Oh, no. Oh no, oh no, oh no. Somebody, somewhere, somehow had made her sad when she had seemed happy just a second ago. Kam wasn't going to pretend he knew what had happened - girls were just weird like that - but if he hadn't thought that raging would only have made Chamba more sad, he would have gone around to each brother and whacked them upside the head. Because obviously, something they had done had made everything go from good to bad. She hadn't frowned until they'd shown up, after all.
Still blissfully oblivious to the truth behind the situation, he settled on shooting a discreet death glare at the nearest brother - who, unfortunately, happened to be poor Musabari - before pulling a one-eighty and beaming at Chamba. Maybe if she would be infected by his obviously infectious glee and feel better. That was clearly the way these things worked, but then, he wouldn't have been opposed to offering her a hug, even if he didn't know what was going on, and even if he ran the chance of catching cooties from hugging a girl.
"Don't worry, Chamba, I got your back, remember? You can do whichever you want," he reassured her.
Musabari was confused, and not in the same way Kam was. True to his studious nature, the golden cub was more than well aware of the situation with Chamba's sister. What he didn't understand was why his brother had just given him such a mean look.
He glanced haplessly toward his other two brothers, ears turned sadly backward. "What did I do...?" He whispered, as if afraid to provoke Kam's anger again. It was the first time in... well, ever that Kam had been angry at Musabari. It was usually the other way round, but anybody who knew the red-haired cub knew that he wasn't really capable of being angry.

Maral was relieved to have been spared Kam's evil look. Like Musa, he was unused to his generally easy-going brother getting angry enough to frown except in a theatrical manner intended to make a point. The frown he'd seen Kam give Musa hadn't been like that. That had been more of a glare, and completely unlike Kam, as far as Maral could tell.
Still, he was even more relieved to see that Kam was taking charge and doing something to make the girl-cub less upset. Maral hadn't the faintest idea how to go about doing that, and he wasn't sure Kam did either, but he'd rather see Kam try and fail than be forced to try it himself, because if Kam might fail, Maral was certain that he, himself, would definitely fail. Kam was more of a people person.
Sympathetically he moved toward Musa and gave him a reassuring nudge with his shoulder, trying to let his brother knew that at least he didn't hold the girl's upset against her. She was a girl, and girls were strange. Their sisters were proof of that.

Chamba was confused by Zikamil glare at his brother. She didn't understand what the brother had done wrong. "I- I'll be fine. Nothing to get worried over." She looked up at them and grinned the best she could. "I'll p-probably need someone to s-seek with me. If I am looking by m-myself I'll be looking for a long time." She knew the reason she never seeked was because she was bad at it and would spend a whole day searching and never find who she was searching for.

Maral waited for one of the others to step forward an offer to be a seeking partner for Chamba, but none of them did. He supposed it shouldn't have surprised him, but it did mean that he was put in the somewhat uncomfortable position of having to put himself forward. He didn't like doing that, but she was right that she would probably be looking for a long time without a partner. She was new and not as familiar with all the hiding places in the area.
"I'll seek with you," he volunteered finally.
He was much better at hiding. It went along with being unobtrusive. Still, he was a nice doormat and a sucker for a damsel in distress, and so he made the offer anyway. And then, since he was already being brave and acting out of character, he suggested to the others that they hide while he and Chamba closed their eyes and counted.
With his eyes closed he began to count.

Mheetu flinched when he saw Kamil glaring at Musabari for no apparent reason, confusion taking over his expression. He didn’t understand it and neither could he deny feeling somewhat happy that he hadn’t been the target of the violet gaze. And then he felt guilty for feeling that especially after Mu’s whispered question.
“Hum….” He started, relieved that Maral was comforting Mu and then taking charge. Part of him wanted to slip away and return to his duties but if everyone was playing, he certainly didn’t want to miss it. He just hoped Kamil wouldn't glare at him, too. “I’ll hide, then.”
