"I don't know if you've heard about the caves at the lakes. I was researching there because there are supposed to be some interesting organisms in the lakes. A blizzard kicked up, so Ran couldn't fly, and the water was cold enough that I would have died before getting to shore. Not that I didn't have plenty of time to get samples because of this. I brought you some pond scum if you're interested." He took another bite of food.

"I figured you'd appreciate it. I brought several samples back from all over Sinnoh, but the pond scum just seemed like something you'd like to study personally." It wasn't an insult in the least. It was science. "A raid? Did anything exciting happen? You didn't fall in another volcano did you?" He smirked slightly. He was also amused that she was placated with just pond scum. He had gotten her other things as well. Though some were probably in poor taste for teasing the woman who now out ranked him.

"And I never realized just how many zubat could live in one colony. I swear there was one above my head every time I took a step in any cave. But watching them fly out at night was a sight to see. Zubat everywhere."

"That does sound exciting." he admitted, almost sad he didn't see it himself. What did he do that warranted that? Or does Maxwell even need a reason?" He remembered Maxwell. She was like a tank, and he was not one to mess with a tank that could eat him. "Oh? She did? Well that's great for her. I wonder what she's doing then. But I suppose it may be on a need to know basis."

Mau had nearly finished his meal before looking at the bag he'd brought with him. "Since I don't know when I'll see you next, I brought your gift with me." He reached into the bag. "Wait... what's this? Seems there's something..." He pulled out a some what slender box, the kid you'd get for christmas when your parents got you an ugly sweater. "Huh. How did this get here?" There was a tag on it that said "Nyx"

Mau was surprised and pleased that she so eagerly took the box. Though she may have thought it was the pond scum, he hopped she'd be surprised, and maybe a little flustered at the fairy dress inside the box. It was pink and sparkly, made of a fabric that would swish and flow around you when you moved. Mau tapped his chin. "Huh, wonder where that came from." He teased.

Mau had a sinking feeling he knew what it meant. She was going to dress up and watch princess movies with him again, right? But he played ignorance. "What does it mean?" He watched her a moment. The next "accidental gift" could wait a little.

Mau started to laugh until she said he should dress up as well. "...I don't have costumes." He said quickly. "Unless you want me to dress up as an evil scientist. That should be easy enough to do." He shook his head, reaching into his bag and 'knocked it over' and some of the contents spilled out. They were the first few seasons of "I was bitten and it was worse than I thought" that Mau had gotten for Nyx. He picked them up. "Hmmm I don't remember these." His voice was laced with teasing.

Mau smirked slightly. "Well, I have to make it up to you for being gone so long, right?" He sat back, holding the DVDs out for her to take. "Just don't pelt me with pokeballs trying to catch me, ok?" Of course, she hadn't really been falling for his ploy of innocence having these items for her, or pretending to play along, Mau didn't waste their time by trying to come up with another lame 'I don't remember this being here' story, he just fished the last surprise gift out of his bag. He handed her a princess collectors edition did box set with some sparkly 'princess jewelry' inside the jewelry box style DVD Box. The movie case was nestled down beside the ring holder, which had several plastic and glitter rings. Under the movie were bracelets and necklaces, and there was a tiara of metal and glass included as well, though it was a child size. "This is yours too."
