Mitsu looked a little deflated at those words. Yes...she had felt unwanted. That's exactly what she tried to avoid thinking about. That she had been abandoned not only by her parents but later on by her brother. That's what Suto kept trying to convince her of.
Quietly Mitsu listened to Riyo's story wondering if this had something to do with what she had said about being hurt. Her father leaving and her mother giving more attention to strangers, it would be tough. With the tilt of her head Mitsu tried to make sense of Riyo's words. Indisposed of? Perhaps...she shouldn't ask.

Riyo frowned as she noticed Mitsu's deflation at the mention of being unwanted. Once again, she'd ******** up. Go figure.
"Mitsu." The ghoul started, leaning forward to wrap her hands around her cup. "I can't rightfully say what your parents were thinking when they left you... But whatever it was doesn't matter anyways. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, and because of that, you know how not to treat people.. Or your own children, should you choose to have them." She had been learning that more and more every day. When some schmuck with a vivid imagination came up to her preaching of magical adventures and special times, Riyo held back her desire to tell them how shitty the world was and utterly crush their dreams like hers had been. It was hard. It was so hard, but those smiles, those innocent, ignorant smiles, somehow made it worth it. As if her childhood lived vicariously through them.

"Y..yeah." It was just hard to believe when Riyo so perfectly hit the nail on the head. But the feline did have a point and in a way that's what she was doing now. Making sure someone else didn't feel abandoned.
"I..I'm not really sure why they left. We seemed happy from what I remember. One day they were there and the next they weren't." It was nearly the same with her brother though he had started acting strangely the day before. He was distant and quiet so Mitsu knew something was wrong.

As Mitsu explained the situation, Riyo bit her lip avoiding the comments that would make the ghoul feel worse. A part of her wanted to drag Mitsu down into the lonely abyss with her.
... But she didn't deserve that.
"Well Mitsu." Riyo started, finally having another sip of her now cooler beverage. "No one can say what was going through your parents head... But What I can say is you're wanted now." From what Riyo saw at least. She tried to swallow her pessimistic pride in favor of cheering the ghoul up. Who knew? It may have been just like the feline always said. People use you and leave you after you've served your purpose. "I mean, I don't know what your shadow would do without you." She was, of course, referring to Shun.

Mitsu gave a light shrug ready to let the conversation go. Riyo's words were suddenly encouraging though and it lightened the mood. The lycan didn't quite bounce back like Mot did but her ears perked and she certainly looked less deflated.
"My....shadow?" Mitsu asked in a curious tone. She thought for a moment before she finally asked. "S..Shun?" It was strange to hear the reaper referred to as her shadow since she was the one that followed him around mostly.

"Yes, Shun. The guy who's always trying to speak for you." Riyo mumbled and rolled her eyes yet again. Ugh, Shun. the very idea of him pissed her the hell off. Personally the feline thought Mitsu could do better with some kind-hearted sap, but such a meek ghoul couldn't really be picky, she supposed. "Though, I suppose he wouldn't do it if you weren't worth something to him." Not that it excused his behavior, but she WAS trying to cheer up Mitsu here.
After finishing her tea, Riyo stood and walked over to the sink. "Anything else you'd like to talk about or should I get back to playing my violin?"

This time Mitsu had caught the eye roll and she had to wonder what that was about. Was there a purpose behind it? She did her best to think about Riyo's words letting them sink it. There was a bit of truth to them, or at least that Shun cared enough to stand by her and stick up for her. Though Mitsu wasn't so sure it wasn't her sticking to him.
After Riyo finished her tea and turned toward the sink Mitsu lifted her cup to her face moving the mask aside just slightly so she could drink. The tea was gone in two big gulps before the mask was put back in place. Thankfully it had cooled down or that would have been a horrible experience.
"O..oh," Was that Riyo's subtle hint that she should leave? Standing Mitsu took her now empty cup toward the sink so that it could be washed. "N..no I just wanted to check up on you. I guess I'll get going now. Thanks for the tea." The lycan nodded her head in thanks setting the cup in the sink. "I'll...see you in class?"
With a light wave Mitsu made her way to the door and exited hoping she remembered her way back. She had made a right to get here right? Or...had it been a left?
