Masten December i think the usage of her ring needs to be restricted somehow; i think that as she is she is far too god-moddy. The thing is, she restricts herself. As stated in her bio, she has the ability to use her ring at its fullest, unlike other Blue Lanterns; she simply chooses not to. And with her benevolent nature, she has no reason to use the ring for offensive means. Not to mention, she doesn't really have any reason to use it very much here anyway (apart from its more passive traits such as flight, and the universal translator) unless some otherworldly terror makes itself known. If such an event were to occur, she'd be compelled by her nature as a heroine/savior to combat said terror. So, I really don't see any problem.

Unfortunately, since Masten is questioning you, only he can approve this and I will not interfere. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Okay, since Masten is M.I.A and I have waited long enough, I'm interfering.
Her ring is far too overpowered - even if she restricts herself, you need to work out something. We can't take chances.

▀▄▄▀▄▄▀▄▄▀▄▄▀▄▄▀▄▄▀▄▄▀▄▄▀▄▄▀▄▄▀▄▄▀▄▄▀ *sigh*... Okay, look. I've been RPing for over two years now, and I know what I'm doing. It really, really irritates me when people say "we can't take chances", because that implies people can't trust me. This character I'm using here? She's in a guild where she, and other Lanterns, are around. So far, the only things she has done involves energy constructs (of the defensive variety like ropes and chains to restrain others) energy blasts from her ring, flight, and the ability to heal wounds of others, as well as calm people down when they are angry. She's also used her ring's power to repair damage done to buildings. Is her ring overpowered? Maybe. But as I have already said, she has absolutely no reason to use it at it's fullest here. She hasn't even used it at it's fullest in the other guild, nor will she ever. She doesn't want to, because she's not a show-off. As I've said, the only time she'd actually use the more offensive parts of her ring's capabilities are if some otherworldly monster invades Fuyu and she is forced to fight it. If in fact I had to tone down her abilities, it would bring her down to the minimum power level for her ring, which means that if she actually had to fight some monster, she'd be absolutely useless against it. For the Blue Lantern Rings, there is no "in-between": They are either incredibly weak when their user does not have sufficient Willpower to use them at their fullest, or they are incredibly powerful when the user does. And being that I would much rather have my character be in possession of some of the more complex abilities of her ring, so as to help others and solve problems, I'd prefer not to tone her down. Are you worried that she's going to abuse her powers for whatever reason? Maybe you should read through her profile a bit more thoroughly: She is not a show-off, positively hates fighting, and would much prefer just getting along with others. So take her personality into account, please: She doesn't want to use all of her ring's powers, at least not for her own gain, because she is a heroine. She rarely, if ever, thinks about herself, only about others and how to best use her ring to help them. What's so bad about that? So what if her ring is overpowered if all she wants to do is use it to make people's lives better? Overpowered ring or not, she is my creation; when I say she is not going to go overboard with her powers, I mean that I won't. And so I ask you to actually go out on a limb here and trust me here, please.

.___. Please don't eat me. I'm not crew or anything, but I've been browsing the profiles for fun, and I noticed yours - and the little debate here. I kind of have something to say, if you won't get angry over it.
If they were to, as you said, 'go out on a limb and trust' you with the overpowered power, it's unfair to the rules they bind everyone else by. If they allow you to have a god-moddy power on the basis of trust, then they'd have to extend the same to everyone else in the guild.
A lot of other people have had to tone their characters down, myself included. One of the characters I have is majorly toned down from what she really is in other things I use her in, because she's not in those same universes. She's in this one, and it has different expectations.
If you want to keep specific parts of the ring, perhaps list those out and get rid of others? Kind of like balancing the scale, you could say. For instance, if you wanted to keep the force fields and the energy constructs, as well as the more empathetic aspects of the ring (i.e. fear depletion, avarice immunity, etc.) you could abandon the cellular regeneration and the electromagnetic scanning in favor of it. Maybe find out which parts of the ring they don't like, and negotiate over it?
It just seems a bit unfair of you to expect the rules to be bent for you. .___.
um. that's all. .___.;; I'll slink back off to lurker-dom now.

