In all honesty, Nate hadn't expected to lose his temper. It just sorta of happened... Being the protective and jealous man that he was, he just snapped and couldn't stop. This was the first time he had ever felt like this about someone and he already ******** it up once, and it appeared he was about to muff it up once again. How did his ******** brother do this s**t? Letting out a low growl as he removed his fist from the hole in the wall, the werewolf was about to get up and leave so Adrian would stew in her anger by herself. However that wasn't going to be the case. Not since she started to hit him. In Adrian's defense, she landed some good hits but not good enough to hurt him. He was a werewolf for Gods' Sake! It would take a hell of a lot more than this to hurt him. However, the man just stood there and took all the hits knowing full good and well that he deserved them, and his anger slowly started to disappear as he listened to her angry words. She hated him...

Was that honestly the truth? If the man had ears at the moment, they would be flat against his head but those thoughts were ended when a hand hit one of his newly acquired wounds. Letting out a growl and grabbing her hand, a spot of growing red could be seen through his white shirt. ******** bears.
"Would you shut the hell up for a minute! I know that you're mad alright. You have ever ******** right to be!" Pulling her off of him, Nate pulled off his shirt to reveal a large tattered shoulder that was starting to bleed heavily. Wadding his shirt up, the wolf placed it against the wound and glared over at the woman in pain. "You don't understand anything about werewolves! Nothing at all and if you did, you would ******** understand why I left. I didn't ******** abandon you Adrian. I left in order to protect you from me! But what the hell ever. Do whatever the ******** you want..." Giving her a look of pain, Nate growled and left his room to go into the kitchen. It wasn't possible for werewolves to die from blood loss, but after losing a bit of it one could get dizzy and pass out until it healed. Stumbling his way down the stairs, Nate started to go through his cabinets. What the hell was he going to do.

Every time he tried to talk to her, he just get mad and pissed off again. She would never listen to him when she was angry, and that would never change. Leaning against the cabinets, Nate closed his eyes to keep the room from spinning. His body was tired and spent and it didn't have the energy to heal the wound on his shoulder well at all. He had been on a fourteen hour flight, about a six hour car trip, and then exerted himself in the company. Fighting with Adrian at the moment just wasn't a big thing for him right now. But he had to tell her... Grabbing some pain reliver and swallowing it down, the werewolf made it back to his bedroom. A look of pain and anger was clearly written on his face, but a glint of distress hid in his eyes. Walking closer to her and wrapping his injured armed around her waist, Nate pulled her close and placed his forehead on her shoulder. She was so little compared to him... Swallowing thickly and trying to get rid of his feelings of embarrassment, Nate closed his eyes. Confessing just wasn't one of his strong suits.
"You've got to know something before I pass the ******** out. We can fight some more tomorrow and argue, but I've got to stay this now. So please for the love of God shut the hell up for once." Blood started to seep onto the woman's clothes, and Nate fell to the floor. Bringing her down with him.

Falling on his a** and moving Adrian to wear to landed across his lap, Nate gave her a weak and forced smile.
"I'm sorry for what I did, but I couldn't control myself. Mating wolves are driven by one desire, and I was afraid that if we ended up... doing it... th-then I'd change you... I guess what I-I'm trying to say is..." His body was getting heavier and his eyes wanted to close. He just wanted to sleep... Sleep was good but he had to stay awake! "I-" His arm dropped to the floor before his head hit the wooden floor. His body was beyond exhuasted and it needed the rest. All his anger and emotions took everything it had left. Snoring loudly as his chest slowly raised and fell, Nate didn't move an inch. The floor was probably the worst spot for him but it would do... The bleeding slowed due to the position he was in, but it continued to bleed and run down his side. Bears were always cranky animals... Right now however... Nate just needed to sleep... for a long time....

"I'm more then a number,
More then a pretty face,
And surely,
More then you can handle."

Blind with tears and hate, and so many other emotions it was a wonder she didn't explode, Adrian continue to pound against Nate. A growl came after one of them, and he took hold of her wrist. She looked up at him, her mouth a thin line, her eyes wide with anger. Beneath that, though was fear. She was angry at what he said, but she was afraid of what he could do. What he would do. He had been the one to lock the door. he was the one big enough to stop her from getting out of it again. He could end her in this room so that she would never see the rest of the apartment ever again. He was scary. She was trapped, and her base was on fear. She panted trying to pull her wrist away, if for nothing more then to bot around him and fumble with the lock on the door so she could escape. She closed her eyes then, letting out something like a whine. Her throat hurt, she wasn't yelling anymore. She was trying to get away. Nate was yelling at her, telling her to be quiet, she shook her head. She was already quiet. She was making pathetic noises and she hated herself for it. He removed his shirt and only then did she see it. Blood. Seeping form something in his chest. Had she done that, she watched, her features sinking, her hair wild, tangled, crazy around her face. Half of her thought he deserved to bleed, yet the other half to her she'd done harm and that it was wrong.

Nate was barking now. Not yelling as he had been, but there was still and undertone. She didn't know why he had left. That he hadn't abandoned her. Lie. All lies. Leaving would have had an explanation on where he was going and when he'd been back. He'd abandoned her. Lies. No more. All these lies. She shook her head, her hand on his, pushing away gently still. He left to protect her form himself. She shook her head. It wasn't true. He'd tried to have her before he left. "Do whatever the ******** you want.." He let her go then and left the room. Adrian sank to the ground, pulling in on herself. She caught sight of the mark she bore on her wrist from a past abuser. Her first master. His words came back to her, just as Nate's had. "Mine. You will always be Mine. And mine alone." Nate didn't know. She'd never told him.he'd never asked. She was still hyperventilating form her argument with him. Still afraid. She needed to get out. get away. Even if it was to the safety of her own room. No. Nate had knocked the door down. There was no safety there. If she locked this room, he would break the door down again, when he wanted to have her. He was the Master, wasn't he? He could do whatever the hell he wanted.

Adrian didn't even register when Nate returned to the room, taking hold of her waist. She stiffened again. He couldn't be trusted. He placed his forehead on her shoulder. She wanted to recoil, to push him off of her. She needed him to be away from her. She was thinking of painful, dangerous things. He couldn't be around. He started talking again. He was going to pass out, but she needed to know something. That they could argue later. She made no more noise, feeling something hot and sticky seeping onto her from Nate. His blood. She made a small whimper. Nate fell, and took her body with him, puling her across his lap. He was bleeding. She needed to take care of that. He couldn't die. She needed to stop it. But, he was like Black. They healed fast. Why wasn't his blood stopping? There was something of a smile on Nate's face. She shook her head He was apologizing. He couldn't control himself. He would have changed her if they had sex. He was trying to tell her something else. She looked up to him. "Nate. Tell me." he stuttered again and then slumped over completely, gone from her.

"Nate! Nate get up!" She poked and prodded at him, smacking his cheeks lightly to get him awake, but nothing came. She dashed from his body and the floor and ran to the bathroom. Protection had come. Fear was replaced with dread. She fished around for a first aid kit and then ran back, using his shirt, trying to staunch the flow of blood. that wasn't how she was supposed to do it. She bit her nail, and then opened the kit. Gauze and wraps. Everything she needed to heal him? No. She packed the gauze onto the bleeding wound. She didn't know how to do this! She stuffed more gauze over the wound, placing a bigger patch over the area and then carefully wrapped his shoulder. His limbs were heavy. She shook her head, but wrapped his chest in a bandage, hoping that it would stop the flow of blood. She didn't need him to bleed out. She checked his face and head next, for any bruising form when he hit the floor. Seeing that nothing seemed damaged from that, she shoved at his body. She needed to get him back in a sitting position, but he was so damn heavy! He was probably twice her weight. She grunted, shoving up his torso, trying to be gentle as possible. he was only dead weight, and that was heavy as hell.

She managed to get him into a sitting position. He was leaning against the nightstand. She needed him against the bed. She put her hands under his arms, in his armpits and started to pull. She slipped quite a few times, trying to pull him around. He was SO heavy! She grunted, biting her lip til it bled in force of pulling him against the bed. Next, was even harder. She laid his arms on the bed over his head. Then, getting on the bed herself, she put her hands back in ace in Nate's armpits and attempted to lift him. It was a struggle, because she wasn't that strong. Even with her workouts with Lina, she wasn't that strong. She grit her teeth, yelling with exasperation as she forced Nate's torso on the bed, nearly slipping off the other side herself. Then she moved around to the side where half Nate's body still stretched to the floor, and pulled up his heavy limbs one at a time, doing her best to get his a** on the bed. It was another few minutes before she managed. His body, at shitty angles, would probably hurt when he woke up, and not just form the blood, but the shitty heap she had gotten him on the bed.

