Countess had excused herself leaving the Lasombra elder Aurora upstairs in her quarters. Amazing she hadn't been thrown down in the dungeon with those insane wolves that laughed endlessly after all that processed to this point in time. Seating herself upon a "waiting couch" embroidered in purple and black velvet she pulled a desk toward her. Taking a quill and parchment she began writing. It was a strange moment, a pause in her life which she rarely choose to express any emotion these days. But at this point in time she was bidding her own death sentence so she had many a moment to indulge in a quaint idle moment....
"What happened I do not know and yet as my hand writes my thoughts I'm inclined to believe in many things. Be it Tremere who betrayed us or the halfblood known as Sophia that seduced to of my blood leading them against us the "Keepers". Whatever the cause Tremere is never to be trusted even in their foolishness. I was a fool to accept such whimsical entourages surrounded in lies.
My son Dante and my daughter Violette saw the Ante's persuasion past his web of tangled lies. I wonder if Sophia would of been a divine shadow before Cameron disgraced her into a seething hatred of this clan. Now both Dante and my youngest daughter are swept up in a lie that consumes them both long before Lasombra could embrace them as their own.
What has happened to this clan suffering many losses I ask? Even my other Elder vanished along with my mate. Such is a turning point in this clan I can not believe. Now my second oldest has gone missing into an unknown clan much like ourselves. I must find away to right this shadow that has been weaved into an atrocity. The very question I present is how and when?
The other members shall be arriving shortly and I must greet then in my Lady's absence. Perhaps this will be my answer to salvation or even a bigger way of manipulation to figuring a way out of this setting. Till then I shall do as I am told lest the Countess has business elsewhere. Then it is my position to speak and be heard. I am still the elder and will do so accordingly".
Cordially,
Aurora V. Alexandria~ Lasombra Elder
Reading over her writing she nodded then closed the book while placing her quill pen back in the ink. Getting up from the bed she stepped toward a hidden door then opened it quietly. Stepping outside she felt the chill of night prickle along her fur as it nipped across her skin. Her raven tresses streaked with white moved with the breeze as she looked downward to the entrance court. She pursed her lips taking the rose that never dies from behind her ear holding it, "We must not fail. We must be the shadows that proclaim the night. We are Lasombra.... the keepers."

Long, so long had it been since last she came to her haven, the one true home she had found, the only place where those that dared surround her knew and understood that which she was and what she aspired to be. Not that she truly cared for any of them, her kind, their wants or even their jealous glances, they were nothing to her, aside from means to an end. If they were worth her time they knew it. A simple glance, a smile, or brush of the hand against their own. Those were he chosen ones, her 'friends' if that is what they could be called.
She walked through the darkened corridors, her eyes catching what little light threatened the sweet darkness. "My sweet home, how you embrace me with your warmth..sweet haven.." She ran her fingers lightly against the wall, she flicking against one sconce and watching the candlelight flicker. "And yet....I wonder, where is it you hide the others? Where is it you hide those that would be my kin, my blood? I hear not step from them, nor sheltered whisper. Where have to hidden them sweet sanctuary?" She chuckled, her fingers playing at the outline of the shadows, all but cutting them from the walls like one could cut a piece of paper. even now, after all these years it amazed her the way she could control them.

Phoebe looked around her room in the Manse of Lasombra. It was a beautiful room, but she had seen beautiful rooms before. She was probably the only vampire even born in the Goddess of Deceit’s castle but leave it to her mother to do anything and everything she could to go against the nature of what she was. Phoebe got up from the bed and walked over to the bookshelf, to look through the books, running her finger across the spine of each book, wondering where Lucius was. She needed more sleep then he because he was older than her and worrying about meeting the Countess and the tests that she would require Phoebe to pass to become a member of Lasombra was causing her loss of sleep. She had always thought that she did not want to be member of any clan; her father was a member of Toreador. She took out a book and decides to read till he returned.

