Her face began to redden at the hellhound's close proximity, but she knew that--unlike the guys her uncle had warned her about--that it was an innocent gesture. He was trying to...er, what was it again? "Put a move" on her? Something like that, anyways. The Baku never claimed to be well-versed in slang.
Xiu jumped when the boil suddenly jerked upright, her eyes widening. She hadn't caught Regal's little "attack", so she was left puzzled and concerned. "I...um...a-are you alright, Demi?" When he addressed the Scruffle, she turned to look at him curiously, tilting her head to the side. What had he done?
She was quickly distracted by Demi's apology, and a small smile spread over her face as she shook her head quickly. "No no, don't apologize! I know what it's like to get little sleep. If you need to take a nap, you should do so!" It looked like she had come to her own conclusion as to why the boil suddenly passed out like that. Humming thoughtfully, she began to rise onto her feet. "Will you need a blanket? It's not too chilly out right now, but..."

The ground didn't want to comply to his request. He was still there, feeling just as foolish as ever. "Me? Fine fine, perfectly fine!" he blurted out before he even realized it. Jacking Regal just had to put his nose into it, and looking so smug about it. He gave the mini a tiny glare and made sure he knew that it was not over.
They had far too much freedom.
Damien barely had the self control to hold back his snicker, if only she knew how much sleep he got. "Uh yeah, I should do that." he replied back, draining every bit of sarcasm out of his voice as he could. he didn't want this encounter to end, and sprang to his feet full of vigor. "No I'm fine, I don't mind the chilly air. What about you, won't you feel cold?" he asked after awhile.
The panic that ran down his spine over her health and comfort intensified with every breath and thought. "Should I run upstairs and get you a cover, or make some tea?" the hound replied back hastily, already prepped to bound up the stairs and get whatever she required.
Regal and Tsar on the other hand, chewed on their toys happily, enjoying how the ghoul had him doing tricks for her amusement.

Eyes widening, Xiu immediately reached out to take his hand and try to pull him back down into a sitting position. "D-demi, don't worry about it! I'm fine!" She couldn't help but laugh at the alarm that had been written over the boil's face. "It's not too chilly out! I was just worried that it would get colder if you slept out here." Sure, it wasn't too bad now, but in a couple of hours? She was certain that the temperature would have dropped by then.
"Why don't you eat a little more? You three didn't eat anything before, right?" She motioned to the cupcake box, hoping that Demi would allow himself to relax. Besides, it was nice sitting out here and chatting with a friend, wasn't it? So long as he didn't mind the company, then perhaps they could chat for a while longer.
Ah! And since it came up in her mind..."How was your side after prom night?" The Baku smiled, reaching out to poke him, "You ran into a table, right?" Her smile faltered at the memory, but she had to admit that...well, on the bright side? She had been able to sit down and have a nice chat with Demi, Levi, Vaith, and Marzena right after that.
...Sigh. It had been a fun night.

It didn't take too much effort for Xiu to put Demi in a sitting position. those canine instincts. But the laugh that came from Xiu just made it all worth it. "Alright, if you say so and we don't have to worry about blankets, we have two right there." he said pointing over to the mutts chewing on their toys.
Regal and Tsar just cocked their heads at the hellhound and his idea in confusion, even looking behind them to see what he was pointing at.
but he took a hold of one of the pastries and held it up to the baku's face. "You take a bite first then Xiu, I insist." She was far too sweet and honestly, he couldn't find it in his heart to eat something by himself in front of company.
Damien felt his side throb in mock pain at the reminder of his rough meeting with that table. "Yeah, the table had some lame pick up lines and tried to get physical with me." he said with a wistful sigh. That little injury helped him get some more time to learn about Xiu.
It was the best stationary wingman ever, better than Roch was that night. "i can't believe you still remember that Xiu, with all that happened that day." he said with a lazy drawl and stretched out on the now cooler grass next to the dainty student. She was a sharp one, figures she would be good at photography.

Grinning, Xiu turned to regard the two "blankets" reaching out to pet both of them again. "And very cute blankets that are." Hmm...perhaps she would have to get a canine mini at some point as well! Sure, Arashi wouldn't be very happy, but...just look at them! She wanted a puppy of her own!
When he held up one of the cupcakes, the ghoul smiled sheepishly and then glanced around for the fork. "A-a small slice, then!" It wouldn't be very polite of her to actually take a bite out of Demi's cupcake, would it? She was raised to be a lady, so there were a number of morals and lessons that had been drilled into her head at a young age.
...Granted that she had already ignored about half of them by trying to befriend everyone she came across instead of being selective based on wealth and reputation.
Smiling at his comment, the Baku simply shook her head, sighing at the memory. She had been a little panicked to see a fellow classmate run into a table like that, so it had come as a relief to discover that he was alright after. To think that that was how their friendship started--with Demi running into a table.
"Hmm?" Eyes widening, she cocked her head to the side, "Why wouldn't I remember that? To be honest, I don't think I'll ever forget the events of that night. My first prom...and it was a lot of fun." And oh, the pictures she had taken...! They would definitely be going into the yearbook if she had anything to say about it!

