Well, that was certainly odd. Xavier was always very kind and very giving over things much greater than a single pen, but he wouldn't give her the pen? Did that confirm her suspicions? Her eyes looked at him carefully, studying him curiously as she rubbed her hands against Tempo's head and scratched her ears some more.
"Is it a... special pen?"

Didn't she recognize it... ?
Bell wouldn't just have told him Ainsley was a senshi as a joke, right ? No, he refused to think that. The girl was just being careful, that was all.
"It is a special pen." He said with a nod to her. "Through you can't tell anyone about it... Alright ? It's very important."
Hopefully that was enough of a hint ? He sure as hell wasn't henshining up in the house.

Ainsley gasped a little at the shock of being informed that the pen really was a special pen. Did that mean that he really was a senshi too? Did that mean Tempo was a magical cat like Cora too? The fact that all the guardian cats had stars on their head eluded the child, her fingers scratching the top of Tempo's head. It was almost easier to believe that Tempo was a magical talking cat than that Xavier was a senshi. The only person who she knew was a senshi was her sister Bell, but now Xavier too?
"I have a special pen too..." she whispered. "Cora gave it to me."
Check and mate?

There we go.
"That doesn't surprise me." Not in retrospect, no. Cora was, after all, Ainsley's cat, through he couldn't say he wasn't upset at the cream-colored feline had kept this from him - and from Bell, apparently - for so long.
But it wasn't worth being upset over. Now they both knew, and now they both could watch over the little senshi of sleep.
"********* gave me mine. You might know of her ?" Honestly, it wouldn't surprise him - ********* seemed to be often seen by many. "And no, Tempo isn't a Guardian." He said, amused at the looks the child was now giving the purring beast in his arm.
"Later, you can show me and I'll show you, and we can patrol together ?" It wasn't as good as getting her to stay home and safe, but it was better than her going on her own. If he spun it this way, perhaps she would not consider the fact that he was offering this sorely so he could watch over her.

Xavier wasn't surprised but Ainsley was. She never expected that her super nice friend Xavier was a senshi as well. Then again, Ainsley never would have expected that her sister Bell was a senshi too. It made the child question the people around her with curiosity. If her sister as well as her good friend Xavier could both be senshi then anyone could. Or perhaps they were all brought together by a story-like Destiny? The thought was cut off when Xavier mentioned ********* and immediately she went back to December when she found the little manx in the snow.
"Santa Cat?" She tilted her head, before quickly correcting herself. "I found ********* asleep in the snow so I brought ********* home in December and fed her lots of food."
She looked at Tempo, pressing her head lightly against the cat's for a moment before pulling away to look at the tuxedo dress cat. "So she won't talk to me?" She was obviously disappointed. "Come on Tempo, you can talk to me. It'll be our little secret. I won't tell!"
She took a moment to enjoy Tempo's purrs before looking back at Xavier. She nodded to him and smiled softly. She liked the idea of going out with a senshi for a change, used to traveling the road of a senshi alone. "Okay!"

There. Smooth as butter.
Tempo did, comically, chose that very moment to meow, which made Xavier laugh. "Well, it looks like she's trying..." He petted the top of the tuxedo's head.
"Wait, you brought ********* here ?" And Bell didn't notice ? ...Okay, he couldn't help but think that was kinda hysterical.
Even if he would probably sleep on the couch for a few days if he ever voiced that would loud.

Ainsley smiled at Tempo, very happy that she was trying. Ainsley knew she could do it! One day they would all be in the living room and Tempo would strut on in and speak to them! She would just need practice, practice Ainsley was willing to to give her. Most definitely, at that very moment, Ainsley was already plotting teaching Tempo words from her word of the day calendar.
"Yes!" She said with a smile, giving Tempo another pat on the head to say she'd done a good job trying to speak. "I couldn't very well leave her out in the snow."

Ha, that was an answer he might as well have given, through he knew that ********* could handle herself... certainly.
So instead he just patted the top of Ainsley's head. "I still got a bunch of boxes to unpack, would you like to help me or would that be too boring for you ?" He offered, amused. Most of his things were things only he truly saw value in.
And boy there were a lot of them.

Ainsley nodded expectantly, carefully shuffling to her feet in the process.
"I want to help," she said, easily coming to the decision. She could help him, and see all his treasures and they could make an absolute day out of it.
