Painite smiled up at him knowingly.
"You don't want to come down, do you? Not even to check your gain. I could run off with it, you know, if I were less of a person." She shrugged her shoulders, then leisurely moved over to the hat. Nothing bothered her, it seemed, and she was confident and fluid in her movements.
The poor hat had seen better days, of that she was sure.
She wasn't worried about him running off. In fact, she knew that it was probably flashing through his mind as she turned away from him. Maybe he was even climbing out of the tree. But she knew many things that he didn't. One of those was the fact that she could teleport and he could not. Silly civilians and their lack of ability to do anything useful.
Besides supply energy. And boy, had she hit the motherload tonight. But she had room for one more glowing orb, and that honor would belong to Warwick, she imagined.
"Looks like you have some here," she intoned sweetly.

She could definitely make off with his cash but -- well, if he stuck around, she'd also be making out with his cash and his life, right? Like the others, he'd tumble down into the pile, and then what would stop her from taking the money anyway?
Warwick hesitated only a moment before sliding, fluidly, down behind the tree. He kept the bulk of its bark between him and the general, just flicking one brief glance past to see where she was before he kicked into motion.
He was athletic, at least. He could run fast enough to keep her behind him, if she played fair. Of course, the chances of her playing fair was very slim...

Painite heard him getting down from the tree, looking over her shoulder to watch him. Sometimes she felt like she was in a slow motion scene from baywatch, though she wasn't much for saving lives. Still, when she was powered up she had a kick of strength and speed, and watching civilians always reminded her of that.
She grinned, picking up the battered hat and putting some of the spilled money back into it, almost leisurely, before she teleported to follow him. Or rather, cut off his path.
"Where are you going? You left your things. Very dangerous, leaving important personal belongings out in the open, all alone. You never know what could happen to them." Of course, she wasn't talking about his things at the moment. He was here with her, all alone, and that meant he was in danger.
She grinned.
She reached out to catch his neck in her hand, but it wasn't as threatening a touch as it might be. Her hand cupped his cheek, following the curve of his jaw. She smiled at him and started to pull his energy out of him through that one gentle touch.
"I might come back for you one day. You might make a fine soldier." Vague enough to be threatening, but leave him confused. If he remembered it at all.

He'd remember bits and pieces, when he woke up -- likely he'd remember the gears on her uniform, and the grumpy, beefy jerk sprawled out not too far away. If he was lucky, Warwick would wake up before the rest of them did, before they came to and decided to start on Act Two of the 'smash the tumbler to bits' show.
Hopefully he'd wake up before someone came along and pocketed all his livelihood.
He sucked in a deep breath as he met her eyes, properly shocked and frozen, trying to figure out how she'd gotten from one place to another that quickly. He didn't have much time to think about it before those eyes were rolling up and he slumped at her feet.