Her heart pumped in her chest, and she herself felt dizzy. No protein today and emotional roller coasters and strenuous work. She was about to be down for the count. She shook her head,m sitting at Nate's bedside, watching him, waiting for him to wake up. She wanted to know what he had said. Eventually, , watching Nate, her hand stroking his fingertips, her human body gave her up, making her collapse against the bed, her hand still touching his fingertips as she herself gave into exhaustion. her dreams would not be peaceful. She would be reliving the memories that had been stirred with this. All the memories that she had never shared with anyone. That was her punishment for this.

After he passed out, Nate just laid there not knowing or caring what was going on around him. He was tired and he needed his sleep, and the more rest he got the faster his wound would try to heal. It was hard being a wolf because other creatures in the world knew something was off, and would try to fight or kill you just because of it. Letting out a light snoring/growling noise, Nate's body appeared to be completely lifeless. He didn't move save the rise and fall of his chest. When Adrian had come back and started to mess with his shoulder, his lips pulled back into a growl. His mind didn't register the pain, but his body didn't want to be messed with. He wanted to be left alone so he could rest. The gauze shoved in the large hole wasn't very appreciated. A growl left his lips as his face twitched from pain. Just for all of this pain he'd go back and kill that ******** bear! By the time that Adrian had finished messing with his shoulder, Nate was resting much more peacefully now. One could do that when you didn't ******** around with a fresh wound.

Then came the fun part for Adrian. Trying to lift or move a man over two hundred pounds was no easy feat for a woman who barely weighed over a hundred pounds. The whole entire time the woman was trying to move him, Nate would just snore. All the dead weight of him had to be hard to move, and if he was awake he'd praise the woman for it. Not many woman could do this... unless they were huge and butch... Women that would scare him in other words. When Adrian finally got him all settled in the bed, Nate finally started to sleep quietly. When the woman started to run her fingers along his own, his fingers twitched underneath hers. It was comforting and a small smile appeared on his tired face. This was nice... It was nice to be with Adrian again.

Slowly blinking his eyes open, Nate winced as his shoulder started to throb and the bright light in his room hurt his eyes. Letting out a growl and slowly sitting up, Nate grabbed his phone to see that it was almost dead... and that he had slept for a straight two days. ********. Stretching out his body, Nate froze when his leg grazed someone else. Green eyes looked over and to his surprise, Adrian was sleeping soundly beside him. Why? Why was she here with him? She hated him but yet... He didn't understand but a warm smile traced his lips as he looked down at her. The man was happy... He had missed her so much, and now that she was here with him... Carefully getting out of the bed so he didn't wake her, the werewolf silently left the room and moved down into the kitchen. In all honestly he didn't think that he would have any food, but his maid was a wonderful woman indeed. The fridge and cabinets were full with his favorite things, and Nate promised himself that he would pay her extra for the entire year. Now! He needed to make Adrian some breakfast... even though it was almost lunch now.

Grabbing some eggs and bacon, Nate started to cook that. Once that was finished, he made some toast and put some butter and jelly on it for her. She had to be hungry right? Nate knew he was but he could wait... Adrian would come first. Grabbing a tray and putting the plate on it along with a cup of juice, Nate carried it back to his room, ignoring the sharp stabbing pains in his shoulder. Walking in and setting the tray on his dresser, Nate walked over and gently touched Adrian's arm.
"Hey wake up. I made you something to eat..." Once the woman was up and awake enough, Nate smiled at her and went to grab the tray, placing it in her lap. "I hope this is alright... If you want something else, I'll make it." Smiling at her and cupping her cheek, Nate removed his hand and walked into his bathroom. He needed to get cleaned up while she ate, and then probably have to see the family doctor if the wound wasn't healing right. Getting naked and stepping into his shower, Nate let out a growl as the warm water stung his shoulder. Leaning against the shoulder wall, Nate rested his forehead on his arm. Did Adrian truly hate him?

If she did then he would just have to change her mind was all! Things would turn out for the better, wouldn't they? Letting out an aggravated sigh, Nate started to wash his body and hair. His shoulder was hurting like a total b***h and drying off, Nate secured the towel around his waist. Walking out and into his closet, Nate shut the door and got dressed in a pair of jeans and a loose tee shirt. Walking into the room and running the towel through his hair, the werewolf looked at Adrian.
"I've got to go to the doctor. You want to go with me? You can meet the family doc. He's a wolf too." Sitting on the edge of the bed, Nate kept his back to her. He knew that he had to tell her how he felt, but he didn't know how to say it... He was hoping she would forget about and drop the subject for now. But knowing the woman, Nate highly doubted she would.

"I'm more then a number,
More then a pretty face,
And surely,
More then you can handle."

Waking up hours later, Adrian was still exhausted. She was in pain. her neck had a terrible crick from the way it had lolled on the bed. her hand was still in Nate's. Her hold taking his fingertips. She shook her head, cracking her neck and rolling her shoulders. She looked to Nate's massive body on the bed and shook her head. Idiot. Big a**, scene making lug of an idiot. Things weren't going to go away all of the sudden. Adrian was still pissed. She'd woken from a nightmare about an old master. Her wrist still burned where she bore the scar. All those memories were because of Nate. Nate had done things to make them resurface. The possessiveness and the locking of the room. The small room and his massive frame. She'd hit him. She'd lost herself and beat him up. She couldn't have done much damage, given his shape, but she surely had hit him quite a few times. She frowned at herself. Moving from the room,s he went into the bathroom, looking into the mirror. She was still coated and sticky with blood. Abandoning her charge for as briefly as she could, Adrian ditched her ruined outfit and headed for a shower. Once she was clean, she bit her lip. She didn't have clothes here. They'd been sent to Black's when Nate had left. Grumpily, she grabbed one of his shirts. If he had an issue, she could blame his irrationality at having taken her from her workplace and then bled on her later.

Rolling her eyes, much of the next day passed this way as well. Nate was sleeping. He didn't wake up. She thought it unnatural, but just checked his wound to make sure that there wasn't any seepage, and no infection. She didn't want to change it, in fear that the gushing would start all over again. She simply made sure that he had a blanket over him and a cover to his face. When the second night rolled around, Adrian crawled into Nate's bed. She couldn't sleep on the floor. Nate wasn't awake, so she wasn't really concerned about waking up in a strange situation. She should have gone to her room, but if Nate got up, she wanted to know. There was a strange need to protect Nate that still existed inside her as though he had never gone away. As though they had never had problems. The same feeling that she had had on the beach when Black had talked badly about him. When she had found out what he was. Even knowing he was stronger and more powerful, she was not afraid. She kept her head strong. She could deal with this.

When sleep came, her vigil's had drained her. She didn't feel Nate's body leave the bed when he finally got up. She was too lost in her own sleep. There were no dreams. Just endless darkness. The existence of her own confusion. it was irritating, but nothing she couldn't handle. When she did wake up, it was because someone had touched her. She bolted awake, chasing the end of something she couldn't remember. Her heart was racing. She'd flinched as well. Nate was waking her, explaining that he'd made her something to eat. She was still a little bleary eyed, but she forced herself to calm down. She yawned, wondering if he would get mad that she had tossed her clothes on the floor of his bathroom and never cleaned them. Or that she was wearing one of his shirts. She hadn't eaten, so when Nate placed the tray in front of her, she was surprised. He seemed to be smiling as well. They had unfinished business. It was weighing on her. She was still angry. She more more hungry then angry. He touched her cheek. She flinched back at it slightly, watching him carefully. She didn't expect him to hit her. She didn't expect him to do anything. She smiled gently, but she wasn't sure how reactions would come.

