Cloud watched Cinder eat, waiting herself for the others to be done. "Prelude. I need you for something." She smiled at him to let him know it was nothing serious, or to be worried about. She walked toward the entrance of the cave and pulled out a pillow. It was still big and a light blue. It was not as big as Prelude's either.
She grinned. "Do you think she will like it?" She snuggled into her mate and nipped at him lightly. She was excited to give Cinder the pillow. A little give just to say. 'I love you.' Sure she had just found the kit but she already loved her, like she was her kit.

Cinder watched as Prelude and Cloud left, sitting on her bum. What was she doing? Wouldn't Maha be disappointed and Elfi? Though... she wasn't like them. They liked being kids forever until they died. Cinder.... Cinder found it lonely. And now these two were caring for her and treating her like a family-member....
What was she going to do when they noticed she wasn't getting bigger?
When Cloud called him over he followed, flipping his tail. She brought him to the pillow and he smiled, the colors reminded him of Cinder.
"Absolutely." He said, curling a wing around Cloud lovingly. Though, he had to ask.
"Are we going to take Cinder in, forever?" He asked quietly. "I can't just leave her.... We are both children that were abandoned by our birth parents... I can't just let her be outside in the wild."

She was happy, he liked the pillow as well. As he wrapped a wing around her she pressed into him. "I want to keep her." She smiled. "Though I do admit... if her parents ever came back... I will be sad to watch her go." She smiled weekly at him.
"Lets get back to her, I'm sure she is waiting." Cloud put the pillow on her back and hid it with her wings. When she got back to Cinder she smiled at her. "Are you all done?"

Her ears perked when Cloud returned, running up to her and looking up at the vixen, tail wagging. She poked her paw with her nose, curling her tail around her small frame. When Prelude arrived she blinked quietly at him, considered running over, and just mewed at him.
Her lack of much speech worried Prelude. Was she just a silent kit that preferred to only talk when she had to? Or was she mostly mute? She had spoke several times, though rarely. At her blink he went over and licked her cheek then moving his pillow to the side so Cinder could be beside him. He wanted her to feel loved and happy.

"Cinder I have something for you." Cloud smiled at the kit. "Close your eyes and on three open them" She looked over at Prelude and winked. She waited for the kit to close her eye then laid down the light blue pillow. Her tail wagged and waited for three. She was hoping the kit would love the pillow.

At the request Cinder tilted her head, blinking. Though, when Prelude covered her eyes she wagged her tail, moved his paws aside to cover them herself, and counted. When she opened her eyes she let out a squeak.
It was so pretty! And soft! And....hers?! Eagerly she went over and plopped down on it, chewing on a corner. She had never really out-grown the teething stage, she loved to chew. Her tail wagged as she looked up at Cloud, and then her heart jumped.
She was taking advantage of these people.....
He smiled when the kit squeaked and ran to the pillow, sliding up beside Cloud to lick her cheek. "You'd be an amazing mother, Cloud." He said. Ugh, all these things made him just want to ask her. She was perfect. A perfect friend, mate, and mother. He wanted to ask if she would have his children, and yet he held his tongue.
They had just gotten together, he needed to calm down. His eyes flicked to Cinder, smiling when she looked up. She got up and went up to the two, beckoning for Prelude to lower himself. He did, allowing her to climb up onto his back. From there she licked Cloud's cheek and then Prelude's, smiling.

She smiled as Cinder squeaked. "I bet that means you like it." She licked Cinder's cheek back, then Prelude's. "Y-you really thing so?" She grinned and blushed as red as she could get. She knew he wanted kits of his own... Maybe this was a hint. "Prelude..." She had a wide smile on her face, should she say something? Nah... she would wait until Prelude said something... After all.. they did just mate. She giggled. "...You should eat."

Oh, yea, there was food. Nuzzling into Prelude she watched the vixen, and than the male. What would they think? When should she tell them? Should she at all? Of course! But this was...nice...
"I suppose I should!" He chirped back, nudging her side as he set Cinder down by the food. Glancing over at Cloud he tilted his head. "Are you eating, Strawberry?" He asked, making sure Cinder was eating before offering a hunk of meat to Cloud.

She couldn't help but to laugh. "Of course I am! I wanted to make sure my family ate first." She took the hunk of meat and ate too. Family... That's exactly what they were. Even little Cinder was already considered family to her. She was head of tail for the adorable girl. She looked at up at the two briefly while eating, very happy with what she already had.

When she was finished she sat to the side, then crawled to her pillow. As Prelude finished and sat up she padded over, pawing at him to lower his head. When he did she whipped his muzzle free from some flicks of meat and returned to her pillow, watching the two interact. Wait.
WAIT.
Cloud had said family! Ears perking, her eyes widened, her childish voice slipping for a second. "We are family?"
Her sudden voice had startled Prelude, who had gone over to push his pillow beside Cinder's. Her slip didn't register with him, he barely noticed. He glanced at Cloud, then at her.
"If you'd have us. Until your mother and father came back, at least." He had a feeling they wouldn't...

Cloud nodded as Prelude spoke. "I really hope you want to stay with us." She smiled at the kit. "I know we aren't your real parents but we would love it if you thought of as as close to one." She laid down by Cinder's and Prelude's pillow. "And if you didn't want to... we could look more for your actual parents." Her smile grew weak as she said tat last sentence.

There was silence for a second. Her eyes flicked to the ground, ears going back as she touched her hat to make sure it was on. How could she tell them, of all people, that they did not need to worry about her or her finding her parents?
However, the way Prelude and Cloud looked at her hopefully.... this wasn't just about her. They wanted her to stay, she knew it. And she wanted them to be happy. Looking back, she nodded softly, looking at Prelude, then Cloud.
"My parents... you won't find them." She didn't elaborate. "But I'll... I'll stay if you want. I like it with you two"
She had a pretty good vocabulary for a kit that seemed fairly young. Maybe she was just an older kit that was a runt? Was that why she was tossed aside?! His wings fluttered briefly, annoyance rushing through him. He swept his wing around her and licked the top of her head, tail curling around her and Cloud.
"Then you get to stay with us, Cinder."

She frowned when Cinder said they wouldn't find them. She wanted to ask why, but she didn't want to ask yet. She would talk to Prelude later. "Mhm. If you ever need anything, you can let us know. We want you to be happy and comfortable here." She put a smile on her face, she was still concerned about the parent issue.

Nodding, Cinder decided that now was the best time to hide. She slipped into Cloud's wings this time, peeking out at Prelude, who was glancing at her. He seemed worried slightly, though nodded, getting up.
"It seems late." He approached the area that would flip the top open to see the sky, pulling the rope and clicking his tongue. Yes, it was dark outside. He approached Cinder, nudging her cheek.
"Perhaps its time you go to sleep?"

Cloud nodded in agreement. She was rather tired herself. "Time for little ones to sleep." She carefully picked up Cinder by her scruff and placed her onto the pillow. "Sleep well and sweet dreams. We will both be here in the morning. I promise." She smiled and licked the kit on the top of her head. She looked over at Prelude and hope that he picked up on her body language. She curled around Cinder. When she fell asleep she would be able to talk to Prelude with out Cinder worrying.
