Hmm. I would have to say because it's not stereotypically girly. It's not Bratz where all they do is talk in an effing valley girl accent and shop for shoes all day. And it's not like older MLP where it was all about glitter and love and rainbow s**t.
It's more like a typical bugs bunny/hanna barbara-like cartoon. There's only one typical girly girl character. True, the other characters are a bit stereotypical as well, but they're good characters. The plots are a bit simplified, with a moral lesson at the end of each episode, but still enjoyable to watch.

and I would give it a chance, but
1. I ain't what I used to be, I cant wake up at 6 to watch it
2. I rather see it from the start so I know what the plot is
There IS NO PLOT. In fact it sometimes feels like the episodes are out of order.
Plus, Youtube has plenty of hi-def (720p and even 1080p) copies of the series.
BeanyOne has HD episodes on his account.