Aurora sensed movement within the manse rising to her feet as her rose was returned behind her ear once more. Her ear twitched as her pouting lips parted in a short smile. Glancing at the book once more she began stepping lightly like a spirit gliding across the floor. Somewhere in the Manse a harpsichord was playing as if it were coaxing the strong elder to join in a dance. She walked toward the door then paused as her lips parted in an ancient phrase. Then her body turned to black vapor as it twisted and flowed under the locked door. She then reappeared in front, a full form of eloquence and grace. Her gaze flickered toward the huge portrait in strokes of ancient oils of a would be artist who gave his life for the Countess. Lowering her gaze she headed toward the bottom of the manse.
Letting the shadows guide her she followed a stretch corridor till she found the newest member. Once again her lips parted but only enough not to reveal her fangs, "I find it amusing how this dwelling calls us all, does it not?" Idle, yet simple conversation. The elder suspected Countess had found new recruits letting the shadows lead them there. She held her head high addressing the other dismissing the probation her blood has written upon her very undead soul.Lucuis slid in under the hidden door beneath the main hall licking his lips as he grinned with a strangeness. The clan murmured something was wrong with him, or rather he was dropped upon his head still inside his egg. He was in general spiteful and vindictive as must of his bloodline are, yet he was odd. As he strolled up the stairs he paused and entered the kitchen which stored fine china never used, porcelain vases, and of course the mother load of drained victims storage. Reaching in the china cabinet he retrieved two Chardonnay glasses and set them down upon the counter. Then using a little forbidden inherited magic he coaxed a shadow to do his bidding. Once the blood was poured from flask it was returned out of sight. He then grabbed the two glasses and faded to a shadow appearing in his room.
She has left... Good. He bowed in a mock royal manner to his lovely mate he found late one night, then handed her the glass, "My lovely divine fair Phoebe... How radiant thou dost look awaiting my return. Come have a drink with me and tell me your desires of becoming one with us..." His words were twisted yet he was in retrospect on the level with her. Lucuis was the final Van Alexandria blood to have a chance at the position of Neonate. Now he had an even bigger motive with Phoebe at his side. Watching her intently he pulled out of the shadows a red rose that was vibrant and alluring as the one his mother carried. It was eternal as hers was but its beauty couldn't be matched either; the sneaky lil vampire saw to that... personally.

Jehane had been lost in her mind, looking about the hallways, admiring the decor, when she heard that voice behind her, she hardly startling, but more grinning as she turned her head in just the slightest manner, ever the graceful being despite her tomboyish appearance. Her large eyes fell on the woman that approached her, she nodding and turning the full of her body to her. "It does call t us, it is that which is our home, the source of knowledge and power for us all is it not?" She chuckled, her accent was think, deep like a thick molten candy as it rolled off her tongue, English perhaps?
"How rude of me, please do let me be a proper woman and introduce myself. Jehane Chambers, Ma'am..." She lowered her head in a gentle nod, she able to feel the power that the other emitted, it obvious that she was certainly older than herself, but by how much this was the question? "I fear I have brought undo attention to myself with my wanderings, I simply found it less than pleasing to be without a location to be my home...or rather, one that is suiting to those that we are. When news of my....demises...came to my family I fear they banished the thought of me from their minds, the thought of returning to them like this...horrifying.." She chuckled weakly. "For them at least...to see a apparition from the grave at their step, surely their faith would be...shaken.." She smirked.

