"Keep telling yourself that." He knew it wasn't true. If all it took was tearing out a star seed who was to say there wasn't someone strong enough out there that could do it whether they wanted to or not. It kept him on his toes at least.

"Oh i'm sure it's free. It just knows we've got advantage right now." They needed light and unless they jumped down to where it was they weren't getting it. "It's going to be cramped." He grinned at her before hopping up on the walkway's railing before dropping down onto the boxes below.

"I will." She snorted softly as she watched him for a moment before dropping down after him, willing to leave that part of the conversation behind them. It wasn't something that she wanted to talk about now anyways; maybe later, maybe if she trusted him more... But not yet.

"Just so we're clear..." Corvus murmured softly as she stepped up beside Arachne. "It's not fighting the youma that I have a problem with... It's doing so without getting myself brained just to be able to use my magic that's the issue."

"Still say that's a really shitty pow...ack." He ducked as a long spiked tail swung through the air just over his head. Youma never let you finish a conversation. So rude of them too. "Right right. Conversations later."

He smirked and held his hands up. "Arachne's Venom ..." He let the power build and used the green glow to add a bit more light. After a moment he tossed the ball toward where the tail should have come from and it burst against a scaly hide.

"Yep ... big"

"It has its uses..." She muttered, nose wrinkling as she dodged in the direction opposite him. It had given her a reason to learn to rely on something other than her magic to do battle; intelligence and her own physical strength versus just what she could do with her sphere... Corvus hadn't learned enough, though, and that's what she was doing here, now.

"You're in charge here... How do we go about taking this thing out?" Her brow quirked, eyes gleaming in the darkness as they watched the space where the tail had swung from, not really looking forward to getting hit with something that, all in all, looked like it could have been attached to a dinosaur.

"Have to draw it out." At least his attack had done something and the creature would probably be hurting. They were usually easier to deal with once they'd been hurt. Even the smarter ones got dumb just trying to attack whoever hurt' them. "By the way ... did that look like a dinosaur to you? cause i'm thinking the plastic stegosaurus that all day cares have."

He grinned as he looked over at her before hopping up onto a stack of crates. "At least there's plenty in here to use as weapons." He reached down and pulled a wooden baseball bat out of the crate he was standing on.

"At least it's not a giant chicken." The Senshi of Vengeance murmured, letting that linger to be pondered on for a moment or two before bounding out to do one of the things that she did best; play decoy. On the down side, she was likely to get hit by the thing... On the up? If it hit her, something that she was going to try desperately enough to avoid given the look of its tail, she would be able to use her power against it... Either way it might give Arachne a chance to discern something else about their foe beyond its appearance.

"C'mooooon ugly... Come and get me."

He hefted the bat and waited while Corvus went about trying to attract the youma. Thankfully it worked and with a low screech the thing lumbered out from it's hiding space. IT really did look like a dinosaur and thankfully was as slow as one. The heavy scaly plating was going to make things a b***h though.

He watched as the youma followed after her, tail crashing against boxes in it's way, and tried to find a weakness. The only one he could see was it's head.

"Head ... it's not covered in plates." That meant getting in range of that tail though

"Of course." Her eyes narrowed as she sprang back away from the beast's next lumbering lunge. "It always comes down to a game of heads or tails..." Such a horrible joke; one she deserved to take some kind of hit for. It was inevitable, though. Something had to suffer and this time around it seemed like it would be her sense of humor.

Better it than her.

Corvus weighed her options for a moment, giving the youma a calculating glance or two before springing into action again. She landed on the beast's back, waiting a moment for her weight to register to the creature before sliding down its spine just as it tried to shake her. As a distraction it was a start and it seemed to be working... Up until she got to the tail, which seemed to move just a bit faster than the beast itself did.

In attempting to dismount before she reached the spikes at the end, the creature shook her free and she took flight. Landing was going to hurt.

He watched Corvus jump onto the youma's back and slide toward it's tail. That wasn't a bad idea but it would probably work better with one going for the tail and the other going for the head.

He had enough time to register that before the creature shook the other senshi off. Cursing slightly he hopped across piles of crates until he could catch her. It still hurt, probably him more than her, but he managed to thunk them both against the wall atop a pile of boxes.

"ugly's got a strong tail." He grinned, hands firmly on her hips.

He broke enough of her fall to make her snarl when she should have been thanking him; a rather ugly sound coming from such a pretty girl. She had just enough time to contemplate slugging him for where his hands were before the beast, a bit confused and likely more than a little irritated, came lumbering towards them.

Corvus swatted Arachne away from her instead, nose wrinkling as she eyed the youma once more. "You were supposed to hit it. Having a decoy doesn't work if you're just going to try to play knight to my damsel... I'm not in distress."

"You wanted me to help you learn to take these things down. If you want my help you're going to have to learn to work with me and not just in the same place." He shoo himself out and looked for where he'd dropped the bat. It was probably a lost cause now but it would have been a good idea.

"Plus your idea would have worked better with one of us going for the tail and the other going for the head. Distraction so it can't wack whoevers at it's head with that tail."

He watched the youma as it got itself turned fully around. "So ... try it again with me this time."
PostPosted: Mon Oct 24, 2011 7:17 pm

It was clear enough that Corvus was used to calling the shots herself... Or at least putting care for others over watching her own a**. If she was getting hurt then it meant that others weren't, never mind that it wasn't exactly the best way to go about things. It was what she was used to; what had always just worked.

Clearly it wasn't working well enough. Not if it kept landing her in bad situations.

"Alright. With you. Heads or tails, Arachne?"

"If your powers wont work without you getting hit then i should take the head. I can at least hit it on my own terms. This isn't the sort of youma you should be letting just hit you."

Maybe it worked with some things but something with that many pointy spikes wasn't going to do. Not in his company.

"You keep it's tail down and ill try to blast it's head."
PostPosted: Mon Oct 24, 2011 7:35 pm

Corvus resisted the urge to roll her eyes or, at the very least, let Arachne know that she knew this wasn't the sort of youma that she wanted to let just hit her. It wasn't that easy, though, even if he did have a point.

"So you don't want me to get hurt... But you want me to keep its tail down?" There had to be sense in that somewhere, but she wasn't seeing it at the moment. She couldn't figure out just how she was going to manage to do both of those things... And then an idea hit her and she was bounding up the side of a stack of crates, kicking hard at the one just beneath the top to send them tumbling down towards the monster's tail.

"There's always a way to do things." He grinned. He had more been thinking of grabbing onto one of the spikes, they were big enough, but toppling boxes seemed to work just as well.

The youma snarled again and tried to lumber around but it was caught enough between stacks of crates and boxes that it couldn't really get turned much. He jumped off the stack he was on and landed between it's shoulders. Wobbling slightly he tried to keep his balance while the youma continued to try to get itself free.

"Arachne's Venom!" He let the green orb form, trying not to fall off the creature, before letting the orb drop onto the back of the youma's head. It earned him a loud screech as the thing succeded in shaking him off finally as it writhed in pain.
