Not even as a child, had such unreserved laughter spilled from Prosper's lips. It was hearty and deep; a rumbling, contagious sort of sound, and made little sense. His whole life was nothing like what it had been yesterday. There were castles and roads and monsters and Prospers in outer space.
He had a roommate, and a horrible new nickname.
Everybody kept insisting that this was real, as though he wouldn't have preferred to be dreaming.
And there was no way home.
By all rights, Prosper should have been weeping himself to sleep. Instead, he was smiling, and even a little bit grateful for Ricky's company.
"I'd like that," he nodded, and stretched out companionably on his cot, "A jog in the morning would be… wonderfully normal." Prosper paused, and then held out the pillow that he'd stolen, "Here, you can use this tonight if you like."
Prosper was ordinarily greedy and not very good at sharing. But If he was going to suffer, he didn't want to do it alone.
Congratulations, Ricky.
"I'll be wanting it back tomorrow."

"Naw, man," Ricky shook his head. "Keep yer pillow, Big P. Yer the one that took it. If I can sleep in the back of a pick up truck in the rain, I reckon I can handle a night on a cot without any pillows." His accent for the word pillow was thicker than ever.
"I'll wake you in the morn' when the sun come up and we can go on a run," he suggested as he got comfortable in his bed, ready to doze off to sleep. The conversation had relaxed him a bit, alleviated his worries about being stuck in space. Going for a run in the morning would certainly normalize the situation.
"Night, Big P," he said as he shut his eyes.