Aurora watched the other carefully in a deep observation as to Countess having a spy or otherwise. Her deductions couldn't find any ill will so her inhibitions that may of surfaced after a while swirled deeper within.
"Aurora van Alexandria" she responded with a curt nod, "I take it you've heard of me?" she queried hoping it wasn't of the up and coming paparazzi's words against hers. She smiled though in respect to the other, "It is a pleasure to meet you Jehane and I welcome you to the manse..."
"Aramis" she spoke without even a turn of her head.
~*~*~
A tall male vampire froze momentarily then turned on a swiveled foot toward his elder, "Yes Aurora?" he responded with little hesitation as his gaze fell upon Jehane. He smiled genuinely and bowed to the new female, Aramis Le Brousier at your service madam" he nodded standing upward to re-address Aurora.
"The Countess is still at her invitation so all is secure" he spoke smoothly and somehow made contact with both Jehane and his elder. "Shall I show Jehane to her new quarters?" He was smooth and showed no inhibitions in front of the mesmerizing ancient fae. His mind was speaking fluently in the form of release the contact with the elder and learn who the new recruit was.

Jehane smiled as the woman gave her her name, she nodding once and turning a flash of bright magenta eye toward the male that seemed to appear from the darkness behind her. She knew all to well the secrets that the shadows kept, but never once had she thought those secrets so alluring. "It is a pleasure to be welcomed as I am, madame Van Alexandria. I do say i have heard whispers of you, legends of this house and it's inhabitants. I fear my sire abit of a....eccentric fool. he warned me away from this house...the politics of the world, this was only days before he tossed himself to the light...pity that..." She smirked darkly, her eyes flicking to the male once more, Aramis had he been called? "I would be most pleased to be escorted, sir...though I fear madame Van Alexandria may have need of you?" She hated to be too out-front, too assuming with the other, but all the same she did not wish to come off as some weak fledgling, she surely was not.

Phoebe had stood up when Lucius appeared in the room, smiling as she took first the glass and then the rose, he handed her, “Thank you, my love.” She sipped from the glass, thinking about his request. “Who would not want to be a member of the greatest clan? And with my loyalty first to you and then to the clan, your power is stronger. “She buried her nose in the rose, enjoying its beauty and the lovely smell. Phoebe finished drinking from the glass and sat it down on the table by the sofa then turned to her love, hoping he would be open to what she had to say, “My love, I know that we’ve not been together long and you have plans that will take some time but I would like to be a mother. I think that if we were to have children now that as you raise in power, then having three who are loyal to you will be a benefit not a liability. And the Countess will see that we are trying to increase the numbers of our clan. ” She waited patiently to see what his answer would be.

Introductions were essential but Aurora had plans for the newcomer to the manse. Aramis was another one she'd induct into business as elders are required to follow.
"No Aramis. I'd like you and Jehanne to follow me. The clan must resume to our practices before the Countess's return." she murmured as her feet turned turned with a hardly a sound. Making her way she lead them to the grand dining hall opening the ancient mahogany doors. The lighted glow of the atmosphere left much to be imagined but she was used to this quick feeling that washed over her lying eyes upon something ancient yet fully restored. Taking a set to the left of the table she waved a paw and grabbed a folder along with a briefcase. It was time to get down to business.
Aramis froze and nodded to his elder. The thing that glazed his mind was wonderment of what the elder had in store for him and... Jehanne. He looked at her for a moment then followed after Aurora. This sudden change of interest or rather business seemed strange for off hours as they were. Something was odd to him but he was eager to find out. It had been ages since the clan had gotten active like it was starting to.
Reaching those doors he in took a breath feeling the elegance of ancient Lasombra coursing this room. Red velvet chairs molded from brass felt so eloquent beneath him as he seated himself. Now he waited for Jehanne to do the same.

Jehane herself was rather startled by the sudden change of plans. Though all the same she nodded her head, she gathering herself up in a proper manner before nodding and following along behind the elder of her clan. She could not stop herself, however, from passing side long glances at the male that walked at her side. He was soft-spoken, careful, she wondered what it was that had caused him to be so cautious in the past. For no one was born that was so guarded. She walked down the halls, every now and then having to remove a low hanging cobweb from her attire, her pink eyes looking about the rooms but never one deviating her from her course. It was once they entered the dining hall that she stopped, she grinning at the ancient furnishings, the smell of old knowledge and money making her grin. "It is a lovely assembly of things that are here, Madame Alexandra..." She moved to claim a seat across for the woman, she sliding with a grace onto the velvet cushion. "Business...you speak of true business, or that of the figurative term?" She looked at the paperwork, she knowing all too well what such papers meant.

