It was the climax. Weeks of intense LARPing foot work to build up. Intense days and nights of hardcore practice. Tonight they would save Kirkwall. Or rather, Destiny City park.

Somewhere however? Anders had to ******** do it early. He just had to go and ruin everything. He went and ******** blew up the ******** chantry.
Or something.
All Hawke knew is that this was so.
So.
SO.
Not Kirkwall.

Eyes went right to the one person she could assume had done this. The mage. It was always the mage anyway. "********." She glared daggers. "Anders."

"REALLY Anders?" Hands waved to the vastness of what was around them. Or lack of around them. "Really?" Then she face palmed.

Frederick St. James was only half dressed.

And his first thought was something relatively stupid in nature:

"Am I in My Little Pony Land?"

Standing on the shimmering rainbow - rainbow - that stretched out for what seemed like miles before him, Fritz glanced around at the otherwise empty area, attempting to figure out just what on Earth had happened.

Or rather, what on someplace other than Earth had happened; since he could not, for the life of him, recall any place even remotely being described by a giant rainbow road.

He could remember a strange pounding in his head - a tightness in his chest, something buzzing, and then...well, here he was. Fritz frowned, his arms still half raised in the act of tugging on a green teeshirt, lost in thought as he contemplated his surroundings. He clearly hadn't fallen asleep and was dreaming - the fact that he was in the process of getting dressed was evidence enough.

That, and since he couldn't recall taking any drugs lately, he figured he must be suffering from paranoid delusions.

Except for the "paranoid" part. And probably the "delusion" part too, though his twin would say he was had a case of "delusions of grandeur."

If only Tolliver could see him now.

Fritz finished pulling on his shirt, yanking it down over his head and messing up his already sleep mussed mop of dark red hair, pushing the stray strands away from his eyes. The rainbow bridge was still there, in all its sparkling glory, but now that he was paying attention to something other than that, Fritz noticed that he was not alone. There were others milling about around him - dozens of others, some look worried, some excited, some completely flustered. Most, however, just looked confused, a few scared.

This would make for a great story.

Except he did not, in fact, have his notebook (or even a pen, for that matter) with him - a discovery that occurred after a minute or two of patting down his jeans pockets attempting to find one. Fritz gave a small, mildly melodramatic sigh of despair.

"So," he said conversationally, to anyone who was around. "Anyone else feel like they're in a Barbie commercial?"

Ian had merely been laying on his bed, still dressed in his school uniform, with his eyes closed and his music turned up loud. The bass was up enough that the pounding of his heart only felt like the music, but when he felt his body feel like it was falling, he opened his eyes only to be greeted by darkness.

It receded soon enough, and he felt confident enough to sit up, glancing around. This had to be a dream, and he couldn't help but agree with the boy who suggested this seemed like a video game.

He blinked when he heard one of his teachers voices, and glanced around to locate her in the crowd. He didn't see anyone else he recognized from Hillsworth, not that didn't mean that there wasn't anyone else there, and proceeded to stand up.

He wasn't going to figure anything out just sitting on the strange rainbow colored road.

Bela had been dressed in period clothing, and walking home from a lovely time of telling stories just down the street under her favorite tree when something happened.... something strange.... really really odd and out of character. Bela felt her heart start to race and there was something in her head and then a pinch in her stomach and she was off like the blink of an eye!

Bela was neither frightened, unamused, or upset about the sudden turn of events. Granted the headache she could have done without but the twenty year old was like a kid. She let a breath of awe go, her lilac eyes wide in childish glee.

"This. Is. The. Best. Day. Ever." She proclaimed, anyone that had been to any festival or fair where there was story telling would likely recognize her even by the vaguest bits, most likely her hair color and odd clothing choice for this evening's festivities. She seemed to be heading towards her normal day-dreamer self when she heard yelling, "Hush now, quite now, there's no need for that~" She said in a sing-song voice. "We surely won't come of any harm, for this my friends, is a story of a life time!"

"It's like wizard the oz I'm sure, we just have to follow the rainbow road." She continued in complete tune with the song and then began to hum it as she walked around drinking in the sights and sounds of space. Each one to her was a new start to a new story and each tale to be woven was expected with a different ending and cast, perhaps even some of those here with her.

"Toto, I suspect we're not in Kansas anymore." She said looking down, much as she did when she was acting out stories. Yes, yes, she was the weird one.

"Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?"

Anders cried out in exasperation from a few paces behind Hawke. One moment all their hard weeks of work and effort were building up towards the final game, and the next moment he had been convinced someone had actually hit him with an actual spell. Anders had felt light-headed, disoriented, and was pretty sure he had passed out in the least masculine way possible. That was no way to impress his fellow LARPers. Maybe later he could claim that he was trying out some new medicine or something...

And then it hit him that he had to have taken some serious drugs, because he was standing on a ******** rainbow. Kirkwall didn't have rainbows. Kirkwall wreaked of slavery, oppression, and generally crushed hopes and dreams. Where were the giant moving statues, the absolute fount and continuous flow of blood mages? No, it was a rainbow. "Suck on a fireball, Hawke," he grumbled, as if that would sufficiently shrug the blame off of his shoulders.

