Alumina's eyes widen for a second as she looks at this newcomer, shock nearly making her freeze. But the change passes quickly, and she nearly doubles back out the gate. She gives herself a little shake, looking closer, before muttering, "No, that can't be him." She blinks, suddenly calm again.

"Everything is fine here, but you should be on your way. It is best not to tangle with strangers." She says loud enough for both to hear clearly. She dips her head as she passes the black wolf, her tail tip just barely giving a nervous, unnoticeable twitch.

She continues on a little faster, her claws scraping audibly against the stone as she climbs up the steps to the castle. Her eyes are set in front of her, tail low but curving up towards the end, she is clearly not in the mood for chat.

Using her head to open the doors, Alumina steps aside and gazes once more at the sadistic stranger. An odd feeling makes her paws itch as she watches him. "His room is straight down and three doors to the right." She says, her tail curling about her paws.

Darc follows her, upon entering the castle, even on these floors his paw steps made no noise. Kept his eye on the she-wolf most of the time, but made no attempt to chat. He had grown acustomed to paying attention to body language, and she was clearly ready to give a sharp retort to anything he may say other than business.
"Your help is greatly appreciated. Any more resistence and I would end up hurting more innocent people than I had planned." Darc said bowing his head. He was almost compelled to look back at her as he walk down the hall.
Now, every step toward the kings room seemed to be more struggle than than the last, it was as if something were fighting against him the entire way.
The king was staring directly at him as the door opened and it felt as if thousands of claws were raking through his shadowed being. He forced his shoulders to move forward into the room.
Suddenly everything blacked out.
Was the king even there? Did that kingdom even exist? I can't tell reality from my nightmares...

Alumina's ears pull back as she watches the strange wolf vanish down the hall. Her blue gaze stays where she had seen him last, uncertainty clouding her eyes. He seems so familiar.... She wills herself to move, she has a message to deliver. Taking one final glance back at the hall, she walks back down the stone steps and out the gate...

The sun sets as Alumina sits atop a hill, just outside of the kingdom. Her eyes are clouded and troubled, gaze set on the distant mountains. She runs through her memories, trying to figure out why that wolf had seemed so familiar, almost hauntingly. There is something about him... But I just can't place it..

Shadow stared after her in wonder, he couldn't read her mind, but he still saw the look of surprise. Which made him give another, "Hm?"

He decided to follow them, lagging behind a bit to keep from alerting them. As they headed toward the castle, he wondered, What could they possibly want from the king? he shook his head, Well, I want to know why she was so surprised to see me. he thought, so he trotted up a bit faster. Taking another glance over the shoulder.

He caught up with her, and awkwardly stood there, trying to phrase the question, after a brief pause he asked, "What happened back there?" he asked.

Darc woke up in a prison.
Indeed that kingdom was real. Though he was in no pain so the situation was fake. Without an escort he was a trespasser, and the king must not have been inside his room.

Why! Why must my mind be in such a state of disoray! This much trouble just to kill a king. Will make the accomplishment that much sweeter! I was looking to outsmart him, but I'm sure my mind at this point won't allow it.
The prison was mostly blocks of rock, it would be difficult to escape, however there was a barred window just high enough for him to jump up to.
Jumping forward, paws out at the window, he saw the outside and the shadowy fog of his body took it's place on the other side, he dashed out and switched his form into his flesh and blood illusion to remain unnoticed as the shadowed creature that had escaped.
He sat stationary near the gate like a guard, plotting his next move.

Alumina starts at the voice, snapping back from her memories. She turns her blue gaze to the wolf who spoke, eyes still slightly distant. "You just look a lot like someone I knew." She answers quietly. This can't be him, he had always worn that collar I found for him... She forces herself to not stray back into memories and she holds herself steady. "Those mountains in the distance is where I had lost my closest friend."

She can't yet trust anyone, anywhere. Slowly, she stands and stretches. "I'd best get my report back to the king before he throws a fit." She sighs, turning to leave but pausing. "The name's Alumina, by the way." She adds with calm indifference. She dips her head then turns and walks back to the gate, but as she passes, she suddenly freezes completely, eyes widening once more in shock. She stares directly at one wolf stationed, as though a guard, apart from the rest. Her body stands rigid, fur bristling with recognition. It can't be!

Shadow looked at her, "Alumina?" he asked, "That's a familiar name..." he mumbled. "I'm Shadow, everyone calls me Shadow." he nodded as she stood up and took a step back, "Well, good luck, and sorry for bothering you." he said.