"Right then" the elder spoke with a strict sense of responsibility as she organized her papers. Her eyes gazed upon Jehanne with much intensity yet her features never wavered nor showed any emotion.
"Jehanne you have been summoned here by the Countess for a very simple reason. You are quite knowledgeable in certain proceedings among other things. You've come with a message which I have sense you'll tell to us and our records. Rumors are surfacing from the shadows and I know them to be true".
She then took parchment that had been written in the finest crimson ink placing it before both of her listeners, "Brothers and Sisters of the Sabat we are the keepers. It is our job to practice such rites and uphold to the clan" she paused momentarily then resumed, "You both are going to become Head of our Business operations affirming anything you learn will be relayed quickly as it is created or spoken. It is time to recruit Brother and Sister. But do be forewarned that we only seek those that are strong even after they are broken. There is no room for careless assumptions. The shadows know whom they seek not vice versa. Remember its power and manipulation. That is how we wield above the others." She then quieted and remained merely a vessel with alluring dominant eyes waiting for a response from the both of them.
It was time the Shadows took the reigns for they slept so long with the downfall of Cameron's expense.
~*~*~*~
Aramis was miffed yet skeptical at what was unfolding in front of him. This room had gathered dust yet it looked quite clean for its emptiness in spite of what he knew. His eyes flickered looking at the parchment as they also stayed trained upon the elder. Her words were quite serious as were the parchment. Momentarily he pondered to himself if her business sense was merely a play on buttering up to the Countess. He'd never state really that Countess has one screw loose too many. It wasn't Aurora's fault that her children followed their own selfish ways. The one that irked him was Lucuis who in Aramis eyes was the "biggest kiss a**" of the clan. He was simply out for his own gain even with children on the way. Lucuis would always be a Hound of Hell in the body of a vampire.
The young male then looked upon the parched ink fully, "Business Operations" he queried with a raised brow, then he listened to her fully. Finally he understood what was needed of him, that being the sheep intake to the slaughter. If of course they had qualifications as she had stated he'd see their potential. Standing up he moved her chair back and nodded, "Then we should get started on such arrangements... Shouldn't we Jehanne?" His eyes flickered with an accompanying smile. Indeed this was a way to raise in rank and leave that little "Hell Hound" where he belonged; in the shadows.

Jehane sat there for a good long while, her watching the other woman as she spoke, watched as the papers were shuffled and moved about the table, the red writing catching her eye. A message she had said...had she come with a message? She lowered her eyes for only a moment, thought moving through her mind. She was young, this was a true fact, but she was older than some, and more than likely older than the man that sat at her side.
Recruiting, the clan needed fresh blood, someone, anyone to breathe life back into the withering bones of Lasombra, to give the unforgiving shadows life once more. She knew the streets, knew the world of Faetasia and those the lived there, what they were, what was needed of them to bring strength to the manse, to their home and their calling. "I will do that which is expected of me. There are man that I know...that I can bring in...that have the skills of which we seek and I think I know the perfect backdrop for this cunning game..."
She turned her eyes toward the man, toward Aramis, her own alight with good humor. This is not what she had expected, but it was certainly the better option. "We will set to the arrangements...yes....and from there on in will will bring those we deem worthy to meet those that can make the ultimate choice.." She grinned, one small fang showing in the candle light. "Madame Alexandria...this opportunity is certainly more than was expected, and I am certain we will do what we can to live up to the expectations."