Nate had moved to the bathroom then. It was a mercy. She nibbled at the breakfast that Nate had made for her. She enjoyed the toast and bacon. She even drank the juice heartily. The eggs were something she didn't care for, but Nate probably didn't know that. Maybe, she could play it off that she thought he'd like some too? She did have half a piece of toast left. He could enjoy that and the eggs and it wouldn't look as though she had avoided just the eggs. When Nate came into the room once more, he was running a towel through his hair and wearing jeans. She looked up to see Nate already looking at her. He told her that a trip to the doctor was necessary. She nodded her head. He'd invited her. She might as well go. It would be a start right? Nate sat on the bed, but kept his back to her. She didn't expect it, but she supposed she deserved it. They needed to talk. Now wasn't the time. Besides, she needed to get over the distance. It didn't feel right. she bit her lip, looking down at her breakfast. "You have to be hungry too. I'm pretty full. Do you... want what's left?" She said it sheepishly, realizing that offering Nate her leftovers was probably a shitty deal. She bit her lip gently, remembering that she'd bit it to bloodiness trying to get him onto the bed. She slid the plate towards him carefully on it's tray. Sitting next to him, she thought about what she'd put on. She'd find something. "I'll go.. find something to wear." Adrian left then, for her own room, searching every nook and cranny, until she found a pair of old, frayed jeans, a rather skimpy selection of underwear that she hadn't worn since damn near when she'd first come to live with Nate, and a tank top. Putting them all on quickly, she folded up Nate's shirt, putting it in one of her dresser drawers. Then she moved back to his room, carefully leaning in the doorway, waiting for his next move. She didn't know how to be calm around him. She didn't know when the moment would come that it would fall to pieces again. It scared her.

She-She flinched. Nate quickly took his hand back and looked to the right in order to hide his sad expression. He did this to her. His touch... scared her. Informing her that he was taking a shower, the werewolf quickly did that and once he was finished he got dressed. Taking a seat on the edge of the bed, Nate told her that he had to do to the doctor. The wound would have to be stitched, which would be a total pain, but it would be alright. When Adrian left him alone in order to get dressed, Nate let out a low sigh as he looked at the floor. What in the hell was he going to do? He ruined everything between them, and was it even possible to fix it? Shaking his head, Nate couldn't think about that. There had to be a way to fix it. Looking at the door when Adrian came back, Nate sighed once more and stood up. "Well, lets go then." Smiling at her, Nate walked downstairs to the car, and once they were buckled in Nate started the drive.

The ride was quiet save for the radio. He didn't know what to say... Maybe he should talk about the trip? His escape from this city.
"I went to Europe... In the Pyrenees Mountain chain. I lived as a wolf for the entire time I was gone." It was easier to live and hide from himself in that form. The werewolf told her a little about what the country looked like, what kinds of animals were in the mountains with him. After he finished he looked up and noticed they had reached the office. Pulling in and parking the car, Nate climbed out and led Adrian inside where a bright smiled man waited inside for them. "There he is! How long as i been now? Ten or fifteen years?" Nate only smiled and shook the doctor's hand whil he introduced Adrian to the werewolf. "I've heard much about you Miss Adrian. I'm glad to have finally met you." Nate only narrowed his eyes which made the man smile. Taking them to a room, the doctor asked him to remove his shirt which Nate did with a growl. "Now how did this happen? It wasn't another fight with your brother was it?"

"I was fighting a bear before I left. The damned thing attacked me while my back was turned." The man only nodded his head in understanding while he grabbed some meds to numb the wound, but Nate stopped him. "I'd rather feel it so don't numb it." This surprised the other man but he listened to the man's wishes and continued. Nate only winced and held in any growls that threatened to surface. He had to endure it because this had to be no where near the pain that she felt. "There we go Nate. Twenty-five stitches. Now if you have any problems, feel free to call me, and Adrian it was very nice to meet you." Giving him his thanks, Nate pulled his shirt on, ignoring the stabbing pain, and walked back to the car. Once in the vehicle, Nate looked over at the lovely woman and then back out the window. "Hey, I know you're not happy with me, and if you want to go back with your sister I understand. But I just want you to know that I'm glad you're with me."

Blowing out a sigh, the werewolf blew out and sigh. Where could they go now? Thinking of a place, the man started the car and started the drive out towards the mountains. Nate had nothing else to say and if Adrian wanted to talk, then he would but he doubted she wanted to talk to him. As the forests started to get thicker, Nate smiled and then pulled off to the side of the road, parking the car. Climbing out and rounding to Adrian's side, Nate opened the door for her.
"Come with me? I want to show you something." Walking up a beaten path up a mountain. On the trail, one could see slash marks in trees or rocks. The hike lasted a good forty minutes and once they reached a flat, Nate smiled. A cabin could be seen hiding in the trees, but the view was breath taking. A sparkling lake could be seen, along with the vast forest and country. "I used to live here before I moved to the city. It helped keep me calm until... well that doesn't matter. I just thought you'd like to see it too." Giving her a smile, the werewolf sat down in the soft, lush grass and looked out.

"I'm more then a number,
More then a pretty face,
And surely,
More then you can handle."

Adrian had no sooner appeared in the doorway then Nate was announcing that it was time to leave. There was no time to speak. No time to share how she felt about the awkwardness. Nate smiled, but she had a feeling that there wasn't much depth to it. He walked down to the car with her in silence. She didn't think there could be anything more deafening. She hated it. Hated this awkwardness that laid before them. All this had started with him bringing women home. Then he'd left. Then he'd snagged her from her place of work. Made a complete scene. She just couldn't bring herself to allow him forgiveness yet. She hadn't said her peace on that. This wasn't over. She still needed to let Nate know. She had secrets of her own as well. They needed to talk about what had happened. Why it had happened. She closed her eyes, but opened them again when Nate began talking about his trip. He had gone to Europe. He had been up in the mountains. The Pyrenees. He was a wolf the entire time he was gone. Had he been trying to shirk his humanity? Maybe things couldn't be the same.

Then there was information about the animals, and the scenes Nate had seen. She only grew jealous. He'd left her to go have a glorified vacation without her. Sure, they'd fought, but he'd left for a year and a half without any explanation or contact. She'd forced herself to get over Nate. To try and forget that Nate had existed. That hadn't happened. She'd remembered Nate. Every moment that he'd been gone. When Nate had stopped, they'd been in front of the office. She carefully got out of the car and walked up to the office door. Nate held it open so that she could walk through, and there was a warm reception for Nate as soon as he'd followed Adrian inside. He smiled and shook the hand of the doctor and introduced Adrian to the man. Apparently the doctor had heard much about her. She smiled, nodding, and responding how pleasant it was to meet the family doctor that she had also heard about. Nate seemed to do something to the doctor that amused the man, as he laughed. They were led into the room, and then the rest of the exam took place.

The wound had been caused by a fight Nate had with a bear. He hadn't been bleeding when he'd picked her up, or even when he'd argued. She'd only seen blood after she'd hit him. She paled a bit at this realization. She had been the one to cause the problem with Nate. She had been the one who made the wound bleed. The doctor went to get meds. Nate turned them down. Wanting to feel them. Adrian's eyes widened a bit. "Nate..." She said it, worried about him, but bit her lip. She wasn't in charge of him. Nate could make his own decisions. She closed her eyes, hearing the grunts and growls of pain as the doctor did his work. She winced, closing her eyes, trying to imagine herself elsewhere. She didn't want to hear Nate's pain. When the doctor announced that Nate had received twenty-five stitches, Adrian winced, biting her lip gently. She couldn't bit it to the point of blood. She didn't want to have to be cleaned up. The doctor said that it was very nice to meet her, and Adrian brought as much of a semblance of a smile to her face as she could. Then they were leaving.

Once in the car, Nate was talking to her about allowing her to go back to Lina. Adrian still stared out the window, trying to get her stomach underneath her. Nate was glad she was with him. She closed her eyes, leaning her head against the window. She wanted to tell him he was an idiot. That he was wrong, but that wasn't a way to start out what she needed to tell him. Nate simply drove. Adrian ignored everything. They drove into the woods, and stopped. Nate came around to her door and opened it. He wanted her to come with him. She nodded, consenting, and followed him out through the woods. The air and time was doing her some good. She was feeling at the very least a bit stronger. A bit more resolved. They reached an opening that held a lake, tall grasses, and a cabin. Nate explained that he came here to calm down before he lived in the city. Adrian watched as he plopped down in the grass. She bit her lip and remained sanding. She couldn't stand to sit down and pretend that nothing had happened currently. She was still too disappointed with him. Still too angry.

She walked off, finally losing herself, vomiting in the secrecy of some trees. Everything was too much. Nate's pain. Nate taking the pain. Nate arguing with her. The awkwardness, The stress that came from the situation. She couldn't take it. She wasn't built for it. Wiping her mouth, she knew Nate would have scented her sickness. She knew he would have come after her. He would be right behind her. She turned and faced him. "You're an idiot! A huge ******** idiot!" There were tears now. Something inside of her had broken down. Something she'd been trying to build up since he'd left. She couldn't take it anymore. She'd even been physically sick over it. She growled lightly, leaning against one of the trees behind her, keeping her arm out to keep Nate away. "You scare the s**t out of me. I've never been attached to someone. I've never defended someone against their own damn brother. You walked into my life, took it over, and then you left. That's a bit gaping hole in me Nate. you don't even know half the s**t that I've gone through in life. How could you? You never asked. You helped me find Lina. Funded me with clothes, and food, and housing, all of which i'm grateful for. But you do things that scare me. You're like.. what, four times as strong as I am? I can't run, because you know what I smell like. I can't run, because you're faster. I can't hurt you, because you're stronger then i am. And when you lock me in a room with you, raging....." She paused at this, turning green, and heaving another load form her stomach that couldn't' have possibly held more food.

