Xiu had an incredibly valid point with that last thing she said. The Baku likely wasn't the only one on campus that knew how to enter dreams. Even then, there were definitely others in the world of Halloween. It could definitely be an important skill to have, especially if he had any secrets that needed to be kept. He had to imagine that dream diving could be a way to extract information. The Reaper supposed that it might even be possible to suggest things to the subconsicous this way.... to plant a seed of thought.

Though, there was a bit of concern for what she said earlier as well.

"You haven't been eating any dreams of Mitsu or I have you?" he asked with narrowed eyes.

"But you do have a good point... this will be good to know.."
PostPosted: Fri Aug 12, 2011 5:33 pm

Xiu was a little surprised that he asked about Mitsu too, but a tiny smile didn't twitch on her lips. She had entered Mitsu's dream as well, yes, but she could confidently say that she hadn't eaten it. As for Shun...

"I have not eaten any good dreams from either of you, and I have no intention of doing so." There was a beat, and then she added, "I did try to get rid of your nightmare the other night though. That I ate, but...but almost the exact same scene came right back after. I'd never seen that happen before." She furrowed her brows in concentration for a moment before shaking her head.

She turned her attention back to the tea then. "If you want to try it, that's why I brought the tea. It'll prompt you to fall asleep. The only thing is..." Hesitating, she looked at Shun up and down, her gaze calculating. "...It's a strong brew, so I think we only have three chances to work on this today. One small teacup for each go."

Xiu gestured to Arashi next. "I needed him here because I can't exit dreams on my own. If I wanted to duck out and see how you do on your own, then I'd need him to get me back into my body." And how would that work? A light bite or scratch from the feline would probably be enough to jerk Xiu back out.

While Shun's expression lightened slightly, he still looked relatively unamused. Or at least more unamused than he normally was. It was a relief to know that Xiu had no intention of devouring their good dreams at least, but the fact that his nightmare had come back was not too strange for him. A few of his dreams were reoccurring after all.

For a moment, he looked towards the tea, then to Arashi. It sounded pretty straight forward.

"This isn't really a drug you're giving me, is it?" he asked warily, "But fair enough. It'll do I suppose. I just take the tea and go to sleep or something?"
PostPosted: Fri Aug 12, 2011 5:53 pm

Xiu actually pouted a little now, puffing out her cheeks with indignation. "It's herbal tea! Do you really think I'd drug you with something I know is dangerous, aniki? I could drink it first if you're really suspicious." After another few seconds of pouting, she let herself relax. "And yes, that's about it. You'll want to lie down for this, because it should make you feel drowsy pretty quickly."

She had to prepare herself as well. It was bad enough witnessing Shun's dreams once, and now she had to do it again. She also had to figure out a way to subtly have the dream reaper notice how surreal his surroundings were without waking him up.

...Only being able to practice three times was quite the limitation, but they had to do what they could with the chances that had for today.

"Well you'll need to take it too anyway, right?" Shun said before moving towards his bed. He stared at it for the moment, then looked towards Xiu once more.

"Do you need blankets?" he asked. If she was going to be sleeping as well, he figured he may as well try and make her comfortable. A part of him was still a bit wary about all of this. The Reaper was aware that having Xiu around would facilitate the process, but there was no telling what she'd end up witnessing along the way.
PostPosted: Fri Aug 12, 2011 7:22 pm

"I don't, actually," She answered, trailing after him, "It's...kind of different when I enter a dream. I just have to close my eyes and find the path in, so...I don't actually fall asleep. It...it just seems like I do."

Xiu smiled a little at the offer, but shook her head. "It's okay, it's not too big of a deal. I'll just find a comfy spot on the floor." Moving over to the tea now, she gingerly filled one of the small teacups. The liquid wasn't really hot anymore, but it was still warm at least. "Um...I guess...sit down on your bed first? Don't want you passing out and hurting yourself."

The last time she had given anyone this tea, it had been for Mot. It wasn't too hard helping him to his bed because, despite the Baku's small frame, Mot was really skinny. Shun, on the other hand...

Well, it'd just be safer to do it this way. "Um...if you can, remember to look around for any strange inconsistencies, and if you do become aware, try to hang onto the dream." At least she would be there to help with his first attempt.

Nodding to Xiu, Shun took in a breath and moved over to his bed, sitting down onto it. He didn't really know how this was going to go, but if anything were to go awry, he was sure Arkham would do something about it. The mini was still pretty tense right now.

The Reaper had doubts that the Baku would really do anything to try and harm him, but there was that seed of distrust he had right now which was saying that he couldn't be too sure about that.

"Alright," he murmured while staring at the tea she was pouring out.
PostPosted: Fri Aug 12, 2011 9:12 pm

She handed the teacup to Shun, and then turned to look at the feline that had been following her as she moved around the room. "You know what your job is, right Arashi?" When she received a meow and a tail flick in reply, the Baku smiled, though it faded quickly when she turned back to the reaper.

Honestly, she was still a little nervous. Aside from the fact that Shun still looked wary, Xiu wasn't entirely sure she could watch any more tearing out of hearts, or little Shun getting beaten. Those had been hard enough to watch the first time around.

Finding a nice spot, she settled down on the floor with her back pressed against a wall. "Ready?" Though Shun hadn't dozed off yet, the ghoul closed her eyes anyways, focusing so that she could search the vicinity for any dream paths. Once the reaper fell asleep, his would pop up, and she would do what she did last time and follow it in.

Silently, Shun took the cup and downed the tea. It at least didn't taste bad. Before too long, he felt incredibly drowsy and the urge to sleep hit him pretty damn hard. The tea seemed to be exceptionally effective on him. With a low groan, he ended up passing out in a somewhat awkward position.

