Another one. This one didn't have...horns or anything. Just a kid with purple hair. This was Halloweenland, wasn't it?
"Uh, yeah, she did," he said, checking his coat to make sure there weren't any nametags. Using his real name probably wasn't the best plan either, since it wasn't like he would be using this golem again. What was a douchebag doctor name.
"...Jacques." He paused, then added a reluctant, "Hi," still gripping the stethoscope. He regarded the hand suspiciously.
Mission, he had a mission to do. "...Hey, either of you seen a stray minipet running around? Mine's missing.""

"Nah, not really, but those guys are everywhere," Roch said with a shrug. "What type is it? I'll keep an eye out for you, if you want." He could really go for a taco, he thought. He'd been cutting back on his eating lately, but one taco wouldn't kill him! Maybe a bigchoke of pop, yeah... or he could hit the maul--there was that all you could eat place for sushi! Oooh, sushi!
"Or have you checked the closet?" he asked, going back to the subject at hand. "My pets usually come and go all the time that way."

"Yeah, see, that's the problem. My friend sent me it as a surprise, but the only surprise was that the box was empty. So you got about the same idea as me for what it is. But I figure it's around here somewhere."
Checking the closet seemed like a relatively mundane suggestion of places to look for a lost pet, except the last sentence. Come and go? That way? A closet was a small space, not a way.
"The closet? Why, what's in there?"

It was hard for someone with such large ears to not overhear something going on. Even as she was headed through the school building to go on her own merry little way, the second year noticed a meeting of..well.. it seemed to be quite the group of people, actually. However, one of them seemed to be an undead student that she hadn't met yet. The Pricolici just couldn't have that.
And a missing minipet?
What better use for her nose than that? She'd just hit up all these new people and show them what a capable nice person she was.... plus she had to correct the 'hi, Undead I haven't met yet', issue that seemed to be going on.
"Missing minipet?" Shehk said, ears held alertly as she approached the trio. "I agree, the closet might be a good spot for it to have gone off to if you were in your dorm at the time and had it open. It could have just vanished into the subspace." she commented, one hand scratching the stapling at the base of her ear habitually. There was a pause.
"I'm Shehk, by the way." she introduced to Danny and... 'Jacques'. She just offered a wave to Roch. "Hope the spookies treated you well. You seem to be doing well."
Now that I'm not doing vaults off of your shoulders.
"Box was empty, huh? No... 'trace' of anything? No fur or slime or anything like that? No scratches?" Her brain was definitely looking for a possible answer to things... since the answer her brain had been looking for in the note of the 'Hi, smells like earth' had already been answered with 'hi, Undead'. Perhaps that was fortunate.

Roch stared at him blankly for a long moment, a frown pulling at his lips as he tried to come up with a logical reason for this new guy to NOT know about the closet. That was--that was like not knowing how to put clothes on--wait. This was a zombie, right? Maybe he had just been reanimated recently?
"The closet?" Roch repeated. "It leads to where the minipets live. Your minipet might have gone there. But if it was a gift, you should probably ask the person who gave it to you what it was," he finished with a shrug. "Then when you see one that doesn't seem to know where it is, you've probably found it."

Subspace, where minipets live. Did HQ know that? And if they did, what were they pissing around in...regular space for?
Harrison shrugged.
"Just...empty? He was really insistent on the surprise part. And...right, closet. I guess it could have gotten in there."
Danny, Roch, Shehk. The new one looked a little more like he would expect. She had big...cat ears? and her face looked stapled on. Just get used to it. Don't stare. Your skin is green. Don't stare.
He looked at his toes instead.
"Hey uh, thanks, all you guys. I don't have too many friends here yet and I didn't expect all this help."

He'd actually been just trying to keep Danny from assaulting the new guy for his shiny, Roch thought dryly. "Hey Shehk, I dunno how the spookies are treating me anymore, I think I need some new ones to check again," he said with a grin.
"Jack, you can always just go find another one. We have a place where you can trap them, y'know? I followed this big horse guy out into the woods one day to check his traps, he'd caught a ton of these star things." He'd already forgotten the guy's name. Smart, Roch. You're so polite.