"Did you even think that I was afraid? Did you even know that I've been raped? That I had every piece of me torn from me and groomed into something i'm not. No. you wouldn't. you never asked. You assumed. I told you I didn't want to be changed. Because I would lose everything that is me. You couldn't possibly understand. You could rape me wright here and now. You could take every piece of me that I've recollected and destroy it. You could kill me too. Don't think I don't know it. You could break me in half. I don't know you. I didn't know about mating season. Up until I met you, i didn't even know werewolves existed. ********. I knew there was s**t. I've had vampires leeching form me until I couldn't stand. I'd had tons of s**t happen to me. Things you couldn't even fathom. You don't know what I think or care about. You obviously didn't know that I gave a s**t about you, or you wouldn't have left. I say I hate you, but it's only your actions. I hate myself for letting you have so much power over me."

Her eyes watered and she knelt, her head spinning, her stomach empty. She began dry heaving, realizing how pathetic her human body made her. Her sister wouldn't have been dry heaving and crying over something this trivial. Adrian was the weak one,s he supposed. Not Nate, for his incapacity of knowledge. She was the one with the problems. The issues. She cursed herself. She was the weak one, and she thumped the ground with her fist. She was afraid of what Nate could do to her. That was true. She'd beaten on him, and yelled. And screamed. But he hadn't hit her. She was waiting for it. Waiting for the kind Nate to go away and the mean, horrible Nate to appear. The one that she could hate. She didn't want to be this attached, She was scared out of her mind with no one to comfort her. She as alone in this. Alone in her fear.

At the doctor's office, why did she sound worried when he denied the drugs? If she hated them, and was angry with him, didn't she want him to be in pain? So much pain that it killed him? No... Adrian wouldn't wish a person's death, but why did she sound worried? Putting a hand to his forehead as he sat there in his thoughts, the werewolf couldn't make sense of what was happening. Should he tell her what he was doing in the mountains, how he lived like a wolf would, and how he got through each day by thinking of her? That he knew that he loved her? Digging his fingertips into his head, Nate tried to make sense of all of those troubling thoughts, but they all disappeared at the sound of someone retching. Picking his head up and looking around, Adrian wasn't to be seen, and the wolf quickly stood up and hurried to find her. She wasn't too far off but she was sick and looked weak. Was she okay? "Adrian, whats wr-" Quickly shutting up when she started calling him an idiot, the man frowned and looked down at his feet. Well he knew that and he thought that they already established that. Taking a step closer to check on her better, Nate stopped when she held her arm out to stop him.

Why?! Why couldn't he get close to her?! Then she said what he feared the most "You scare the s**t out of me." A pained expression took over his worried features, and Nate knew that he wouldn't be able to fix any of this. How could he? Adrian was afraid of him. Of course he was much stronger and faster than she was... It was a given fact that he would be, and he couldn't help that he was. Hearing the part about her not being able to run really made a huge blow. If she wanted to run and be away from him, then he couldn't stop her. He wouldn't if that was what she truly wanted. Jumping at the sound of her throwing up once more. Nate looked at her with worried green eyes.
"Adrian please, calm down..." But the kept going on until she let him know how she felt, what her past was like, and it all made him feel like s**t. He never bothered to ask about her past because he believed it to be a painful one. Why bring up painful memories if you could avoid them? Kill her? He would never kill her! Why would she think such a horrible thing?!

Then she fell to her knees causing Nate to come closer out of fear. She was weak, tired, and hurt. So very hurt and he had caused it all. Bendung down to pick her up, Nate held her close while he walked over to the cabin, opening the door and keeping it open, and he laid the smaller frame on the bed. Opening a window, Nate moved outside to sit right underneath it. She didn't like to be in the same room as him because it scared her right? They could talk this way and it wouldn't bother her?
"Adrian I never asked about your past because I believed it to be painful, and I never wanted you to frown or cry because of those painful memories. However, it seems like I ******** that up royally, huh?" Blowing out a sigh and putting his face in his hands, the werewolf brought up his knee to rest his elbow on. "I should have told Black were I was going so you knew, but I thought that after what I had done... That you would be better off not knowing. That maybe you could break all ties with me. I believed if I was going to act like an out of control animal, then I might as well live as one. And I tried everyday... I hunted like a wolf, slept like one, I fought like one. There was days upon days that I would go hungry because I didn't feel like living... I knew that I had hurt you and I couldn't handle the memory. I ******** hate those urges and I've never had to control them before, I've never had to be in check. I didn't know how!"

Tears started to well in his eyes as the thought and Nate inhaled a deep breath. He couldn't cry! He wouldn't cry or she would really think he was weak and hate him!
"You didn't want to be changed and I understood that! I honestly did because if I hate being this... this monster then you would as well! So I did the next best thing I knew how to do and that was run. If I was far away from you, then you would be safe and I couldn't ravage you. I hate myself because of it!" Inhaling another deep breath, Nate tightly shut his eyes to stop the tears. "You're right. I don't know anything about you and I want to know, but I was afraid to ask. You were stuck in a cage and I believed if you were there, then something terrible must have happened. I didn't want you to talk about something that caused you pain. I'm sorry Adrian. I wish those words could make everything better but they can't! I don't know how to fix any of this, and I'm not sure if you even care." Tears ran down his face and fell to the ground silently. "I would never try to hurt you on purpose Adrian! I swear I wouldn't and all this pain you are feeling right now, I wish that I could take it from you so you wouldn't have to suffer! That's why I didn't take the drugs from the doctor! I wanted to be in pain, I had to be in pain! I deserve it for doing that to you. You're not the one who deserves to hurt.... I'm the one who deserves, so much more." His hand was clenching the dirt, his fingers dug into the earth, as the tears continued to fall.

Everything was over for them wasn't it? He couldn't fix the problems between them... She said she didn't hate him, but she really did didn't she?
"Adrian I love you but I'm so scared. I don't know what to do or how I'm supposed to do things, but I love you so much..." And then it happened. The crying man sitting outside of the window, shifted into the chestnut brown wolf with sad eyes and lowered ears. The intense emotions forced the change and even stuck in his form, tears somehow managed to keep flowing. Laying down, the wolf covered his face up with his paws. He didn't want Adrian to see him like this. Not while he was being this weak.

"I'm more then a number,
More then a pretty face,
And surely,
More then you can handle."

Heaving was no fun.l Especially when nothing was coming out. It meant sick sounds were appearing from her throat. it made her weak and she hated her frail body for not being able to cope with all the stress. She was stupid. So stupid. She shouldn't have let things get to her like they did. But no. She had to care too much. She couldn't even push Nate away when he picked her up. At least she had stopped retching. Her throat burned and her eyes still watered. She didn't even know where he was taking her. Nate opened the door to the cabin and set her inside on the bed carefully. She wanted him to stay close, to imagine all this had never happened, but he pulled away. She wanted to tell him not to go, to cling to him, but she let him go. Allowing him his space. They would need it right? He went to the window, opened it, and then sat outside. Was he stupid? She wanted him close! She didn't want him gone. Or far away. She wanted him to tell her that it would be okay. That they would survive through this. And yet, he was sitting on the other side of a wall.

When Nate began justifying the reasons he never asked her about her past, Adrian smiled a bit. He hadn't wanted her to relive painful memories. Hadn't wanted to see her frown, or cry in their remembrance. he regretted not giving notice on where he went, but he had thought the lack of contact would break them apart. So had she. They were both guilty in that matter. He had wanted to give in and be the animal he was once he left because he had hurt her with his lack of control over his urges. Something that she hadn't understood. Something that hadn't been explained to her. She bit her lip, listening formulating words to respond to him with. She came up empty handed most of the time. Adrian didn't wish for Nate's pain. He had wanted to see what hers had felt like though. She closed her eyes at that. She hadn't wanted him to hurt. She hand't forgotten him. She hadn't wanted to. It was as if his leaving made her cling even tighter to the memories she held of him. She still didn't want to let him go. She wanted him near. This awkward space between them that was filled with words and walls was something she wanted gone.

