"Fer blockin' ya. 'M really sorry. Maybe we should ask th'teacher if we could switch, so yeh can see? I really wouldn't want to... ya know, be in th'way." He offered. Being so tall could be such a hassle sometimes, and Nicohlas was really nice, he wouldn't want to be in the way. "Should we see ifn we can switch?"

Nicohlas paused in tucking his notebook back into his backpack to look at Ciaran in surprise. He really did look horribly sorry. "I...I am sorry Ciaran..." I had not occurred to the younger boy that Ciaran would take the small joke personally, Nico's intention had certainly not been to make him feel bad! He zipped the zipper of his bag closed and quickly slung it to one side of his chair so he could back away from the desk."Don't apologize. It was the teachers shortsightedness that placed you in front of me." He explained while looking up at the woman. "I am sorry about the note. I thought it would seem a little funny at the time...but..yes. We can ask her about the switch...or just do it I suppose. If she notices she may not say anything, it should be clear why we switched right?"

He relaxed a little. It was a joke? Oh. That was good then. "Ah think we should ask if we ken trade seats. Tis polite 'n all, yeah?" Ciaran smiled as he picked up his bag, placing his notebook inside and zipping it up. "B'sides, wouldn'ta want the teacher ta think you were me, eh?" He gestured for Nico to come up with him to speak to the teacher.
"Scuse me, ma'am?" He said softly and waited for the teacher to look up at them. "D'ya think it'd be alright if Nicohlas 'n I traded seats?"
"Of course not." Came the curt reply. "You'll sit where I assigned you until I decide to change the seating chart."
"But ma'am-" Ciaran started.
"No buts. You boys are going to be late to your next class." She dismissed them. She wasn't even going to hear out their reasons!

He still felt a little bad about the letter. All class Ciaran must have felt awful. If he had only known he'd have passed another note earlier apologizing for it all. Nicohlas rolled himself a little along the aisle as he listened to Ciaran's decision. His lips quirked a bit and he replied. "Well if she did you'd be sure to ace the rest of the class this semester." He quietly joked back.
He followed his new friend up to the teacher and waited hopefully. Her quick response was...well. Needless to say it was sort of sad. He had hoped she'd at least listen. With the teacher's dismissal, Nicohlas sadly turned his chair to the door and rolled himself out. "Ah...well... I'll have...my brother talk with the councilor or something. They will help I am sure." He quietly murmured up to the taller boy.

Ciaran shrugged. "Ah, if it can't be 'elped, then." He looked at Nico as he mentioned his brother. "Ya think that'll 'elp? S'ppose if that's what it takes, aye? Till then, ya want m'notes?" He pondered a moment, debating if he should ask for help catching up, and he'd share his notes with Nicohlas, but he couldn't do that. No. He'd just offer the notes.

"Nathan can be very persuasive." Nicohlas found himself replying with a slightly amused smile. Persuasive seemed to be a skill his brother attempted to master, and Nicohlas figured he would enjoy the opportunity to talk to someone in charge, to see if he could bring them around to his way of thinking.
"I would like to copy your notes, if your fine with that. Maybe we can meet up after school? It shouldn't take me too long to copy the notes." He offered with a small nod of his head. "I can meet you out by the Rolls. The driver pulls up to the handicapped section to wait for me. Will that be okay with you?"

"Th' Rolls?" He had no idea what that was. "Ah, wouldn't wanna trouble yer brother though. Seems a silly thing ta worry 'bout. But I do feel bad if I'ma blockin yer view all th' time." What a dilemma. He didn't want to bother Nicohlas's brother, but he also didn't want to block the kid all year. "Well, we'll see what 'appens, aye? I'd be 'appy to let ya copy m'notes. ... M'be I could impose on yeh a little? Could use some 'elp gettin caught up on what the class is doin."

"Mm. Yes. It's the car that brings me to school and takes me home." He replied with a vague smile at the sound of a question in Ciaran's voice. "How about we leave the whole thing up to him if he wants to stick his hand into this. Either way, we'll just do what we can about the whole situation." If nothing else he'd spend the rest of the year copying notes from Ciaran, it wasn't like he'd mind the excuse for some socialization right?
"That sounds like more then a fair trade." He determined after hearing Ciaran's request. "We can make more plans about it after-school. Do you participate in any sports or after-school activities we would need to schedule around?"

"Aye, just the basketball team. But we're meetin tomorrow, so t'day is free." There was a faint shrug. He was still trying to figure out how he was on the team. "A'right." Ciaran smiled. "See ya after school then." He waved to Nico before checking his schedule. "Argh, across th' campus. I gotta run." Another wave and an appology called back, and Ciaran was gone.
When classes for the day ended, Ciaran shuffled everything he needed into his bag. Where was it Nico had said to meet him? Oh right, parking lot. Handicap parking spaces. He had his English notebook in hand as he headed outside. He didn't see Nico just yet, so he'd wait. What was a Rolls? He still had no idea.

It seemed like Ciaran would have no problem finding the spare time to meet up with him. He couldn't help but smile at that. He would rather like the opportunity to have another friend, at least Nathan would have to see that he was coming out of his shell a little right? "Oh! That far?" He blinked with surprise. Due to his limitations his student adviser had been kind enough to make certain all his classes were close enough for him to reach between the bells. "You better hurry then!" He said with a wave of his hand. With legs as long as Ciaran's though, he did not doubt the other would make it in time.
By the end of the day, Nicohlas had almost forgotten about Ciaran. it was not until he rolled out the side doors and down the provided handicap ramp that it came back to him. Seeing that shock of red hair bobbing over the sea of heads brought back their brief exchange outside the class. He started towards the parked area, but raised his hand and waved it to try and get Ciaran's attention. "Hey Ciaran."

It was hearing his name that caught his attention. Unfortunately, Ciaran hadn't seen Nico come out of the building. He was still looking for what a "rolls" was. "Ah! There ya are." He smiled at the younger boy and met him half way. Well, sort of. They had to move away from the doors so they weren't in the way of the other kids leaving. Ciaran handed over the notebook. "'Ope yer brother doesn't mind th' delay." He smiled, squatting down near Nico so he didn't feel... so horribly tall next to Nicohlas.

Nicohlas could not keep his grin from widening some as his new friend would kneel down beside him. He reached his hands out to take the notebook from Ciaran before answering him. "I think he may be worried. He tends to do that a lot when it comes to me, but so long as we aren't too slow he'll be fine." He reassured the other while tucking the notebook into his backpack. Carefully Nicohlas settled the hand sewn happy faced bug backpack in his lap.
"I'll have these all copied up by tomorrow. I can give them back to you tomorrow morning..unless you want to come home with me? I could have the driver take you home afterwords. It really should only take me about ten or fifteen minutes to copy them."

"Nah, I gotta pick up m'brother." He was trying to decide if he needed the notes tonight or not. "Maybe... I can get yer number? If I need them back, I can swing by yer place, aye? Otherwise, I can wait till t'morrow." He smiled. "B'sides, wouldn't wanna worry yer brother by me keepin' ya, yeah?"

"That sounds fine with me." Nicohlas was quick to reply. It was nice that Ciaran was so easy going about all of this. Nicohlas dug out a small notepad and quickly scribbled both his cell phone and house number on the paper. Along with suggested times to call between. As he did not want Sampson getting all scowly at him for receiving calls to the house after it was his determined bed time. He handed the paper off to Ciaran and give a small smile. "Here you go then. I'll either hear you tonight or see you tomorrow then." With a happy little wave, Nicohlas rolled himself off towards the waiting car. He had a new friend! This was going to be a great entry for his diary!