Danny gave Roch a pouty look. "I did introduce myself! I'm not stupid." Oxymoron of the century. Briskly, she knocked Roch's hand off her shoulder. Stupid Roch.
At Shehk's arrival, Danny offered a wave and a chipper smile. Another puppy! Just how many doggies did this school have? Well she looked rather ... dead. Much less alive than Demi did. Maybe she was undead? The stitches sort of confirmed the fact. Danny didn't really feel the need to introduce herself- after all, they had all said her name about eighty times already.
Honestly, Danny had already forgotten about the stethoscope in her excitement to meet new people. She would probably glance down at his chest and remember it all over again, but for now she was very focused on his poor missing minipet.
The fire ghoul listened to Jacques' tale of woe rather adamantly. A missing surprise minipet was just ... horrible. Danny couldn't imagine losing Ignis or G. Then he said he had no friends! That was just too sad! "Don't worry Jacques. We'll find your minipets. And lots of friends. LOTS of friends!!" she said very seriously. Adding on to that, she said, "Roch and I will be your first friends!" She threw an arm around the reaper boil's shoulder, and then one over the new undead boil's shoulder. Best friends. BEST FRIENDS.
Into Roch's ear she whispered, "If you get spookies, you're so sharing."

"Woah, hey, tail..." he said, leaning away even as Danny pulled him into the approximation of a group hug.
At the assertation that they were now best friends forever and that she could find him more friends he only said,
"G-great."
Roch's proposal sounded a lot better.
"A place to catch them? ...Could you...I mean, if you didn't mind, or weren't busy, or anything..."

Shehk grinned - a sight which was somewhat horrifying on it's own, as her canines were all both longer and sharper than they should have been - they were clearly meant to pierce the skin.... and probably of the neck. The neck was a common target for hunting wolves as was. Shehk just went for blood instead of suffocation.
"I'll have to hook you up with some more sometime then." she commented in Roch's direction, before nodding at his suggestion. "Definitely. That... 'scarefari' place is definitely a valid place to catch something if you're looking to replace the lost minipet." she nodded, scratching the staples on her face again, one hand on her hip.
"I'm surprised anything could have gotten out of a box before you opened it......" her voice trailed off for a moment before an 'AHA!' look came over the Pricolici's face, her eye-glow flashing to an almost blinding brightness before dimming again. "It must have been a ghost type of minipet!"

Roch jerked at the mention of "ghost" pulling out of Danny's hold. "Actually, y'know, since you two are here to show him around I can go to the cafeteria--it's taco day!" he said, taking another step back. "Have fun!"
He was NOT going ghost hunting, minipet or not!

Danny swung around behind Roch and began pushing him from the backside. It was like trying to move a ... well a rock (jackdamn I am funny), though because he seemed rather hurried to go towards the cafeteria. "I'll make you tacos later dumbass. We're helping him," she urged harshly.
Still, Shehk seemed to jump to conclusions didn't she? "It could've been a fiery thing couldn't it? Cardboard boxes are pretty easy to escape out of you know." Nevermind that the box would've shown signs of burn marks or something- Danny was just going straight for an option that kept Roch from instantly running away like a little sissy. Just because the word ghost was mentioned, it was like he totally tapped out of the conversation.
Danny did approve of Shehk's idea though. "Ooh scarefari! Scarefari! We should go there I bet we can find tons of minipets!"
To Roch she whispered, "What's a scarefari?

"It's also possible it coulda been a Fogdog. Those could....feasibly just 'sift' through the cracks in the box? 'cause they're fog...." Shehk huffed a bit and a puff of fog (it almost looked like smoke) came out of her nose. It was..an interesting sight for anybody who hadn't seen it...which was near everybody. It wasn't her fault she walked around exhaling fog. "So there are options all around." Shehk nodded, though she did have to raise a brow at Roch's 'CLEAR THE AREA' response to her first idea.
Her lips tightened a bit.
"Going trapping wouldn't be bad though...if you have the patience for it." she looked at 'Jacques' with a sort of curious look. "If you're less patient, I could get the pack." Shehk tapped her nose. "Four noses are better than one." She grinned again, showing off those sharp teeth.

"Scarefari," Harrison repeated with an expression of dumb wonderment. ...Where had he heard that term before? Wasn't that...in pokemon?
....Were pokemon real??
"Guess it could have been," he said to Shehk skeptically, not extremely interested in solving the mystery of the obvious lie. But this was all useful information. Ghost-types, fire-types. ...Fog Dogs. Maybe he should suggest that Dr. H start issuing pokedexes.
"Scarefari," he said again. "I think I could wait 'em out. Can we go there?"

"Yeah, we can totally go. I think the easiest place to catch things is in....Misty Fields? It seems it.." Shehk hadn't actually...been...to the Scarefari since her return. She'd seen the fences and the entry building and gotten an information brochure, but she hadn't actually... been in. So hopefully she was remembering the names correctly.
"I haven't actually caught anything there myself, I already have a pack of minipets in my dorm room, but hey. Learning experience!" She seemed rather excited by the idea of it, her tail wagging in a twitchy motion, blue light streaming along with the motion.