Anders was dressed in his complete LARP outfit, something he had spent countless hours toiling away at because he wanted to look just like Anders. If his mother had allowed him to dye his hair, he'd look like Anders! A shorter Anders, but an Anders nonetheless. "I swear I didn't do it." Somehow he didn't seem convinced of that himself. What if he did do this?

Oh god, he'd be pretty ******** awesome!

Amy had been in the middle of a late run in the park, wanting to clear her mind of...really just having to be a teenager was enough of an excuse. She wanted to get her muscles loosened up before the track meet next week, but she'd never make it there. The next thing she knew, she landed with a hard 'thump!' on her rump, a small moan escaping her mouth as she looked around.

"Oww," she mumbled to herself, rubbing herself like it would make it feel better. Her tank top and running shorts had been plenty in the park, but upon seeing nothing but the universe (or so she presumed) around her, she suddenly felt cold. Folding herself up a bit, she glanced around to see a crowd looking just as confused as she did. As soon as she heard someone mention the word aliens, it all made sense. "Aliens...I bet there's a Facebook game just like this!" she whispered to herself. The thrill of the unknown and (presumably) known was terrifying and exciting all at the same time.

Of course, with her eyes settling in on the pair of LARPers, it really did feel like some sort of video game now. About...antique aliens?

She had been practicing her handstands, and felt so dizzy. Hadn't she eaten? No, no she always made sure to eat...even if she was trying some fancy new breakfast bar this morning.

Another wave of dizziness hit her and she closed her eyes for just a moment, then felt herself slowly falling.

She let out a slight cry as she smacked onto what she thought was the floor of her practice room, but turned out to be the rainbow road. When she opened her eyes she frowned.

"The hell?" The blonde murmured, rubbing at her forehead. "Why am I sitting on a rainbow?"

s**t. Had she hit her head so hard she passed out? Well. That would be a first. Note to self, eat a real breakfast from now on. Not something stupid.

She shook her head, running a hand through her slightly wavy hair and glanced around. So many people were here...there were.

Ah. Some she knew? Why were they here? Did they pass out too? Or was this just something strange. Hm. Bet her mother would say that it was something out of the dark works of Poe again.

Raven smirked. Yeah. Poe. Like he would really write something that involved a bright, shining rainbow road. Well. Whatever.

The girl stood and stretched, glancing around. "So...Anyone know what's going on here, or are you all too stunned to try and figure that out?"

A child was screaming. Marienrode obligingly looked towards the louder voice, proceeded in that way to put a hand on the child's shoulder. She squeezed, gently, and said as calmly as she could: "There's no reason to be distressed. This is, in every likelihood, simply a dream, reminiscent of the coma sickness of last summer. We will wake up, and we will be fine." A true DC woman, born and raised, she simply took the idea that it was a communal dream in stride. She would never dream up a screaming child.

Also, if it was a dream, she didn't have to be afraid. Even if she never fell asleep while grading. Even if she had never had a dream so complete, and certainly never one where she'd recognized the dream. It was just a dream, and she was not afraid.

"Mr. Davis," she called, as soon as she saw the boy sit up. She pointed out the Hillworth student, peered around to try and spot any others of her classes. There were a few she recognized simply from walking through the other regional high schools, but she didn't know their names. "You, child, with the ridiculous hair!" Which actually described many of them when she put her cognitive faculties to the test. "You return here right this instant, we do not go wandering the strange space road until we are cognizant of what is occurring at this moment!"

Regina's camera was clearly missing and she was slowly coming to terms with that fact (while completely disappointed with herself). It was the mention made of 'facebook' that made her realize that she did have her cell phone, though and that it should still have a functional camera (provided the aliens hadn't decided to confiscate that as well).

"Facebook! You're brilliant!" She beamed at the other young woman as she began to pat herself down again, doing a tiny little dance on the rainbow road as she pulled her phone out of her pocket. "Absolutely brilliant... Do you think we get a signal here? Or, rather, do you think they'll allow us to communicate with the outside... Well, inside, well, no... Are we the inside world or the outside world now, considering we're in space? Provided this really is space. It looks like space to me..."

Somehow, unknowingly, the poor young woman had opened up another rambling can of worms.

This was ******** up.

Soon, the whole damn place was crowded. Joshua didn't like this, one bit. He finally got up before anyone can step on him, and looked at Marienrode. She seemed like the only one who had her head on her shoulders, really. "Yeah, it's probably some ******** up dream..."

Through he couldn't remember lucid dreaming before. This was kinda cool. Through really, when did he wake up ? He didn't even remember falling asleep !

The first question to run through Wallace Suite's mind when he appeared on what seemed to be a technicolor road through space was not "where am I?" or "what happened?" or even "what the hell is going on?" Those were all good questions, considering the situation, and once he calmed down a little, he would get around to each of them in turn. There was, however, a more pressing issue for him. Even more pressing than "why am I on a technicolor road in space," though that would soon follow.

"Where are my pants?"

