"No, its okay Lattice. It's..getting easier to talk about." It really was. She didn't hesitate as much and even better she didn't cry. "I used to tear up every time a remotely similar topic was brought up. I think talking about it in parts is making it easier to handle." Though what was really making it easier was having friends. She had support now that she had never really had before.
Eyeing the pastry that she was still holding Mitsu brought it up to nibble at it. It was good, almost as good as the tea. The two certainly complimented one another.
About to tell Lattice that the tea and pastry were delicious Mitsu was cut short as a tall figure stepped up to their table welcoming themselves to sit down. It was an older boil, though it was hard to tell his race. Possibly demon or monster with all the horns and oddly colored skin. "Hello Ladies~" The boil smiled charmingly. "I saw you both over here and thought you might like to have a little fun." Though by the tone of his voice his idea of fun was questionable at best.

She nodded a little, "I am glad it is getting easier for you. I just didn't mean to pry into something saddening for you." Secretly lattice was simply glad the other ghoul didn't go running off or even hating her. There was just simply a nice bond of sorts forming between them as Mitsu shared her heartache and that was enough for Lattice. "I cried a lot too when my sister and I were apart but I can hardly compare the two situations..."
All things considered Lattice felt that Mitsu had it the worst.
Lattice was simply enjoying the moment when suddenly they were accosted causing the ghoul to turn her head toward the boil that was speaking to them in a tone that she didn't quite like at all. While she couldn't make out the intention behind it she simply didn't like the way it felt it was heavy with expectations of them. "No thank you, we are fine not having fun with you," Lattice replied firmly.

"It's alright though, you didn't know." Mitsu couldn't blame the ghoul. Asking about family was generally a common get to know you question. It just happened Mitsu didn't have family around anymore to talk about.
Quietly Mitsu sipped at her tea again letting the situation settle away when she looked up a the sound of an unfamiliar voice. She stared unsure at the boil, her ears folding back in a nervous manner. Silence over took her but thankfully Lattice still had a handle on her voice, Mitsu wasn't sure she could speak.
"Aww, don't be that way, doll face," The boil grinned helping himself to a pastry still sitting on the table without asking. "You two looked lonely I went out of my way to bring you some entertainment." He stuffed the dessert into his mouth quickly before reaching out a hand to rest on Lattice's shoulder. "So what do you say, why not let me show you a good time."

Lattice nodded a little. It made her happy to be forgiven by Mitsu. She would have tried to make it up to her if it had been much worse of course but as long as this was all that would come of it Lattice was happy to let the subject just drop.
Her face, if at all possible, went even more neutral and Lattice just sat really still for a long moment watching the shadowy arm as it reached over and took things without even asking and then he touched her. Not that she would have taken it anymore kindly if he had touched Mitsu but her own person? Quietly she went to pour herself a new cup of tea and ... Oops she accidentally poured the rest of the hot water over their new guest's lap.
"..Dear me."

The girl had remained quiet and for a moment the boil thought she was just playing coy. Especially since she so calmly started to pour herself a cup of tea. "What's the matter, Babe? Cat got your -YAOW!" The boil found his way out of his seat in a hurry as hot liquid covered his lap. There was a bit of a dance, some flailing, and some fanning trying to cool the area quickly. He was a few steps away from a river styx dance performance, his reputation was shattered.
"You little b***h," The boil hissed having finally regained some composure. He was furious now and it was easy to hear in his tone and see in his brightly glowing eyes. He took a step forward an arm reaching out to jerk Lattice to her feet but something was in his way.
Mitsu had been on pins and needles after the boy had sat down. He didn't have a very welcoming tone and she was nervous of him being so close to Lattice. When he had placed a hand on her shoulder Mitsu could feel the fur on her tail bristle. Luckily Lattice seemed to have a plan but Mitsu was quick to rise from her seat when the boil moved away flailing from the hot water.
She wasn't sure what she was going to do, she wasn't very strong but she stood in his path as he came back around. The lycan didn't want him pestering her new friend and right now he looked mad enough to strike.
"Out of my way, Mutt." The boy hissed, reaching out a hand and taking hold of Mitsu's arm. "Or you'll be the one hurt."

Despite the fear and turmoil she felt within she managed to look deceptively calm when the unwelcome boil started reacting to her little stunt. She even calmly set the pot down so it wouldn't get broken or anything. She was getting ready to react to whatever else the boil would do when suddenly Mitsu stepped up between them.
Her lips formed a thin line when the male called her friend a mutt. Quietly she stood up and moved to stand near Mitsu a hand on the other ghoul's shoulder for a show of support as she then looked up at the boil, "You should leave before I do something a lot more uncomfortable than pouring hot water on your lap. We do not wish to have...your fun. We were having fun just fine on our own."
Lattice would have no qualms forcefully embracing the boil and letting him feel as much pain as possible. She'd of course also send Mitsu to get help during that but hopefully it wouldn't come to that.

Mitsu was tense, there was no other way to describe it. Feeling the boil's hand tighten around her arm Mitsu's ears fell back in a defensive manner but she didn't try to escape. No, she didn't want to leave Lattice behind. She fully expected to be hit though and almost jumped when Lattice placed a hand on her shoulder. Looking over to see it was the engraver standing at her side Mitsu felt a small sense of calm. She wasn't alone.
"Oh yeah?" Always the greatest of come backs. No doubt this boil had the highest of educations. "What do you plan on doing, Porcupine?" The boil made no effort to remove his hand or back off. He was ready to advance and make the ghoul pay for her stunt.

