I am a spiritually inclined atheist. I was raised Catholic, but never much believed the tenets of Christianity. Explored and considered myself Wiccan for a while. Realized I'd utterly stopped being able to believe in a higher power. Do still believe in divination, and to a degree magic/energy/mysticsm. If I ever did go back to religion, I'd probably be most interested in Druidic paganism, but at the moment I believe in nothing.

Has anyone looked into the aspects of Shamanism? I was reading up on it earlier, and it was pretty interesting... I'm thinking of going out and trying to find some books on Shamanism, and when I do, I'll be sure write a whole bunch about it 3nodding heart

What I dont understand is.... In the Catholic religion, murderers, rapist, child molesters... all they have to do is repent and they are accepted into heaven. Where as a genuinely good person who may be a different religion is denied.

I am Christian. I don't really have a denomination. I was raised Baptist (well really loosely) and then went to a Methodist church and then back to a Baptist church and then to a Church of God.....all of them scared me....I've decided that I don't have to get up at an ungodly hour (hey...6:00 is ungodly to me...I'm lazy sweatdrop ) and sit in a room and listen to a preacher while trying not to fall asleep and being generally miserable in order to show God that I love Him! I don't need another person to "help" me pray. I can talk to Him whenver I want and I usually do. I tend to talk to Him just like an old friend. It's probably a change of pace from all of the "We are not worthy" stuff He gets. I talk to Him this way because I believe He knows that I am being sincere. Why talk to Him like something I'm not?
Another thing that I believe in is actually hard for most Christians to accept. I believe that nature is aware. That nature has a "spirit" if you will. And I also believe in magic, that it is out there and all around us. One of my really religious friends (no names being mentioned) always tries to bring up religion. I tell her how I feel and she just doesn't get it. She kinda looks at me with that...Tsk tsk..poor uninformed child...look. I'm sorry that is how I am. I don't really talk about religion because it usually raises conflict and I really just don't want to deal with it. But if you ask...I shall tell. From reading all of the posts here it makes me feel like I can say what I feel and not be judged. smile Thank you.

aniluv: Whenever I'm in a forrest I feel that same way, it's like Nature's spirit is flowing in diffrent directions all around me and through me, it humbles me and yet makes me feel so good inside and full of life.

*nods* i agree with both of ya. There is just something about being surrounded by such life, outside of humans, that really makes you think about the world. When I'm in the woods, which is alot cause I live in the middle of no where, I always feel relaxed and protected. *shrugs* Its kinda hard to explain.

Good topic!
I am a Kitchen Witch, like most of the women of my Clan before me. I don't have an organized religion but I do respect them.

I worship Chaos. It's kind of hard to explain what I believe and why because most people don't completely understand Chaos. To put it as simply as I can, I worship the foundation for infinate possibilitys because I have been blessed with an innate ability to understand it.

I also pay homage to Hephaestus, Anubis, and the Archangel Camael.

I'm a soft line atheist.

I am, in a strictly personal way, an Atheist. There is no existing evidence to sufficiently prove the existence of a deity in any form. I have no basis of belief in one, and I do not believe in one. I do not declare myself an atheist for a simple reason:

I have no scientific evidence to disprove the existence of a deity in some form. Therefore, there exists a possibility that one might exist. I do not believe it to be so – that's my pure, proofless faith speaking- but I could be wrong. I do not have the knowledge of whether or not god exists, but I do not deny that it might be possible to have that knowledge.

I have many views that are in accordance with modern Satanism, primarily a deep-seating value in self determination and loyalty to the self rather than to any figure of authority.

Sounds like you're more of an agnost than an athist.

I was thinking the same, I myself am agnostic and your views are very similar to mine, I believe in a few things but I would never pretend to know them as any sort of fact, just ideas of existance I like, and energies I can feel physically. I also take alot of comfort in the simplest of facts that science can provide.