When Nate started again, his voice sounded heavier. As if there had been a weight added to him. To his voice. He knew she didn't want to be changed. He was respecting her wishes by leaving her. He thought he was a monster, and he didn't want her to be like he was. He still hated himself for leaving, but it was the only thing he had thought to do to protect her from himself. She broke into tears at that. Silent, without the sobs, but the tears were present. Nate hand't wanted to ask, because he hadn't wanted her to relive her memories. He'd figured they'd been bad. He'd never wanted to hurt her. in his own way, the doctors had been a way to cause him pain. Pain that she might have felt. he wanted to hurt with her. She shook her head, sobbing silently. Nate continued, saying he was the one that deserved to hurt. He deserved it all. He deserved more. She bit her lip and shook her head, sitting up and slipping to her feet. She went to the window. Nate was crying. He loved her but was scared. He didn't know what to do. She shook her head, watching him, and then saw what she had not seen. His shift. His body stretching and morphing, making him larger then he was as a human. Fur came as well, until she was looking at a chestnut wolf.

Shaking her head, she hopped out of the window, and walked, to Nate's front. She stared at him head on. His face, buried beneath his paws. She shook her head, peeling his heavy a** paws away carefuly. She knelt in front of him, looking at him sternly. "You're so stupid." SHe was still crying, tears falling from her eyes. "You are so... so stupid..." She pressed her cheek to the space right between his eyes, grabbing hold of the fur that made the ruff around his neck. She shook her face into his fur, taking in the scent she could pick up with her weak human nose. Dirt. Sweat. Something woodsy. Kneeling in the dirt, she inched further back, stroking over his fur, tenderly pulling at it, still taking in his scent. She was human, but she knew about couples. She knew about relationships. She loved Nate. "Can't you see that I love you too? Can't you see that we love each other? And we're stupid fools? We're both just fools..." She said the last in a whisper, nuzzling her teary eyes and face deeper into Nate's fur. She could stay there forever if he wanted. She would be happy. She wouldn't give in. No. This was how it was supposed to be. Both of them. Happy. Together.

His ears twitched at the sounds of footsteps, and Nate's heart skipped a beat at the thought. No! No, no, no, no! Hell no! She couldn't see him like this, but it was too late and the woman soon was sitting in front of him. Nate tried to keep his face covered, but his paws were lifted from his face. She was crying too and that caused a low whine to leave him. She didn't need to cry and the wolf closed his eyes as he listened to her. He knew that she loved him... She had told him so when they were at the beach, but he didn't think that she still did. The thought caused his tail to slowly beat against the ground. He didn't mind that she pulled at his fur. It was comforting and it made the male feel like she wasn't afraid of him after all. Letting out another whine, Nate crawled closer to her. Nuzzling his face against her neck before placing his head in her lap. A paw came to lay across that lap and the wolf let out a content sigh. Maybe she liked him better this way? Of course he enjoyed it, but he only wished he could talk to her.

He would be able to speak to her if they were mated, but Nate didn't know if he could do it... How did one overcome the urge to to change their human partners? Would his brother know? No... He had changed Lina so he had never fought that powerful feeling. Letting out a deep sigh, the wolf closed his eyes as Adrian continued to hold him. He had missed her so much, and now that they were no longer fighting, Nate enjoyed this quiet moment between them. Even if his stitches were all ******** up and needed to be fixed again. At least in this form the fur soaked up all the blood. Opening his eyes and scenting the air, Nate picked his head up and looked towards the sky. Surely it wouldn't? Slowly standing up, ignoring the pain, Nate scented the air once more right before the sky let out a loud rumbling boom. Looking back at the woman, Nate nipped at her pants leg and motioned his head towards the cabin. She would understand that wouldn't she? When she did get up and move inside, Nate looked at the sky once more before following Adrian inside. Shutting the door with his huge furry head, Nate move to sit beside the bed. He supposed he could shift back but... It just felt comfortable.

However he needed to talk with Adrian so with a sigh, Nate started the painful transformation. Once standing on two legs again, the very naked man moved to the trunk and found a pair of jeans, which he quickly slipped on.
"Sorry about that... If a werewolf feels any kind of intense emotion it forces the change." He kept his back to her because not only was he bleeding again but an embarrassed blush covered his face. She had caught him crying and he had poured his heart out to her like some weak little man. Looking back to the trunk, he was amazed to see some bandages there and he quickly grabbed those as well. As he placed the bandage around the wound, Nate wrapped it up as he explained his reasoning for coming inside. "I can smell the rain coming and it's not going to be some small shower." Sure enough the cabin was pelted with heavy rain, and Nate quickly shut the window closed. Luckily he caught it before Adrian was soaked. The man didn't want her sick even though the thought of nursing her back to health was tempting...

Moving to sit in a chair close to the bed, the wolf leaned back against the wall with his eyes closed. He loved to listen to it rain and it was the rain that offered him comfort while he was away.
"When I was gone, the only thing that would get me to sleep was the rain... It was too hard to sleep with all the thoughts I had." The thoughts being centered around her and the pain he had caused before he ran off, but Nate didn't want to think about that right now... He didn't want to bring up anything he didn't have to. He really didn't want to start another fight, but he had to apologize for one thing... "I'm sorry for what I said yesterday... I knew that you weren't with anyone it was just my anger and jealousy talking." Nate would have been able to smell if anyone had... well... He didn't want to think about that right now. Inhaling a deep breath and pushing his hair out of his face, the man let his chair settle on the floor before standing up. His shoulder was throbbing which was his own fault. He knew that he couldn't shift but did it anyways. Not that he could control it. "Black didn't explain anything about werewolves to you, did he?" He really hoped that he hadn't. Seeing as Nate wanted to be the one to tell her, and that he kind of didn't want her to know how animistic they really were. Nate had always wondered why werewolves came into existence if they were only going to continue to act like animals. What was the damn point? "After I left, I couldn't get your face out of my mind... The look of pain, betrayal, and fear... I wish that I never caused you to look that way... Your too pretty for that.." It was that look that caused him to wake up from terrible nightmares, and what kept him away from home.

Shaking his head and leaning against the wall, the werewolf let out a heavy sigh. This wasn't what he was wanting to talk about, but he blamed it on the rain's depressing nature.
"Is there anything you want to talk about? Were you happy at my brother's estate? Did everyone treat you nicely?" Nate was sure that they all did and he was sure that his father took a special interest in her. After all, she was the only woman that he had truly opened up to, and he was sure that Sire Thames caught onto that. The man was truly perceptive. "If you want to go back you can... I'll understand if you wish to continue living there, seeing as you're reunited with your sister." Not that he wanted to let her go but if it was for her happiness, Nate was willing to let her do anything.

"I'm more then a number,
More then a pretty face,
And surely,
More then you can handle."

Dirt. Sweat. Man. Wolf. Nate's smell. All these things, susceptible by her own human nose. If she could smell those simple things, distinctly form each other, Adrian wondered what she smelled like to Nate. Was it something wonderful? Or was it something gross? Or was it pleasant? Or was it something that was just her, as Nate was. Dirt and Sweat never went together, but when Nate's smell came together, it was what she wanted. It was something she liked. She heard a soft whine, and it seemed as though Nate were inching closer. No. He was. He was coming closer, to be closer to her, and it made Adrian soften even more, curling her fingers deeper into Nate's warm fur. Kneeling, she felt Nate press into her lap, knocking her on her a**. She sat, allowing Nate's head to find it's place in her lap as a paw came to rest across the expanse as well. There was a sigh, and Adrian didn't know if it was good or bad. Hopefully, her answer would come sooner then later, and she wouldn't have to wait in this guessing game. She didn't understand wolf. She could only talk to Nate and hoped he listened. He couldn't talk back to her. Not now. Not in this form.

When Nate picked up his head, Adrian released him, curious. He seemed to be listening for something, or sniffing. She couldn't tell. It was then, a loud boom sounded overhead and made her jump completely. She was glad she was already knocked over, otherwise, she would have fallen. Nate nipped at her pants and then made a motion with his head. He was nodding towards the cabin. She watched him, and understood him after a moment. She stood and walked towards the door as she heard Nate get up and pad behind her. He entered wearing his wolf skin, closing the door with a nudge form his head. Adrian watched everything with a curious precision. There was a sigh, and then she watched as the wolf version of Nate grew and distorted in something that looked dreadfully painful, until he turned back into a man who walked on two feet. He was stark naked, and Adrian's face flushed scarlet at the sight of a friend she hadn't seen before. She turned her head while Nate pulled on some pants. It wasn't until she heard him begin his apology that she dared a look in his direction. She hoped he would have finished clothing himself by now. If not, she was getting another free view.