Lattice stared quietly at the male her face unreadable until there was a slow quiet smile and her head tilted to the side, "Porcupine now, hm?" She asked as she moved a bit more forward so she wouldn't hurt Mitsu her needle covered arm raised and came down toward the boil's forearm that had the hand gripping onto Mitsu, "Let. My. Friend. Go." She in a tone that almost sounded angry or at least severely put off.
It wasn't so much as a plan as much as an immediate action to try and keep Mitsu from getting hurt or drive her to some bold action so that they could scare this boil away and so they could quickly make their way back to the academy where it was safer. Either way she wasn't going to abandon Mitsu to her fate.

"Jacking Hell!" The boil immediately pulled back his now bleeding arm, Lattice having succeeded in giving him a few well deserved puncture marks. He growled lowly finally backing off as he placed his hand over the few spots that were bleeding. It seemed like he wanted to say something but he was already rethinking this plan. "Don't think this is over." He warned shortly before he left. Who knew what he would be planning.
Huff Puff, Mitsu had no idea Lattice was so bold. If she wasn't so rigid with fear she probably would have sung the ghoul's praises. As it was she just barely managed to stutter out a grateful sounding and much relieved thank you. "M..maybe we should head back to campus?" Before the boil got back.

"Take your time, idiot." Lattice called after him following it up with a rather obscene gesture. Normally she didn't do such things but the whole situation had riled her up to the point of ill temper and strange behaviors. She also felt very much emboldened by the fact that the boil was turning tail and leaving. She would do what it takes to protect her new friend he could bring a lot of others but she wouldn't back down. Her eyes narrowed behind her mask and then Mitsu's voice caught her attention and her demeanor calmed considerably.
Lattice nodded a bit, "Yes let me take a moment to put all my things together," she murmured with a small sigh. "So rude," she murmured as she padded back to the table and somewhat hastily put everything back in her basket.
"Are you alright, Mitsu? He didn't hurt you did he?" She asked some concern etching into her voice.

There was a bit of an awkward silence as Mitsu turned in time to witness Lattice's particular choice in sign language as a parting gesture to the boil. oAo
Finally Mitsu sighed with relief, the situation was over...for now. As Lattice moved back to the table to gather her things the werewolf followed carefully trying to help the engraver pack. She was a bit shaken but she made sure to handle everything with care. The lycan would feel terrible if she were to drop something.
"Me? I..I'm fine." Mitsu confirmed. He had grabbed her arm but nothing more. Other than being startled she was unharmed. "Are you alright?" Lattice seemed rather calm and collected through the whole thing but Mitsu had to wonder.

She'd probably scold herself for such extreme reactions later but right now she didn't care nor notice the awkwardness she was regarded with.
Lattice carefully poured what was left of her tea into the thermos but when the question was turned back on her she just stayed silent a moment as she screwed the lid back on and placed it in the basket. A quick look around told her that thanks to Mitsu's help they had pretty much gotten everything in order. She let out a sigh, "No. I'm frightened, but there is nothing to do for it. He can come back and threaten me all he wants but if he threatens you again...I'll do much more than maim his arm."
How dare he pick on her friend. She and Mitsu were having a lovely chat and he ruined it.
The Engraver picked up her basket, "Let us go before he follows through on his threat," hopefully he'll forget who they are later.

Once it seemed that Lattice had all her things in order Mitsu stepped up beside the ghoul reaching out to gently take her free hand. "Y-Yes I think it would be best if we went back to school. M-Maybe we can have tea in the courtyard o-or there is a garden by the reaper dorms?" Lizzy had taken her there. It was actually a very pretty place and Mitsu wanted to get to know her knew friend more.
"At least if you are up to it." It was possible after the encounter that Lattice would want to relax on her own for a while.

"I suppose so," Lattice said thoughtfully, "I don't care if I got to hurt as long as you are fine." The ghoul said simply with a small shrug. It was one of those things that she did if it was asked of her or not. She liked protecting others and caring for them - she spent much of her life protecting Needle as best as she could whether or not her Sister wanted that protection.
Lattice grasped onto Mitsu's hand gently when she reached for it not seeming bothered by the contact. She seemed thoughtful of the prospect of tea in the courtyard or even the garden, "Hmm," she uttered softly but started to walk forward a bit.
She wanted to think on it a moment first.
It wasn't until they were about out of the park she spoke up, "How about we make an arrangement? We shall take a moment to recover from our ordeal but in a couple of days we shall meet in the courtyard and we shall then go have tea in a place you love most."

"O..Oh I wouldn't want you to get hurt because of me." Mitsu would have felt terrible if that had happened. Just thinking about it sent a bit of a chill down her spine. At least the conversation didn't linger on the subject long.
An arrangement to meet later. Mitsu smiled behind her mask giving a bit of a nod. "That sounds wonderful. There is a big tree in the courtyard we can meet there."
Letting her fingers wrap gently around Lattice's hand Mitsu followed beside her back to the school. "For now though I can walk you back to your dorm." Mitsu offered. At least that way she knew the girl would be getting back safely.
