_______________________________  【 Frankly, Adrianna had no idea what Night was talking about. But she struggled to put the pieces together anyways. Wings of an angel and powers of a demon, so that might mean he's a cross between both. If his father was the one angry at him, he must be the angel and the mother a demon? That had to be it, it was the only logical explanation that Adrianna could come up with. Satisfied, Adrianna walked over to her bed and sat down on it, choosing to say nothing else on the matter for fear of upsetting him and causing trouble. She hated to cause trouble. Adrianna avoided the lump under the covers that was Ace when she sat and then she looked up to Night. She was a bit startled by the music choice, then she chuckled a bit. It was a far cry from the indie stuff she listened to, but it was still good. She smiled and watched in silence as Night went about unpacking. When he sat down and suddenly a hellhound came through a portal, Adrianna couldn't help but jump a little bit. "Oh wow, that was a surprise." she laughed. Adrianna looked at the hound and spoke to it. "Hi, I'm Adrianna, it's a pleasure to meet you." she mused, looking forward to it speaking to her. She wondered if it would automatically know that she could hear what he was saying.  Night smiled as the hell hound spoke sounding British with a soft voice but there was something evil about the way he spoke.
"Hello... my name is Anubis... I am Night's guardian..."
Anubis sat next to Night.
"I see you have a little woodland creature there... I believe it's name is Ace... if I heard right..."
Night smiled.
"I would have introduced you two but... he beat me to the punch... yeah most mythical beings are able to actually speak... strange right... no... special abilities needed to hear them..."

She was surprised at the soft voice, but the soft didn't mask the maliciousness in it. Adrianna shook her head. "Well its nice to meet you Anubis." The bunny was woken by all the noise and poked its head out from under the covers. "What the hell is that doing here?" it asked. Adrianna laughed. She almost apologized to the hellhound for her rabbits rude behavior because she was sure that Anubis could hear him speak, but she decided against it. "Yes, his name is Ace. Anubis grinned and slowly walked over to the rabbit.
"I don't mind... after all... I like my food with a little... fight in him."
Fire burst from his eyes when he got next to Ace but then he just seemed to teleport back to the bed.
"I'm sorry... he doesn't have very good manors after all... he is a hell hound..."
Night smiles and sets his hand on Anubis's head.

A quiet knock rang out from the door. Shortly thereafter, it was pulled open, revealing a young girl who hovered uncertainly in the doorframe, a beaten-up old suitcase leaned against one leg.
"Um." Tess glanced from Night to Anubis to Adrianna, overwhelmed and more than a little intimidated. Terrifying dog-thing. Boy with wings. The girl looks normal, but who knows! Why did Mum and Dad think this was such a good idea again? she thought, ruefully. But one has to face things as they come, and I'm sure they'll be interesting once I get to know them... She pushed her brown hair away from her face, cleared her throat purposefully, and smiled hesitantly at her new dormmates.
"This is Firebrick, I believe?" She spoke quietly, with a thick English accent. "I'm Tess Price, the office said I'm to room here..."

Night gets up and shakes her hand.
"My name is Night Shade... and it's a pleasure to meet you... and this is my guardian Anubis... this is going to be the last time he'll pop in unannounced like he did earlier..."
Anubis smiled and walked over to her sitting next to night.
"It really is a pleasure..."

"Night Shade," Tess gave him a small smile, then turned the same expression towards Anubis. That beastie makes Mr. Twiggington's hulking old mastiff look like a puppy! And he can talk!, she thought, before saying, "And Anubis. Charmed, I'm sure." At loss for the proper etiquette for the situation, she gave the guardian a little half bow.
Straightening her neck, Tess rubbed awkwardly at the back of her neck, and told Night, "It's, ah, it's fine if he's in here, with or without announcement. I like dogs, I just wasn't quite expecting -" She cut herself off, then smiled and shook her head at herself.
"So," Tess glanced around the room, scoping out the furniture situation. Only two beds, and the other two were here first, so that must mean - "I suppose I've got the couch?"

Night smiled at her.
"No that is improper... you are a lady after all... you'll have the bed if you like..."
He took her bag setting it on the bed, he took his bag from underneath the bed sliding it between the couch and the wall.
Anubis simply started walking through a portal.
"I think you'll do just fine here Night... but remember... low profile... we don't need your father finding you alone... that demon is far stronger than you... even if you control the void..."
"Understood..."
Night bows to him as Anubis walks through the portal turning back into what he truly was, the Jackal headed god of death.

"I'm nothing posh," she said briskly. "I'm just a farmgirl. I've slept much worse, and I haven't got wings to manage. Besides, I'm not very tall. I'll be as comfortable on the couch as anywhere else." Then she smiled, stepping past him to retrieve her bag and bring it over towards the couch. "So, no, but thank you for the offer. I'll take the couch - I insist!" Out of the corner of her eye she watched Anubis depart. "So, ah, other than having a... very large magic dog, what is it that you do? You two do, sorry." she amended, smiling apologetically over towards Adrianna.

She would have given up her own bed, but Night had offered first it seemed. Adrianna sighed and said, "I'm Adrianna, its nice to meet you Tess." She smiled at the girl and stood up and the little white bunny, Ace, poked his head out from under the covers. "She woke me." he said to Adrianna. Tess wouldn't be able to hear him of course, he was a normal animal. "I'll beat her up" Adrianna shook her head at him. She gestured with her hand towards the bunny laying on her bed. "This here is Ace, he says hi." Adrianna smiled. If a bunny could roll their eyes, Ace did as he burrowed back under the covers and out of sight. "Need help unpacking?" she asked. She smiled brightly. "He's cute! I didn't know we were allowed pets here, I might've brought my dog." There was a small pause as she thought that through. "Although I don't know if a terrier would be a safe roommate to a bunny..." The confusion about the meaning about her earlier question made a faint flush rise in her cheeks. "Sorry, that was a bit unclear of me, wasn't it? I meant, do the two of you have, you know, powers? I know most of the students here do." In a joking tone she added, "Just, ah, making sure neither of you might turn me into a newt or set me on fire if I take too long in the shower one morning."

The thought hadn't crossed her mind that pets may not be allowed in the dorms. She hadn't even considered it. It didn't matter since Ace was small enough to hide if needed. Adrianna laughed at the correction to the question Tess had asked. "Well we do have powers I suppose." Adrianna said. "Um, well I can talk to animals, and I have some healing abilities." Adrianna explained. She couldn't heal herself, but other people were a piece of cake, depending on how injured they were. She couldn't like cure cancer or anything, but she could fix a minor bone or two. She listened to Adrianna's explanation of her abilities with interest. "Oh! That must be interesting. Any animal at all? Can you speak to things like spiders?" Her smile quirked up at the corner. "I always wonder what they're thinking. I had a pet tarantula for a few years, but I could never tell if he let me play with him because he genuinely liked me or if it was only instinct acting." As for the matter of her own powers, Tess preferred to keep the explanations simple: "I can sometimes find things that've been lost, hidden, or forgotten. Information, too." She shrugged. "Not very dramatic, but it can be useful sometimes..."
