cringed. "I hope not. Common misconception, really. That you have to work to get what you want. Not if you're a really good Sloth demon." He was, at best, a mediocre one. It bothered him.
"It's over there," Barth said. "Although throwing it around probably isn't helping its reception. Do you mind if I, err?"

"Sorry Pillows, some of us don't like laying around when you can change things on the fly." She moved over and gave a pat to the shoulder before shrugging at his request for the phone.
Moving away she scooped it up passing it over, "What you can make it a deathbot like that one you made in class? Hardly fair by the way; teaming up with Chris. That's just mean."

"...I suppose I could," Barth said, using one claw to fiddle with the back plate. "If you don't mind me keeping it a little longer. I was just going to fiddle a bit."
He smiled, slightly, at the teaming up with Chris comment.
"I told you how I feel about fair fights."
As far as that went. The only sure way he knew to win the election, all considering, was to get Riley disqualified. There was still time before the ballots were in. Calder had been nearly expelled for drowning another student. Given the atmosphere and Riley's temper, he didn't think it would be too hard to arrange his own attempted murder. But his (and Riley's, he assumed) goals extended well past the election, and while he has spent a lot of time bothering that particular bridge, there were better ways to use it than burning it.
As for Christof, he wasn't sure there was any use asking Sammy what she thought. He doubted there was new information to glean on the subject. Speeches were over. Christof would not have voted for him. And after graduation, Barth had no interest in sharing the same little part of Halloween with Riley. As it stood, if Christof had to divide his loyalties, Barth would end up with nothing.
He tested the connectors in the phone for anything loose, then the battery, then looked for any old or damaged parts gumming up the works. The phone, as Sammy had said, was cheap. But not too complicated.
"...I do like collaborating with Christof," he said. "I wish I inspired as much confidence in him as..." he hesitated, but finished any way. "...as Riley seems to."

"A new one at this rate would be better... but after that little deathbot I'm sure you'll think of something to make this phone worth using again."
She chuckled, at his comment on the fighting, he did have a rather good point on his regards to fighting. What happened next though was an odd moment of silence as it seemed like the boil was mulling over things beyond just a phone.
She had to admit if she knew what he was thinking she would feel horrible, Riley had flat-out asked her to help with the election, and though she wasn't sure how Riley felt about her now it wasn't in her nature to agree to something and simply back away from it. Had Barth asked first, it might have been a different story.
"Let's face it Pillows, Riley is a...a silver tongued demoness who doesn't even have a tongue." She shrugged a bit meekly, "Not to mention if you haven't noticed she does have certain features that Chris is very fond of in Ghouls, trust me, I know how he feels on that front."
Still it seemed weak to say that and pretty much drive a nail into the coffin of his fears. "He's still your friend though even if he is some servant to her and the Doc...how you win him over, or get the same confidence... welllll you might have to keep breaking that low profile thing, and start really doing something big to get his attention."
She grinned a bit and reached over ruffling his already bed ridden hair, "Let's face it, a halfasleep Demon isn't exactly the first banner someone would think to gather around?"

Something big. Like running for SC President?
"The same thoughts occurred to me," Barth said. He had rearranged and tightened a few things, concentrating a smidgeon of Fear (Receive) into the old parts before closing the phone back up.
"I think I'm just terminally un-intimidating. Here. ....Let me know if you just want it to eat other people's phones instead."

"Well, running for President works, but Riley is as well, stand out. Do something awesome that even she isn't doing and you might get his attention better?" She watched as he poked at her phone, eventually it was returned and instantly started to beep with a trickle of missed text messages.
"Maybe, you are a Demon though; play your cards right you can be a lot worse then you think." Clicking through her phone she noted it was still a piece of junk, but thanks to Barth is was actually a piece of junk that worked now.
"Seems like a nice feature, could it cannibalize and upgrade from what it ate? That would be a nice feature..."
There could only be one.

He had set down the permission slip while he fiddled with the phone. He picked it up again.
"Maybe if I continue to survive field trips, I'll have a better hand of cards to play with."
He looked suddenly...alert at her cell phone feature suggestion.
"I'd have to think about the cannibalizing. But that's a very interesting idea." Usually an object that consumed something with similar Fear just ended up exploding. But the application for a process like that, outside of cell phones... "Drop it off by my dorm later and I'll see what I can do."

"Well if you plan on surviving them we need to turn these sheets in." She raised an eyebrow as he practically seemed to perk up at her suggestion.
"Well maybe not really cannibalizing but you know, borrowing parts or something..." She shrugged, it sounded completely impossible to her, but if anyone could do it, it might as well be Barth. "Take it, I'll drop by in a day or so for it, I can use Siddie's till then."

"We do indeed. ...Alright," Barth said, accepting the phone. "I'll just tinker a bit. And err, try not to send out any messages from your phone that are too incriminating."
Sammy looked like she wasn't on the verge of a breakdown any more. She was a strong fighter (stronger than him, certainly), but beyond that he didn't know her very well.
"...If you need to talk about that pillow fort, let me know."
