She turned red, very red, around the collarbone again. "Sort of," she said, tangling her fingers together. Pretty alright for a space alien? Pretty complimentary, she thought! She offered Ricky a smile, and patted his knee; it was the nearest part of him that she could reach. Well, she didn't feel right patting his feet anyway! So, there was that also. "Not really. I seem to mess up more often than not." It was true; she'd been protecting them too much for a Captain. She would have to correct that, and had already taken steps towards it.
"I know. I miss being at home, too… And no, we still don't know what's blocking us. Do you want to try again?" She offered Ricky a hand, her expression serious. The cell phone that focused her energy for the travel popped into her hand; if he said yes, she would give it a go.

"Aw-haw! Yer blushin'!" Ricky called her out. As someone without humility, he didn't quite understand the concept as it applied to others so well. "Yer turnin' redder than a ripe tomater! That's cute."
He grabbed her hand with a nod and rose from his seat on the steps enthusiastically. "If ya think it would work, then hell yeah! Maybe ya'll just need to try takin' us back one by one instead of in groups like ya'll were tryna do before."

His declaration that she was 'cute' only made her blush harder. Even Grayson was rarely so effusive with his compliments towards her good looks--of course, she had yet to be convinced that Grayson really wasn't just humoring her. She hoped he wasn't.
"Okay," she said, squeezing Ricky's hand a little--not enough to hurt, nowhere near enough to hurt--and then closing her eyes. "Three--two--one."
Virgo vanished, a rush of cold air taking her place. Ricky did not go with her. She returned a few moments later, shaking her head slowly. "It didn't work. But I guess you could tell, huh?"

As Virgo counted down from three, Ricky closed his eyes tight, hoping to open them up at the end of the countdown and find himself back at home in Destiny City. But instead at the end of the countdown, all he felt was the faint squeeze on his hand disappear - his hand suddenly was holding on to nothing.
"It work?" he asked, eyes still shut tight. He didn't want to open them, he didn't want to peek. That would be cheating, wouldn't it? Then all the magic would go away and he'd be guaranteed to not be back at home. With his eyes shut tight, he could at least just pretend. But no, Ricky was a man of impulse, and he peeked.
One eye slowly opened to see no girl standing beside him and the surroundings were nothing like Destiny City. He hadn't moved. Nothing happened.
"That dog won't hunt, huh," he muttered to himself, now alone. He was about to go look for where Virgo may have disappeared to until - poof. And there she was.
And it freaked the s**t out of Ricky.
"JESUS CHRIST! BACK AWAY FROM ME DEMON!," he shouted in reactive impulse as the Zodiac soldier appeared before him. He stumbled back, tripping his ankles on the steps and fell onto his back on the stairs. It was only then that he was able to assure himself that the woman was just Virgo, and no threat to him. "Sorry, ya scared me. I still ain't used to yer devil-space magics."

She had spared a moment to hug her fathers, but other than that her disappearance and reappearance were almost simultaneous. She was not prepared for Ricky to freak out and stagger away, so her eyes went wider than they should have been able to. "I'm not a demon," she said, hurt, "And they're not devil magics! It's real magic, senshi magic."
Did she need to have a lesson for all these people? Probably.
"Anyway, I thought you might like to know there's a new shipment of beer in from Earth. Somebody brought a twenty-four pack and you ought to hurry if you want any." Ricky liked beer, didn't he? He'd been happy enough to drink Gemini's senshi-proof Space Beer, anyway, that she remembered.

"Twenty four pack? Where?" he said, excitement shot out of his face like fireworks. His eyes grew wider than his stupid grin as his head turned from side to side, looking like a dog trying to track the scent of food. He could really go for a nice cool beer, and having some beer from Earth would be refreshing. Hell, anything back from Earth would be refreshing! "I want to go to there. You reckon you can take me?"

Virgo nodded, smiling a little bit at his excitement. "Okay," she said, "Okay, I'll bring you to Gemini." Couldn't see anything else to do with him, except taunt him with it, but that was never her way. Never, ever her way.
"C'mon," she said, "let's go downstairs, I'll take you there."
And she did.