um. that's all. .___.;; I'll slink back off to lurker-dom now. No, I'm not angry. And just like in that Bleach guild, people are saying: "Oh, you shouldn't have the rules be bent for you". The thing is, I'm not special. And pretty much everyone else here has supernatural, paranormal powers. If Elasa doesn't have her ring, she's just... Well, she has natural abilities that are superior to a humans, but nothing else. The ring is what allows her to do truly incredible things, for the benefit of others, not herself. So why shouldn't she be allowed her powers? As I said, there is no inbetween. The Blue Lantern Rings have their abilities, and I cannot simply "throw out some of them". Hope, the emotion her ring is powered by, is not "blocked off" in specific universes-- it is always around. Therefore she either has all of her abilities, or she only has the most basic ones. If I have Elasa toned down, all she will be able to do is flight, basic energy blasts, and force-fields. That's it. And they'll be extremely weak. How exactly is she going to be able to help other people when she doesn't have access to the abilities that would actually allow her to help them in specific ways? She won't be able to create a calming aura, make constructs to help retrieve or build or repair things, or any of the other complex ways she can help people. This isn't like I want her to be overpowered for the sake of it; there is a reason behind it. I want her to be capable to use her ring to its fullest because she'll be able to be the superhero I want her to be in this guild, because I think that she'd fit in well while still being a hero. That's all. If people really think that's unfair, then don't allow her in, I guess. I just wanted her to be in an unfamiliar environment and meet new types of beings while still living up to her status as a superhero. As for the "basis of trust" thing... Yeah, actually, they'd have to extend that to everyone. And that's actually not the end of the world, or anything, as I'm in multiple RPs where trust of the RPers is at the forefront. I'm a captain and vice-captain of several guilds, and I actually make it a point to trust other people to know what they are doing, what they are getting into, etc. So that idea is something you guys might want to try, because it actually works more often than not. If you do though, just... be wary of the noobs.

As Lolly has stated - I can't bend rules for you.
While you're characters are incredibly well thought out and you are an extremely good roleplayer, I can't put trust in you - in fact, I'm not allowed to put my trust in anybody besides Captain Arisee because in my opinion, if I do that, it's very unprofessional and biased. I give it to you though, you're characters are definitely wonderful and refreshing - but so are other peoples and if they were overpowered, they willingly complied and they are still as amazing as they were before.
I can't break this rule for you, even if I wanted to because it's prejudice, biased and unfair to everyone else who I've asked to "detail personality" or "add more to bio" or "your powers are too godly." because I have them following all the rules provided and no one is an exception. I have not once let a character slid like that. I'm appalled by the fact that you claim I should thoroughly read her profile seeing as I read every detail given about the character and you on the other hand, are claiming I need to - that is beyond unprofessional. Asking for a rule to be bent for you is also not impressive.
Would you go to a school and ask them to "go out on a limb and trust" you with a gun on school grounds? No, you wouldn't and the same applies to rules that are made everywhere whether the circumstances are dire or not.
I took her personality into accounts, I imagined all possible scenarios but I am not comfortable letting her slip through while I turn down other characters - it's not right. As good a roleplayer you may be, I refuse to break that rule for you, everyone else follows it, you do too because that's how things work, rules are made for reasons and I'm told to enforce them.
Other guilds may or may not care what she does or what she can, but I do and it's fairly obvious that Masten and Lolly were concerned as well - the rules are different, the universe is different. As trustworthy as you may be, I won't do it.
I hope this doesn't cause problems for you, my apologies.

I didn't actually know you had read every single detail, so I apologize. And I suppose I'll just remove her, as I'm not budging from my position (because I seriously can't), and you aren't either (because you can't either). So I apologize for wasting your time. Go ahead and delete all of these posts and her profile if you wish.

I'm sure you're awaiting to her the update on the approval status of your character, so I want you to know that'm constructing a huge reply to this whole debate in entirety. I'll have it done soon.
