Light smiled at that, leaning in to lap up the water. She blinked at the slightly nutty flavor. "That was nice," she decided after a moment, then nestled back into the grasses, just watching him. She tried to think of something more to say, but couldn't, so she contented herself with resting her cheek against the softness. Eventually, her eyes drifted shut, and she faded into sleep with a quiet sigh.
When she woke later, she caught sight of the dark kimeti nearby. In the silence, he'd fallen asleep as well, and somehow, the sight of him made her smile a little more. She got to her hooves, feeling muscles strain a little from the fight before, but nothing buckled, and she remained still a minute, taking stock before picking her way carefully over to Night to peer at him a little more closely.

The sound of Light moving about had Night slowly awakening -- slowly, which was confusing, because normally the transition from sleep to awake was made in an instant. He opened his eyes after a few moments and lifted his head, studying her in turn. "How are you feeling?"

"Much better," she admitted, her eyes warm as she leaned down to nuzzle him where his jaw and throat joined. "Thank you so much. I'm not sure I would've made it if you'd just left me out there," she admitted, carefully lowering herself to settle beside him. "Are you cold?"

The nuzzling was strange; the cuddling was stranger. Night blinked as she settled so close to him, the buck confused by the easy familiarity, but he certainly didn't try to push her away. It felt... nice. "You might have, and you might not have. But it's not a worry, now." He hesitated, just a heartbeat or two, then added, "I'm a little cold, but it's nothing."

"Two are warmer than one," Light smiled, leaning against him, so their warmth pooled together. "You should probably rest more." She paused, then chuckled softly. "Besides, I was cold too." That said, she nestled a little closer, then closed her eyes again, enjoying the warmth.

Night stared down at her for a long moment... then gave a soft whuff of a sigh and settled closer, his head down near hers as he closed his eyes. It was strangely easy to drift off again with her right there.
This would be a good way to sleep...