Regal and Tsar still had no idea what their humanoid owner was talking about, but they eagerly accepted the pets from the Baku and moved closer like some kind of furry barricade against the cold air. Lucky mini's.
Damien flicked his ears and put the little cupcake onto a napkin for the ghoul. "Go on, live a little, you don't have to be so formal with me." he assured her, taking a small bite out of another cupcake and savoring the taste. "I think you found out my favorite flavor, I get a kind of minty taste from this one." He cried out eagerly, pointing at the dainty pastry in amusement. Oh how it tasted so good!
He wanted to do nothing more than wolf the cupcake down and flop over on his back in satisfaction, but there was a ghoul present, so tiny careful bites would have to do. After the second bite, his eyes caught sight of the icing that decided to linger on his nose. "I''m such a pig demon." he said with a grin and tried to lick the bit away, eyebrows furrowed into the action.
"Well it was a rather magical night, glad that I decided to go at the last minute, well my ribs weren't glad but the rest of my body was." he said simply before continuing. "There's always the next one, more chances for pictures and injuries!"

Grinning sheepishly, she reached out to take the cupcake and napkin with a little half-bow of her head. "T-thank you. I think that's kind of how I was brought up." She added, referring to the part about her being formal. Oh, how her parents would panic and rage if they knew that Levi had been teaching her self-defense. It wasn't very ladylike. The thought made the Baku make a face, and then she nibbled at the cupcake happily. How glad she was that these turned out!
"Oh! Is that your favourite flavour?" She lowered her own cupcake for a moment to peek at the one Demi had chosen. Hmmm, she would have to make a note of this! "I can make you a batch of them sometime, if you'd like? I usually bake at least once a week, so..." Xiu was running out of things to bake anyways, so it would be nice to have someone to bake for...
Grinning, she suppressed a giggle as she reached out with her napkin and wiped the bit of icing off of Demi's nose. "W-well...it makes me happy that you enjoy the cupcakes!" Her tail gave a little wag, and then she laughed at the memories of prom. "Mmm, well...I'd love to take more pictures, but as for injuries...be careful next time, okay?"

Demi bowed back, mimicking the movement Xiu made. "Its no problem, we are who we are." he said with a smile on his face. he didn't want to go through the motions of a proper greeting among nobility, even if he had the training for it. She didn't seem like the kind of ghoul who evaluated that kind of stuff about the person in his eyes, and he would rather be himself around her, not the charming perfect mirage he was schooled to master.
"Well, yes. I always had a weakness to mint." he explained with a blush, it was actually the first candy he ever ate before. Albeit the chocolate coating made him sick directly afterwards, but the minty part was fantastic. "But no no, you don't have to go out of your way for me!" he cried out, sputtering like a fool at her sweet offer for sweets. She was just too precious for words.
Even when Xiu took helped him remove the bit of icing from his nose, Damien felt his cheeks flush yet again in embarrassment and focused on the minty cupcake in his hands, at not at her face. "I- .... I'm glad to hear that" he spoke quietly to her, afraid to ruin the peaceful moment between them, now that regal and Tsar managed to drift off into dreamland for a while.
Now it really was just the two of them.

The Baku couldn't help but grin at Demi's words. Yes, they were who they were, and Xiu was happy for that. There was no awkwardness here between her friends. Not between herself and Lizzy, Mitsu, or Demi.
At least, she didn't perceive any potential awkwardness between herself and Demi.
"It wouldn't be any trouble!" Xiu insisted, trying to hide a grin behind her hand at his reaction, "Really! I'd love to bake for you sometime. So...mint? Are there any other flavours that you like? Or dislike?" She had to admit that she was particularly interested in the latter. The last thing she wanted to do was make something that completely disgusted her friends, or made them sick--oops. Chocolate. Canines. She knew that Mitsu tended to get sick after having some--was it the same for Demi?
Nothing that the minis had dozed off, Xiu lowered her voice to a softer volume. She didn't want to wake them up, after all. "Though next time at prom, you should dance!" There was a pause, and then she grinned, "I...I'd love to see you dance with Levi. She's amazing!" That, and they were close friends, right?

