Beaming proudly, Christof pointed excitedly to the dismembered appendages leaping their way back home. Oh she must have been so relieved! HE was relieved, and already juggled his shovel on his hunch and his various limbs, a hand that had been hidden under his coat passing his free hand a needle and thread before the two worked on threading the needle. Once nearby, he planted the shovel in the dirt beside them to give her a proud salute- ready and raring to go with the obvious necessary stitches.

Tess couldn't believe her eyes. There they were. Prancing right towards her were her legs! Her long-lost legs! She'd done it! She'd finally found them! (Okay so they found her and it looked like Christof found them first but details, details.) She dropped the shovel and flew towards her lower half to embrace them at hip-level, hugging them close and lifting them up as she spun in the air.
It was a happy reunion, to say the least.
When her legs lightly nudged at her with their knee, the winged ghoul finally lowered them back to the ground. She turned to Christof, wiping the relieved tears from her eyes, in order to thank him and promptly spotted the needle and thread. She blinked while the legs carefully positioned themselves behind Tess' winged upper body.
"O-oh, n-no, that won't be necessary!" she stammered and pointed at the sewing impliments the hunchback held.

It was really no bother, he wasn't sure why she would turn down a free patch job- he did enough of his own, unless Malodore was needed, but just the one simple seam... It had been that missing piece for so long, that Lost Part that needed to be Replaced... It was IMPORTANT to stay whole, he learned that early on in his life, and there was never any excuse for otherwise.
But one did have to be polite.
Expression contorting into eager desire to be useful, he grunted to tell her unspokenly that it was alright and not an imposition, needle and thread still held out as he took another step closer.

The undead ghoul firmly shook her head, long black hair swaying from the movement, and flew slightly back away from the patchwork boil. She looked like she was struggling to find a way to explain herself and why she was turning down his offer because she didn't want to seem ungrateful. Until her lower half began to jump up and down, calling for her attention.
Just show him. the legs scrawled hurriedly.
A quick nod to herself, and Tess aligned her spine with the corresponding stub of her lower half. Carefully, she adjusted her body, taking care parts weren't pointing in the wrong direction before she simply lowered herself down. The instant the two halves met, Tess' wings began to retract into her back until only smooth skin could be seen through the wing-slits. And as improper as it seemed to the ghoul, she raised the hem of her blouse to reveal her stomach, a finger pointing to her waistline in particular.
There was no scar, no slit, no indication that Tess had been severed into two. "See?" She beamed, a tad more chipper than usual before bending to pick up the still concussed shovel from the ground. With no wings, no fangs, no straw-like tongue, and that shovel in her hands, Maritess could almost pass herself off as a reaper.
Almost.

The hunchback blinked, watching in fascination as the parts became whole...and then... oh... His head cocked to one side before he stooped to peer closer at that suspiciously scarless stomach before hobbling around her to try to see where the wings had gotten to. How curious! Was it a result of the skull pin? Or her own power? Truthfully he had never met very many vampires, only a few older ones here and there like Grimhold and those that mulled about his home town. Just to be sure, he stuck a finger into the empty wing-hole on her shirt with a curious poke.

Well. She really was in one piece! And attractive by Reaper standards. He flushed, backing away too quickly to notice anything awry.. except... His face lit up, still blushing shyly as the corners of his mouth twitched into a soft smile as he pointed to her shovel. She liked the hunt as well? He quickly turned to stuff the stitching supplies back in his coat pocket and heft up his own shovel, brandishing it proudly before pointing at her again enthusiastically.

Maritess was not good with charades or phantomimes or the game Guess-tures. She tended to misinterpret things and right now, with Christof pointing at her shovel (that was starting to regain consciousness) then showing her his own, Tess was misinterpreting things like WHOA. D-does he want me to help him dig? What is he even digging for? Oh Jack, I can't say no, I owe him!
A pleasant smile managed to make its way to Tess' lips as she nodded, "Y-yes, I guess. We could get started right away if you'd like?" She offered, suddenly smacking the shovel hard against the ground. Tess figured the sooner she finished helping him, the sooner she could return the shrieking shovel back to Breck's shed.