When Nate explained the change was from intense emotion, Adrian simply nodded. She traced his body, noticing he was bleeding again. She stood, and grabbed a towel that was laid upon the bed and dabbed at the blood blooming from his chest wound. Nate quickly joined in and began bandaging himself up. Adrian relented and allowed him to nurse his own wounds. She wasn't sure how much contact would be too much. This path they were walking currently was still much too fragile to be safe. She didn't want to be the one who ended up breaking it. Nate announced next, that a large downpour of rain would be coming. Adrian simply nodded. There wasn't much she could do about that. She couldn't smell the rain,or how much would come form the sky. She only knew what the smell was after it had come to earth and that ground. It was one of the cons of being human. Nate even shut the window as he spoke, and heavy drops began to smack against the glass in the pane.

Nate sat after that and admitted that the rain's lullaby was the only thing that would bring him sleep when he was away from her. She nodded. She sensed there was more, but she would not pry. He had to admit things at his own pace. She stiffened when he apologized for what he had said, about the men. That it was his jealousy talking. It was true. She hadn't been with another soul. Just her niece and nephews, her brother-in-law, her sister, and.. Sire Thames. The man had been a blessing in the strange whirlwind that was her life with Nate's absence. He was the calm that stopped the storm. She was going off on a tangent of memories about Sire Thames when Nate asked if Black had explained anything about werewolves. The real answer was No. Black had only told her that werewolves were dangerous, and that she needed to stay close to the house if she went outside. Even the triplets weren't allowed to go out into the woods. Apparently, werewolves were pack creatures too, and the woods housed Black and Lina's pack. Really, Adrian wasn't surprised. She looked at Nate. "No. He didn't."

She smiled wistfully, watching Nate, who was now standing. He was rambling now. Telling her that he couldn't get her face from his mind. That she was too pretty for the betrayal, fear, and general devastation that he had found on her face before leaving her. She bit her lip at this, even as Nate shook his head and sighed. He was slipping. Losing ground. He didn't know what to say any better then she did. Then he asked if there was something she wanted to talk about. If she was happy with Black and Lina. If everyone was nice. That if she wanted to return she could. She sat gingerly upon the end of the bed, looking at her feet that were dirty from her venture outside without shoes. She looked up. "I don't want to go back, but I don't thin you shouldn't visit. They asked about you, you know. All of them. You're brother included. The triplet are especially curious, given they never met you. You're father is concerned. He's getting older. He said something about being "old and frail" but laughed. He's solid, but I understood his point. He misses you the most maybe. Black is dense. He doesn't understand everything. He sees only protection most times. He doesn't understand the whole picture, but maybe that's because he feels he has to protect everyone." She gave a little shrug. "I think, I liked your father most. But Dimk- I mean, Dimitri, isn't terrible. He's understanding, like his mother. The other two, are wild and crazy as you are. They would probably benefit with guidance from someone more similar to their own personalities then their parents."

Adrian gave a wistful smile. It was true. She didn't know all the details of what being a werewo;f meant. She didn't know all the details involved in being involved with a werewolf. All she knew, was that she loved Nate, and she wanted to see him happy, with his family. She didn't understand the exile. She hadn't had it explain. Lina had hinted it was something to do with the alpha blood in both brothers, but Adrian hadn't truly understood everything. She was getting there, but she knew being with Nate was the choice that she had made. She would follow him where he went. She would go on his adventures. And they would fight tooth and nail, crazy as hell, but they would always find a way back to each other. That, she knew for certain.

It seemed like Adrian really didn't understand him, but Nate would try to help her understand. Wolves were pretty much easy to read. Much like one would read a dog. Perked ears and a wagging tail were happy, while laid back ears and an unmoving tail was bad. She would learn eventually. Getting back inside and shifting back into a man, Nate pulled on some pants seeing as Adrian was scarlet red. Smiling and explaining why he changed, the werewolf walked over to the window to shut it. No need for the place to get soaked. Remembering that he was bleeding, Nate grabbed something to clean it when Adrian came over to help him. Smiling at her, the werewolf took the towel and taped everything up. "I wasn't supposed to shift but it was worth it. I'll go see him tomorrow." Taking a seat and pushing his longer bangs from his face, Nate asked Adrian if his brother had told her anything about wolves. He was relieved to hear that the man hadn't done so, and Nate gave her a smile. "I'm glad. There is no need for you to know about our violent race." Before, Nate had never hated his life as a wolf. However that all change din one night. After he had attacked Adrian, he saw himself a monster. He stood up at that thought. "However... if you want to know then I will tell you." He wouldn't explain unless the woman truly wanted to know.

"Whenever I'm in wolf form, it's much easier to read. We act much like dogs would. A wagging tail is happy and you get the rest." He was rambling and he knew it, which he thought himself to be a huge dork because of it. How was he supposed to act now? Like before? Nate shook his head at that. Before wasn't that great and he often pissed Adrian off, so that meant he was supposed to be different? Then the downpour started and Nate told her it helped but him to sleep. It was obvious that there was more to that tale, and he was glad that Adrian wasn't pushing to hear the rest of it. Before he got stuck on his depressing thoughts, Nate asked Adrian about his time at the estate. Hearing the mattress springs depress, Nate looked over at her when she started to speak. He could hear the fondness in her voice whenever she spoke about his father and one of his nephews. He was glad that she found friends there, but it surprised him that she didn't want to go back there. He crossed his arms across his chest and leaned against the wall. His eyes closed as he continued to listen, and he simply shook his head when she said he should go back. He couldn't go back. He was banned from home, but he wouldn't elaborate on that. Instead he would talk about something else for now. "As much as my brother would love to deny it, he wasn't always calm and collected like he is now. He was quite the little hellion until I was born."

A look of pain flashed on the werewolf's face before he shook it off and smiled lightly at her.
"After our mother died, Black got this great sense of responsibility and felt like he had to protect everyone. Even if it meant shutting down completely... When he met Lina, I was completley surprised by his sudden changes." Which caused him to become outraged that the man he knew his entire life changed, making him hate himself all the more. "And my dad is full of s**t when he says he is fragile. That is one of the toughest wolves you will ever meet. Even Black is afraid of him. He was Alpha for over five hundred years for a reason, but I'm glad to hear that you found comfort speaking to him. He is a good and wise man. Black looks up to him." Sire Thames was the only man who didn't blame him for his wife's death. Everyone else did... He was sure Black didn't but that was another story. Shaking his head and coming over to sit beside the woman, Nate looked over at her once more and smiled. He was glad that she didn't want to go back. That meant they would stay together now, right? "Black can be dense about some things but he has good intentions, and only does what he believes is right. He wants what is only good for the pack. He just wants to protect everyone." Nate just shrugged his shoulders and feel back on the bed with his hands behind his head. "In all honesty, Black had the right to kill me, but instead he banished me instead. He let me live. Which I'm glad he did." He had Adrian now and that meant things would become better for him. For them both. Sitting up and putting his head on her shoulder, Nate grabbed her hand as he inhaled her scent.

"You smell just like I remembered... Clean and sweet. I'm not sure how else to describe it. I don't know what makes you smell so sweet all the time, but I like it. There is no need for you to wear perfume and all that other crap women pour on. You're perfect the way he you are." Now that was lame! A blush covered his face, and the man was glad he was hiding against her shoulder. She couldn't see him right? "You probably think I'm the biggest loser right now. I've done nothing but make a fool of myself in these few short minutes." Nate was never one for talking about his feelings, and telling someone that he loved them was a huge step! The were supposed he should be proud of himself, but he just felt embarrassed by it! And now that he told her he loved her, the urge to hold her closer and kiss her was much stronger. Nate wanted to be close to her, take her as his mate, and start their future together.... but he had to be careful. He wasn't going to lose her again. No, Nate was determined to keep her, and never let her go.

"I'm more then a number,
More then a pretty face,
And surely,
More then you can handle."

It seemed hat only when Adrian had gotten herself up to help Nate out, did he realize he was bleeding. He explain that he hadn't been supposed to shift. He hadn't needed to tell her that. Adrian understood that much. Why would he have been stitched in human form if he was allowed to shift? There couldn't be shifting period. The stitches couldn't stretch and then shrink. It was one form of the other. Now that Nate had town them open, she was more concerned for infection, and why he wasn't healing. Nate flipped topics quickly thought, saying he was glad that she wouldn't have to know about their violent race. Adrian didn't understand that. Human were violent, but that didn't mean all were bad. Werewolves would be the same. She couldn't see how a race could be completely violent. There would have to be some peace within the race. That was how a race survived. They were peaceful to their own kind. He explain, with a hint of something that must have been reluctance, that if she asked and wanted to know about weres, that Nate would explain. She nodded once, in understanding. She thought that was the end of the conversation, but it wasn't.

