Mandy stared disgruntled between her watch and the open door way for several more moments before deciding she didn’t have the patience for this. “Ok! Time’s up! I’m officially starting this meeting.” Behind them the classroom door closed with an ominous creak.
“Now, before we can all start jumping off things to our hearts content there is one thing I’ve been told to go over with all of you; safety.” The last word was drawn out with a hint of disgruntlement, free falling should in her opinion not be encumbered by such things.
“So in deference to this I’ve set up a little activity to give you a hands on idea of what’s involved. That is, I want you all to make your own parachute. Or whatever else you want to slow your fall.” Why you would want to slow your fall was a mystery to Mandy but she’d been quite adamantly informed that not everyone had a natural ability that got rid of pesky things like inertia. Laaaaaaame.
“You can use any of the material’s,” here she gestured at the assorted items, “I’ve bought with me or that you have on you. You have an hour and then we’ll be testing them in a jump.”
Here she paused, nudging Barth, “But, before you can do that you have to get your designs approved by our Chief Inspector of Health and Safety here.”
There was a pause as Mandy stared at them, “Well, get to it!”
((Instructions: Ok everyone; you have a week to complete this! All you have to do is sketch up, find an image or just plain describe of whatever your student chose to build and then roll a six sided dice with your post.
1 & 2: Unapproved! Try again! 3 & 4: Approved! Wait until Mandy tells everyone it’s time to jump. 5 & 6: Unapproved! Try again!
And yes if you get try again you do have to come up with a new design! Because of this you’re allowed to roll and then edit in your post as long as they’re all done by the end of the week. Feel free to ICly question Mandy.))

Shun turned his attention to Mandy as she started giving instructions on what they needed to do. When she gestured to the assorted items, he looked over at the pile before slowly making his way over. Making an effective parachute could be tricky but he'd try to make due with what was available.
He didn't want anything that could potentially mess up his jump, but if there was a way that he could unleash the parachute like a traditional one, that could work.
Grabbing some bedsheets and rope, he began to work away at that idea. It'd all be folded up fairly nicely and tied to his back. Once he was ready to slow down, he'd pull at a different rope which would allow the cloth to unfurl away.
Though, it seemed that this idea wasn't all that sound at all.

There was talk about the space they were using (tentacles?) and then Mandy took the floor again. The tatzel kept her attention fully on the drop bear while she spoke. At the mentioning of "safety", Levi tilted her head. Well- she'd jumped out of a third floor window thus far at school without anything to slow her fall, but rules were rules! If this was a requirement for the club, Levi would see it through.
Shun already was working on something. Huh. Really thought ya had somethin' thar. Cloth? It seemed like a way to go. Looking through things, however, Levi found a large plastic bag. Already assembled? Looked like the work was already done. What else did you need if the idea was to just catch air?
She'd hold it overhead after she jumped and it would take in all the air and let her float. Alright- Guess that's it. Simple n' does what I'm looking' fer.
This apparently wasn't enough. There was more to falling without use of her tail than she thought! It was time to think more complex.

West stayed where he was when Mandy began to speak. He could hear just fine, and he had no desire to mingle... until he was forced to. A low sighing grunty noise issued from his throat once the drop bear had detailed what they needed to do, and he reluctantly rejoined the others as they rifled through the ghoul's pile of crap.
His hand thrust forward and he grabbed one of the fan blades he had been manhandling earlier. West knotted some rope around the blade, then secured the whole mess around his torso. A couple of seconds later it clattered to the floor.
"Stupid crap!" He pulled the contraption over his head and tossed it all back in the pile. There had to be something here that would make a more suitable parachute.

Next up was a thin, vaguely boat-shaped piece of wood. West retrieved a sheet of fabric from the pile, doubled it over onto itself, and tied it around the wooden monstrosity. He grabbed the fabric in his fists, running around the room with his creation trailing behind him like a very disappointing kite. There was no way it was going to support his weight over the Pit of Molestation.
He threw the pieces back onto the pile and started digging through it again.

Somehow the next potential parachute West created was made mostly of bat-shaped doilies.
What.

Frowning, Shun went on and grabbed some other materials, making it out of tarp this time around. It had a similar function to the previous one he tried to make. For the most part, he didn't really pay attention to what the others were doing.. especially since it seemed that no one had made a safe enough chute just yet.
Including the one he just made.

Well this was starting to get a little irritating. Scrapping his last attempt, Shun went on and tries to make his next one out of some twine and plastic bags.

There still wasn't any luck thus far. Furrowing his brow, Shun grabbed a chunk of supplies and tried to see what he could do with them. The outcome was a bit of a mess. Let's just say that much.

Getting rather frustrated now, Shun ran his hand through his hair while looking at the materials they had to work with. At this point he was wondering if anything would be deemed acceptable.. ever. It starting was to look like nothing would pass the sloth's inspection.

Wood, bags, twine, ... dollies ... what else would they not have tried?...
Well- there was this one rubber bird-like toy. It squeaked when Levi curled her fingers around it. Somehow this toy along with a steel chain and some wiring was her new attempt. They're tried light- maybe it was time to try heavy?
The baffling contraption didn't make it past inspections. Looked like it would be back to the drawing bored for the ghoul. Okay- thought of light and simple as well as heavy and bizarre. What could she do next but attempt something in-between? Off to the pile of things she went!

"Kusoo...." hissed Shun under his breath as he tried out another way to go about the parachute. This time around, he made it out of several sheets to act as multiple, smaller, chutes rather than using one large one.
This time around, it seemed that it was sufficient enough. With a huff, the Reaper set it aside and relaxed now that he finally got that right.

Levi smiled at Shun's triumph. There was hope to be approved yet! She tapped at her chin and circled the pile of supplies. Shun had used cloth...perhaps a sweater would do? That was what was in her immediate vision at the moment- a sweater that looked to be wooly and warm with long sleeves.
Picking the sweater out of the pile, the white haired ghoul had to wonder if it was mistakenly placed in this pile. Did the sweater belong to Mandy or Barth? It was likely best not to shred it just in case that was the circumstance. Instead, she simply tied the arms and held it with one hand ...
...this would not do.

Surely she could do something with just the right amount of complexity and weight. It was back to the pile with the tatzel and she quickly found something new to try.
The problem with this choice was that it wasn't quite substantial. It was a goo; the ball of gelatinous-like material oozed from her fingers, making a thin but unscathed surface like a sheet. Shrugging, she gave it a shot and brought it to the Sloth demon for inspection.
Nope.

When she headed back to the pile this time, she was actually looking for something to wipe her slightly good hands with. The substance looked like it would make for an excellent addition to her shot ball from Bul but, per the moment, the parachute was her main concern.
Perhaps the white clot she took up? It wiped the ooze off nicely, but- ...could it also be used for the parachute? Perhaps with the addition of ooze-
Nope.