It took a moment for Wallace to remember what had happened. He had just finished swimming practice- just a few laps and some simple dives, since the Meadowview team hadn't started official practices yet- and was on his way to get dressed. Strange, though, he couldn't remember getting to the locker room. Had someone kidnapped him between the pool and the locker room? But who? Why? And why couldn't they at least wait for him to change?

This was all too much for him. Wallace shut his eyes and tried to take stock of his situation from an objective angle. He was not where he was supposed to be. That happened a lot, though he'd never ended up so lost that he'd walked straight into space, if that was where he was. He was a bit chilly, but that was to be expected: aside from his still-damp swim trunks, all he was wearing was a cheap pair of flip-flops and a swim cap. His glasses were slightly fogged, but thankfully present. The towel he was sure he'd been carrying, not so much. It would have provided a modicum of warmth, or modesty, and hadn't he heard stories of towels saving people's lives before? If he ended up in real danger, he didn't even have a towel to save him.

"And how come these people all got to get dressed before they were kidnapped?" he asked of nobody in particular, opening his eyes again and waving his arms at the gathered masses. "Where's the fairness in this?"

Ricky looked at the stern woman (Marienrode) lecturing the people running around the rainbow road. He stared, a blank expression on his face trying to interpret the large vocabulary words she was using into terms he could actually understand. Cogni-whatnow?

"Smartypants," he rolled his eyes as he approached the edge of the road. He placed one hand out, tapping on the wall. It was some messed up s**t, man. "I dunno if we're dreamin' miss. I ain't never had any dreams with rainbows in 'em. But den again, I ain't gots no other ******** clue where the hell else we could be so..."

“I’m sorry… I’m so sorry.”

The Tenth Doctor had a reason to be apologetic. He had the fate of universes on his shoulders, numerous space bitches depending on him and his sharp blue suit to save them from unimaginable evil. His mistakes mattered. Mal Landsman’s, however, had little impact on the world at large, which is why she did not feel a pressing need to tell her friend she was sorry for bailing on her to stay at home and watch corny science fiction shows. As she stared through a cannabis-induced haze at a text dripping with passive aggressive accusation, the only feeling stirring within Mal was hunger. And maybe a really dry mouth.

Mal rolled out of bed, pushing herself off the edge of her mattress and into the infinite void that had suddenly replaced her cluttered bedroom floor. Her heart raced as she felt herself hurtling through blackness, a sensation thankfully cut short by her loss of consciousness.

When she came to, she found herself staring up at the night sky. Confused murmurs buzzed around her, sounding more far-off than they actually were. She was sprawled out on the ground, and while her dulled instincts were beginning to insist she sit up and discover just what the hell was going on, the much larger and lazier portion of her just wanted to lay there and enjoy things for a little while.

Eventually, someone inevitably muttered the Wizard of Oz line, and Mal was forced to evaluate just how far out of Kansas they really were. While the fifty-odd other people around her were a curious matter, and the rainbow road intriguing if not a little garish, Mal found herself unable to focus on anything other than the vast cosmos stretching out in every direction. The endless beauty of the universe surrounded her, a streak of color the only thing keeping her and the others aloft in a sea of forever. Glassy eyes regarded the yawning void with awe, and Mal did the only thing she could think of doing.

She tweeted.

Well now, if anyone had told Cameron that he would be suddenly standing on what seemed to be a spectrum of light in space, he would have certainly called them an idiot. Not only was it scientifically impossible for moisture to form in space and then have sun shine on it to create one but... okay. So there was a lot more wrong with the man's theory than just moisture and sunshine. He was in space. He was breathing. Was he dreaming? Was he dead? And most the most important question: why was he just in his boxers?

The last thing he could remember was he was at the drawing table, planning out the schematics for a robot. Sure, school had barely just stared but he was not about to be caught behind the curve and allow people lower than him to look like they were better.

It was apparent Cameron wasn't pleased about this all, and he could feel a migraine coming on, his hand falling on his head. Why the hell was it so noisy in space? His head looked around, and soon he realized he certainly wasn't alone. Was this some sort of Azure Valley prank? It had to be. This was just completely illogical. It had to be some sort of frosh week prank. Cameron was willing to bet that the seniors had spent the entire summer plotting this.

He tapped his foot against the road below him. His first impression was that this fiberglass was pretty cheap but overall he was slightly impressed, just slightly. Mentally, he made note to get the numbers of the seniors in charge of this and make use of their talents later. If they could have somehow managed to get him in here as well as everyone else they must have something useful that he can use.

After sulking for a couple of minutes over his lack of Nintendo DS, Darwin finally decided to pay more attention to the situation at hand, namely the whole not-on-Earth thing. Really, he didn’t know what to make of it. Drugs made for a likely explanation. Magic was another possibility, considering he was from DC. Or he supposed he could be dreaming, but if he was, what was with all the other people asking so many stupid questions. Glancing at a nearby blonde (Raven) that had asked if anyone had a clue what was going on, Darwin offered:

“ Drugs. The terrorists drugged the water and I’m hallucinating.” He thought about that, and realized it didn’t quite fit. “ Eh, we are hallucinating... Can you share hallucinations?”
