Riley took her own drink, and dropped one claw into it, stirring it idly. Her eyes were fixed on the slow churn of the drink, thoughtful and somewhat distant.
I didn't even know what a friend was, before Amity. The sudden, but very quiet admission was a rare glimpse into who Riley had been before the school had influenced her. It's.. different. She took her claw out and let one of the tentacles suck on it, as she looked up at Mot. Nice. But dangerous.
The tentacle pulled away from her claw, and slid into her drink. And yet now I don't think I could live without them. Like I said.. dangerous. But nice.

The reaper always appreciated being given insight to the inner thoughts or distant pasts of a friend. It meant he was trusted, and that always made him feel good.
Mot fell silent for a short moment, as if contemplating a careful choice in words. "....Dangerously nice?" Mot teased with a cheeky grin.
Yeah. Yeah, he went there.

She did not return the amusement, though her eyes sparkled. Exactly that. Yes. But I have let go of my regrets. And I am happy for it. Her eyes suddenly crinkled at their edges, in lieu of a smile.
So tell me, Mot. Tell me something new. I speak so little to you, I regret that. What new adventure has Amityville brought to you?

"Hm. I can't remember the last time we even talked.." Had they ever really sat and talked before? How could he not?! "I'll have to remedy this."
"Hmmm.. adventures..Let's see.." Surely he'd been on many. "Chased by coconuts.. fell into a forest trap, found porn inside a golden chest.." Mot visibly cringed at that one. "Rode on a skeletal horse with Lizzy, trained with Hel.." Ugh, training. The running was fine, but the push-ups and ghoul flipping were torture.
"Oh! And I saved a village from bandits with Hel and Mitsu."

Riley's pleasant expression slowly, slowly fell with every more extravagant story. In the end, one brow was lifted in a gaze of mere disbelief.
You. You did all of that recently. She murmured. Ah. Hmm. Mot? She chuckled. Can I.. hang out with you more often?
His life sounded far more interesting than sitting at home reading a book. Though, that depended on the book.

Mot smirked, a smirk that soon became a cheesy grin. The reaper placed his glass aside and interlaced his fingers together, resting them under his chin. "I'll be sure to give you a call the next time I find myself doing something stupid. You'll definitely make my adventures more interesting." The reaper spoke alluringly, his hidden gaze lifting up toward Riley.
"Though I must warn you, most of my adventures are only funny when talked about after the fact." Like the coconuts and multiple forest traps.
Actually, those traps were never funny.
Jack damn traps.
"Hel wants to take me to the fitness room sometime soon for more training." He mentioned with a sigh. "You wouldn't know if any of those weird machines are actually torture devices, do you?"

They can be, if you really want them to be. Riley purred, clearly teasing. I can adjust them slightly if you're in to torture. I didn't know Hel was that kind of ghoul.
A little tweak here.. a tightening there.. you'll have her screaming in no time.

Mot almost went red at Riley's teasing, smiling nervously and shaking his head. "A-ah! No no, I was more worried about me." He corrected himself, waving a hand dismissively. "Those machines are kind of intimidating, but maybe that's because I've never used them. Then again, you said a beginner is better suited to the punching bag, right?" He'd remembered Riley suggest that to him when they had first met. He never did get a chance to use them, since paintball happened soon after. He much preferred that anyway.

Ohh. Riley looked genuinely disappointed in Mot's explanation, but brushed it off.
Well, you should be safe as long as none of the machines have been tinkered with. If you're really worried, I can always accompany you two, but honestly you should be fine. They all have visual aids on the side to help you understand how to use them safely.
She eyed him critically, before nodding once. But yes, punching bags are a good idea for when you first start out. The free weights are probably the worst idea. Too easy to drop them and injure yourself. This is why no one is allowed in there alone.

Was Riley.. disappointed?
Oops.
But, Mot wasn't about to get himself into the ways of torture just to please his captain. Sorry Riley!
"I can't see myself attempting weights any time soon, if ever." Mot laughed. "Hel says the training is just to make sure I can properly defend myself if I can't rely on my weapon."

Hel sounds like a very smart ghoul. You are making a wise decision, coupling with her for training. I have not yet seen her in action, has she any useful fighting skills?

"Useful? Probably." Mot hummed thoughtfully. "I haven't seen her fight, per say. We grappled a bit, and I got to say, she's a lot stronger than she looks." The Reaper grimaced. "She lifted me over her shoulder like I was nothing."
Mot chose to ignore the fact that there was little to him already.

Despite the fact that Riley could probably lift Mot over an entire house, with how thin he was, she was still impressed that Hel was the type of ghoul who had actually lifted him over her shoulder. Just having the guts to do it alone said something for the ghoul. Riley made special note of this for later, where she would not forget.
She sounds delightful. I will get to know her better. Are you getting to know her very well, then?

Mot smiled with a firm nod. "Yeah. She lives across the hallway from me. We hang out together a lot, since she lives close by." Hooray for more friends~. Despite Hel's enthusiasm in making Mot more physically fit, he found her to be a delight to spend time with.
In fact, Hel and Lizzy were the two people he spent the most time with. Why were his closest friends ghouls, anyway? Oh well. He didn't put much thought into things like that. Friends were friends.

That must be nice. She murmured wistfully. Having neighbors in the dorms around you that you can talk to and enjoy your time with. All I have is.. Her eyes rolled over to the side, and then rolled completely. Well. Let's just say we haven't been having many sleepovers together lately, Barth and I. Now that she thought about it, the demon dorms weren't really the social haven she'd expected them to be, when she first entered the Academy. There had been many prospectives.. but they soon became rather disappointing. Now..
I suppose if I lived on the same floor as Xiu and Lizzy, I might have that pleasure. But as it stands, I do not. She failed to mention how she spent most of her time in the undead or monster dorms, anyway. This was clearly irrelevant information. So I'm glad your situation is a little more enjoyable.