He turned to leave, thinking about the name, "Alumina... has a ring..." he drifted off in thought, nearly running into a tree. He sat down and looked up, eyes closed and was deep in thought. Mountains... I think I know which mountains, but it was so long ago. he sighed, "Why do all my memories have to be bloody?" he asked himself.

After another series of thoughts, he sighed once again and laid his head down over his paws. But he didn't sleep, he just flicked his ear every once in awhile if he heard something.

Alumina forces herself to turn her gaze away, forcing back a howl. I'm just imagining things... She thinks to herself, dashing through the gate a little too suddenly and barrelling into the king himself. "Watch where you are going!" He snaps, his jaws closing on air as Alumina jumps back, growling low. "My apologies your majesty. I was just looking for you to give you my report." She replies, angered, but the king seems more pissed off. "Nevermind your report, there is a killer on the loose! He must be found and killed. I'm leaving that task, to you." He growls back, shivering.

Alumina can tell the shivers aren't from any cold, she had just rammed straight into him. He fears me... More than the others... But.. Why? Silently she merely dips her head and runs around the king. She just wants to get away from the haunting image, barely suppressing shivers of her own. I saw the rocks fall onto him, those yelps ring in my ears all too often... He died, but I just can't face that truth! Her mind screams for her to turn back, back to the mountains and dig the rocks out herself. If only to find his body. But what if its not there? What if that really was him? Mind racing, Alumina escapes through a tunnel, disused and forgotten, and comes out on the backside of the kingdom.

She stops to catch her breath, a large lake blocking her way now. She merely lays down at the shore, trembling.

Her eyes scanned the palace floors as she roamed around. She looked up and realized she had just about ran into a wall. She shook her head and looked around. Where are the stairs...? She asked herself. She had been living in this palace for ages and she still couldn't find her way around.

She sighed and turned around finding the stairs and beginning her journey up them. As the king's second in command, she got bossed around alot. Her nails clicked as she trotted up the stairs to the king's room. She got the top floor and walked down the hall to the king's room. She saw Alumina standing there and then put her ears back and slunk up to the king.Your Majesty...you summoned me? She looked at the king, her eyes dark and wary of the newcomer in her presence. She didn't so much as glance at Alumina.

The purple-ebony wolf had her wings neatly folded to her back and stretched, somewhere near a lake. She could scent the water, and her ears flicked as her jaws opened and snapped shut quickly in a yawn. The wolf's brilliant red eyes stuck out from her otherwise dark coat and she glanced around. It would be wise of Genevieve to check in with Captain Alumina, to see how she could help with the resistance.

A thorn pricked her left pad and she snarled quietly, pulling it out with her teeth and getting a drop of blood on her in the process. She stared at the little bubble with interest, before lapping it away and trotting out of the thicker trees and towards the lake.

"OUF!!" The gleeful pup-like female dive-bombed a salesman's cart, bringing havoc to his wares. The pain had hardly registered in her pleasant mind, but her wing was bothered by an arrow shaft. It stuck in the fatty bit of her wing, not causing much pain but throwing off her aerial finess. Seraphine tugged it out with her teeth, minding the pain with a yelp and ignoring the yelling cartkeeper. Right now she needed to leave this town on the outskirts of the kingdom, and report to her leader..Maybe find a healer, too...

Her wing hurt a little and dripped blood onto her white fur, but she'd be alright. She was no worse for ware, and tried her best to keep it off of the ground so it wouldn't drag. They had some remedies back at camp if no certified healers could be summoned at the moment. She was treading out the greeting gate, the entrance to this little town and wondered if she'd see another member of the resistance.

Shadow had fallen asleep, letting unconsciousness take over and dreamed that very same dream he always had, where he was chasing after the wolf he wanted to know more about, but this time, that wolf was not a darkened silhouette, it had more detail, the eyes shined through the dark forest setting, and there were more wolves moving as if they were dragging her away, and suddenly he blacked out...

He woke with a yelp, looking around frantically, then relaxed, breathing hard, "It's just a dream..." he told himself, "It just seems familiar." he shook his head, "Alumina, maybe we just talked to each other one day." he nodded, "Yeah, that makes sense, I probably was getting some herbs for that big lump on my head." he told himself, although he knew that he hardly talked at all as that happened.

He stood up, lazily shook the dust of his fur and walked back on top of the hill, sat down, and watched the same mountains that he found Alumina watching.