Nate went on to explain that it was easier to read in his wolf form because his emotional responses would be similar to other dogs. A wagging tail would mean happiness and so on. The last time in her memory that she had been around dogs, it had been her master's beats. They were huge, frightening creatures. She had seen them wag their tails only when her master had set them upon people. She had been forced to watch horror struck. Those dogs had torn more then one person to piece. Maybe that was why she was so afraid of becoming one. So afraid of Nate being on top of her. It was a miracle she had been able to touch him. To touch and ride Black. Her mind went back to her past. Her master setting her in one of his rooms, turning his beasts upon her. They'd pined her, some had nipped. One had bitten her rather severely, but he'd called them off after, not allowing further harm. He'd relished her screamed. The terrible pain causing her to writhe, even as those beasts snarled and growled, ready to attack again, her Master turning to her, threatening to let his beasts come again if she did not obey in the future. She gave a shudder unable to repress it. Maybe one day, she would tell Nate of this terrible Master that had taken her before. Of all the torture she had gone through. The things that made her harsh and untouchable.

Nate asked her about the estate then, and that's when she had given her answer with mercy. Nate turned the tide and spoke of Black, explaining he wasn't always calm and collected. Something flashed across Nate's face and he explained about his mother. That once she had died was when Black calmed out and learned responsibilities. That he had reverted into himself and not let anyone inside until Lina came along. Adrian was glad for this. Glad for a sister that had been sprung and not damaged form masters as Adrian herself had been. She was glad Black had found her. Despite his over protective nature, he was not terrible. Nate went further to explain that Sire Thames was lying about his old age and being fragile, just as she suspected. that he was the toughest werewolf that she had met yet. That Black idolized his father. She was not surprised by any of this. Nate was glad that she had found comfort in talking to the older man. She would have to go back just to tell him he was full of his old age nonsense with this new found information.

Nate came and sat beside her at that point, explaining further that Black could be dense but had good intentions. that he could have killed Nate but did not. She shook her head, and watched Nate explain this. That was unacceptable. Banishing someone wasn't right. She didn't understand this entire story, but Nate rested his head upon her shoulder, and gently, she ran her fingertips across his head. Nate inhaled, and then took an attempt at explaining her scent. She laughed at this, thinking him quite silly. When he made the comment about being a fool, she shook her head. Surely, that was not the case. She just found him quite amusing. Shaking her head, she stroked over his head once more. "You're not a loser Nate." She smiled, leaning herself on him in turn. this was just turning into something of a very long day, and it was only just past morning. She wouldn't have traded any of it for the world.

Hearing her laugh made Nate smile. So she felt better now? That was a good sign. Maybe they weren't as hopeless as he believed them to be. Feeling her delicate fingers dance across his head made him let out a low growl of appreciation, and Nate soon started to nuzzle against her hand. He had missed her touch. Hearing her say that he wasn't a fool made him let out a snort. "Thank you for trying to reassure me, but I honestly believe that I am an idiot. We established this remembered?" Picking his head up to give her a goofy smile, Nate wrapped his arm around her as he leaned her weight against him. Her closeness warmed him and his muscles quivered. He wanted to pull her into his lap, but was afraid of what might happen. Nate didn't know if she was still afraid of him or not, and he didn't want to push his lack in order to find out. Instead he rested her head on hers and smiled. This is what he missed the most. "I wasn't lying when I tried to explain your scent... I know my words were lacking greatly, but I've missed your scent. I missed you in general." His hold tightened a little on her as the rain continued to fall, and Nate opened his eyes to look out the window. "While I was gone, I dreamed of you every night. There was a moment that I wasn't thinking about you, and it finally got to the point where I could no longer stay away."

Of course when he got here, things didn't go exactly as he planned, but things were okay now. He hoped they were anyways.
"I didn't know how you would react to me when I got here, and I was afraid that you would send me away. Even though I hoped that you found someone that you made you happy, I was secretly hoping that you'd only want me." Testing his luck just a little bit, Nate placed his lips against her head. "Adrian is it wrong of me to want you as badly as I do? Are you sure that you want to love me? As you can tell, I come with a lot of flaws." Looking down at her, the werewolf pushed a lock of dark hair from her face. She was so beautiful and she deserved so much better than him, but Nate didn't want anyone else to have her. He wanted to keep her all to himself and not share! He was never a good sharer to begin with, but if Adrian wanted to go back and see her sister and the kids he would allow that. It wasn't like there was any guys there to hit on her, and the pack stayed hidden in the woods. Nate couldn't help but be overprotective and jealous. It was his nature. "It's to bad that the weather is so crappy right now. I wanted to take you down to the lake, but I guess that can wait for right now. I don't think this rain will let up anytime soon." The wolf went on to tell her about the mountains and explained the placed that he had lived. His den was hidden in the mountains and had a beautiful view. He told Adrian that he would take her there one day if she wished it.

Finally the man let out yawn and felt tired. The rain and all the excitement from earlier made him incredibly sleepy.
"I don't know about you, but I'm suddenly very tired. Take a nap with me?" Laying down and moving to lay on his side, he pulled Adrian down with him and snuggled close to her. His grip around her waist was loose so if she felt uncomfortable she could move away. "I'm so happy that I'm with you. I can sleep peacefully now." Closing his eyes and exhaling, Nate soon fell asleep and for once in a long time, his dreams were peaceful. No visions of Adrian's horrified expression filled his thoughts. After sleeping for over an hour or so, the werewolf woke up slowly. The rain had finally stopped but the hike back down the mountain wouldn't be very safe. Looking over at Adrian, Nate touched her arm and smiled at her. "Hey the rain stopped. We can go home if you want to." Getting up from the bed, the man stretched his sleepy limbs and checked his wound. It hadn't bled through so that was a good sign. Of course it would need to be stitched up again, but that could wait until tomorrow. "If we do go back home, I'll have to shift and you'll have to ride on my back. The path is muddy and slick, and I don't want you falling and hurting yourself. So what do you say? If we stay here just know that there isn't any food, and I would uh- have to go hunting to find something. I'm sure you don't want to see my gut and clean dinner. You might never eat again if you witnessed it." An embarrassed expression was on his face and he looked down at the floor.

Nate was okay with it. He had ate raw things for a year and a half. The werewolf wasn't joking when he said that he lived like a wolf during the time he was gone. Nate lived, breathed, hunted, and ate like his animal counter part. Adrian didn't need to know that however, and as far as the woman knew, he ate everything cooked. She could think that and Nate would never correct her.
"When we get back to the apartment, I'll fix your door. I'm sorry about what I did before, and whatever you want I will buy. So if you want anything please tell me. I just want to make you happy."

"I'm more then a number,
More then a pretty face,
And surely,
More then you can handle."

Playing with Nate's hair had become something of an absent minded action the longer he kept his head in Adrian's reach. there was a gentle growl form Nate, and she could sense is satisfaction. She smirked back at him, playing furtively with the long er hair around his face. He started calling himself an idiot once more and she shook her head, giving him a flick to the forehead. "You are not." He moved then, pulling himself up and leaning against her. She learned against him in return, knowing from experience how hard it would be to move him if he wanted to be on top of her. Instead, he put his head on top of hers and spoke of her scent. He was trying to undo the damage his words had caused when initially tried to describe it, but she just shook her head. He'd only get more tongue tied. When he admitted that he'd missed her in general, she smiled warmly at him, and moved closer to him. His hold tightened, so sh assumed it was okay that she had moved closer. He went on to tell her that every night he was gone, he had dreamed about her, and that was what had forced him to come back. He hadn't forgotten about her. She was too proud at the moment to admit that she too, had not forgotten him, but maybe at one point in time down the road, she would do so.