With him unconscious in the blink of an eye, he quickly entered a REM state and his dream started up.

The room was not the same one that had been the setting the last time Xiu had visited Shun's dream. In fact, it looked more like a dimly lit warehouse than anything else. The Reaper crouched low on some beams above the ground level, staring down at a few individuals below. Narrowing his eyes, he waited and listened.

There were about four men below, discussing some sort of negotiation. One had a briefcase on his person and it seemed that it was likely filled with either goods or money.

Xiu had assumed that the scene would be the similar, or at least similar, to the last dream. So, when she noticed Shun's path pop up, she jumped on and basically sped walk down the path...and right onto a narrow, overhead beam

It was a wonder that she didn't fall or walk right off. Instead, Xhe quickly stooped down, grasping the sides of the beam she was on to maintain her balance. Of all places... She didn't finish her thought when she noticed a familiar figure perched on a nearby beam. Shun, of course. What was he doing here? ...Who were those men standing below?

Well, that didn't matter. For this dream, she supposed that she could try a more subtle method of getting him to the level of lucidity. Immediately, she began to scan the area for something--a clock, a pattern--that could inconsistent with every new glance. Was there anything around here that would work? Were any of the men wearing a hat, or something noticeable? Perhaps there would be a little detail that was there one moment, and then gone the next.

Surrounding the men, were a number of crates, labeled different things. They were also of varying sizes and whatnot.

The men below were of varying races as well. It appeared to be two demons, a monster, and a reaper, however. The reaper had his weapon out, which appeared to be your average large scythe. Also, from the sounds of things, the debate below was getting a little heated.

Spotting movement nearby, Shun glanced up, raising his daggers as he did so. Narrowing his eyes, he glared at Xiu, taking on a more combat-like stance while on the beams.

"Tsk. You work for them don't you?" he hissed, "I'm disappointed Xiu, but I won't let you get in my way. I'll take you down with the rest of the damn organization."

She perked up upon noticing the crates. Those would work! If she could get him to read the labels for her, look away, and then read them again...

Unfortunately, Shun had noticed her presence. It wasn't the fact that he recognized her that bothered her, but the fact that he immediately seemed to jump to the wrong conclusion. Wobbling slightly, the Baku let go of the beam and raised her hands, holding them palms out to show that she didn't have a weapon or anything that he ought to be paranoid about. Then, very slowly, she raised a finger to her lips.

"Shhh. Calm down, aniki. If you make any sudden movements up here, those men will notice you." She gestured towards the four men below, frowning a bit as she noticed them arguing amongst each other. "I'm not working for them--I'm not even sure who this 'organization' is--but aniki, I really need your help for something."

Xiu was a little pleased that she was as calm as she was right now. Maybe it was because she knew this was a dream, and because she actually had a goal in mind. Either way, she wasn't as nervous as she would usually be in a situation like that, especially after someone she considered a friend told her that he'd "take her down". That, admittedly, at least got a cold shiver out of her.

Shun didn't relax much there.

"If you're not with them then why are you here?" he hissed as he stared hard at the Baku. She did present a good point though. If he did too much up here, he'd blow his cover. Though, perhaps he should just mobilize anyway. With the girl here, waiting around could be rather risky.

"Whatever you need help with, it'll have to wait. I have work to do," he said lowly before turning his attention to the group below. In an instant he disappeared from his spot on the beam to behind one of the strangers below, stabbing into his backside. This startled the others and the one with the briefcase began to back away.

"s**t! They found us!" he cried out.

He didn't get to move all too far before the Reaper had pushed aside his first victim to come after him next, spilling more blood onto the dusty concrete warehouse floor.

"I'm here because...wha--h-hey?!" She had struggled to come up with an excuse, but before she could even think one up, the reaper suddenly disappeared. The yelling from below was an obvious indication of where he had decided to go. Frowning, she leaned forward to peer down past the bars, but she found that she didn't like what she saw in the least.

Shun killing people. He had already stabbed one of the men, and was now going after the others who and convened in the warehouse. The floor was painted crimson, and--

Xiu immediately shut her eyes, slowly lowering herself so that she was sitting on the beam instead of standing on it. She was starting to feel a little dizzy, and the sight of what the reaper was doing terrified her, but she couldn't leave now. It wasn't a matter of not being able to leave anymore--after a certain amount of time elapsed, she had commanded Arashi to bite her awake just in case--but she was here for a reason. They only had three chances to try this tonight, and she couldn't waste one of them simply because she was uncomfortable by what she saw.

She would just have to wait it out.

Having taken out the one with the briefcase, Shun turned his attention towards the other two who had decided to stand their ground. The other Reaper stood defensively while the remaining demon started to channel some magic.

"Dammit. Should have known they'd send people after us. But you know, this won't slow us down in the slightest!" the demon barked, "And your Fear will be wiped all over the floor when we're through with you."

Narrowing his eyes, Shun crouched down low before launching himself at the scythe wielder first, deeming him to be the larger threat. The enemy reaper swing his blade in a large arching motion which was easily dodged. Moving down and to the side, he soon shot up with one of his daggers to slash deeply into his target. Just as he did this though, magic shot out, hitting him from behind.

Letting out a cry, he staggered forward before turning around to face the demon. Gritting his teeth, he placed a hand over his abdomen for the moment, crouching down in the process. It was hard to see, but it appeared that drops of red were falling to the ground where he stood, and it wasn't coming from the blades of his weapons.

"Hmp. You've gotten sloppy. Careless," the demon growled as he prepared another spell, "But that's not my problem. We'll soon just have one less pest to worry about."