Aurora watched Jehanne with an interested gaze for she held potential. It was a matter of business of course that deliberated her path be it Fareth's place or alongside Sara's son. The clan was set upon a business stability so adhering to the rules and following suit was the key to survival and lingering past being broken. Those inducted through blood usually had an easier grip then those freshly made. For one that desires the sun would wither and burn in the suffocation of the shadows themselves.
Clearing her throat she spoke allowed, "Shadow give Isadora my message that Lasombra has risen once more. We shall step back upon the velvet masses once more and stand out among the darkness other clans have placed us within. She smiled in spite of herself because the clan was what Isadora lived and died for. There was no foolish games nor was there reasons to falter and become a stain in the clan's eyes.
There then came a tiny little giggle as a creature poked it's head out of the shadows nearest to the elder. Fluttering its tiny wings the small familiar swirled into to front somersaults and flew about slowly upon her back. A smile graced its tiny face flying in front of Jehanne and Aramis as it got a better look at them. Engraving memories was its specialty as was being a perfect companion to oversee things following procedure. Giggling with a devilish little grin it swirled in a circle and vanished without a trace into the shadows; a tiny echo of a giggle lingering softly behind it.
Aurora nodded to the two younger Lasombra then stood upward as she pushed her chair inward with a small scoot, "Always remember childe that the manse has eyes and ears from the shadows. The Countess knows everything even when you suspect she doesn't. I will leave this business to you both now. Feel free to discuss your layout etc. An office will of course be set up and furnished for you", she paused as her eyes set upon them both in a dead-locked state, "Do not fail me." She then took her leave leaving the younger Lasombra to their proceedings. It was these very two that remained light in the shadows to finally achieve a goal lost ages ago in a murmur of bad tidings. If they failed her in recruiting new blood.... then Lasombra would surely crash down and burn like the rest of the lethargic clans that upheld a title.
~*~*~*~*~
Aramis was not at one bit surprised that Shadow had been lurking in the shadows. He normally avoided Isadora but he knew of the Manse having such keen vigils on its inhabitants. Shadow was of course taking a message back to the DoC as she usually did. It was a nice little technique to keep watch over things at the Manse while pursuing her own objectives. His steely aloof gaze met with the piercing one of Auroara's knowing her last words were not in the least bit a folly but actuality on the clan's welfare. He stepped from his chair and bowed to his elder, "We will not fail you Aurora. You have my word."
The darker furred male was saying quite a lot in that statement but he put his life up for the clan when the others neglected to. He was angry the others deserted their loyalty for foolish futures. Lately it had been only himself and that Hell Hound Lucuis, then Phobe came to live with her dog. Aramis was still perplexed how she chose such an ignorant little b*****d. But that was her own grave or bloodhunt she was settling upon. No matter it wasn't Aramis concern unless the little Hound were to mess up and follow Dante into a little cesspit of betrayal.
Watching the elder take her leave he returned his gaze to Jehanne, "Where shall we begin?" he asked causally though it was very much business oriented.

Jehane listened as each new word was said, she taking them in, taking each lesson as it came to her, she grinning at the sight of the eyes and ears of the manse. So it was true, the shadows truly did hold the darkest secrets, and all them ore reason for her to keep her thoughts and actions to herself. There had been whispers, of yes, and she had seen those whispers come to light, but all the same, the darkness could hold them abit longer, such was the goal now to appease her elder, bring forth the might and grandeur of clan Lasombra and once more have it the mighty power it had once been.
As the male at her side gave his flourish, she grinned, to makes such promises were suicide unless one was certain they could pull through. But all the same she lowered her head, she moving to a knee and smiling. "I pledge my death, life and service to Lasombra, and I will do what is needed to bring her back to us in the full scale that is needed, elder, Aurora...if it pleases you I would bring one hundred fold to our doors, every last one worthy of the name and the power we grant them." She smirked, turning her eyes to Aramis. He could make promises, she would make a vow. "On my life...I will not fail.."
She turned then, looking to the man at her side. "We make our plans, move forward with them and bring those worthy to our elder for consult. Only the best will be brought. I will not have some slum-dog from the streets defiling the manse with dirt and grime.." She smirked deviously.
