Up in Asclepius' hands ********* went. She squirmed a bit because she still wanted to try a bit more of the mushrooms. Quite the opposite of the request, all of the fuss caused the small feline to swallow the mushroom bits in her mouth instead. ********* noted after the fact that her mouth was not tingling, so that meant swallowing the mushrooms was fine, right?
It wasn't an immediate reaction, but as the guardian remained tucked away in the elder senshi's arms, her eyes began to dilate quite a bit. It wasn't quite like that one time when she tried the catnip. No, that one made her way too giggly and talkative for her own good. The feline almost seemed to try to shrink up against Asclepius' body, but peered out ever so slightly. She almost seemed to completely cut out of the conversation. It probably had something to do with all of the words running into each other and making an absolute mess in her head.

Brothers made sense, for Castor and Pollux; Asclepius had been inclined to wonder if perhaps they were not, just to subvert mythology. After all, Asclepius the Greek god had been a man. The senshi had gathered that the man partially carved in the alcove beside the door through which they had passed had been her predecessor, but that did little to explain why she had been awakened next. Other than that she was a doctor. She thought sex might be more important than profession; Marcella could have been any number of things other than a medical student, if not for the crazy turn her life had taken.
Unless that was fate.
Asclepius scoffed at the idea, and joined Hygiea in exploring the mushrooms. The glow, indeed, remained, at least for the moment, the senshi of medicine observed as she peered at the bit the chibi senshi had taken. She was not sure if it would still be glowing in a few days' time, but for the moment, it continued to emit its soft light. Hygiea's piece would not hold a candle to the flashlight, metaphorically speaking, but the net result of all of the glowing mushrooms in the twisting hallway meant that their surroundings were fairly well-lit for the moment.
She jumped slightly as ********* jumped to her, and wrapped her arms quickly but not quite gently around the cat, to keep her from falling. Arching an eyebrow, she studied the guardian, then sighed and smiled wryly as ********* eyes dilated and she appeared to check out for the moment. "At least this way, I can keep you from eating more," she murmured, adjusting her hold in hopes of making the cat more comfortable.
"I wonder if we could use these to light up the main hall," Asclepius then wondered aloud. "Break off one whole cap and set it upside-down in one of the braziers, and see how much it lights up." The piece she held felt soft in her grip to a point, but still firm enough to keep its shape. Sort of like maybe an oyster mushroom on a grand scale. She paced around the base of the one she and the chibi senshi had sampled, leaning down to observe underneath its cap.
"Do you think we could pop the whole top off of one?" she asked Hygiea. "One of the ones your height, maybe, if not one of the bigger ones. How hard was your piece to break?"

"The whole thing?" Hygiea questioned the older senshi as she looked from her small chunk to the rest of the glowing mushroom. She couldn't help but frown for a moment, in thought, if it was actually possible. "I guess we could try right? This little piece," eh held it up, "was a little hard but I think we could get a whole one, right?" Had to be at least a little optimistic, right?
The little senshi smiled up at the brown haired girl. It would be neat to go explore the rest of the place, and light seemed to be needed. She couldn't be for sure really, having never been here but this was Asclepius' place and the other senshi had to know her own place and stuff, right?
"-wait.." She realized, worry in her eyes, "what's wrong with *********?" Was this from the mushroom she ate? Mushrooms didn't always do this right? True, she didn't like how they tasted but did they do bad stuff like this?

The scolding that the guardian received from Asclepius did not really seem to change anything. In all honesty, the feline just seemed ridiculously scared at the moment, wide eyes trying to take everything in, but that was about it. The voices did seem to almost blend together, merging into almost a continuous sound. There was no differentiation between the child's voice and the young adult's.
And all ********* could do to voice how she was feeling was mewl out in a pathetic manner. She couldn't even find the words at the moment.

Asclepius opened her mouth to reply to the chibi senshi's question, but hesitated a moment as she wondered exactly how to word it. She was never sure how much young children would understand ... especially since her parents had trouble understanding some of what she tried to explain to them from her field.
She settled on, "I think the mushrooms are making her feel funny." The Senshi of Medicine, glanced down at the cat in her arms and frowned with concern, chewing her lip momentarily before adding, "Kind of like how you feel weird when you eat a lot of sugar, but it ... looks like a different kind of weird."
Perhaps it might not be best for them to remain here with ********* in her current state. Asclepius was reluctant to put the cat down for fear ********* might run off somewhere; the senshi realized she was not sure that ********* would be able to return from the planet to Earth without her help.
"Maybe we should take ********* home," she told the younger senshi. "She- she won't have as much fun adventuring if she's not feeling well." For all the energy Asclepius had spent to bring the three of them here, she really did not want to leave so soon, but ... ********* did not look so great. She offered Hygiea a sympathetic look. "Maybe we can try adventuring some other time? With a bigger light, maybe, and then we can try getting a mushroom cap off."

Hygiea wasn't liking the look in ********* wide eyes or that pathetic little meow. She frowned even as Asclepius gave an explanation to what could possibly be going on with the cat. "I guess its pretty strong, huh? I don't even think I've seen my cat be this... sick?" Was that the right word really, "when she eats something weird."
The little girl then made a face, recalling something else Priss did when she got sick. "Is she going to throw up? It's totally gross when cats throw up." Even so, the older girl had a point. ********* had gotten sick during this trip and perhaps it was time to go home. Hygiea slowly placed her hand on the top of ********* head and scratched her gently behind the ears in a small attempt at comforting her.
"Yeah, when ********* is all better we can explore some more!" She smiled up at Asclepius before turning her attention back to the cat. "And we'll get the mushroom off and make sure ********* doesn't eat anything weird again, though I don't think she will since she ate something this time and got sick and all." Hygiea was up for it, always up for it. Exploring was fun, even when weird things like this happened.

Asclepius gave the cat another wary look, glad enough that the senshi uniform appeared to clean itself after each time she powered down. She would never say that she enjoyed being thrown up on, but she was at least used to some of the body's fouler reactions, having worked so long at the hospital. Having never owned a cat, though, she was decidedly less experienced at dealing with cat throw-up.
"I suspect she will, if her body doesn't like those mushrooms," she conceded, a faint smile touching her lips regardless as the little girl reached up to pet the cat gently. "But yeah, ********* will have more fun exploring with us next time."
The senshi of medicine dearly hoped her guardian would not try to eat any more mushrooms. Or, if they ran into other unfamiliar plants as she suspected they might in a hospital planet, she hoped ********* would not feel compelled to sample those, as well. Cats could usually stomach more than people could, at least.
Cradling the cat carefully, she broke off a few glowing pieces of mushroom and held onto them (where ********* could not reach) and started to turn back. "Maybe the next time I am not busy, I can send you a phone message and we can continue the adventure. How does that sound?"