Damien pouted as Xiu got a little chuckle from his awkwardness. "Well If you say so." he said reluctantly, far be it from him to argue with the ghoul. If she wanted to bake, he sure as Jack wasn't going to stand in the way.
Homemade cupcakes from Xiu at random times in the month..... it was some kind of gourmet Halloween heaven.
He took another bite of the cupcake he was nursing and set out to chew in contemplation over Xiu's question. "Chocolate is pretty bad to me and the mini's, but other than that we're good when it comes to flavors." the last thing he wanted to remember was the stomachache he got as a scareling with his first piece of chocolate. In retrospect, he should have listened to his elders about not eating it, but he just haaaad to try.
"Wait wait, dance with who? Levi?" he sputtered out in confusion. "No way, she'll try to make me dance with her tail." he chuckled heartily at the concept. Xiu was such a kidder.

Oops. So the chocolate thing did extend to all canines. Looking a little sheepish now, she gestured towards the cupcakes, her expression apologetic. "S-sorry, I should have known better. Um...I'll be sure to replace the chocolate with something else when I make the minty cupcakes for you next time." At least she now knew to avoid chocolate altogether when giving gifts to certain friends. Hopefully the minis and Demi weren't too sick! The Baku would certainly feel terrible if they fell ill because of her.
Obvious to his confusion, Xiu began to nod enthusiastically. "Yes, Levi!" The very same Levi that Demi was clearly thinking about. Smiling, she continued, "You saw her that evening, didn't you? She's an amazing dancer. Perhaps someday, I'll...." She trailed off with a wistful sigh. Someday she would be as talented at dancing as the Tatzel was.
...Well, she could hope, at least.
"She's been teaching me self defense!" Xiu suddenly piped up happily, her tail waving behind her, "She's almost like...a big sister. You two are close too, aren't you?"

Oh he knew he was going to pay for it tomorrow morning, maybe even later that night as would Regal and Tsar. But it was all worth it in Demi's eyes. "Its no biggie, a lesson learned and its a chance to make something even better."he said in an encouraging tone, taking another bullet to his stomach when the hell-hound took another bite out of the delicious pastry.
If the chocolate wasn't ready to spoil his stomach, the talk of Levi was as he strained his face into a grin. "Oh Levi, yeah shes was........ she was something that night." he trailed off remembering the tatzel and her anger over him technically skipping out on her. "Did you want to be prom princess Xiu?" he asked, unsure of what she sighed over. He never expected the timid ghoul to want to that noble title and be in the spotlight.
"Uh yeah, we're close, like a dog and his chew toy." he laughed heartily, wishing such a process could keep the white haired pain quiet. "Oh Self defense? Do tell." he practically purred out and stretched out on the drying grass.

...Prom princess? Xiu's face immediately turned a bright shade of red as she shook her head furiously. "N-no! I-I just...I mean...L-levi is an amazing dancer!" The role of being one of the elected prom royals was indeed not the type of thing that the typically-quiet ghoul would aim for. It was a little too...exciting for her? Perhaps embarrassing too--just the idea of all those eyes looking up at her made her shrink with fear.
No, she was happy for Levi that she and Mot had won Prom princess and prince. Though she was not envious for their win, she certainly wished that she was as talented of a dancer as the two of them. Maybe if she practiced a lot before next year's prom, she would be a little more elegant on her feet?
"Oh?" Her eyes widened slightly as Demi described his relationship to the tatzel. They had seemed quite friendly and close to her! Had she misjudged them, then? Before she could ask, the topic turned back to her self-defense lessons, and the little Baku's eyes lit up. "Yes! She taught me how to knock people off balance, and how to duck..."
Tail wagging, she hovered over Demi with excitement, "I also learned how to pin people down!"

How to pin people down.......................
"Wha.....wha why are you standing like that Xiu?" he asked in concern. Jackdammit, he knew her taking lessons from the Tatzel wasn't a good thing right from the get go. As he tried to scamper away backwards, thumping into a tree in all its branchy glory. "Eeep!" he squeaked out, his ears alert with all the panic bubbling in his chest.
"Think of the cupcakes!" he cried out for.... honestly he wasn't sure how that was going to save him from the blood loss that he was sure was going to happen.

The cupcakes she wasn't worried about--after all, she could always make him more--but as for Demi's wellbeing...
If she was really, really careful, it should be fine if she showed him, right? She didn't want to hurt him, after all! Grinning, Xiu didn't answer as she wagged her tail, going through the steps in her head. Well, Demi was already lying down, so all she had to do was...pounce, she supposed! So pounce she did.
Only not really. Since she wasn't really trying to hurt him, the Baku was very careful not to throw all of her weight on him at once. At the last moment, she carefully straddled his thighs as she had been taught, her tail wagging happily all the while. "I had to practice this move a lot before I managed to...um, kind of perfect it!" And how proud she was of this fact.
The indecency of the whole situation had yet to hit her. Instead, she was beaming like a little puppy wanting to be praised.