Nate then changed the topic to not knowing how she was going to react when he came back. obviously, he had been terrible wrong for things to go as badly as they had. Nate had hoped that she had not moved on, and had remained in love with him. He kissed her forehead softly, asking a question she thought to be rhetorical. Was it bad that he loved her as much as he did? No. She loved him probably just as much. She just wasn't sure how to tell him. Then he went on to say that he had plenty of flaws. That was why she shouldn't love him. She rolled her eyes. "You're stupid Nate. Really. Sometimes, you say the stupidest thing you can. And you don't even realize how stupid it is. No one is perfect. Flaws are made like pieces. My piece fits with yours because our flaws work together. You're stupid if you think you're not supposed to have some." She smirked at him, listening to him. He was complaining about the weather. Then he was talking about the beautiful places that he had been, and promising to take her there if she ever wanted to go. She smiled warmly at this offer, but listening to Nate talk was making her relax. Which was, in turn, making her tired. When Nate offered her to take a nap with him, she nodded, and curled towards him. his arm was wrapped around her waist, keeping her close. She closed her eyes, gently and fell into sleep. It was not long before she was tormented for the first time with the past.

The hallway was long and dark, and she knew exactly where she was headed. She wasn't in control of herself. She was forced down this dark, dank hallway. She was cringing on the inside, trying to escape the hold that was upon her. She knew this kind of witchery belonged to one man. The man who had caused her so many fears and disruption in her life. She was brought to the last room on the right, and the door opened. This room, was one she'd been inside once as well. She could smell the dank scent of mold and rot. She wanted to scream out, for there was also the scent of wet dog, slobber, and left over food. She knew what would be happening. Dogs would be released. There were several dogs kept as pets, but there was only one kind. And they knew the same commands. She was forced to sit in a chair in the middle of the wide room. She could see the kennels, ready to open and release the hunters to their prey. She tried to move. Tried to free herself, but to no avail. She was frozen, unable to move. Then her master was there, smiling sweetly at her.

He advanced upon her carefully. It was sick. Sadistic. He stroked her cheek, and ordered a few stray strands of hair away from her face, as if sculpting a masterpiece. He smoothed out the white dress she wore. It was a child's dress, with frills and lace. Something sick to make everything worse. She tried to cry out but choked on the sound. And her master whispered.
"Sh, ma petit. Your part comes son, little doll." He smoother her over once more, looking her straight in the face, and then went to the kennels opening the them to release the dogs. They exited their cages, but lingered in the frame of the open door. They did not move without their master's consent. Once he had opened seven doors and seven dogs sat at his disposal, he smiled, steeped his fingers, and shouted the command to eat. The dogs charged forward and began biting. Adrian screamed, now able to make sound, but not to bat off the dogs. She felt the excruciating pain, and felt her master tug at the hem of her mind, telling her that she did not in fact feel pain at all. that it was her imagination. She believed this in moments, and fought against the hold, but knew she was lost. Yet she continued screaming. She knew it was wrong. Her master called over her screaming. "Keep screaming my little doll. No one can hear you. no one can save you. Devour my pets. Devour her!"

Adrian screamed, writhing. She couldn't move, and the dog's bites hurt. She smelled the stench of blood, but blood was running into her vision now. Dogs stood over her. They were quickly turning into wolves. The one she had seen in the woods. They were blurring between her master's dogs and wolves. She shrieked louder, more desperately. She was sure that tears were mixed with the blood that ran down her face. She screamed, screaming Nate's name. Screaming for Black, for Lina. Even Sire Thames. But mostly Nate. Nate. Nate. Nate. Nate. Nate.

It wasn't apparent that Adrian had been screaming for Nate, but it was coming through. She wasn't aware that all of her screams had come through. her desperation as she tossed gently back and forth, much like someone having a seizure. there was no real thrashing. She was locked in the same position, screaming for release, as she couldn't bring herself to wake and release her body from the hold of sleep. When Nate touched her, she jolted awake, and swung, the first action she could preform. It landed Nate square int eh jaw. She was still crying hysterically. She threw back covers and jumped form the bed making sure her body was still intact. She swatted away invisible dogs that were still trying to eat her. She didn't hear anything Nate said. She collapsed to her knees, wrapping arms around herself, making sure she was safe. She was still crying hysterically, trying to contain herself, without the ability to actually contain her pain. She had felt everything. She still hurt. It was agony, even though she knew it wasn't real. She was still choking on sobs and shaking. She didn't want to go back there. She was confused on what was real and what was not. She was with Nate, but she still felt the pain, and what her master had done. Was he coming back for her? She was so afraid. "Can't come back. Can't come back. no... No No no no no. Can't come back. Can't go back. no more hurting. No more eating. My body. mine. No more no more no more no more." She was lost to herself.

Adrian had moved in her sleep quite a bit, but Nate considered that it might be normal for her. It had been awhile since they had last seen each other, and he couldn't recall that they had ever shared a bed with one another. When he really thought about it, Nate honestly believed that they hadn't. What Nate did know, however, was the fact that being hit in the face was not fun. A sound punch landed on his cheek, and the werewolf just stood there with a blank expression. What the hell was that about?! Not that it hurt him but it confused him. Why in the hell did he deserve that?! He was being on his very best behavior. Taking a step closer, Nate was about to ask her why but he stopped when she started talking. What was she dreaming?! "Adrian! Adrian, wake up and look at me!" Walking to the very upset woman, Nate grabbed her face with both hands, forcing her to look in his eyes. The werewolf didn't know what brought on this attack, but he was going to bring an end to it. She had been screaming for him, and the man wondered how many times she had done this. Had she called out in her dreams for him before? His eyes widened at that thought. "Adrian, you got to calm down. It's okay. You're safe and I won't let anything hurt you." The werewolf looked down at the woman, and Nate placed a kiss to her forehead.

He didn't know why Adrian had such a bad dream, but Nate wasn't going to press for an answer either. Picking the woman up, Nate walked back to the bed and cradled her in his arms. There he started to rock Adrian gently, murmuring sweet words against her head.
"You have never to be afraid of, sweeting.... I'll protect you and I promise nothing can harm you." Opening his eyes as he placed his cheek on the dark brown head, Nate started to think about her screaming and constant tossing and turning. When Adrian had finally calmed down, Nate looked down at her with a concerned expression. His eyes were wide with worry as his hand cupped her cheek. "Hey, you okay? You had me worried." His thumb moved across her smooth cheek, as his eyes searched her face. Nate had a feeling that it just wasn't any normal dream... That it was a memory resurfaced. "I remember waking myself up from screaming your name. It echoed through my mind as a pained howl escaped me. It was those nights I wished that I was dead because I could only remember the pained that I had caused you." Nate placed a kiss to her forehead and held her closed to him.

This wasn't a dream. This was actually real and Adrian was with him. He couldn't get enough of being with her, touching her, talking to her. It made him feel content.
"I'm not going to make you talk about it because it causes you great pain, but if someone in your past has hurt you, then I will hunt them down and kill them. Whoever caused you harm deserves to die." Nate was being serious. He would kill whoever tortured her dreams like this, and it would be a slow and painful death. Sitting quietly with her, the werewolf allowed her to gather her thoughts. He wasn't sure what he should talk about, so he decided to share some werewolf facts with her. "When werewolves find their mates, they mate for life. They will do anything for their mater, even lay their life down. Even after their mates die, it is very rare for us to move on. After my mother died, my dad didn't have it in him to move on. So for over tree hundred years, my dad has just taken lovers but never gotten serious." Giving her an embarrassed smile, Nate placed another soothing kiss to her forehead. "I guess what I'm trying to say is, if it's not you... Then I can't be happy. My life has to have you in it." The urge to kiss her was strong, but Nate knew that he wouldn't be able to stop there. If he kissed her, he would try to go further and push her into something she didn't want. Sex was probably the last thing Adrian was thinking of right now, even though it was probably close to the top of his list.

Nate had been without sex for over a year and a half now!! The temptation to find a village close by was great, but he remembered Adrian and stayed up in the mountains. Right now he was pushing his self control. He wanted her and he couldn't deny that fact, hell, he wouldn't deny that. Closing his eyes and blowing out a sigh, the man rested his cheek on her head once more.
"We need to get back home, but I'll have to change and you ride on my back down. The trail is too slippery to walk and I'm afraid you'll get hurt. I'd let us stay here if we had food here, but we don't so we have to go back home." It hadn't been his intention to stay this long at his little seclusion, but the rain wasn't going to let them leave. Nate wasn't going to allow Adrian to be sick because of it either. Sitting her on the bed and moving to crouch down in front of her, Nate placed a hand on her cheek. Smiling once more at her, the wolf searched her eyes for anymore fear. "You ready to go home? I'll be outside waiting." Pulling his hand away, Nate went outside and shifted. He would wait until she was ready, and once she climbed on he would get her home, and in a nice hot bath. Adrian needed to relax after an episode like that. It worried him but Nate was sure that he would cause her dreams to get better! He was determined to do so.
